  • £1.50 Primark’s PS Raspberry Ripple Bath Bubbles

I didn’t think it was possible but I’m spending more time in the bath than usual. Winter was made for hibernation and I hibernate quite well in the tub. More baths mean more bath products because if you know me, a plain bath just won’t cut it! So I’ve dragged out Primark’s PS Raspberry Ripple Bath Bubbles I bought a few weeks ago to use in my night time bathing ritual. The cost? £1.50.

Primark’s PS Raspberry Ripple Bath Bubbles
    Why did I buy this?

I bought this along with Primark’s PS Candy Cane Kisses Bath Bubbles because they both looked and smelt good. These must have been newi-ish as I hadn’t seen them before so I wanted to give them a go.

    How does this look?

Shaped like a heart, Primark’s PS Raspberry Bath Bubbles is flat on the back and slightly rounded on top. There are two colours merged in this which is a deep purple/aubergine and off white. Size wise, this is impressive as it takes up most of the palm of my hand and is very solid in feel.

    Fragrance

Imagine a raspberry/berry flavoured sweet. This is how this smells. It’s sweet, red berries in fragrance and mouth watering. Does it smell like actual fruit? No. This is definitely the fake, sweetie version. But you know what? It smells good!

    In the bath

I halved this and crumbled it under warm running water. It was quite hard and not the easiest or quickest thing to do. So not ideal for those with issues with their hands. But once broken up it immediately created foam and a little colour in the form of a pink hue. Fragrance was there but light. I wish it was stronger because I like the fragrance but grateful for something rather than nothing.

The bath itself was absolutely fine and I liked the time spent in it. The bubbles lasted awhile although there wasn’t loads, and the colour added to the water was a nice touch. With cheaper bath products I always worry how they will react to my skin but this was ok. My skin didn’t react to it, no drying out or irritation.

    Recommended?

Although this isn’t perfect I would recommend this. Why? Generous size which means you get two baths out of it rather than one. It looks great and fun. It smells nice and creates some bubbles and colour. Not to mention how much this costs which is great if you want a cheap bath treat that doesn’t mess up your skin (or bath!). Good stocking filler for a bath lover, a decent bath treat for yourself or a nice addition to a group of smaller gifts for someone. But if you want something that provides tons of bubbles, colour and fragrance, this won’t be for you!

  • A Very Festive Primark’s PS Candy Cane Kisses Bath Bubbles

I promised myself I wouldn’t buy anything bath related from Primark again. And here I am getting sucked into their beauty department by their colourful bath bombs, fizzers and bath bubbles. Why did I NOT want to buy anymore from this department store? I’ve tried some products before; thought they were ok but could have performed better. But I spotted some new ones I hadn’t seen before and into my basket went Primark’s PS Candy Cane Kisses Bath Bubbles, which cost £2.00.

    Why did I buy this?

The shape, colour and size immediately caught my eye. Very festive in look, sizeable and I had a quick sniff of it, and it actually smelt quite nice. SOLD!

    What’s a Bath Bubble?

I would say these are similar to a bubble bar. These tend to crumble; bath bombs are chalky. They tend to produce bubbles which some bath bombs and fizzers don’t, they fizz. So different texture in feel and gives a different bath compared to a typical bath bomb.

    How does this look?

This is shaped as a five-pointed star. Simple shape, chunky and solid in look and feel. This is made up of two colours like a traditional candy cane which is red and white. There are no stripes in or on this though. The colours are randomly placed on this, which gives it a handmade feel. It’s not the prettiest bath product I’ve had but there’s something about this that makes me WANT to use it, and that’s down to how it looks. Did I forget to mention this is also MASSIVE? This takes up most of the palm of my hand.

    Fragrance

I’m going to be honest. Fragrance has been a letdown for me when it comes to bath fizzers/bath bubbles I’ve used before from Primark. So, I had no idea whether this would be the same. But smelling this in the store while it was in its wrapper gave me a hint of hope. What I got was a slightly minty but sweety berry like fragrance which I have to say is very nice and works well with the candy cane theme.

    How to use

Crumble this under warm running water. Which I forgot to do and dropped it into the bath like a stone!

    In the bath

I forgot what I was using and just threw half of this into the bath which is a no no! This needs to be crumbled under warm running water. By the time I remembered this was very wet and I found it hard to break it up. But when I did, it immediately created bubbles. They weren’t big, but enough to make the bath look inviting.

The fragrance was there although soft, but noticeable. I found this fragrance was much better than other bath bombs/bubbles/fizzers I’ve used from Primark. Could it have been stronger? Oh of course! It was still enjoyable though and a lovely scent.

By the time I got out of this bath the bubbles had disappeared but they were there for a while. And the bath water had turned into a light shade of pink. The fragrance I could still smell, but still subtle. Overall, this created a nice bath which I wish I could have stayed in longer. My skin wasn’t dried out or uncomfortable. The only thing I would like to change about Candy Cane Kisses Bath Bubbles (well two things), is for the fragrance to be a little stronger. And for it to effortlessly crumble so my hand doesn’t hurt!

    Recommended?

I really liked this bath bubbles! I loved the shape, size, colouring and fragrance of it. Very festive in look which makes it a great stocking filler. And let’s not forget about the price! For £2.00 you get a BIG sized bath product which I halved. This was easily for 2 baths not just 1 which gives excellent value. As I’ve already mentioned, if this was stronger in scent (my personal taste) and crumblier, this would fantastic. But I would still recommend this, and I’m tempted to buy myself another one asap!
