  • Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Body Mists

Superdrug is one of those staple stores on the UK high street that stocks a wide range of products from health care to hair care, body care to skin care. Is it somewhere I shop regularly? No. So what draws me back into purchasing from Superdrug? Price promotions and their own branded products is what pulls me in. Perfect example is their Fruity range. I recently bought two of their Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Body Mists. But why?

Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Body Mists
    I’ve used them before

Last year I bought and loved their Fruity Blood Orange Body Mist. Great price point, I loved the scent of it and it was just something a little different fragrance wise. So I already had an idea what the quality of their other body mists would be like in this range.

What did I buy & why?

I originally wanted a different scent but it wasn’t in store. So I opted for two limited edition body mists in Sour Apple and Pumpkin Spice. Both were seasonal, both appealed to me scent wise. And when I had a sniff off Sour Apple I wasn’t leaving the store without it! But why did I look at them in the first place, besides the fact I’ve used one of the body mists before? Price point! When I purchased these they were half price with Superdrug’s loyalty card which made the mists very affordable.

    Pumpkin Spice

This is the time of year when anything and everything that can be scented will include pumpkin spice as a fragrance. Superdrug’s Fruity Pumpkin Spice Body Mist is very spicy and warming in the form of ginger and a little cinnamon. Do I get much pumpkin? Maybe, but its the spices that come through more and I love it.

    Sour Apple

I can honestly say I have NEVER smelt a body mist in this scent before! It literally smells like fizzy, apple flavoured sweets. So there’s no mistaking what this fragrance is! Sweet, effervescent, zingy apple, which I love as it’s very unusual in this fragrance form.

Superdrug’s Fruity Sour Apple Body Mist
    Worth buying?

These aren’t perfumes, so don’t expect them to have the same longevity or strength as a fragrance full of essential or fragrance oils like an eau de toilette or eau de parfum. But these are the perfect sizes to travel with (100ml), seasonal scents with Sour Apple being a revelation! And if bought while on promotion (which this range of body mists these have been regularly), very affordable! Definitely worth a buy!

Usual retail price is £3.49, but at time of writing this post half price with a Superdrug loyalty card.

  • Autumn & Winter Scented Wax Melts By Home of Honey

Do I have a favourite season for using home fragrance? Autumn and Winter are my favourite times. I spend more time at home wanting to feel snug and cosy, and home fragrance products help to maintain that vibe. Autumn and Winter scents tend to be more richer, heavier, and spicier than scents geared towards Spring and Summer, and I love it! So having a package of wax melts kindly sent to me by wax vendor Home of Honey Candle Co, filled with these types of fragrances, was a welcomed delivery. So what wax melts did I receive?

Home of Honey’s Autumn & Winter Scented Wax Melts
    Fragrances

These wax melts scream Autumn and Winter! A great mix of fragrances which are traditional and well known for these seasons. So very much tried, tested and loved. They would appeal to the majority of people, that’s why they are popular in general. I received:

Caramel Pumpkin, Golden Autumn, Cinnamon & Vanilla, Apple Spice, Vanilla Bean Noel, Candy Cane and 12 Days of Christmas.

12 Days of Christmas Wax Melts
What type of wax melts are these?

All of these wax melts, except one, come in a wax melt snap bar. Long and rectangular, and you snap off how much you want to use and melt. 12 Days of Christmas is a selection of individual wax melt shapes. No need for snapping, just put directly into your wax warmer and go!

Apple Spice Wax Melt Snap Bar
    How do they look?

Each wax melt snap bar, although shaped the same, look different. All have a creamy base colour to them, but each have embedded on the front different coloured glitter that nicely reflects the fragrance.

Caramel Pumpkin is covered in a mix of red and gold glitter. Golden Autumn is gold. Cinnamon & Vanilla is gold with iridescent shards on the top. Apple Spice green. Vanilla Bean Noel is multiple glitter all in pastel shades. Candy Cane festive red. And finally, each wax melt is coloured differently (pink, orange, yellow, blue, cream etc) in 12 Days of Christmas Part 1, but no glitter visible that I can see.

Candy Cane Wax Melt Snap Bar

The wax melt snap bars are all in clear sleeves finished off with white bows, which is very cute. 12 Days of Christmas Part 1 wax melts are housed in a large, clear plastic case finished off also with a ribbon. On the front each of the scents of the wax melts are mentioned. What I like about the labels on these wax melts is the Autumn scented ones have a pumpkin on the label and the Winter/Christmas ones have trees on them. Such a lovely idea and good attention to detail.

    First impressions?

Beautifully presented and packaged. The wax melts themselves look so good you want to melt them immediately and from what I can smell with some of these (not opened them all yet), they smell as good as they look! Great mix of fragrances, all perfectly themed for the seasons, easy to use wax melt forms. What is there not to love so far?

To purchase Home of Honey’s wax melt snap bars, they only cost £2.50 and come in a variety of fragrances. 12 Days of Christmas Part 1 costs £8.99 which is great value for 12 differently fragranced wax melts. If the seasonal wax melts aren’t what you are looking for, there are plenty of other fragrance types and wax melt shapes on the website to purchase here.

  • Perfect For Autumn! Fruity Blood Orange Body Mist From Superdrug

Who doesn’t love fragrance? Home fragrance, car fragrance, body fragrance. You name the type most of us love them! Different scents evoke different feelings, memories and thoughts, so no wonder it’s easy to be a fragrance junkie! Fortunately, if we focus on fragrance for the body, you can grab them at affordable prices without going bankrupt. I recently found a VERY affordable, limited edition Autumn/Halloween inspired body mist in Superdrug. I bought Fruity Blood Orange Body Mist for only £1.74 (with my Superdrug loyalty card), but without the card costs £3.49 for 100ml. Is this body mist good is it?

Superdrug’s Fruity Limited Edition Blood Orange Body Mist
    Packaging

This body mist comes in a chunky but small plastic spray top bottle. Clear and tinted orange/red with a fun looking label on the front, clearly showing what this fragrance should smell like. Personally, I don’t mind how this is presented. I like the fact it’s not cylinder shaped thanks to it’s flat sides. But the overall look doesn’t scream expensive or aimed at all ages. More on the affordable side appearance wise, but fun, and towards a younger age range.

    Fragrance

Am I the only person who doesn’t know what blood orange smells like? Well I don’t! But what I would say is Fruity’s Blood Orange Body Mist has a citrus hint to it. But is also a little spicy and musky, so is quite a dark, rich fragrance. It’s a lot more grown up in smell then how the packaging looks and I love it! How this smells is more in line with a perfume rather than a body mist, and I’m impressed. Perfect Autumn fragrance!

    Strength & Longevity

This body mist is medium in strength. Once you spray it there’s no mistaking that scent is out into the world! It’s obvious, it’s distinctive, great noticeable strength but not headache inducing. Longevity is much better than what I thought it would be. I very rarely apply fragrance directly onto my skin. Most of the time it’s applied onto my clothing. This lasted. I used this first thing in the morning before work and a good 5 hours later I could still smell it, clearly, on my clothes. Was it exactly the same strength? No. But not massively weaker and it didn’t need to be reapplied.

    Recommended?

I love this body mist! I like the size this comes in because it’s easy to throw into my bag. The scent is fabulous, and ties in so well with Autumn which makes this being limited edition a good choice. Not only does it smell great but the strength and how long it lasts is worth even the full price of this but more so the price I paid! If you love your fragrances to have citrus, musky, woody, slightly spicy depth to them in a slightly sweetened feminine way…BUY THIS!

  • New Autumn Home Fragrance products In Aldi

FINALLY, stores are really pumping out Autumn inspired home fragrance products! Autumn is my favourite season and so are the scents that come out to celebrate it. There is nothing nicer than being all curled up, cosy and comfortable at home with beautiful fragrances floating through the air making your house feel like a home. So what has supermarket Aldi released to help give home fragrance lovers their Autumn scent fix?

Aldi’s Autumn inspired home fragrance products
    Purewick Reed Diffusers

100ml in size, Purewick Reed Diffusers are packaged in such a fun, different Autumnal way than other products. All diffusers are boxed but with very simplistic shapes on them e.g scarves, hats, gloves etc. £3.99 each.

    Reed Diffusers
    Purewick Wax Melts

I got confused from the first glance as these looked like tea lights. Each pack contains 8 wax melts, with the colour of the melts matching the colour of their packaging. Great packaging thanks to illustrations on them. £2.49.

    Wax Melts
    Purewick Tealights

These tealights look a little more special compared to everyday tealights. Rather than being shrink wrapped in plastic, like the rest of the range at Aldi, these come boxed. Contains 24 tealights at a cost of £2.49.

    Scented Tealights
    Purewick Pinecone/Pumpkin Shaped Wax Candles

Each box contains 3 wax candles, either shaped as pinecones or pumpkins. Each candle is shaped the same but slightly different colours. The pinecone candles are different shades of brown and the pumpkins different shades of orange. I gave each version the sniff test and nothing, so I’m assuming they aren’t scented, but they still look great! £3.49.

    Shaped candles
    Fragrances

The wax melts, tealights and reed diffusers all come in three different fragrances: Pumpkin Spice, Autumn/Woods and Toasted Marshmallow Fireside. All of them smelt nice and suited their fragrance names and the Autumn season.

    First impressions?

The packaging of each of these products is sooo good! You would never guess they were from a supermarket at the price they are being sold for thanks to how they are presented. Great choice in scents, perfect for Autumn. Would I buy any of these? Maybe a reed diffuser. As usual, if you want to grab your hands on any of these home fragrance goodies, you have to be quick and visit your local Aldi sooner rather than later!
