  • Spookily Good Druid & The Witch’s Candy Mummy Bath Bomb?

Halloween isn’t something I celebrate but many people do. Decorations, food, costumes, lots of ghoulishly fun things are available to buy in stores and online. One thing I won’t say no to at any time of year is a bath bomb. I recently purchased a few bath and body products from a small business called called Druid and The Witch including their Double Mummy Bath Bomb in the fragrance of Candy Hearts. But the question is, was it as good as it looked or a hellishly bad bath product?

Druid & The Witch’s Double Mummy Bath Bomb
    What does it look like?

Roughly 3 inches in length and 2 inches wide, Double Mummy Bath Bomb is shaped and looks like a very cute almost cartoon like mummy. White, beady eyes with the look of it being wrapped in bandages and blood splatter like markings running around the edge. This look is mirrored on the bottom of the bath bomb because it’s not one but two bath bombs and has the typical chalky feel and look to it you would expect. These two pull a part so can either use for one bath and be indulgent or two.

    Fragrance

Druid & The Witch’s Double Mummy Bath Bomb smells just like the sweets Love Hearts. Fruity, fizzy, sweet and very energising.

    In the bath

I popped one mummy bath bomb under warm running water. As expected, it fizzed and bubbled away while producing white foam. What I didn’t expect was to see a train of deep red bursting out of the bath bomb into the water. This started off quite delicately and sparse, and then exploded into full on colour. Not a deep, crimson shade of red but more of a pinky/red which was fun to see. Although the colour remained the foam didn’t and quite quickly disappeared.

    My skin

This bath bomb didn’t dry out, irritate or cause any issues for my skin. In the same way it didn’t hydrate or add much to it but I did enjoy using it and found it relaxing overall.

    The clean up

Considering the colour the bath water became, I was worried about the state of my bath. No staining, no scrubbing needed, nothing! Anyone who uses bath bombs or other bath products which colour the water are fully aware sometimes clean up is a work out in itself but not with this one.

    Could this be better?

Although this bath bomb had a great fragrance to it, it really should have been stronger. It was faint in the bath although noticeable, but not enough.

    Recommended?

I liked this bath bomb. It looked fun, it was enjoyable to use and probably a great one for bath bomb lovers and kids alike. Despite the fact the scent of this could have been stronger, for the look of this and how it behaved in the bath I would recommend this.

This Double Mummy Bath Bomb cost £4.50, which effectively makes it £2.25 each. Brilliant price! There are so many fantastic Halloween bath bombs available from Druid & The Witch, you really are spoilt for choice. Fancy a freakishly bathing experience? • Druid and the Witch Rainbow Cloud

Bath bombs are available everywhere. Shops, supermarkets, discount stores. But how many people buy their bath time treats from small businesses who make and sell their own bath products?. I definitely do! One business I’ve bought bath products from has been Druid and the Witch. I purchased a collection of products from them including their Rainbow Cloud Bath Bomb last year. Individually this costs £2.20.

Rainbow Cloud by Druid and the Witch
    How does this look?

No surprises but this comes in the shape of a cloud. It’s flat and takes up the palm of my hand so a really good size. On the front it’s mainly white in colour with a delicate addition of light purple highlighting around the edge. There’s also a slight shimmer to this bath bomb and a hand painted silver lightening bolt shape on the left hand side of it. If you look on the bottom edge of Rainbow Cloud you can see different colours popping through ( purple, blue, yellow ) giving you a hint of what’s to come when this is added to a bath.

    Fragrance

This was labelled as Blueberry Lemon in scent. When I took this out of its plastic wrapper and gave it a little sniff there was a faint smell of something citrusy but if I’m honest it wasn’t strong or clear what exactly this was fragranced with.

    In the bath

While warm running water was filling my bath, Rainbow Cloud Bath Bomb spun round and round like a windmill. As it was turning it released streams of different colours. It wasn’t as uniformed as what I thought it would be e.g separate straight lines of colour, but colour was there. While the different colours was released ( green, purple and yellow ), some foam was created. Once the has disappeared altogether, it turned the water in the bath into a pretty sea topped off with fluffy foam.

One thing that did disappoint me a little was lack of fragrance. It was barely there. Was this to do with the fact I had this bath bomb in my stash for awhile? Too long that it lessened the fragrance of it? Not too sure. But fragrance was what Rainbow Cloud Bath Bomb was lacking.

    On the skin

No issues for me, no irritation, and I continued with my usual after bathing ritual of moisturising with a body lotion while feeling very relaxed.

    Recommended?

I would happily try this out again in a different fragrance and use straight away once purchased to see if the fragrance behaves differently. As mentioned, it was only the smell or lack of that didn’t quite grab me but everything else I enjoyed. It’s affordable, kids would love this and overall I think it was fun. So would I recommend this? I would say give it a go if you like a bit of bath art from your bath bomb.

  • Druid & The Witch’s A little Bit Of Magic Bath & Shower Whip

Having a shower doesn’t mean you have to use a shower gel or a bar of soap. The body care industry consists of so many products it’s insane! If I look into my bath and shower stash there are soaps, shower gels, scrubs, soap sponges and even shower whips. Last year I purchased a specially priced box of bath and shower goodies from a small business called Druid & The Witch. One of the first products I tried was their bath & shower whip called A little Bit of Magic.

    What’s a whipped soap?

A whipped soap is literally what the name suggests. Its not a solid bar of soap or a liquid soap, it’s a soap that tends to be of a similar consistency to thickly whipped cream. You use it the same way you would use a more traditional form of soap to clean the body in either the bath or shower.

    Packaging

100g of whipped soap is housed in a clear lidded tub and labelled. It’s nothing sophisticated, in fact it’s incredibly basic. But it does the job and has a handmade and packaged sort of look to the product.

    How does it look?

A massive reason why I love whipped soaps is how they look. This whipped soap is mid purple in colour. It literally looks like someone has piped buttercream into a tub because of the shape its made into. This really does look edible and totally inviting.

    Fragrance

It’s predominately a citrus scent, but sweet rather than zesty. Scent wise this isn’t far off from resembling a juicy, ripe peach so quite mouth watering. Fresh and almost sweetie like but not in a synthetic way.

    In the shower

I’ve only used this in the shower and not in the bath. For my whole body I could’ve used a tablespoon sized amount, but I’m greedy and used more. When I took this out, I found the texture of A little Bit Of Magic Bath & Shower Whip semi solid. Think of a body butter but a little denser and you will get an idea on how this is textured. On a sponge and under a warm, flowing shower, this lathered up beautifully and the foam was creamy, white, soft and a joy to be covered in. It cleaned my body perfectly and left my skin with it’s faint fruity fragrance. Skin after shower was clean, soft, not dry and ready to receive any other products I wanted to put onto it. And as a psoriasis sufferer no irritation, and I wasn’t desperate to follow up with a body lotion or cream.

    Recommended?

I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for a great quality whipped soap and I’ve found one! This is GORGEOUS! It looks amazing, it smells divine and my skin loved it so much I can’t wait to try the other scents.
