  • Want a Glow Up? Beauty Laundrette’s Radiate & Glow Sheet Mask

There’s so many skincare products on the market these days. Which ones should you purchase? There’s one product I’ve found that’s easy to say yes or no to and that’s a sheet mask. The reason why I buy them is because they’re bit of fun and perfect for pampering. They’re not used on a daily basis and what I want is a hit of hydration and to make my face ‘look’ and feel better on a temporary basis. I’m confident most people buy these for the same reasons as me. I bought Beauty Laundrette’s Radiate & Glow Sheet Mask from Superdrug last year when it was half price. This usually costs £3.00.

    Why did I buy this?

The range was new to me at the time and consisted of bath, body and a bit of skincare. So I decided to buy bits from all of these areas. They were on promotion so great price, I liked the product description and each piece looked appealing, including this sheet mask.

What is this supposed to do?

This sheet mask is designed to hydrate, smooth the skin and give it an overall better, radiant appearance.

    Packaging

Like most sheet masks this comes in a a packet. What I love about how this looks is it’s fun! It’s pale pink with red detailing and the front looks like a washing machine. It stands out, it’s different and ties in perfectly with the brand.

    How to use

Unfold mask, place it onto the skin and leave on for 15 minutes. Pat serum into skin that remains or wipe off with a cotton pad.

    Fragrance

I expected this mask to smell like the other products I’ve used from Beauty Laundrette. The body mist, bath fizzer and body wash all had the same scent. This doesn’t. This mask definitely has a floral fragrance to it. It reminds me a little of cherry blossom but a little more plant like rather than flower, if that makes sense? It smells really nice.

    In Use

When I took this sheet mask out of it’s packet, I have to say this literally was DRIPPING in serum/solution! I left a physical trial of it as I opened it in one room and then dashed to another to apply it. It was soaking in solution, exceptionally moist and wet. It wasn’t too hard to unfold this. The shape and look of this is quite typical of sheet masks.

When I put this onto my face it clung to it with ease. No wonder with it being so wet! The mask sat on my face very comfortably and the moisture was an absolute joy to experience. Very cooling and relaxing.

I did worry the fragrance would be too much. Despite the fact I actually like it, any fragrance sat on the face for a while can be a turn off. I had no issue with this but a fragrance free version would be a hit in my opinion.

    Skin afterwards

Taking this off I was surprised how much serum was still on my face. There was a lot! And I was happy about this! I patted as much as I could into my skin while drawing some of it down to my neck and left the rest to sink in. My skin felt incredibly moisturised. Not caked in a heavy solution but there was an obvious layer of something on my skin. Touching my skin it did feel tacky but what would you expect with so much serum/solution left behind?

Did my skin look massively ‘radiant’? It looked shiny! Healthy..possibly? NOT dry but well moisturised! This wasn’t sinking in quickly after application so left it to go to bed.

The morning after the night before

My skin looked and felt rested, very smooth when touched. It still felt hydrated but not in the ‘covered with a layer of serum’ way it did when this was applied. Totally matt and ready for the day ahead.

    Recommended?

Yes! This is standard price for sheet masks so not costly, and this range are regularly on a promotion in Superdrug (so even better!). So there’s no issue with cost. Packaging is super cute and the mask itself is crazily hydrated and nice to wear and use. I wouldn’t recommend this if your skin has issues with fragrance or you don’t like the feeling of a layer on your skin (although you could remove the excess as suggested). But I would buy Beauty Laundrette’s Radiate & Glow Sheet Mask again in a heartbeat, especially during a heatwave!

  • Beauty Laundrette’s Cotton Smooth Micellar Body Wash

The thing that I love about bath and shower products, such as a bath soak or shower gel, is there’s so much choice! Not just choice in regards to fragrance but also price points too. You could literally spend pennies on the cheapest supermarket own brand formulation or go credit card crazy on the most expensive stuff from a department store. But how about meeting in the middle price point wise? Let me introduce to you Beauty Laundrette’s Cotton Smooth Micellar Body Wash. I bought this last year from Superdrug. Normally £6.00 for 275ml, I grabbed this when it was half price.

Beauty Laundrette’s Cotton Smooth Micellar Body Wash
    Why did I buy this?

I bought a few things from this brand because it was a new range to me at the time. The packaging was different and stood out, good mix of products available and priced very well. This body wash I thought could be used by myself and other members of the family in both bath and shower. And to be honest, it just looked and sounded so appealing!

    Packaging

I love the overall style of this range and I like how this body wash is packaged. 275ml lives in a soft pink coloured plastic bottle with contrasting red lettering on front and back. It’s not typical in shape. It’s narrow in depth, decent height with sightly rounded edges close to the top and bottom. Pump dispenser top which makes using product easy and controlled. This looks great, modern and cute. But doesn’t come across too young, so I don’t feel it’s just going to target a younger market.

    Fragrance

A beautiful slightly sweetened white floral fragrance. Fresh, Spring/Summer type of vibe and not old fashioned in anyway, shape or form. Florals can be dated in scent but this is pretty and pleasant on the nose.

    In Use

I use this both in the shower and bath. In the shower, with my trusty sponge, it lathers up well. Nice to use, effective in cleaning my body and the light fragrance is enjoyable to smell.

In the bath, I won’t lie, I’m very generous when it comes to how many pumps of this I use. I’m just not a sparing person when it comes to bath soaks, bath gels, creams etc. But regardless of how many pumps of this I use under warm running water, this creates plenty of bubbles which stay in tact and are present for most of my bathing experience (min 20 minutes in the tub). Fragrance is there as it is in the shower. Now, if I had to choose between a powerful fragrance or a subtle one, I would probably go powerful. BUT there are times I can’t and don’t want that. Soft but there fragrance definitely describes this one. It’s noticeable but gentle, and great when you don’t want a plain smelling bath but can’t be bombarded with strong scents.

This product didn’t dry out my skin or irritate it. I also noticed the fragrance wasn’t sitting on my skin after use either.

    Recommended?

I like this body wash for quite a few reasons. The packaging looks great and is practical. It’s good for all the family to use and no one in theory will overuse it thanks to the pump. The scent is pretty but clean and light. And when I say this is a blessing when you don’t feel well and your sense of smell is heightened or head is sensitive, I mean it. Plus this works well in both shower and bath and creates bubbles, so what more do you need?

Recommended? Yes! Is it the cheapest on the market for a body wash? No, but it’s also not the most expensive either. If this sounds like something you want in your bathroom, always keep an eye out for when this is on special offer. Currently at time of writing this there’s 1/3 off the whole Beauty Laundrette range at Superdrug, including their Detox Dip Bath Fizzer which I adore! So go treat yourself and save some pennies here!
