Aldi’s Lacura Sweet Angel Shower Gel

This product has caused a a bit of a stir because it’s a dupe fragrance wise of the Snow Fairy range from LUSH. 500ML FOR £1.79 means this is a must for any Snow Fairy fan.

    Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Hand Cream

Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Easy Hand Cream is a simple but beautifully boxed hand product. Perfect for gift giving and ideal for this time of year when many of us will suffer from dry hands. 75ml for £1.99, with ingredients including the calming lavender, eucalyptus, vetiver and jasmine.

    Calcot Spa’s Smoothing Body Scrub

I found this in my local Tesco with most of the products from this range on a promotion when using a Tesco Clubcard. This body scrub is 200ml, contains shea butter and various fruit extracts. It can be teamed up with other products from this range to make a larger gift. On it’s own it’s currently £2.00 down from £4.50.

    Calcot Spa’s Smoothing Body Scrub
Calcot Spa’s Dry Oil Body Mist

Something a bit different from the usual body moisturiser, Calcot Spa’s Dry Oil Mist comes in a patchouli and wild rose fragrance. This would team up well with the Smoothing Body Scrub.

Masking Refresh & Clean Masking Collection

Normally gift sets have a higher price point compared to the products it contains individually. But with Masking Refresh & Cleanse Masking Collection in Tesco, this isn’t the case. This set contains 4 sheet masks, 1 head band, 1 large microfibre cloth and 2 small microfibre cloths. Currently £4.00 down from £8.00 if using a Tesco Clubcard. The masks themselves are sold in Tesco and are £1.00 each, which makes this an affordable and fairly priced gift set.

Hopefully these ideas will help anyone who is struggling and possibly stressed with buying stocking fillers or smaller gifts. Make these purchases as simple as you can by throwing them into your usual trip to your local supermarket.

  • A 99p Stocking Filler, Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts

You know when you eye up something in a shop for months, pass it by, and then one day you see it and it’s reduced? What do you do? BUY IT! It really is the simple things for me that I enjoy and a good deal on bath products is one of them. Latest item I’ve bought now it’s on sale is Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts. Originally was £1.99, then went down to £1.49 and I just bought it for 99p for 300g.

    Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts
    Why did I buy this?

I love bath salts. But when I first saw this in my local store I didn’t want to pay £1.99. Despite it coming in a handy little container, I knew I could get better value weight and cost wise from other brands on the market. For 99p I thought this was much better value.

    What is this?

These are bath salts which have added essential oils and extracts to help aide with relaxation, such as lavender, jasmine and vetiver.

    Packaging

300g of bath salt live happily in a plastic screw top lidded tub. Dark blue in colour but semi translucent. This isn’t sophisticated in look but it does the job! It’s appealing because it makes me think (thanks to the colour of the tub) this will be relaxing. AND it’s practical too. You can pour out what you want to use and put the lid back on keeping the salts safe and contained.

    Fragrance

The distinctive scent of lavender and eucalyptus hit me straight away! There are other fragrances in there as well but hard to make out but they are aromatherapy like. The scent of Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts is strong but not overwhelming. And if you like lavender and eucalyptus you will love this!

How do the bath salts look?

Not like my usual Westlab ones that’s for sure! They do have that small, crystal like look to them. But rather than them being clear these are white, a little like white, tiny decorative rocks.

    How to use

Under warm running water, add a handful of salts and enjoy for 15-20 minutes.

    In the bath

I was a bit cheeky and although I added these into the bath I also poured in some Simple bath soak because I wanted bubbles. I used Simple because it’s kind to my skin and there isn’t a fragrance to this so all I could smell was the bath salts and smell it I did! Before it hit the water it was there and I loved it. It wasn’t overpowering or eye watering which these types of products can be, it was the ideal strength. While enjoying the scent this filled my bathroom with, some of the salts dissolved, some didn’t and the bath itself had bubbles (from the bath soak) and no colour.

I didn’t want to get out of this bath! Normally I use salts if my skin is playing up and irritated, so they won’t have any form of fragrance (natural or not) added to it. And they do help. With this one? It was all about being able to unwind physically and mentally which this does. I wouldn’t go for this if you are sensitive to fragrance or aromatherapy oils. But this did the job and really put me at ease.

    Recommended?

Definitely! Packaging is practical and nice for gift giving. Fragrance is fab and really gives a great chilled out bathing experience so perfect just before bed. And the price was cheap! A good quality bath product which if you can grab from Aldi would make a great stocking filler for someone who loves a bath and possibly stressed, or needs a good night’s sleep.

  • I’ve Started Christmas Shopping, What Did I Buy?

Love it or hate it, Christmas is coming! It happens at the same time every year. Some people like to be organised well in advance when it comes to purchasing gifts. Others are walking around shops wondering why they can’t get gonk covered wrapping paper on Christmas Eve. Which category do I fall into? I like to be prepared! Especially with how things are currently when it comes to the economy. So, have I bought anything yet? Maybe just a few things…

Aldi’s Lacura CBD Calming Tea Tree Sheet Mask

I know lots of people that love a sheet mask. I saw these in my latest visit to Aldi and couldn’t help noticing they were £1.99 down to 99p. Aldi’s skincare range is actually really good and perfect for those who are on a budget but want to buy quality lotions and potions. I’ve never used this mask before, in fact, never seen it before! But it will make a great addition to my collection of smaller gift items.

Better Homes & Gardens Wax Melts

I bought some of these a few weeks ago in Lemongrass & Ginger and absolutely loved them! Then I noticed they were available in another fragrance and I had to grab a few for my wax melt loving friends. Great scents, beautifully crafted and only 69p from Home Bargains.

Better Homes & Gardens Lavender & Chamomile Botanical Infused Wax Melts
Simple’s 5 Minute Reset Hydrogel Mask

One of the things I’m going to do is make up a little box of goodies for my daughter for Christmas. She’s into her fragrances and has started to use sheet masks. I’ve personally tried this one before and loved it, and for £1.69 in my local Tesco I thought this was perfect! She uses lots of products from the Simple range already, so I know they are kind to her skin, and I think she will enjoy using this.

Simple’s 5 Minute Reset Hydrogel Mask
    M&S Bath Fizzers

I found this by chance while giving up the will to live in August looking for school shoes for my children. Did I leave with school shoes? No. Did I leave with a handful of various shaped and scented bath fizzers? Yes! Originally each one was £3.50 and they had been reduced to 49p! BARGAIN!

    Lynx 12 Day Countdown Calendar

If anyone would have told me I would be buying my teenage son Lynx I would say they were having a laugh! The brand reminds me of high school. The boys would be drenched in the stuff, so I have a traumatic episode anytime I see the range. But my son likes the sprays. Is this a genetic thing that any young male MUST like Lynx? Anyway, I bought the 12 Day Countdown Calendar from Home Bargains because when I worked out the cost of each piece it’s actually cheaper to buy the set than individually (which is rare!). It includes 2 body sprays, 3 body washes, 1 antiperspirant, 1 pair of socks, nail clippers, travel bottle, charging cable, face cloth and comb. This was £6.99.

    Lynx 12 Day Countdown Calendar

So, this is me officially starting to buy for Christmas. Honestly? I don’t want to spend a fortune. When it comes to fragrance, bath, body or skincare I want to get smaller items and give as a selection to people which I think is nice and inexpensive. But I want these at the best prices which so far I’m doing quite well with!

What will be next on my to buy Christmas list? Wait..and..see..
