  • Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Fairy Godmother Bath Bar

I don’t think you need a special event or day to give a gift, whether that’s a gift to yourself or someone else. But there are certain times when people do want to mark a special occasion and give out thoughtful tokens and presents. With Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day only around the corner, I wanted to make some suggestions of some products that would put a smile on someone’s face (or your own). So let’s focus a few minutes on on Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Fairy Godmother Bath Bar. I bought this last year and it costs £3.99 for a full bar, or £1.99 for half.

    Fairy Godmother Bath Bar
    Why did I buy this?

For myself to indulge in a bath or ten of course! I made one order from Dirty Fresh Cosmetics last year which included various bath products. I love bath bars because they are a little different from a typical bath bomb. The look and description of this was very appealing and I just thought it sounded like something I would like.

    What does this look like?

Rectangular in shape and takes up the whole length of my palm. So this is a really good sized bath bar. An eye catching mix of white, a purply/pink colour and a slightly paler shade of that. These three strands of colour make wavy stripe patterns going across this bar. It has a solid and chalky like texture to it.

    Fragrance

My first thought when I gave this a sniff was how it reminded me of a bag of sweeties. Not just one type but literally a mix of them. Sugary and fruity but not too much and very pleasant. Not a pungent, in your face scent, but there.

    In the bath

I popped this on top of a bath that was already filled with warm water, and wow did this bath bar enjoy the swim (and so did I!). It moved around, it bubbled and it fizzed. The colour coming from this was insane! Streams of purple and white foam came out of this, making the water so vibrant and eye popping, it was amazing!

The fragrance was there. It didn’t make a massive impact by being strong, but it was there. Not too soft and identical to what I smelt before it went into the water. I enjoyed it. And yes, for me, it could have been stronger. Not every bath product should or need to be a fragrance power house but my nose can handle more. Would this have been stronger in scent if I had used this straight away when purchased? No idea. But the overall quality of this bath bar overall was very good.

Getting out of the bath, mind, body and soul was totally relaxed. My skin has been a little temperamental of late, but this bath bar didn’t cause it any issues. Importantly, it didn’t dry my skin out.

I’ve used quite a few bath products from Dirty Fresh Cosmetics and I’ve enjoyed each and every one of them. Price wise this isn’t expensive and priced quite well considering what it is and the size of it. And there’s a more affordable option of buying half a bar, which is still enough for one bath. It looks and smells great and creates a really enjoyable bathing experience, which is what anyone wants from this type of product. If you were to slip this into a hamper with other pampering goodies, or give it solo, for any bath lover they would love this the way I did I believe. So why would I NOT recommend this? Did I also mention what a pretty bath this created?

If you love you bath art this is one for you and you can get it from their website here. If you’re looking for bath products, specifically Valentine’s Day themed, they do have a collection available as well.

  • Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Pizza Me Bath Bomb

I officially declare the season for the bath bomb OPEN! It’s windy, raining a lot and the chill is finally hitting us in the North West of England. So this is the perfect opportunity to ditch the 5 minute shower and indulge in a 30plus minute bath to keep the body warm and the soul happy. Well, this is what I’m telling myself! So which bath bomb is catching my eye at the moment and dragged out of my stash? Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Pizza Me Bath Bomb. Costs £6.25, but if you know me you will know, I bought this when it was on sale so got it cheaper!

Dirty Fresh Cosmetics Pizza Me Bath Bomb

    Why did I buy this?

It was something different and eye catching from the pictures on the website. So surely it would provide an enjoyable bathing experience? I do love my bath products, more so bath bombs or similar things, to look appealing and pretty. But I also like products that don’t take themselves too seriously and scream fun, which this does.

    How does it look?

120g of a not so perfect triangle shaped bath bomb that looks similar to a slice of pizza. Orangey/yellow on top, not totally smooth with a raised rim around the curved edge creating a crust effect. The rest of the top dips with some raised deep red wonky circles giving the look of pepperoni. Turn this bath bomb around and you get the unexpected which is lots of colour! Shades of turquoise, purple and a little yellow, reminds me that this is definitely NOT for eating. If you look at my pic below you will not see a pizza slice inspired bath bomb as such, but more a deconstructed colourful bath bomb because unfortunately I broke mine just as I was taking pictures of it.

    Fragrance.

Smells like sweeties! Plain and simple! Jellybeans is what this bath bomb is supposed to be scented of and I would say yes, agreed! It’s not too strong, or overly sweet. Just enough to be enjoyable and energising and will win anyone over who loves their scents to match having a sweet tooth.

    In the bath.

I really wanted to do a fancy bath bomb drop but of course that couldn’t happen as I broke it! So what I did instead was place the three pieces of this poor battered bath bomb treat onto the surface of the bath water. Immediately there was a fizz from each and an explosion of colour. So my bath had three different areas that had three pools of a colour blast which was stunning! It’s easier to mention what colours weren’t present as pretty much every colour imaginable was there. Blue, red, yellow, pink….the list just went on and on. Absolutely gorgeous with the fragrance floating around my bathroom in a delicate fashion.

The fizzing took a few minutes to stop, and the colours after around 15-20 minutes merged to create a deep sea green bath. It was quite gentle on the skin considering mine has been playing up recently. Non drying, in fact, quite hydrating on the skin while I was in the bath. And skin absolutely fine once out.

So far I’ve used a few bath products from Dirty Fresh Cosmetics and enjoyed them all. This bath bomb being no exception. It looks great and quirky, good size, smells brilliant and the bath art it created is totally crazy! There is nothing I didn’t like about Pizza Me Bath. I enjoyed using this from beginning to end and it gave me a relaxing bath which was exactly what I hoped for. The only thing that hurts my soul about this bad boy is that I broke it!

Buy it, try it, love it here.

Cooler temperatures in the UK at the moment are very much welcomed by me. Feeling hot and sweaty all the time morning, noon and night, is not fun. Right now I can enjoy my bathing routine, relax and unwind, without continuously wiping away a sweat moustache or mopping up a dripping hair line. So is it time for a bath time treat? Oh yes I think it is! I couldn’t resist using Over The Rainbow Bath Bar by Manchester based Dirty Fresh Cosmetics. It costs £3.99, but I bought this earlier in the year when there was a special promotion on the website.

    What’s a Bath Bar?

I think a bath bar is similar to a bath bomb, just in a bar shape! Like most bath bombs, these should provide colour, fragrance, and create an enjoyable bathing experience.

    What does it look like?

I love the look of this! The thing I find with bath bombs, fizzers, bubble bars etc, is look wise they need to be eye catching. They have to grab my attention and the better they look, the more chances it has for me to buy it. And what I like about this is it’s not intricate in look but attention grabbing it is! Rectangular in shape and quite chunky (8.5cm in length, 5 cm in width and 3 cm in depth).

Its made up of 3 block colours of a pinky purple, blue and orange. Each one layered on top of one another, in a handmade, natural, rock forming kind of way. On the top it’s green but with little multi coloured dots on it made up of the same colours as the other layers of the bar. Who wouldn’t want to use this in the bath??

    Fragrance.

I didn’t get much of a scent from this. What I did get was slightly fruity and creamy. Do bare in mind I’ve had this bath bar hidden away for months, which may have affected the fragrance and it’s strength.

    In the bath.

Wow! Talk about fizz, whirl and pop! As suggested on the website, I filled my bath with warm water and then popped the bath bar on the top. What it did was show what the meaning of bath art really is. It fizzed as soon as it touched the water. And with that fizzing action, streams of colours were released from it forming it’s own rainbow. All the colours featured in the bath bar before it went into the water was what was visible, purple, blue, orange and green. Absolutely stunning!

No bubbles were created, just a little foam as the colours came out due to the bath bar’s fizzing action. And once the colours had settled, the water itself turned into such an inviting, shade of emerald green which was unusual and very Loki like!

Still didn’t get much fragrance, only slight, but this didn’t bother me as I was enjoying the bath itself way too much. It was relaxing, and provided me with the perfect time to read my book!

    On the skin.

My skin has been a little strange of late. Generally fine on the body, but the most recent heat wave in the UK has made specific areas raised, and incredibly itchy. Thanks to a steroid cream, lots of moisturising and cooler temps, its in such better condition. But it’s still something that I’ve been cautious with when it comes to what it comes in contact with. And this has created no issues at all. No irritations, no drying out the skin or anything!

    Recommended?

For the look, size of this (130g, great amount of bath bar), how it looks in water and how gentle it was on the skin, it’s a definite yes! Price wise, if you were to get something similar from a well know bath bomb shop on the high street, this would cost much more. So great value and affordable. What I would want to do is get another one of these and use straight away, just to double check the fragrance. If the fragrance is stronger, then I’m buying these in bulk!

  • Dirty Fresh Cosmetics One Mill Bath Rocks

Despite the warmer weather in the UK, who else is still enjoying their baths? I sure am. Hot, cold, snowing, sunny, I end my evening with a bath. So can you imagine how big my stash of bath bombs and similar types of products is? I’m going through my stash slowly but surely, and recently decided to grab Dirty Fresh Cosmetics One Mill Bath Rocks to use. I bought these when there was a sale on the website, but current and regular price is £4.20 for 130g.

Dirty Fresh Cosmetics One Mill Bath Rocks

Why did I chose this one?

I like the idea of bath rocks because you don’t have to use all of them, just some. Or, if you have two different fragranced ones you can mix and match. So the versatility in using them is there. The colour of these was so appealing, and I fancied something that was inspired by an actual fragrance, so I hoped for a great scented bath time experience.

    Packaging.

These bath rocks came in a recyclable white tub with a clear plastic lid.

    Appearance.

Irregular, chalky textured, rock like pieces. Various sizes and shapes. Colour wise, these are so striking! Streaks of orange, blue, purple, grey and yellow. An absolute feast for the eyes!

    Scent.

Now, this is an interpretation of a well known men’s fragrance, which personally I haven’t smelt so can’t say how close it is to this scent. But what I can do is explain how THIS smells to me. This definitely is more masculine in style because it has the strength and musky element you would associate with a male inspired scent. Strong, woody, clean and a tiniest bit sweet.

    In the bath.

I was aiming to use only half the tub of these bad boys, but tripped, nearly fell into the bath and the whole lot went in! By this point half of the bath was full with warm water, and as the rocks fell in, each one created their very own bath art by releasing various colours. First there was a sizzle, then came colour. Bursts of pink, green, blue, purple, absolutely glorious to look at! And along with the colour, the fragrance wafted beautifully around my bathroom. It was a strong in strength but not overwhelming, which I enjoyed. Back in the tub was a small amount of white, soft, airy bubbles sitting delicately over the patches of colour.

Once all the rocks had dissolved and the bright colours faded, they all combined to make a sea of deep, dark, purple verging on the black side shade. Bubbles didn’t last too long but were there for long enough.

Overall, what I got with these bath rocks was some quality time in the bath, giving me some much needed pampering and providing me with plenty of sensory treats

    On the skin.

In and out of the bath my skin felt normal and looked after. No drying out, no irritation and totally relaxed physically and mentally.

    Recommended?

Oh yesss! I adored using these, and glad I used the whole tub instead of half if I’m honest! These look so good, they created a beautifully, coloured bath and the fragrance was amazing! Add all these together, and the fact these bath rocks were gentle on my skin, make a must to purchase for any bath lover!
