So many people love using wax melts. They’re such a good way to fragrance a room and home, with a huge variety of fragrances and wax forms available everywhere. The good thing about them is on the whole they aren’t expensive and are really affordable. One of the cheapest wax melts I’ve bought was James & Co Fragrance’s Berries Wax Melt from Home Bargainsfor only 49p! How did I find it?
James & Co Fragrance Berries Wax Melt
Packaging
Berries Wax Melt comes in a small, cardboard box with an opening on the front so you can see the wax. I like the fact this is cardboard and not plastic. It looks good and is different to the usual packaging wax melts come in.
The wax itself
This wax melt comes as a wax melt snap bar. Purple in colour, chunky and made up of 6 segments that need to be snapped off for use.
Fragrance
This is a mix of sweet fruity berries. Quite simple in scent and predictable, but nice.
Strength & Longevity
I used two of these segments in a wax warmer in the hallway. Once melted, the area got the scent coming through, but it wasn’t particularly strong. So I would say strength is low. Longevity wise it wasn’t fully tested to be honest. Since the strength wasn’t there and the fragrance wasn’t too obvious, I simply turned my wax warmer off. The scent was nice but not strong enough to stay on for my needs.
Recommended?
Price and packaging wise this is a great wax melt. The wax melt itself has a good scent to it but honestly I’ve smelt better and stronger. Would I buy this again or recommend it? No, not in this fragrance. But I would happily try another fragrance to see if the strength comes through better.
Warm weather does not put me off when it comes to my evening bathing ritual. Sunny, scorching, 100 degrees outside? I don’t care! No matter what, I will be sat in my bath tub like Ariel swimming under the sea! It’s a part of my daily routine and a way to relax, regardless of feeling as if I’m being poached alive. But with it being Summer, I thought I would drag out a bath product that in my opinion reflects the season because of its fragrance. The Body Shop’s Berry Bath Blend seemed a perfect choice. £8.00 for 250ml.
The Body Shop’s Berry Bath Blend
Why this one?
I’ve used the Banana Bath Blend and loved it. I’m a lover of fruity fragranced products anyway so why not? I have my typical bath and shower gels that I pick up from supermarkets, but then there are times I just want something a little more special, and this is that time and product!
What’s a bath blend?
The Body Shop’s Bath Blends are fairly new products. Released within the last year or two, they are designed of course to go into the bath. Be fragrant, provide foam and nourish the skin without stripping it. Part bath cream, part bath soak.
Packaging.
How this is presented reminds me of when my dad used to buy flavoured milk from the milk man! Although not in a glass bottle ( bath blend is in plastic), it has that old time milk bottle shape but with a screw top lid. Clear, so you can see the colour of the blend. The labeling matches the color of the blend itself. Very appealing and almost drinkable!
Fragrance.
Very berry! Strawberry to be more specific! But there’s a little sharpness to the sweetness of this. Also, some creaminess which makes it more balanced and rounder making it delicious in scent. I really want to drink this, as I did with the banana version, but better not!
Look & Consistency.
This is a lovely berry reddish pink colour. Totally opaque. The consistency is very unusual because it’s not a gel or a cream. Like it’s banana fragranced counterpart it reminds me of a milk based drink. Not a thick milkshake, but the more fluid ones.
In the bath.
Under warm running water, this bath blend turned the clear water into a beautiful pink coloured pool. And laying on the top of that produced a decent amount of soft, white, frothy bubbles making this bath very appealing. The fragrance was there and it smelt beautifully, but wished it was a little bit stronger because its so mouth watering and enjoyable to smell.
The bath itself was relaxing. The bubbles lasted a good amount of time and when they left, the bath water stayed pink but more cloudy. On the skin I had no issues, and it didn’t dry out my skin afterwards.
Recommended?
I like this bath blend. But between this and the banana version I’ve used before, the banana wins. Why? It’s more of an unusual fragrance compared to something berry based which is more common in bath products where scent is concerned. It’s a lovely product. Not something I would buy regularly due to price and size but a rare purchase. I would recommend this in a set form to get the best possible price, or if it’s on sale so discounted. But as a regular repeat purchase on it’s own probably not but depends on your budget. As a treat to yourself or for someone else? Absolutely!
If this fruity cocktail is making you thirsty to buy it, you can grab it in person at you local Body Shop store or online here and safe your legs the hassle of walking.
I love seasonal scents. Now it’s Autumn, I enjoy experiencing woody, bakery and warming wax melts. But despite melting according to the season, some of the time I just melt what I fancy melting! One of my more Summery wax melts I’ve been using recently is Summer Fruits from Cosy Aromas( formally Cosy Candles ).
Why did I buy this?
This is my second order from Cosy Aromas this year. I ordered a selection of small wax melts in a set called Family Favourites. These were fantastic in scent, strength and longevity and they totally won me over. So I made order number two including Summer Fruits along with a few other scents, to see what the rest of their range was like.
Packaging
Like a lot of wax I buy this comes in a lidded tub. Most wax pots I own come in two standard sizes/weights, which is between 20g and up to 50g. This whopper weighs in at 110g! Because of it’s size and weight, this is more like a small wax pie rather than a wax pot which makes this impressive.
Cosy Aromas Summer Fruits
How does it look?
I expected this to be a blood red coloured wax. Summer Fruits is orange in colour, the same shade of orange the flesh of a ripe mango is. One block colour, no glitter, no embedded chunks or swirls, very simple in appearance.
Fragrance
I could smell a juicy, sweet collection of berries from this wax melt. But there’s also a tropical twist in this scent, almost a mix of mango and peach scent. It reminded me of a packet of chewy sweets which contained a mix of flavours. Sweet and slightly tangy and totally mouthwatering!
In Melt
A small piece of Summer Fruits wax melt took very little time to warm and melt through evenly. The fragrance became stronger the longer the wax warmer was on. The wax pool became a lovely, summery orange which matched its tropical inspired scent perfectly.
Melting
Strength & Longevity
This wax melt was medium to strong in strength. It had been melted all day and afternoon for two days in my living room throwing out fragrance. With this melt being such a huge size you can imagine this would provide hours of fragrance. On Cosy’swebsite it suggests up to 100 hours of fragrance which I believe, as my slither took forever to wear out scent wise. So strength and longevity is very good even when using the smallest amount of wax.

The quality of the fragrance, wax and size is impressive. If you love fruity scents you will love this, and if you love sweetie type scents you will love this too. It’s well balanced because it’s not too sweet but sweet enough to smell heavenly! Summer Fruits isn’t just for Summer it’s good all year round fragrance. Grab yours from their website here for £5.99 and spread the berry love!
As a wax melt lover, I enjoy discovering new wax vendors to buy from. I’m very lucky to know many people who can recommend various small businesses who make and sell great quality wax. Scents From 77 was recommended to me to purchase from. My first purchase contained various wax melts including Vanilla & Berries. This cost £2.00 for 6 mini wax melts.
Scents From 77 Vanilla & Berries Mini Wax Melts
Why did I buy this?
Scents From 77 sell wax in various forms, but I love wax shapes and mini melts. No cutting or chopping required, easy to store away in a drawer and the ideal structure to mix scents if and when needed when melting. This particular scent I went for because I LOVE vanilla and fruity scents so this seemed a winning combination.
How do these look?
This pack contained 6 small mini melts shaped like basic flowers. Creamy off white in colour with tiny dots of blue and pink running through them. Simple but pretty.
Fragrance
Delicious! The vanilla provides warmth, creaminess and is very soothing. The berry element is sweet but not sickly, and of course smells fruity and mouthwatering.
In melt
I melted three of these in my electric Yankee Candle wax warmer They melted very quickly but evenly, so the scent was released superfast and filled the room well.
Strength & Longevity
This poor fragrance has had to battle against various meals cooked as it was melting away in my kitchen, but it stood it’s ground against food smells. Strength has been light to medium, with longevity good considering three of these have been melting on and off for a few days.

For a vanilla lover this is a must! It’s a beautiful fragrance with a slightly fruity twist to it. So vanilla fans, bakery and fruit lovers give this a whirl as it’s delicious. Good quality wax, perfect strength for the scent and longevity is great. And for £2.00 to get 6 mini melts is a great price and very competitive.
