  • Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Fairy Godmother Bath Bar

I don’t think you need a special event or day to give a gift, whether that’s a gift to yourself or someone else. But there are certain times when people do want to mark a special occasion and give out thoughtful tokens and presents. With Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day only around the corner, I wanted to make some suggestions of some products that would put a smile on someone’s face (or your own). So let’s focus a few minutes on on Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Fairy Godmother Bath Bar. I bought this last year and it costs £3.99 for a full bar, or £1.99 for half.

    Fairy Godmother Bath Bar
    Why did I buy this?

For myself to indulge in a bath or ten of course! I made one order from Dirty Fresh Cosmetics last year which included various bath products. I love bath bars because they are a little different from a typical bath bomb. The look and description of this was very appealing and I just thought it sounded like something I would like.

    What does this look like?

Rectangular in shape and takes up the whole length of my palm. So this is a really good sized bath bar. An eye catching mix of white, a purply/pink colour and a slightly paler shade of that. These three strands of colour make wavy stripe patterns going across this bar. It has a solid and chalky like texture to it.

    Fragrance

My first thought when I gave this a sniff was how it reminded me of a bag of sweeties. Not just one type but literally a mix of them. Sugary and fruity but not too much and very pleasant. Not a pungent, in your face scent, but there.

    In the bath

I popped this on top of a bath that was already filled with warm water, and wow did this bath bar enjoy the swim (and so did I!). It moved around, it bubbled and it fizzed. The colour coming from this was insane! Streams of purple and white foam came out of this, making the water so vibrant and eye popping, it was amazing!

The fragrance was there. It didn’t make a massive impact by being strong, but it was there. Not too soft and identical to what I smelt before it went into the water. I enjoyed it. And yes, for me, it could have been stronger. Not every bath product should or need to be a fragrance power house but my nose can handle more. Would this have been stronger in scent if I had used this straight away when purchased? No idea. But the overall quality of this bath bar overall was very good.

Getting out of the bath, mind, body and soul was totally relaxed. My skin has been a little temperamental of late, but this bath bar didn’t cause it any issues. Importantly, it didn’t dry my skin out.

I’ve used quite a few bath products from Dirty Fresh Cosmetics and I’ve enjoyed each and every one of them. Price wise this isn’t expensive and priced quite well considering what it is and the size of it. And there’s a more affordable option of buying half a bar, which is still enough for one bath. It looks and smells great and creates a really enjoyable bathing experience, which is what anyone wants from this type of product. If you were to slip this into a hamper with other pampering goodies, or give it solo, for any bath lover they would love this the way I did I believe. So why would I NOT recommend this? Did I also mention what a pretty bath this created?

If you love you bath art this is one for you and you can get it from their website here. If you’re looking for bath products, specifically Valentine’s Day themed, they do have a collection available as well.

  • Bubble Up Sail Away With Me Bath Bar

One of the things I look forward to late afternoon or evening time is having a bath. Especially if the day has dragged, the weather is rubbish and it’s been a hard day at work. Do I have a favourite bath product? I like lots of different ones but which one ends up in the bath is dependant on my mood and skin needs. I decided to use an item I have tried before but in a different fragrance. Bubble Up Sail Away With Me Bath Bar was the most recent item of choice. I bought this from my local ASDA store ages ago for less than a pound!

Bubble Up’s Sail Away With Me Bath Bar

    Why did I choose this?

I bought this originally because I tried another fragrance in this bath bar and absolutely loved it! The fact that this was scented differently to my first purchase and super cheap, seemed a sign from above to buy it so I did. But choosing to use this was because I hoped for something fresher and cleaner in scent. I also wanted an extra hit of moisture to my body since my skin really needed it.

    Packaging.

This bath bar comes in a small cardboard box. Green, white and black in colouring. Very simple and does remind me a little of a certain high street brand that sells bath bombs! What I like is there is a clear window at the front where you can see the bar, so you have an idea of what you are going to get.

    How the bath bar looks.

Rectangular in shape and quite long, roughly 9cm. 5cm in width and 2 cm in depth. So size wise chunky, generous and you could easily get two baths out of this bad boy! This is made up of two colours which is mint green and an aqua blue. These are in stripes going across, but each section of colour is slightly rounded at each end giving it an interesting look. Besides that, it’s flat on the other 4 remaining sides. A little chalky in texture as a bath bomb, but not as much.

    Fragrance.

It’s not very strong when sniffing this straight out of the packaging. But it definitely has a fresh and clean scent to it. Delicately earthy in a plant type way but is a little sweet too. Swimming in a salty lagoon, filled with plants on the bottom of it. Having fully opened flowers close to land with it’s scent being carried by a wind close to wear you are floating. All of these elements hit the nose. THAT is what I think of while getting this scent. Very pleasant and exactly what I had hoped this would smell like.

    How to use.

Crumble some of this under warm running water and off you go!

    In the bath.

I didn’t use all of this I snapped it in half, which was surprisingly easy to do considering it’s thickness. As the hot water tap ran, I popped this under it holding it at first, then I released it so it could enjoy it’s new home. You could see the bar itself froth a little, but the most noticeable thing was the foam it produced. There was a really good amount in the bath tub. White, fluffy foam and underneath it the water turned into a beautiful shade of blue.

Fragrance wise it was delicate but more obvious when the bar was used. The scent was the same and incredibly pleasant and relaxing to experience while I sat in the middle of my very own froth covered sea. The strength was actually perfect because it was soothing and in the background rather than full and heavy on the nose.

This bath bar on the skin was so moisturising! I know this sounds crazy when you are sat in water but even between the hands I could feel this contained something like a butter or oil. It left my hands feeling soft and nourished. That’s how my whole body felt while using this. The foam, the fragrance, the colour and the hydration made me enjoy this bath so much! So much so I got out having to get one kid from after school club, left the bath, and hopped back in on my return to continue loving it!

    Recommended?

This range reminds me not judge a book by it’s cover! I remember seeing these products in my local ASDA thinking they probably weren’t the best. I took a chance purely because they were so heavily discounted and only then after use did I realise how good the first bath bar was. The look of this is appealing. The size is generous considering I only used half of this. The fragrance was lovely. Foam created was a great amount AND this was soft, gentle and moisturising to the skin.

If whoever is reading this gets a chance to buy this, please do! This is recommended 110% It’s a shame ASDA appear not to stock this anymore. But fear not! I’ve found this and a decent selection of bath goodies from Bubble Up available from The Perfume Shop. This bath bar is available for £4.49 and can be found here. If you are a lover of a good bath bomb, I doubt you wouldn’t love this! Enjoy and happy shopping.

  • Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Over The Rainbow Bath Bar

Cooler temperatures in the UK at the moment are very much welcomed by me. Feeling hot and sweaty all the time morning, noon and night, is not fun. Right now I can enjoy my bathing routine, relax and unwind, without continuously wiping away a sweat moustache or mopping up a dripping hair line. So is it time for a bath time treat? Oh yes I think it is! I couldn’t resist using Over The Rainbow Bath Bar by Manchester based Dirty Fresh Cosmetics. It costs £3.99, but I bought this earlier in the year when there was a special promotion on the website.

Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Over The Rainbow Bath Bar

    What’s a Bath Bar?

I think a bath bar is similar to a bath bomb, just in a bar shape! Like most bath bombs, these should provide colour, fragrance, and create an enjoyable bathing experience.

    What does it look like?

I love the look of this! The thing I find with bath bombs, fizzers, bubble bars etc, is look wise they need to be eye catching. They have to grab my attention and the better they look, the more chances it has for me to buy it. And what I like about this is it’s not intricate in look but attention grabbing it is! Rectangular in shape and quite chunky (8.5cm in length, 5 cm in width and 3 cm in depth).

Its made up of 3 block colours of a pinky purple, blue and orange. Each one layered on top of one another, in a handmade, natural, rock forming kind of way. On the top it’s green but with little multi coloured dots on it made up of the same colours as the other layers of the bar. Who wouldn’t want to use this in the bath??

    Fragrance.

I didn’t get much of a scent from this. What I did get was slightly fruity and creamy. Do bare in mind I’ve had this bath bar hidden away for months, which may have affected the fragrance and it’s strength.

    In the bath.

Wow! Talk about fizz, whirl and pop! As suggested on the website, I filled my bath with warm water and then popped the bath bar on the top. What it did was show what the meaning of bath art really is. It fizzed as soon as it touched the water. And with that fizzing action, streams of colours were released from it forming it’s own rainbow. All the colours featured in the bath bar before it went into the water was what was visible, purple, blue, orange and green. Absolutely stunning!

No bubbles were created, just a little foam as the colours came out due to the bath bar’s fizzing action. And once the colours had settled, the water itself turned into such an inviting, shade of emerald green which was unusual and very Loki like!

Still didn’t get much fragrance, only slight, but this didn’t bother me as I was enjoying the bath itself way too much. It was relaxing, and provided me with the perfect time to read my book!

    On the skin.

My skin has been a little strange of late. Generally fine on the body, but the most recent heat wave in the UK has made specific areas raised, and incredibly itchy. Thanks to a steroid cream, lots of moisturising and cooler temps, its in such better condition. But it’s still something that I’ve been cautious with when it comes to what it comes in contact with. And this has created no issues at all. No irritations, no drying out the skin or anything!

    Recommended?

For the look, size of this (130g, great amount of bath bar), how it looks in water and how gentle it was on the skin, it’s a definite yes! Price wise, if you were to get something similar from a well know bath bomb shop on the high street, this would cost much more. So great value and affordable. What I would want to do is get another one of these and use straight away, just to double check the fragrance. If the fragrance is stronger, then I’m buying these in bulk!

  • Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Bedtime Bath Bar

When do you have a bath? Mornings? Evenings? When you feel poorly, tired or sore? And how many baths do you have per week? One? Two? I have one everyday in the evening and dare I say sometimes two…and will still have a shower in the morning before work! It’s part of my routine and a must to finish my day as it helps to get my body and mind right. So I thought it was time to try out something new and from someone new. Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Bedtime Bath Bar is a bath time treat I’ve recently used. I bought this a few months ago when there was a special promotion. This 130g bath bar costs £4.15.

    Dirty Cosmetics Bedtime Bath Bar

Why this one? I bought a selection of different bars based on the scent descriptions and what I thought I would like. But my reason for using this one was because I wanted something that was relaxing and able to chill me out. With the name Bedtime I thought it was the perfect choice!

What’s a bath bar? My definition of a bath bar is a simple one. It provides the same bathing experience as a bath bomb but, in my opinion, a bath bar tends to be a little more moisturising than a typical bath bomb. And of course are bar or block shaped!

Packaging. The bath bar was wrapped in clear plastic with labelling on both front and back.

Appearance. This is a good, chunky bath bar! Size wise this took up most of the palm of my hand. Rectangular in shape with a texture in look and feel comparable to a bath bomb, so chalky and grainy. Beautifully two toned in colour with streaks of purple running through blue.

Scent. Exactly how it’s described on the website, I got lavender and vanilla. It’s not that heady, smack you in the face lavender. You can smell it and the herbal feel of it is there but it’s not strong. The vanilla gives it a little creaminess but it’s not sickly sweet. A lovely fragrance combo which overall was subtle. * Something to note here. Having hay fever means my nose is exceptionally stuffy, so will need to revisit the strength of scent of this bar at some point. Although I can get the scent, strength may not be picked up accurately*.

How to use. Rather than let warm water run and popping this in the bath, Dirty Fresh Cosmetic suggest to run a hot bath and then place the bar on top.

In the bath. I did as the directions suggested, I popped this on top of a very warm, filled bath. And boy oh boy did this fizz! Sound wise you could hear it cackling away. Visually you could see small bubbles flowing off it while it released eye catching, mesmerising streams of purple and blue along with foam. I have to say this was one of the most stunning and vibrant baths I have ever seen to date! The foam that was created wasn’t a huge amount and didn’t stick around for a long time. But what it did do was leave a deep, blue/purple bath which was still incredibly impressive!

The fragrance came to life as soon as this made contact with the water. During bath time the fragrance was there but very much delicate and in the background.

On the skin. In the bath this bath bar didn’t strip my skin, in fact it had a light moisturising element to it. Out of the bath my skin didn’t feel dry and I wasn’t craving body lotion straight away.

Clean up. I have never had a bath that was such a deep and dark colour as this one. Some people worry how the clean up is after, and I have to say no different to any other bath time. No staining AT ALL, I washed the bath as normal and absolutely no issues.

Recommended? If, like me you love your bath products, this is one bath bar you HAVE to try out so it’s a yes from me! Good size, great look to it, fair price and the bath art you get is INSANE! I thoroughly enjoyed this bath! It provided everything I needed from it and was an absolute joy to use. On my repeat purchase list and I want to try out more products from Dirty Fresh Cosmetics for sure!

If you love the sound and look of this bath bar, go check it out on their website here. Dirty Fresh Cosmetics have lots of other bath bars in different scents and colours available to suit everyone’s taste. I am known to be an enabler, so I suggest you grab a few while you are there!
