  • Dirty Fresh Cosmetics One Mill Bath Rocks

Despite the warmer weather in the UK, who else is still enjoying their baths? I sure am. Hot, cold, snowing, sunny, I end my evening with a bath. So can you imagine how big my stash of bath bombs and similar types of products is? I’m going through my stash slowly but surely, and recently decided to grab Dirty Fresh Cosmetics One Mill Bath Rocks to use. I bought these when there was a sale on the website, but current and regular price is £4.20 for 130g.

Dirty Fresh Cosmetics One Mill Bath Rocks

Why did I chose this one?

I like the idea of bath rocks because you don’t have to use all of them, just some. Or, if you have two different fragranced ones you can mix and match. So the versatility in using them is there. The colour of these was so appealing, and I fancied something that was inspired by an actual fragrance, so I hoped for a great scented bath time experience.

    Packaging.

These bath rocks came in a recyclable white tub with a clear plastic lid.

    Appearance.

Irregular, chalky textured, rock like pieces. Various sizes and shapes. Colour wise, these are so striking! Streaks of orange, blue, purple, grey and yellow. An absolute feast for the eyes!

    Scent.

Now, this is an interpretation of a well known men’s fragrance, which personally I haven’t smelt so can’t say how close it is to this scent. But what I can do is explain how THIS smells to me. This definitely is more masculine in style because it has the strength and musky element you would associate with a male inspired scent. Strong, woody, clean and a tiniest bit sweet.

    In the bath.

I was aiming to use only half the tub of these bad boys, but tripped, nearly fell into the bath and the whole lot went in! By this point half of the bath was full with warm water, and as the rocks fell in, each one created their very own bath art by releasing various colours. First there was a sizzle, then came colour. Bursts of pink, green, blue, purple, absolutely glorious to look at! And along with the colour, the fragrance wafted beautifully around my bathroom. It was a strong in strength but not overwhelming, which I enjoyed. Back in the tub was a small amount of white, soft, airy bubbles sitting delicately over the patches of colour.

Once all the rocks had dissolved and the bright colours faded, they all combined to make a sea of deep, dark, purple verging on the black side shade. Bubbles didn’t last too long but were there for long enough.

Overall, what I got with these bath rocks was some quality time in the bath, giving me some much needed pampering and providing me with plenty of sensory treats

    On the skin.

In and out of the bath my skin felt normal and looked after. No drying out, no irritation and totally relaxed physically and mentally.

    Recommended?

Oh yesss! I adored using these, and glad I used the whole tub instead of half if I’m honest! These look so good, they created a beautifully, coloured bath and the fragrance was amazing! Add all these together, and the fact these bath rocks were gentle on my skin, make a must to purchase for any bath lover!

  • Bubble Up Keeping It Cosy Bath Bar

I don’t care whether its freezing outside or if its so hot the world is melting, I will always love and have my baths. Can’t help myself! I put it down to old age. While I’m young enough to get out of them unaided I’m going to continue to get into them! This is why my bath products are so important because I want to enjoy my bathing experiences as much as possible. So it would have been rude of me not to pick up Bubble Up Keeping It Cosy Bath Bar from Asda during a shopping trip a few months ago, at a cost of £1.50 ( was on sale normally £3.00 ).

Bubble Up Keeping It Cosy Bath Bar

Why did I buy this? Sometimes I’m a bit of a snob! I will look at a product on a shelf, look at the price and assume whether it will be good or not. This I liked the look of it, packaging and colouring but for the price and the fact I never heard of the brand before, I wasn’t sure about the quality of it. Worst case scenario I thought I would hate it never to be used again. Best case scenario I actually like it. So in the shopping basket it went and crossed my fingers!

What’s a bath bar? I think this is probably a bubble bar with a different name. If you think of how a bath bomb performs, this will be of that type of product but contain more nourishing ingredients and creates foam. And of course, its shaped like a bar rather than a ball!

Appearance. Rectangular in shape, 4 inches in length, 2 inches in height and 1 inch deep. So overall a really good size! The texture looks quite chalky and although flat on all sides not totally smooth. Its made up of coloured stripes of burnt orange and a terracotta red which is simple but quite striking.

Scent. Not the strongest scent I’ve ever smelt. Taking this out of its packaging then the cling wrap, I got a little ginger. When I say ginger I don’t mean the punchy, warming ginger scent you think of. More a lightly perfumed version of ginger with a slight, sweet, citrus twist to it. Nice enough to sniff and quite different compared to other bath products I’ve used before in regards to its scent.

In the bath. With most products like this, I dopped this under the warm running water in my bath. Immediately when it hit the water it created colour and bubbles. Colour first, turning the bath water from clear to orange. Then came the bubbles. Started off being a few, with a small amount having an orange coating on them. But then more and more came, to the point the bath was full of bubbles! And what lay underneath was a sea of bright yet burnt orange tinted water.

On the skin in the bath. This was a delight! Without reading the packaging this clearly is a product that contained some form of moisture giving ingredients because I could feel it. I felt a slip in the water, I felt a slip on my skin and I could feel it with the bits of this that was left at the bottom of the bath. What was nice about this is it felt very comfortable and moisturising, but not greasy or oily. This, I normally I love. But sometimes you don’t want or need that, especially when you have bubbles in the bath too.

Out of the bath. Now this was interesting…I assumed that my body would feel like there was something on it but it didn’t. It felt and looked super clean, matt and not coated in anything. Skin wasn’t dry as in squeaky or uncomfortable. It felt more prepped and ready to go.

Recommended? I think I may have found a little gem with this! I really love it so its a yes from me. I would definitely recommend this if you see it on your travels. Its a great size and looks very appealing. The amount of bubbles and colour created was insane and my body loved this! What an enjoyable evening bath I had with this which I would happily repreat again and again and again! I think I got a bargain at £1.50 but even at full price ( £3.00 ) its an affordable luxury! And I cannot wait to try other versions and fragrances out in the future.

Want this bar in your bath? As mentioned you can get this from Asda but depending on store in regards to availability. If you were doing an online grocery shop with them, lucky for you it’s available online here as well.

  • Bomb Cosmetics Cotton Candy Bath Blaster

The saying Don’t judge a book by it’s cover sometimes is true. Sometimes it isn’t. I can only speak for myself, but the way something is presented when it comes to skincare, bath and body products will either make me look at it or I walk on by. So in this instance, how something looks I guess IS important! How it performs after that is something else. So when it comes to things like bath bombs I very much am the person who wants something to look appealing and eye catching. I can say that Bomb Cosmetics Cotton Candy Bath Blaster definitely ticks that box for sure. Along with other products from this company, this bath blaster was a Christmas 2020 gift from a friend.

Bomb Cosmetics Cotton Candy Bath Blaster

Why did I use this one? It looked at me! It’s super pretty and I fancied a bath with it so why not? I THINK I’ve used a bath blaster before although not 100% sure. But the idea of using this instead of a traditional bath bomb seemed more interesting.

What’s a Bath Blaster? Think of a traditional bath bomb but with the addition of a mixture containing cocoa and shea butter placed at the top of it.

How does it look? Did I already mention this is pretty? This is round in shape like a usual bath bomb but not perfectly circular. This has a handmade look to it. Very light pink in colour and has the usual chalky texture and look bath bombs have. The bottom is slightly flattened so this can sit up unaided. But it’s the top that holds the magic. Baby pink coloured piping in the centre of it with a dusting of silver glitter makes this look almost edible!

Scent. Reminds me very much of the Teddy Bears Picnic Mallow I got in this gift set with this bath blaster. A little zesty, a little sweetness and a little musk to it but what I wouldn’t say is it screams cotton candy to me.

In the bath. I dropped this under warm running water, and was a little annoyed at myself. I threw it in upside down and the piping section fell out. So instead of one bath blaster in the bath I sort of got two. The main part of it fizzed away like mad and took not much time to disappear, leaving a thin layer of white froth on the bath. The piping section? Didn’t take too much longer to go but go it did a few minutes later. The bath water didn’t change colour, although looked a little cloudy. No real foam, and scent wise the fragrance was very subtle.

The main part of the bath blaster

I could tell immediately that this was definitely a moisture giving bath product. When in the bath, it was very comforting and skin felt protected thanks to be cocooned in light oils that I could feel in the water and on my skin.

The cocoa and shea butter piping centre

Out of the bath. I enjoyed it, and so did my skin. It didn’t feel or look dry. I could feel the bath blaster had targeted the drier areas of my body, and I found slightly oily sections on hard to reach areas such as my back where I couldn’t dry myself properly.

Disappointments? I would have loved this to have smelt like pure, sweet and almost sickly cotton candy. To the point I would want to lick it is what I had hoped for! It didn’t. This didn’t change my bathing experience though, but I would have enjoyed this just a touch more if it smelt as suggested by it’s name. Not too sure whether it had been sat too long next to other products in my gift set and the scent transferred? Or scent wise it was a defect. But yep…no cotton candy smell.

Who is this great for? If you suffer from dry skin and you want to match the moisture you add onto your skin AFTER bath with what you put IN the bath, this is perfect! Do you love bath oils, bath truffles, bath mallows? Basically more treatment based bath goodies, you will love this. And you want a simple, non fussy bath but want to enjoy a conditioning soak? This could be ideal.

Who is this NOT for? You want to see colour and pretty bath art in the water, then this is a no. Lots of bubbles and foams, this isn’t it. And highly fragranced this won’t happen. I wouldn’t give this to my 80 year old granny, if I had one. The high amount of cocoa and shea butter will leave the bath a little slippy and I could see that being a possible issue for less abled bodied people or very young.

Recommended? Yesss! What I loved about this was the fact it looked and acted like a 2 in 1 bath product. Part bath bomb/fizzer, part bath mallow/truffle. Lots of fizz, lots of nourishing, hydrating ingredients which made my skin feel great. I would be tempted to buy this particular one myself just to see if the fragrance on this one was a dud or not, but I’m dying to try other bath blasters to experience other scents and super cute looks! For £3.25 each I think this represents great value and easily a repeat purchase time and time again!

  • Desire Magnolia & Mulberry Reed Diffuser

Normally when it comes to home fragrance, I will head straight into my stash of wax melts. The amount of scents I have means I am spoilt for choice on a daily basis. But I am beginning to fall in love with reed diffusers. It makes a nice change from wax, and visually these really can be a statement piece. I’m very lucky I received Desire Magnolia & Mulberry Reed Diffuser from my neighbour for Christmas 2020, and decided recently to get this opened and use it.

Desire Magnolia & Mulberry Reed Diffuser

Why did I use this? I can’t comment why this was BOUGHT for me. I can only guess my neighbour thought it would be a nice gift. But why I chose to use this was because there are certain areas I can’t use a wax warmer in, but I still wanted fragrance e.g toilet, bathroom, hallway etc. I thought this could do the job perfectly for those awkward areas and rooms..

What do you get? The actual reed diffuser itself which contains the fragranced oil. 6 reeds and a small instructions leaflet.

How does this look? I’ve seen lots of reed diffusers before but never like this one. This reed diffuser is a clear, glass bottle ( rectangular in shape ), which houses the fragranced oil ( 200ml ). The area where you pop the reeds in has a gold cover around the neck of the bottle. You can see through the glass that it doesn’t just contain oil, but actual plants, flowers etc as well. This makes me think of infused cooking oils you can buy that contain things to fragrance it such as herbs and spices. Visually it’s gorgeous! The oil itself is golden in colour and the flowers are autumnal in colours, so oranges, reds and browns.

This reed diffuser came boxed. Beautifully packaged with lots of flowers, plants and leaves illustrated all over it. A cut out window at the front so the diffuser itself is visible.

How to use. Unscrew the gold section around the neck of the bottle off, and in the middle of the bottle is a stopper/plug. Take this out and pop in the reeds that comes with it and enjoy!

Scent. This is a gorgeous fragrance. Its a lovely mix of fruity and floral. You get almost a dark berry type scent floating through this which is quite rich and warming. Equally matched by a floral which is clean and fresh. Overall this scent is sweet, sophisticated and delightful. Genuinely, unless you totally despise the fruit and floral family fragrance wise in every way, shape, or form, most people would love this!

In use. Instructions say allow the reeds to soak up the oil within 24 to 36 hours, so I expected nothing to happen during this time period. I decided to put this in my downstairs toilet. I hoped neither child in the house would mess about with this, if it was strategically tucked away with candles on the windowsill.

The fragrance came through after the first hour of setting it up, and it was done in such a natural and cosy way. It wasn’t strong but it smelt so good in the small space. I got hints of it while in there and wondered where such a lovely smell had come from.

Strength & Longevity. Strength I would say is a medium. Would this change in a larger or smaller space? I don’t know. But for the small area I placed it in this was perfect. Longevity I think is dependant on if you turn the reeds around. After a couple of days, I found the scent dwindled, so I turned around the reeds and back came the scent. I do this every 2 to 3 days to maintain the scent and its strength so for me this works well. And I’ve been using this for 2 weeks and it’s still remaining strong if I do this.

Recommended? Definitely! I love home fragrance full stop, but getting it in a way that looks good as well is great to add to any room. And this does! The look of it is so pretty, the scent is stunning and longevity and strength perfect for my needs.

I’ve been able to find the same size diffuser as mine online for £8.99 from a company called Belle & Mac. I’ve personally never shopped with them before, so by all means visit their website but check other places to ensure you get this beautiful product at the right price from the right people.
