  • Glade’s Limited Edition Festive Honey & Chocolate Aerosol

Each season has scents that’s associated to them. Spring scents seem to be light florals and fresh and clean smells. Summer is fruity and tropical. But autumn and winter scents are the types of fragrances that give a room or home an invisible hug. One of the newer home fragrance products I’ve picked up recently has been Glade’s Limited Edition Festive Honey & Chocolate Aerosol from Home Bargains. Was this a good buy or disappointing?

Glade’s Limited Edition Festive Honey & Chocolate Aerosol
    Packaging

This aerosol/room spray comes in the typical cylinder, tall, room spray canister most products like this come in. What actually caught my attention of this product was the label on this. Very autumnal colours in browns and gold, with a great illustration of the actual fragrance. You look at it and you can imagine what the scent smells like and you really want to try it out.

    Fragrance

This is the best bit! There’s definitely a hit of honey in this, mixed in with spices that gives it warmth and depth. There’s also some form of woody notes in this making sure that that the sweetness of this scent isn’t sickly. Is there chocolate in this? A little. I get that sort of chocolate-esq note to it, but it’s not the dominant part. Overall, this is beautiful. Cosy, warming and a very perfume like fragrance rather than a room spray.

    Strength & longevity

When I first used this the hit of fragrance was there. What I didn’t like was this doesn’t linger. I want it to linger and be long lasting. The kind of fragrance this is it starts off well but doesn’t stick around. So strength could be better but longevity even more so.

Glade’s Limited Edition Festive Honey & Chocolate and Berry Festive Kisses Aerosol
    Cost

Only £1.49 for 300ml which is a decent price for a well known home fragrance brand.

    Recommended?

Despite the fact I would love this to be punchier I still would buy this again! The scent is impressive. And if I want to smell it more I will just spray more! Could it be better? Yes. But do I love it? Yes! So if you love this type of fragrance for your home, I would recommend it. It’s affordable, it also comes in other forms such as a candle, and it’s perfect for this time of year.

  • Things I’m Doing Now For Christmas

Love it or hate it, we’re creeping closer and closer to Christmas. Some people like to start early preparing for the festive season, some feel it’s an outrage to think about it before we haven’t fully experienced autumn. I’m in the camp of liking to be prepared, time and energy willing, and this is what I will be doing now to get ready for Christmas:

    Checking what I have

I have a habit of buying things and putting them away to use for another time or bought for a ‘just in case’ situation. Before I buy anything, whether that’s gifts for family or friends or seasonal home fragrance products, I’m checking what I already have stashed away. It’s easy to overbuy or buy multiples of the same item if you don’t keep a track of what you have. Checking what I have means I know where my purchasing gaps are, what I need and what I don’t need.

    Decluttering

Who doesn’t need a good declutter? New Christmas purchases, presents and decorations mean more space is needed. So it’s a perfect time to get rid of any junk in the bin, sell items that are good quality or donate to charity.

Making lists and checking them twice

A list! Oh how I love a good list or three! I use lists at various stages. Example:

    1. What needs decluttering.
    2. What do you already have.
    3. What do you need.
    4. What to buy next and where, etc.

Lists can keep us on track and give us a sense of accomplishment, especially if there’s lots of things to do.

    Seasonal home fragrance products

I love autumn and winter fragrances. They suit the time of the year thanks to them creating cosy spaces in the home during darker and colder days and nights. This is the perfect time to stock up on these types of products to put away ready for use. I’ve already seen, even bought, some really nice fragrance products. And there’s plenty of time to buy more.

Buying Christmas stocking fillers & gifts

Checking that present draw, cupboard or stash, means you know what you have and don’t have now, right? Once I’ve done this myself, made a list and decluttered, I can now buy smaller gifts. Gifts that could be for stocking fillers, part of a collection of gifts or small one- off’s e.g teacher gifts. Every year there’s always small items I can buy easily, affordably and from anywhere, that will be make great presents. Body mists, body butters, skincare masks, wax melts, candles. These are the perfect types of items welcomed by many people I know.

    What do I WANT?

A lot of the Christmas preparation is for other people, so don’t forget yourself! If you’re buying a candle for a neighbour or teacher and you think it’s gorgeous, get one for yourself! If you’ve grabbed a body mist for your daughter and you know you will ‘borrow it’, get a second one. This is what I will be doing because I can spend so much time worrying and buying for others and not the same is being done for me.

These tips can be used for anything

What I will be doing can be used for anything. Checking what you have could be not just for presents but for food items too. Decluttering could be sorting out the cupboard under the stairs, the kids bedrooms. Christmas gifting could be a set of pjs, comic socks, a mug. All these acts are transferable. Done bit by bit, week by week, can make Christmas less stressful, more organised, cheaper and easier for us all.

So when will you be starting prepping for Christmas? I’m starting NOW!

  • My 3 Favourite Products of 2024

Now 2024 has ended, I thought I would look back on all the products I’ve used this year. Some I would happily repurchase again, some I wouldn’t waste my money on and some are now favourites of mine. Favourites to the point they impressed me, I loved using them and would buy again in a heart beat. So what were my favourite products of 2024?

My 3 Favourite Products of 2024
    Lidl’s LUSH Dupe Shower Gels

I genuinely had no idea how Lidl’s LUSH dupe shower gels would be, but I’m glad I tried them. It’s not hard to get shower gels that foam/bubble and clean the skin, but to really enjoy using them is something else. Both Relax and Honey I’m Home performed great in the bath and shower. They foamed up beautifully in the shower and created lots of soft bubbles in the bath. My skin didn’t dry out and each one cleaned my skin perfectly. But it was the fragrances that got me. Comforting, soothing, relaxing. These smell amazing, and for only £1.99 each for 500ml I would buy these time and time again (and I have!).

Superdrug’s Fruity Blood Orange Body Mist

Fruity Blood Orange Body Mist from Superdrug was a limited edition, affordable fragrance brought out for Autumn/Halloween. The fragrance itself was unusual and very different compared to other body mists on the market. Citrus, musk, spices, not a light fragrance at all but quite a deep and dark one, which I love! It only cost £1.74 at the time and I really wish I had bought more now.

Home of Honey’s 12 Days of Christmas Part 1 Wax Melts

I was gifted 12 Days of Christmas Part 1 Wax Melts from Home of Honey Candle Co. This consisted of a collection of 12 Christmas/Winter inspired scented wax melts. This set was one of my favourite products of 2024 because all of the fragrances were beautiful, great strength and great longevity. I was so impressed by this and enjoyed each melt as I used them.

Home of Honey’s 12 Days of Christmas Part 1 Wax Melts

So that’s my 3 stand out products for 2024. Were there more? Possibly. Did I love every minute using these? Definitely. Am I sad I’ve used these all up now? Absolutely! Definitely 3 great, affordable and good quality products that deserve to be in my top 3 favourite products of last year.

  • Glow’s December Bath & Body Subscription Box

This year hasn’t been a year of subscription boxes for me. Normally I’m a regular buyer of them but less so in 2024 (lets just say it’s been an expensive year!). But I have treated myself to bath, body and home fragrance business Glow’s November AND December Subscription Boxes. I bought November’s because it was Christmas inspired wax melts and December’s because it contained bath and body products, which I’ve been waiting for. So what did I get in December’s box of bath and body goodies?

    Jolly Holly Christmas Hand Wash

A fun alternative to a liquid hand wash in the form of a foaming one. Use in the same was as the traditional version, its just a different consistency. Jolly Holly Christmas Hand Wash is a seasonally fragranced product, scented with red apple, pear rhubarb, nectarine, cinnamon, caramelised sugar and vanilla.

    Silver Sparkle Body Wash

This body wash looks and sounds special. Firstly, it literally sparkles, thanks to it shimmering with fine silver glitter/pigment. Secondly, the fragrance sounds very earthy and almost aromatherapy based which is lavender, lime, rosemary and eucalyptus. And thirdly, this product is part of Glow’s Lotions and Potions sub range, which focuses on products being chemical free and more naturally based.

    Chocolate Orange Soap Sponge

Soap sponges are an easy way to wash the body. Already impregnated with soap and fragrance, these are brilliant for everyday use and gifting. The one I received was Chocolate Orange, which is the perfect scent for Winter and Christmas, with its mouth watering chocolate and zesty orange notes.

Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Sugar Scrub

Containing moisturising sweet almond oil and glycerin, this sugar scrub will make a welcome addition to my bathing routine this winter. It looks so inviting with it’s rich, creamy, almost dessert like texture, speckled with fine exfoliating pieces. The fragrance of Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread intrigues me because this is quite a combination of seasonal scents, but will they work together?

Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Sugar Scrub
Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Bubble Bar

If you want to go a step further than a bath bomb, a bubble bar is the best product to try. Moisturising, slightly foaming, fragrant, these are one of my favourite bath products ever! And that’s why I was excited to see Spiced Mint Gingerbread Bubble Bar in this subscription box. This is a decent size and could easily provide 2 baths. Perfect partner to use alongside the scrub as they are in the same fragrance.

    Cosy Blanket Room Spray

Room sprays are a form of home fragrance I’ve been using often over the last few months to provide a quick spritz of fragrance in rooms. Cosy Blanket Room Spray is a mix of vanilla, amber and citrus. So this should be a very comforting and warming fragrance.

    Extras

Glow’s subscription boxes wouldn’t be a Glow subscription box without extras! The extras included in this months were a Christmas printed scarf, a brooch, a Christmas bell and individually wrapped chocolates and jelly beans.

    First impressions?

This is a great mix of products for the bath, shower, body and even the home. Fragrances are very festive, all full sized products, products look really inviting in regards to textures and colours and the value of what I’ve received is exceptional! This subscription box cost £25.00 (including p&p) for 6 full sized products, which works out just over £4.00 each. All hand made and packaged with love and care.

Subscription boxes are limited in availability and once gone are gone, but all the products I’ve mentioned ARE available on Glow’s website here. Literally a one stop shop for all your body, bath and home fragrance needs.
