  • New Discovery! Daise Bath & Body Products in Tesco

There’s nothing nicer than seeing new products available on the high street. Sometimes too much choice can be overwhelming. But if you’re a lover of products for the face and body like I am, you won’t be overwhelmed more excited over new finds. This is how I felt when I discovered a brand called Daise in my local Tesco store. So what is Daise and what products do they have?

    Daise Bath & Body Products
    Daise

Daise is a brand that is about having fun, wanting people to enjoy their products physically and emotionally. Not a brand taking itself too seriously from what I can tell but still want to deliver good quality products. Their products include body mists, body scrubs, lip balms, bath bombs and body washes.

    Body Scrubs

It was the Vanilla Glow Body Scrub that caught my eye first in Tesco. A massive size of 510g. Packaged in a clear pot so the scrub is visible. The scrub itself looks decadent, rich in texture (I’m a texture girl) and very moisturising. In Tesco i found Vanilla Glow, Pineapple Glow and Pomegranate Glow. £8.00 each.

    Daise Vanilla Glow Body Scrub
    Body Wash

Housed in an aerosol looking can and in the fragrance Coconut Whip, this body wash definitely looked fun, interesting and a little different to standard body washes on the market. Designed to be moisturising, an effective body cleanser while leaving skin lightly scented. Daise’s Coconut Whip Body Wash costs £5.00 for 265ml.

    Daise Coconut Whip Body Wash
    Lip Balm

Packaging was eye catching for this product as I originally thought it was a bath bomb! Very Vanilla Hydrating Lip Balm aims to do everything that most lip balms do which is moisturise, easy to use and have a nice fragrance to it. This costs only £2.50.

    First impressions?

I like this range! I love the packaging of each product. Each product looks vibrant, but not in a way that is geared just towards a younger market. The sizes are decent, especially the body scrub. And the fragrances these products are in tick all my favourite scent boxes. All perfect for Summer use. The prices aren’t the cheapest, especially for the body wash. So if I was to purchase these it would be more for gifting or occasional personal use. But do I want to try any of these? Oh yes! The scrub looks AMAZING!

There are other products and fragrances from this brand but they weren’t all stocked in my local Tesco. Will I be purchasing any of these? Wait..and..see….

  • New In Home Bargains!

A store that never fails to bring in new, affordable products for skin, hair and body is Home Bargains. Their personal care products is always my favourite things to look for and to buy. With a variety of different brands available being sold lower than the rrp, no wonder certain products are popular. But what have I recently spotted for sale in my local store?

    New in Home Bargains
Dr Paw Paw’s Lip Scrub & Lip Balm Duo

This is such a handy set considering the time of the year we are in. It’s getting warmer which means lips can get drier and need more moisture added. Dr Paw Paw’s Lip Scrub & Lip Balm Duo means you can get rid of any dry, flaky skin and then immediately moisturise them. Price £3.99.

Dr Paw Paw’s Lip Scrub & Lip Balm Duo
    Dove’s Nourishing Lip Balm

Dove is one of those everyday, well known brands that many people will have used and bought at some point. It’s well liked, trusted, readily available and the price point is ok. Dove’s Nourishing Lip Balm contains jojoba oil and shea butter extras which should soothe, smooth and moisturise lips. Price £1.49.

    Dove’s Nourishing Lip Balm
    Faith in Nature’s Body Washes

I only spotted the Aloe Vera version of Faith in Nature. It’s a brand that people head towards if they want their body care products to be more natural in regards to ingredients. Not only is the focus on what’s put into their products, but what’s left out of them e.g parabens and SLS. Price £1.99 for 400ml.

Faith in Nature’s Aloe Vera Body Wash
    Timotei’s Shampoos & Conditioners

Not a haircare brand I’ve ever used but feels like a blast from the past, is Timotei. I couldn’t help noticing these in the shampoo and conditioner section because the bottles looked very appealing. There were different versions available for different hair types. I noticed two in the form of Hydrating and Strengthening. Price £1.99 each for 300ml.

    Timotei’s Shampoos & Conditioners

So these are just a few of the latest products in Home Bargains for hair, body and face. All branded, all affordable but availability can be store dependant so worthwhile checking your store to see if they are in.

  • An Alternative To A Lip Balm, Lip-C Smile’s Raspberry Lip Oil

Over the last few months, there is one area of my face that I’ve been constantly moisturising, my lips! Am I surprised? No not really. The weather going from mild to Baltic to mild again in the UK doesn’t help. To keep my lips less raisin like I have lip products always at hand, including Lip-C Smile‘s Raspberry Lip Oil. This was bought as a gift from a friend last year, and costs £5.50.

    Lip-C Smile Raspberry Lip Oil
    Packaging

Lip-C Smile’s Raspberry Lip Oil comes in a plastic, rectangular shaped vial. It’s clear, so you can see the lip oil inside it. This has a screw top lid which is semi transparent, but red in colour. To apply the lip oil, it has a roller ball applicator on the end.

    Fragrance

Like the lip scrub I’ve used recently, I wouldn’t describe the fragrance of this to be raspberry, more a sweetie inspired strawberry version. It literally smells like strawberry flavoured sweets!

    Application

Thanks to the roller ball applicator, I found the lip oil was placed evenly on my lips. I liked the fact I could control how little or how much oil I could apply onto this area. Very easy and super quick.

    On the lips

This lip oil is lightly tinted. When I first looked at this I could see a red colour settled at the bottom of the vial, which needs to be shaken to spread it out evenly. So when I placed this on the lips the first thing I noticed was the oil wasn’t too heavy or too greasy. It was reasonably light weight, and didn’t have that tacky lip gloss feel on the lips. My lips didn’t change colour because this isn’t an opaque lip product like a lip stick. What Lip-C Smile’s Raspberry Lip Oil did was give my lips a healthy look. Look wise, my lips had a shine to them and the smallest amount of colour, which I was very happy with.

The look and feel of my lips being moisturised lasted a few hours and then I needed to reapply it. With my lips feeling super dry I could easily use this multiple times a day. What I did notice was no build up was left on my lips, no nasty white bits in the corner of my mouth. I would have liked my lips to have stayed moisturised for a little longer per application, but I’m still happy with the results.

    Recommended?

I quite like this lip oil. I like how it looks and feels on the lips, it’s not too greasy and sticky and I’m glad it’s lightly tinted and not coloured. The only thing I’m not too keen on is the packaging. The shape is nice but that’s the only thing that stands out. The lid needs to be able to click into place to stay secure, which it doesn’t. Overall, how this looks could stand out more and be more eye catching. So the lip oil has a thumbs up from me but the packaging needs tweaking.

There are various fragranced lip oils available from Lip-C Smile here along with other products to help with your lip care needs, so pay the site a visit.

  • Dry Lips? Have A Look At Lip-C Smile’s Lip Scrub

I HATE dry lips! I’m currently dealing with this issue right now. The cold weather and central heating has a lot to answer for! My work jacket bulges with various lip oils and balms to help me throughout the day dealing with rough and flaky lips. One product I don’t purchase and use often to help with this problem is a lip scrub. But I did get one as a gift from a friend last year. Handmade and sold by small business called Lip-C Smile, in a raspberry fragrance.

    Lip-C Smile Raspberry Lip Scrub
What is this supposed to do?

This lip scrub is designed to get rid of any dry and flaky skin on the lips, leaving this area smoother and softer in look and feel.

    Packaging

50g of lip scrub comes in a clear pot with a white screw top lid. This comes boxed.

    How does it look?

This particular version of Lip-C Smile’s lip scrub is in a very vibrant bubblegum pink colour. This is a very grainy lip scrub which looks jam packed with sugar granules but not so much oil. It glistens but doesn’t appear to be oily but quite dry and solid.

    Fragrance

The version I have is in the fragrance of raspberry. It smells more strawberry in a sweetie kind of way rather than the fruit in my opinion. It smells nice, not particularly strong but it’s there.

    How to use

On the website it says to use this twice a week day or night.

    In use

I found it easier to apply this onto damp lips rather than dry. I had to go into this pot a few times to get the right amount of scrub to use. It’s so grainy that it didn’t feel like it stuck on my lips as much as I would have liked, and it didn’t move around this area very smoothly. I could feel the grains over my lips and it did create an exfoliating action. But it did feel a little too rough for me.

Lips did feel and look smoother, but not particularly moisturised. Application meant my lips did get messy and if I’m honest it was easier to just lick this off (it tasted nice). To remove this properly I think a face cloth would have been good but I didn’t have one to hand.

This lip scrub should have had a higher oil content to it. This would have made application easier, nicer, removal better and for the lip area to be more moisturised.

    Recommended?

This is a massive amount of product per pot. A lip scrub doesn’t need to be this big, around the 15/20g would suffice. If used once or twice a week, this could be sat unused for months and be wasted. But it is brilliant value priced at £5.00, but this amount isn’t necessary. Not ideal to carry around as you would a lip balm or oil because of it’s size.

The texture wasn’t right for me. It was too harsh and the addition of a small amount of oil would have solved this. Not only would it be a nicer application, leave a more nourished lip area but would make clean up easier for the user.

So this isn’t a product for me. I don’t think I’m a massive fan of lip scrubs anyway. It’s not something I would use every week but maybe every few months. Would I recommend this product to someone else? It does the job but needs tweaking. But for the amount you get it’s a decent buy! It comes in a variety of different fragrances/flavours, and you can purchase yours here.
