  • Pretty Home Aromas Wax Melt Autumn Bundle

Autumn as a season is definitely my favourite time of the year, closely followed by Winter. There’s just something about it which I love. Cooler days and nights, leaves turning from green to shades or orange, yellow and red…I just love it! I also find that when it comes to home fragrance in the forms of candles and wax melts, the more Autumnal scents really excite me. So is it any wonder that I recently bought fragranced wax melts, pots and bars from Pretty Home Aromas in their Autumn Bundle? Nope!

Why did I order this? I’ve bought wax from Pretty Home Aromas a few times in the past, and I follow them on Instagram. I’ve always found their wax pieces to stand out visually which is what attracted me in the first place to them. They released this bundle which coincided with them relaunching their brand. The released pictures of this set on their feed blew me away! Each piece looked beautiful, all the scents were the type I would happily melt and the price was outstanding. £19.99 including delivery!

Pretty Home Aromas Autumn Wax Bundle

What was included in the Autumn Bundle?

4 wax pots. Scented in Fireside. Pumpkin Souffle. Toasted Toes. Peppermint Eucalyptus.

4 snap bars. Scented in Pepper, Maple and Cedar.Hot Buttered Popcorn. Cinnamon Caramel Swirl. Crackling Embers.

1 wax melt. Scented in Apple & Cinnamon.

1 large wax bar. Scented in Autumn Leaves.

2 x 80g segmented wax pots. Scented in Toasted Toes. Cosy Cuddles.

Appearance. Each piece are absolutely stunners! It’s obvious so much time, thought and love went into making these waxy treasures. Great variety of shapes and sizes from the small wriggly shaped wax snap bars to the large 80g pots loving covered in glitter with a leave shape embedded in the middle. All the colours are very in keeping with Autumn, with shapes such as pumpkins being visible and keeping up with the theme. I have to say this is one of the most stunning wax collections that’s ever graced my doorstep!

The wax pots in the Autumn Wax Bundle

Scent. So many different ones are included in this collection, but again all of them scream Autumn. All providing that cosy stay inside wrapped in a blanket feel or take a brisk walk outside type of vibe. To give you an idea on how some of these smell fragrance wise, here are a few of the scents from this collection:

Fireside. A manly base to it which is clean and fresh with a little musk and woody notes.

Pumpkin Souffle. Creamy and bakery based, with a hint of warming spices such as cinnamon with pumpkin of course in the mix.

    Pumpkin Souffle

Peppermint Eucalyptus. This has a minty coolness with a herbal base to it. Its not overwhelming or typical mint wise in scent. Think less syrupy sweet more toned down and rounded aromatherapy.

Toasted Toes. This has a delicate floral to it which makes it very pretty. A little woodiness is mixed in with it which gives it an edgy depth.

Strength & Longevity. There is SO MUCH WAX in this collection I haven’t melted it all! In fact very little of it to be honest. I don’t have enough wax warmers, time, but more importantly these are too beautiful to melt its so difficult!

Pepper, Maple and Cedar wax snap bar was a good, strong piece of wax! I really didn’t need to use much, half the bar. And goodness me the scent was magical, fresh and the perfect outdoor inspired Autumnal scent! This little piece of wax lasted a good 4 days of melting for around 15-20hrs.

Pepper, Maple and Cedar Small Snap Wax Bar

Recommended? This particular bundle/set was limited edition and probably won’t be coming back. BUT I couldn’t recommend this set or any of the individual scents and wax pieces enough! Beautifully made and presented, great scents with matching longevity and an absolute steal for £19.99 with free p & p!

Some of these pieces are available for purchase individually. But what I can say is please keep your eyes open for other bundle offers as there have been different bundles offered over the last few weeks with different themes. From bubblegum based wax scents to firework inspired wax pieces. In all honesty if you can grab any of them do it! Fantastic wax at fantastic prices! • Druid and The Witch’s Coconut & Waterfall Blooms Wax Melt

It’s Halloween! Not a season I’m a massive fan of, but I do love a good theme when it comes to home fragrance products. And I won’t say no to a Halloween themed product that will make my home smell nice. The only way I’ve been participating in this event is melting a Halloween-esq shaped wax melt from Druid and The Witch in the fragrance of Coconut & Waterfall Blooms. Was it freakingly good or a scary disappointment?

Druid and The Witch’s Coconut & Waterfall Blooms Wax Melt
    Why did I buy this?

This wax melt came in a Halloween inspired bundle which only cost £6.00. This seemed a great opportunity to try different scents, get wax melts in very cute shapes all at an affordable price.

    How does this look?

Lilac in colour and shaped like a very sweet, almost cartoon like ghost. Perfect size to pop into a wax warmer without having to break it up.

    Fragrance

Coconut & Waterfall Blooms is a delicate floral scent with a slight hint of tropical to it. It’s very pretty, very fresh and incredibly relaxing.

    In melt

The size of this wax melt is perfect for one use. The poor little ghost melted away quite quickly and left a gorgeous pool of lilac liquid wax while releasing it’s fragrance.

    Strength & Longevity

Strength of Coconut & Waterfall Blooms I would say is close to medium than light. I melted this in my kitchen and it gave the room a lovely soft fragrance. It was there, you could smell it and it was perfect strength. Sometimes you want and need something punchy and in your face, sometimes you don’t. Definitely not needed to be strong in strength for this melt. Longevity wise this has proven to be quite good. It was on over the last two days for hours, and the scent remained consistent throughout.

    Recommended?

This is my first experience with Druid and The Witch’s wax melts. Great look, perfect strength for the scent family with good longevity. What more could I ask for? A thumbs up from me and I can’t wait to try more home fragrance from this company.

  • Fragrantasia’s Blackberry Mint Wax Melt Chunk Wax Pot

There are a few things I look for when it comes to wax melts. How they look, how they smell, overall quality and price. One wax vendor that delivers well on all of these is Fragrantasia, who over the years I’ve bought various shapes, sizes and fragrances in wax melt form. One wax melt I’ve been using and enjoying recently from this wax vendor is Blackberry Mint Wax Melt Chunk Pot. So, what is it like?

Fragrantasia’s Blackberry Mint Wax Melt Chunk Pot
    Packaging

Blackberry Mint Wax Melt Chunk Pot comes in a plastic, sturdy, clear, lidded pot. Label is on the lid telling you vendor and fragrance name. It’s very basic packaging and labelling which does the job keep the wax safe, but not very eye catching.

    Appearance

There’s a reason why this is called a wax melt chunk pot. It has a base of lilac coloured wax with random and generously sized lilac coloured chunks of wax bursting through it. It’s such a simple creation in look wise but visually so pleasing on the eye!

    Fragrance

Blackberry Mint has a tart, dark berry type element to it which is softening by a sprinkle of sweetness to it. The mint side of it isn’t your typical peppermint or spearmint type of mint, but a much fresher, punchier and less sweet variety. More herbal and earthy, which really packs a punch and works perfectly with the fruity side of this wax melt chunk.

    In melt

I used a quarter of the pot, and found this melted slowly. The chunks remained visible while swirling into a sea of two tones of purple. Absolutely beautiful and made such a pretty wax pool.

    Strength & Longevity

This is STRONG! I had this on while cooking and you wouldn’t think I was cooking. It’s not overpowering but definitely has a kick to it! In regards to longevity, I’ve had this melting for roughly 7 hours over 2 days so far and it’s still kicking out fragrance. Overall performance wise is excellent!

    Recommended?

This is a very unusual fragrance for a wax melt. It’s that perfect blend of fresh and fruity which is different and not the typical scent you would think of. It smells incredible, lasts long, great strength and highly recommended if you like your fruity scents with a difference!

Unfortunately, Fragrantasia no longer makes wax melts so this wax melt chunk pot isn’t available. But if you do find a wax melt with this killer scent combination somewhere else, give it a try!

  • The Body Shop’s Salted Caramel & Vanilla Reed Diffuser

Years and years ago I went through a stage of using air freshener plug ins. I spent a small fortune on them, but that was my preferred way to fragrance my home at the time. Then it was candles. But I worried about leaving them lit so I moved from candles to wax melts. One product I didn’t really use was reed diffusers. When my kids came along I knew they would probably mess about with them thinking they were toys, so I never bothered buying them. But they’re older now and much more trust worthy ( ish ). So I decided to treat myself and buy The Body Shop‘s Salted Caramel & Vanilla Reed Diffuser for £16.00 last year.

The Body Shop’s Salted Caramel & Vanilla Reed Diffuser

Why this one? In the past year I’ve discovered The Body Shop have a wide variety of products. I’ve bought and tried many and found myself loving and enjoying them. The quality of products so far I’ve used have been high and I wanted to venture into their home fragrance range. This scent I went for is classic me. I love my bakery scents, sweet scents and visually I thought a reed diffuser would look nice in a room.

What’s a reed diffuser? A reed diffuser is normally a bottle that contains fragranced oil, with tall and thin reeds placed into it. As they sit in the oil, the reeds suck up the oil and release fragrance into the air.

Packaging & look. The diffuser comes in a slender tall box with the colouring and design reflecting the fragrance. All relevant information needed is on the packaging e.g scent description, instructions, ingredients etc.

The diffuser itself comes in two parts. Six reeds, and 125ml of fragranced oil housed in a short and wide glass bottle which is lidded. The lid has a hole in it to place reeds in. A cap covers the hole once you remove the lid, so the oil is contained when not in use. Looks very typical of this type of fragrance product. Very simple, stylish and elegant. I think visually it makes a nice statement piece in a room and look wise different to what I usually would have out on display. I put this on a glass plate in my bedroom which sets this off even more so.

How to use.Pop the reeds into the glass bottle that houses the fragrance. Spread them out a little in the bottle and once a week turn the sticks to get the most intensity out of the scent.

Scent. This smells so good! I was worried if this would be weak, strong, even possibly too sweet. What I did find was that this scent was quite soft but I would walk into my bedroom thinking how nice it smelt. I wasn’t too sure where the scent was coming from until I remembered! This is a typical salted caramel scent of sorts. It has got the sweetness to it. Also an almost fudge like type tone to it. The vanilla also giving it an added creaminess. But what I got which I wasn’t expecting was a hint of floral. So overall the scent came across more perfume-esq than a stereotypical and predictable bakery fragrance. Sophisticated, warming and very expensive in scent.

Strength & Longevity. The strength of this may vary depending on the size of room or space this is placed in. But in my bedroom, which is what I would call a normal but decent size, the strength I would say is light. Don’t think light is bad as it was there and very natural in scent and noticeable. Sometimes scents shouldn’t be strong and for me this was ideal for the space it was in. Longevity wise very good. After about a week I noticed the scent was fading, and as suggested on instructions I turned the sticks around and this brought the fragrance back to life.

Negatives? Not a negative as such but something that did irritate me. When I tried to take out the cap so I could pop the reeds into the hole it took awhile, and a lot of effort. Imagine when you’re going to buy a new plastic bin or set of chairs. They’re all stacked together and the suction created by them means you’re playing tug of war to get that one item out? That’s this! Unless there’s an unknown magic or I should have turned this around a different direction or something, the only way I got this off was by using tweezers!

Recommended? If you love The Body Shop as a brand and love home fragrancing, this would be a great item for you. The scent is beautiful, it looks great and packaged nicely and perfectly for Autumn/Winter. Both packaging and scent is ideal for this time of year. But it’s not cheap. At £16.00 for me I couldn’t repeat purchase this when I felt like it. It would be a well thought out and timed purchase. Possibly a gift for someone very close to me or maybe a house warming gift for a fragrance or home decor.

I would be over the moon to receive this as a gift. If Salted Caramel & Vanilla isn’t your ideal fragrance, The Body Shop’s diffusers come in 3 other scents. Fancy trying out this perfect Autumnal scent for your home? Get your sweet smelling aroma here.
