  • Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Body Mists

Superdrug is one of those staple stores on the UK high street that stocks a wide range of products from health care to hair care, body care to skin care. Is it somewhere I shop regularly? No. So what draws me back into purchasing from Superdrug? Price promotions and their own branded products is what pulls me in. Perfect example is their Fruity range. I recently bought two of their Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Body Mists. But why?

    I’ve used them before

Last year I bought and loved their Fruity Blood Orange Body Mist. Great price point, I loved the scent of it and it was just something a little different fragrance wise. So I already had an idea what the quality of their other body mists would be like in this range.

What did I buy & why?

I originally wanted a different scent but it wasn’t in store. So I opted for two limited edition body mists in Sour Apple and Pumpkin Spice. Both were seasonal, both appealed to me scent wise. And when I had a sniff off Sour Apple I wasn’t leaving the store without it! But why did I look at them in the first place, besides the fact I’ve used one of the body mists before? Price point! When I purchased these they were half price with Superdrug’s loyalty card which made the mists very affordable.

    Pumpkin Spice

This is the time of year when anything and everything that can be scented will include pumpkin spice as a fragrance. Superdrug’s Fruity Pumpkin Spice Body Mist is very spicy and warming in the form of ginger and a little cinnamon. Do I get much pumpkin? Maybe, but its the spices that come through more and I love it.

    Sour Apple

I can honestly say I have NEVER smelt a body mist in this scent before! It literally smells like fizzy, apple flavoured sweets. So there’s no mistaking what this fragrance is! Sweet, effervescent, zingy apple, which I love as it’s very unusual in this fragrance form.

    Worth buying?

These aren’t perfumes, so don’t expect them to have the same longevity or strength as a fragrance full of essential or fragrance oils like an eau de toilette or eau de parfum. But these are the perfect sizes to travel with (100ml), seasonal scents with Sour Apple being a revelation! And if bought while on promotion (which this range of body mists these have been regularly), very affordable! Definitely worth a buy!

Usual retail price is £3.49, but at time of writing this post half price with a Superdrug loyalty card.

  • Home of Honey Candle Co’s Strawberries & Cream Wax Melt

Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but Valentine’s Day inspired home fragrances hasn’t! When you think of this particular day you think of roses, flowers, chocolates and strawberries. The scents of these things can be found in wax melt form to provide romantic and fragrant smells for the home. Home of Honey Candle Co’s Strawberries & Cream Wax Melt falls into this category. It was gifted to me in two different wax melt forms, including a slab. So is it as good as it’s name sounds?

Home of Honey Candle Co’s Strawberries & Cream Wax Melt
    Packaging

Strawberries & Cream Wax Melt came in a small, white cardboard box with a clear window. This gives a sneaky peak of what the wax looks like. I like how this is packaged because it’s very simple but elegant and looks like its ready to be given as a gift.

    How does it look?

This wax melt is in the form of a wax melt ‘slab’. Rectangular in shape, flat and in one block colour which is soft pink. Sat on top of this is an off white strawberry shaped piece of wax with a generous sprinkling or red glitter around it. Eye catching, very appealing and beautiful in look.

    Fragrance

Sweet, fruity in a berry way mixed in with creamy vanilla. It’s a gorgeous scent that smells more like a fragrance for the body and skin rather than for the home.

    In melt

Pretty wax melts always melt in such a fun way and this was no exception. It melted slowly and evenly. Seeing the solid strawberry shape sat on the top of liquid wax was a glorious sight. What was left was was a pale pink wax pool with red glitter dotted randomly in all around.

    Strength & Longevity

I wasn’t too sure how strong this would be because the majority of fruit or food based scents aren’t powerhouses. Strawberries & Cream I assumed would be light but it was medium in strength. It started off light and got stronger, which surprised me. It was a noticeable scent, perfect strength and made my hallway smell amazing! Longevity was great. I had the same piece melting for hours and the fragrance and strength didn’t waiver.

    Recommended?

From the name of this fragrance alone this is my type of scent. But looking at how stunning this wax melt slab was and the mouth watering scent it threw out, made me love it! It’s such a great piece of wax that ticks every box, I can’t recommend it enough!

Strawberries & Cream is part of the Home of Honey Candle Co’s Valentine’s Day collection of wax and is currently discounted. Available in various forms such as the slab, wax melt snap bars and as a trio of other wax melts. All can be found here starting from the freshly reduced price of £1.25!

  • How Good is a 49p Wax Melt From Home Bargains?

So many people love using wax melts. They’re such a good way to fragrance a room and home, with a huge variety of fragrances and wax forms available everywhere. The good thing about them is on the whole they aren’t expensive and are really affordable. One of the cheapest wax melts I’ve bought was James & Co Fragrance’s Berries Wax Melt from Home Bargains for only 49p! How did I find it?

James & Co Fragrance Berries Wax Melt
    Packaging

Berries Wax Melt comes in a small, cardboard box with an opening on the front so you can see the wax. I like the fact this is cardboard and not plastic. It looks good and is different to the usual packaging wax melts come in.

    The wax itself

This wax melt comes as a wax melt snap bar. Purple in colour, chunky and made up of 6 segments that need to be snapped off for use.

    Fragrance

This is a mix of sweet fruity berries. Quite simple in scent and predictable, but nice.

    Strength & Longevity

I used two of these segments in a wax warmer in the hallway. Once melted, the area got the scent coming through, but it wasn’t particularly strong. So I would say strength is low. Longevity wise it wasn’t fully tested to be honest. Since the strength wasn’t there and the fragrance wasn’t too obvious, I simply turned my wax warmer off. The scent was nice but not strong enough to stay on for my needs.

    Recommended?

Price and packaging wise this is a great wax melt. The wax melt itself has a good scent to it but honestly I’ve smelt better and stronger. Would I buy this again or recommend it? No, not in this fragrance. But I would happily try another fragrance to see if the strength comes through better.

  • Perfect For Autumn! Fruity Blood Orange Body Mist From Superdrug

Who doesn’t love fragrance? Home fragrance, car fragrance, body fragrance. You name the type most of us love them! Different scents evoke different feelings, memories and thoughts, so no wonder it’s easy to be a fragrance junkie! Fortunately, if we focus on fragrance for the body, you can grab them at affordable prices without going bankrupt. I recently found a VERY affordable, limited edition Autumn/Halloween inspired body mist in Superdrug. I bought Fruity Blood Orange Body Mist for only £1.74 (with my Superdrug loyalty card), but without the card costs £3.49 for 100ml. Is this body mist good is it?

Superdrug’s Fruity Limited Edition Blood Orange Body Mist
    Packaging

This body mist comes in a chunky but small plastic spray top bottle. Clear and tinted orange/red with a fun looking label on the front, clearly showing what this fragrance should smell like. Personally, I don’t mind how this is presented. I like the fact it’s not cylinder shaped thanks to it’s flat sides. But the overall look doesn’t scream expensive or aimed at all ages. More on the affordable side appearance wise, but fun, and towards a younger age range.

    Fragrance

Am I the only person who doesn’t know what blood orange smells like? Well I don’t! But what I would say is Fruity’s Blood Orange Body Mist has a citrus hint to it. But is also a little spicy and musky, so is quite a dark, rich fragrance. It’s a lot more grown up in smell then how the packaging looks and I love it! How this smells is more in line with a perfume rather than a body mist, and I’m impressed. Perfect Autumn fragrance!

    Strength & Longevity

This body mist is medium in strength. Once you spray it there’s no mistaking that scent is out into the world! It’s obvious, it’s distinctive, great noticeable strength but not headache inducing. Longevity is much better than what I thought it would be. I very rarely apply fragrance directly onto my skin. Most of the time it’s applied onto my clothing. This lasted. I used this first thing in the morning before work and a good 5 hours later I could still smell it, clearly, on my clothes. Was it exactly the same strength? No. But not massively weaker and it didn’t need to be reapplied.

    Recommended?

I love this body mist! I like the size this comes in because it’s easy to throw into my bag. The scent is fabulous, and ties in so well with Autumn which makes this being limited edition a good choice. Not only does it smell great but the strength and how long it lasts is worth even the full price of this but more so the price I paid! If you love your fragrances to have citrus, musky, woody, slightly spicy depth to them in a slightly sweetened feminine way…BUY THIS!
