  • October’s Round Up Of Products I Found & Used

October was a fun month for finding different products on the high street. New season meant lots of autumn inspired items and also winter ones too. From home fragrance, to skincare…I saw lots of products for the face, body and home which were all budget friendly and relatively easy to grab from well known stores on the high street (or online). So what did I find in October?

October’s Round Up Of Products Found & Used
Face Facts Skincare Masks In B&M

A brand that is super affordable is Face Facts. Their products can be found in different stores but their biggest selection of products, including skincare, can be found in B&M. I found skincare face masks in different forms in B&M all under £4.00. Great for a pamper without the expensive.

Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Sour Apple Body Mist

A body mist I’m still enjoying and using, is Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Sour Apple Body Mist. So fruity, so effervescent and so different! This isn’t the type of scent you will smell regularly that’s why I love it, and it’s not expensive either.

    Face Facts Body Products

Not only does the brand Face Facts have a massive range of skincare products, but they also have lots of body products too. This includes shower body foams, body butters and body lotions. The collection they have in raspberry ripple fragrance looks very appealing and all under £3.00 each!

    Face Facts Cream Body Lotion
Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Pumpkin Spice Body Mist

Another limited edition body mist from Superdrug is their Pumpkin Spice Body Mist. This is more of a traditional autumn scent which if you love anything pumpkin you will love this! Spicy, warming with a little musk to it.

Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist

Anyone who loves vanilla really needs to try Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist. Vanilla is one of my favourite scents, and this is a great mix of vanilla and florals which makes my nose very happy. Smells so much more expensive than what it cost, but if this was stronger and lasted longer would be PERFECT!

Bath & Shower Products To Use This Winter

There are so many winter inspired fragranced bath and shower products available in Home Bargains, you will be spoilt for choice! From hand washes to shower gels, bath soaks to shower foams, all scented to get us all in the mood for winter.

Otiginal Source’s Sugared Plum Shower Gel
    Lattafa’s Amethyst Bade’e Al Oud

I was late catching onto Arabian inspired fragrances, but my son wasn’t! One that he bought for himself was Lattafa’s Amethyst Bade’e Al Oud. A beautifully packaged 100ml fragrance that both men and women can wear. Importantly, this smells amazing, is long lasting and strong.

    Lattafa’s Amethyst Bade’e Al Oud

These are just a handful of products I’ve spotted on the high street and some I’ve bought and tried out. Did you have any favourite products you grabbed in October?

  • October’s Round Up, Which Products Did I Use?

Like the rest of 2023, October just seems to have come and nearly gone in the blink of an eye. Everyone seems to be gearing up towards the Winter season now, and dare I write the word Christmas? There’s lots of products I want to get my hands on in the next few months, especially now the seasons have changed. But what did I use in October?

    Products used in October
Revolution Skincare London’s Watermelon Hydrating Undereye Patches

These were bought at a great price (£1.99 from Home Bargains), lots of under eye patches included so generous amounts of applications and a fun and quirky look to them. But I didn’t find Revolution Skincare London’s Watermelon Hydrating Undereye Patches the best under eye patches I’ve ever used. Probably better suited for my 12 year old daughter to use. I doubt I would buy these again for myself.

Autumn Scented Wax Melts From The High Street

I broke out of my usual shopping habits. Instead of buying wax melts from a wax vendor, I picked up three from stores on the high street. All in my opinion ideal scents for Autumn, each one were affordable, easy to get hold of and smelt really good.

Wickford & Co’s Gingerbread Scented Wax Melts

One of the three Autumn inspired wax melts I purchased from the high street was Wickford & Co’s Gingerbread Scented Wax Melts bought from Home Bargains. An affordable and fragrant warming gingerbread fragranced wax which is perfect to melt this time of year.

    Scrubee Body Butter By LUSH

Scrubee Body Butter By LUSH really confused me. Is it a body butter? Does it exfoliate? Strangely enough it does both while you’re in the shower or bath, which is even more confusing! Great product, smells AMAZING but might be a step too far for those who like their products to be more traditional and simple to use. Although, I’ve found this is brilliant to use on the feet if you want them smoother and softer!

Glow’s Cosy Toes & Winter Glows October Subscription Box

I’m still struggling to get through Glow’s Cosy Toes & Winter Glows October Subscription Box because there’s so much product in this collection! One thing both myself and my daughter have been using and enjoying daily is the body mist. Other products included were a shampoo, soap, whipped soap, magnesium balm and natural deodorant. How much of this will be left before my daughter steals more items I have no idea!

    Boots Ingredients Hyaluronic Sheet Mask

I’m a great believer that skincare doesn’t need to be expensive. There will be skincare available on the market that will suit all budgets. Boots Ingredients Hyaluronic Sheet Mask is inexpensive, easy to use and incredibly pampering and hydrating and regularly on a price promotion.

£1.00 Boots Ingredients Hyaluronic Sheet Mask
    CeraVe’s Resurfacing Retinol Serum

A hard working product that I’ve been using for over a month now, CeraVe’s Resurfacing Retinol Serum tackles uneven skin in regards to texture and colouring. I’m using it to deal with issues with hyperpigmentation, and so far so good…I can see results!

    CeraVe’s Resurfacing Retinol Serum

So this is my round up of products I’ve used in the month of October. As usual, there’s been a mix of everything from home fragrance to body butter scrubs and skincare. No favourites in this mix because they’re so varied. But one thing that stands out is how Scrubee Body Butter smells. It’s absolutely to do die for!

  • Glow’s Cosy Toes & Winter Glows October Subscription Box

I’ve already made it pretty clear how I feel about Glow’s subscription boxes. So is it a massive surprise to find that I purchased October’s subscription box? It wasn’t to me, especially when I found out this would be a body product based selection of goodies. So what was included?

Glow’s Cosy Toes & Winter Glows October Subscription Box
    Cuddles Body Mist

The first thing that struck me was the shape of the dispenser this body most was in. It’s simple but unusual (rounded top and slightly rounded bottom) and I love it! This smells great and has already been taken by my daughter!

    Glow’s Cuddles Body Mist
    Fruity Deodorant Stick

Natural deodorants are very popular at the moment. I’ve used one before and I’ve loved how it smelt and performed. So I was very excited to see this within October’s subscription box. First thing I noticed was this appears to be a generous size and the smell…oh my goodness! Smells just like the fruity chewing gum strips I used to have as a kid.

    Glow’s Fruit Deodorant Stick
    Rainbow Reef Whipped Soap

A beautifully freshly fragranced light and airy whipped soap which is a stunning shade of blue. Whipped soaps are great for those who want a bit of luxury when washing their body and something incredibly moisturising which these traditionally are.

    Glow’s Rainbow Reef Whipped Soap
    Lemon Magnesium Balm

This looks like any balm but this is quite special. Firstly, this is a travel size in a travel appropriate pot which can be hooked onto a bag or strap of some sorts. The balm itself looks balm like and scented in a sweet and zesty citrus lemon fragrance. But what this balm is designed to do is moisturise, help to heal the skin and help with general aches and pains thanks to it’s magnesium content.

    Glow’s Lemon Magnesium Balm
    Funky Monkey Shampoo

The fragrance of Funky Monkey Shampoo is fruit based and mouth watering. This comes in a decent size which should last awhile and the consistency intrigues me. It doesn’t appear very thick, so I can’t wait to see how this performs and see how concentrated it is.

    Glow’s Funky Monkey Shampoo
    Re Glow Soap

Packaged in a small box and wrapped in Glow paper, this soap bar has a ginger scent to it with a homely, handmade look and feel with the addition of dried oranges decorating it. This looks very Autumn and Winter inspired, so perfect for this time of year. The fragrance alone makes me want to use this asap as it’s so good!

    Glow’s Re Glow Soap
    Extras

Included as extras was a hairbrush and soap dish holder (don’t ask what I originally thought this was!).

    Price

£25.00 which included postage and packaging.

    First thoughts?

A great selection of products to use on the body which are not only pampering but practical too. All fragrances are fabulous, great mix of textures and consistencies (which I love) and I can’t wait to delve into this box further!

  • October’s Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

2022 is continuing to gallop closer and closer into the distance as we say goodbye to month number 10. To say it’s been eventful is an understatement, to the point where many of us probably can’t wait for this year to be over. But for now, I’m focusing what I do, which is try out and review products and share my thoughts and feelings on them. And here is my October round up of products I’ve used.

Products used in the month of October
    Scentsy’s Cloudberry Dreams Hand Soap

A great smelling hand wash but super small, expensive at full price and not as moisturising as I would like on my hands. I’m so glad I’ve tried some of Scentsy’s body products including this one. But you really do have to time your purchases right with this company to make sure you get the best possible deal price wise. Am I repeat purchasing this one for myself? Probably not.

    Q+A’s Liquorice Lip Oil

A lip oil is a good alternative to a lip balm. In fact, I would say it’s a mix between the balm and the lip gloss. It can give you the moisturising properties of a lip balm but also the visible sheen of a gloss. Q+A’s Liquorice Lip Oil is a fairly priced lip oil from an affordable skincare company, which contains some very good ingredients. This is the first lip oil I’ve ever used and probably won’t be the last.

Aldi’s Lacura Vitamin C Brightening Daily Cleanser

I gave my first impressions of Aldi’s Lacura Vitamin C Brightening Daily Cleanser after I first bought it. Giving this cleanser a quick look this seemed to be a very promising product. It ticked all the boxes in regards to price, packaging and size. But did it actually live up to expectations when I used it?

Aldi’s Lacura Vitamin C Brightening Daily Cleanser
    Lidl’s Lovely Eau de Parfum

Now THIS was a first! My first venture into a supermarket own branded fragrance. Sometimes we are so used to picking up well known branded perfumes that we don’t even give lesser known (and much cheaper) fragrances a thought. A beautifully scented Eau de Parfum from Lidl without a huge price tag!

    Lidl’s Lovely Eau de Parfum
Glow’s Cafe Coffee Inspired Wax Melts

This collection of coffee inspired wax melt pots from UK wax vendor Glow were a revelation to me! I didn’t realise coffee would be such a gorgeous, comforting scent and this box of waxy goodies (gifted, I won in a competition) really won me over (excuse the pun)! Definitely something to add into your wax melt collection for Autumn/Winter time.

Masking’s Aloe Vera Under Eye Masks

For £1.00 for 2 pairs of under eye masks, this definitely is a cost effective way for a bit of pampering. Are these the best eye masks I’ve ever used? Definitely not! But they are the cheapest and easy to pick up from my local Tesco store. Not for the hardcore skincare fans, but a decent purchase for those who want a bit of fun and self care time.

Masking’s Aloe Vera Under Eye Mask
Aldi’s Lacura Vitamin C Brightening Cleanser

Back again with Aldi’s Lacura Vitamin C Brightening Cleanser, but this time I used this product for a few weeks and could finally say whether this was a good or not so good purchase. Let’s just say it got the thumbs up from me and is still my morning and evening cleanser of choice.

Aldi’s Lacura Vitamin C Brightening Daily Cleanser
Marks & Spencer’s Affordable Rainbow Bath Fizzer

Last but not least, and probably the most affordable item I purchased, was the Marks & Spencer’s Affordable Rainbow Bath Fizzer. A large, fun looking bath fizzer that swirled and moved in my bathtub like crazy and only cost me 49p! A brilliant cost effective buy but not on my favourite bath products ever list.

So that’s my round up complete for the month of October. Do I have a favourite? I’m torn between Glow’s Cafe Coffee Inspired Wax Melts and Aldi’s Lacura Vitamin C Brightening Cleanser. Both impressed me, both I enjoyed using.
