  • New Nivea Skincare From £1.49 in Home Bargains!

When you walk into a discount store, you’re never too sure what you will see. Yes, like any store, there will be items on the shelves you see week in week out. But there’s also plenty of products new in, that might be on a shelf for a day, a week or a few weeks, and then never to be seen again. New skincare products I spotted recently in Home Bargains was from the brand Nivea. 3 different moisturisers and a serum, starting from £1.49. So, what did I find?

Nivea moisturisers (and a serum!) in Home Bargains!
    Nivea’s Tinted Day Cream

Slighted tinted in a light skin tone colouring, this moisturiser helps to even out skin tone, moisturises for up to 24hrs (is that really possibly?) and contains spf15. £1.49 for 50ml.

    Nivea’s Tinted Day Cream
    Nivea’s Soothing Day Cream

Aimed at sensitive skin, this moisturiser is fragrance free (fragrance can be irritating for some people). Helps to reduce redness, tightness and dryness, so this formulation should be soothing and comforting on the skin. Also contains spf15. £1.49 for 50ml.

    Nivea’s Soothing Day Cream
    Nivea’s Mattifying Day Cream

This moisturiser is to help those with an oily skin type. It’s designed to be light weight so not heavy or greasy on the skin, but still moisturises. Helps skin to appear and feel less oily and make the skin more balanced. £1.49 for 50ml.

    Nivea’s Mattifying Day Cream
    Nivea’s Post-Acne Marks Serum

This serum is aimed at specific skin concerns, which is dealing with acne skin and marks left by acne. This product aims to improve the look and feel of acne prone skin by smoothing it out and reducing the look of marks left after acne. Suitable for acne prone skin. This is a serum, so a moisturiser still needs to be applied after this product. £4.49 for 50ml.

  • New Skincare In Home Bargains!

If you love skincare, you will love seeing affordable and branded products in discount stores like Home Bargains. Skincare products vary in price, but those with a good eye will know a good deal when they see one. That’s why discount stores selling skincare is a popular way to buy these items. You never know what will land on a shelf and for how little. I visited my local Home Bargains store to see if I could spot anything new and budget friendly, and these are the skincare products I found:

    New skincare in Home Bargains!
Nivea’s Luminous Skin Glow Daily Liquid Exfoliant

Exfoliants containing granules are still on the market, but a more popular version is gentle acid based liquid exfoliants. Nivea’s Luminous Skin Glow Daily Liquid Exfoliant is that type of exfoliant which helps to improve skin texture and tone, reduce pores and leave skin looking and feeling fresher. This product can be used daily, and doesn’t need to be washed off. Simple and quick to use. £3.99 for 100ml.

    Pause & Glow Menopausal Skincare

Not a brand I’ve ever seen or heard of, except in Home Bargains, but some women may find these products interesting. I’ve spotted the Cooling Relief Serum Roller, which needs to be rolled onto the skin. It provides a cooling and soothing effect thanks to the rolling action, and containing aloe vera. Another product from this brand is their Soothing Eye Serum, to help smooth and lift the under eye area. Cooling Relief Serum Roller is £2.99 for 30ml, and the Soothing Eye Serum £1.99 for 15ml.

So, what do you think of these finds? Tempting? All of these are budget friendly and I like the fact they’re different types of skincare products doing different things. Anything I want to buy myself? The dark spot patches. These would be useful for me as I suffer from spots that lead to hyperpigmentation, so would be curious to see if these would work…so lets see?

  • 3 Body Products For Under £3.00 In Home Bargains!

Looking after the skin on our bodies is just as important as the skin on our faces. Thankfully, most of us don’t need a complicated 10 step body care routine. We wash our bodies, sometimes exfoliate and moisturise. Like skincare, body care products can be as simple or as luxurious as you like. But with body care products, many of us like to use this time to pamper ourselves. And thankfully, it doesn’t have to cost a fortune! Here are some affordable and budget friendly body care products found recently in my local Home Bargains:

Body Products Under £3.00 in Home Bargains!
Sor Bae Beauty’s Exfoliating Body Polishes

I love body scrubs and I love texture in body care products, so this immediately jumped out off the shelf! I found 2 different versions of this body polish (although there maybe more). Coco Colada Creme, which is a mix of coconut and pineapple fragrance. Also Watermelon Sugar, which you guessed it, is watermelon fragranced. Both of these are body scrubs which are sugar based with shea butter. This means they should exfoliate the skin, the sugar particles should dissolve so won’t be aggressive and the added shea butter should help to moisturise. £2.99 for 300g.

Sor Bae Beauty’s Exfoliating Body Polish
    Globetrotter’s Body Lotions

Whooping 500ml body lotions in various fragrances, including Mykonos (Vanilla Sea Breeze) and Dubai (Guava Granita & Amber Sunsets). Containing ingredients including shea butter, sunflower seed oil and glycerin, these body lotions are fun in theme and economical to use. £1.99 for 500ml.

    Globetrotter’s Body Lotion
    Face Facts Body Butters

These body butters have been in Home Bargains store on and off for months. They appear to sell well and come from quite a well known budget brand for skin and body care products. Containing sunflower seed oil and avocado oil, this should be a rich highly moisturising body product. £1.49 for 400ml.

    Face Facts Body Butter

So, for under £3.00 you can pick up a body scrub, body lotion or body butter and have change left over! Everyday, affordable body care products.

  • Are These Undereye Hydrogel Patches For Under £1.50 Any Good?

If you have a favourite type of skincare product, what is it? One of my favourite products has got to be under eye patches/masks. They’re an easy way to give tired looking under eyes a little more of a rested and hydrated look and feel. So anytime I see them, especially when they’re affordable, I have to buy them! My latest purchase comes from Home Bargains in the form of Popmask Skin’s Angel Eyes Under Eye Hydrogel Patches. Containing 5 pairs, this set cost £1.49. So how did they perform?

Popmask Skin Angel Eyes Under eye Hydrogel Patches
    What are these?

These under eye patches are to be placed onto clean skin. Designed to help improve puffy eyes, give a cooling effect and overall make the under eye area look and feel better (on a temporary basis). This set contains 5 pairs of patches, meaning 5 separate treatments. Fragrance, colour and cruelty free.

    Packaging

Popmask Skin’s Angel Eyes Patches comes in a black and white cardboard box. It’s only after using these patches I realised that the black images on the packaging are angel winged shaped. So very much a stand out box that caught my eye straight away on the shelf. The patches themselves, each pair, come in their very own sachet with the look mirroring the box.

Popmask’s Angel Eyes Undereye Hydrogel Patches
    Ingredients

Include sea water, pumpkin fruit, caffeine and cucumber extract.

    How do these look?

The patches themselves are quite large, black and winged shaped, just like the images on the packaging. Quite thick, with a shiny, sticky side and on the front almost felt like.

    In use

Once I took these off the clear sheet of plastic these were stuck on, I placed them on my under eye area and they were secure, not moving and very much in place. Despite these being in the fridge overnight, I didn’t feel any coolness. Although these felt very comfortable on, it was very different to any other under eye patches I’ve used before. It felt like tape had been placed on my face, with no sense of moisture or serum on them, which was an odd sensation.

Taking them off was easy to do. But I did do it gently and slowly because these really were stuck on well. My under eyes didn’t feel hydrated or rested, before or during use, just very rigid for 20mins.

    Recommended?

The packaging and the look of these I loved! Being in sachets mean these are great for travelling and keeps each pair fresh and ready for use. The design and look of the patches themselves is fun and very different. But the problem I had was there was no feel or action of any serum being placed from them to the under eye area, which you would want surely? Using these didn’t feel very pampering, or hydrating and as fun as these looked on did very little. So I won’t be buying these again. And I wouldn’t recommend them if you want under eye patches that soothe and smooth this area of your face.
