  • Something A bit Different! Olee Cosmetics Zen Bath Tea

If, like me, you love a good evening bath, you will also love what you put into it. Bath bombs, bath soaks, truffles, you will be open to try most of these. What I love is trying a bath product for the first time. Something new, different and hopefully fun to use. This is why I was excited to try out Olee Cosmetics Zen Bath Tea that I won in a competition last year. Did it deliver a great bathing experience?

    What is a bath tea?

Think of a tea bag. You pop it into a mug, pour hot water into it and the tea releases from the bag. This is exactly the same except you don’t drink it, and what’s released into the bath is natural ingredients to help create a great, relaxing bathing experience.

    How do they look?

I received three bath teas, all housed in a clear plastic pouch. Each one looks as if they’ve been made from some form of muslin cloth. Slightly see through so you can see lots of grains of salt, petals and seeds inside it.

    Fragrance

Zen Bath Teas have a kick of fresh, slightly pungent and unmistakably lavender scent to them. Thankfully not the eye watering strength lavender sometimes you can experience. There’s something else in this which I can’t quite describe which could be the chamomile or could just be the scent of all the ingredients together. Either way, these bath teas have a distinctive aromatherapy style smell to them which is predominately lavender and pleasant.

    In the bath

I held one of these bath teas under warm running water. It didn’t colour the bath or create foam, but the warmth did release the fragrance a little and I could see the contents of the tea slowly getting smaller. In the end I popped the whole thing in the bath. The contents of the tea got smaller because the salts dissolved leaving the seeds and petals.

I found the fragrance was quite light in the bath and not as strong as I thought it would be or had hoped. Whether this would’ve been different if I used a bath tea when I first got these or used two instead of one, I’m not sure. But this was ideal for those who wanted something light scent wise, I personally needed more.

The bath itself was plain to look at, which was what I wanted. Fairly relaxing with no changes for the good or bad to my skin. Skin felt normal in and out of the bath.

    Recommended?

I like the idea of Zen Bath Tea. Sometimes there isn’t a need or want for colour or bubbles, and a simple bath soak is what you need. The fact all of the ingredients are safely stored in a ‘bag’ means no clean up and no floaty bits in the bath which isn’t what everyone wants. This is a very simple and easy to use bath product. What I would say is to help aide relaxing, I would’ve liked the scent to be stronger, just a little. And for my skin to feel as if it had been treated a little bit more, but that’s just me. Olee Cosmetics Zen Bath Tea is something I would recommend for those who like natural products, like baths (of course) and want something a bit different and natural. This is definitely all of the above!

  • Give The Gift of Olee Cosmetics Whipped Soaps

Cleaning the skin on our bodies isn’t the most interesting or exciting thing to do. It’s a daily task which most of us don’t think about. But there’s so many different types of products we can use that can take bathing to a slightly more indulgent level, especially when our bodies are crying out for more moisturising during the colder seasons. A quick and easy product to use is whipped soaps. I haven’t bought any recently but I did win two in a competition from a company called Olee Cosmetics. I received Vibe & Pink Candy Whipped Soaps 30ml each in size. So what are they like?

    What is a whipped soap?

A whipped soap is a product you wash the body with. It’s a rich, thick formulation which you apply to damp skin and cleanses it like a bar of soap or shower/bath gel. It normally contains an ingredient which is highly moisturising, such as coconut oil, shea butter etc. So it won’t strip the skin and will leave it soft, smooth and lightly moisturised after use.

Olee Cosmetics Vibe & Pink Candy – Packaging

Both of these whipped soaps are housed in small, lidded tins. Slightly bigger than a lip balm tin. Very cute and I can see this being perfect to travel with.

    How do they look?

Both look the same but coloured differently. You can tell they’ve been whipped into these tins because of the pattern/shapes these are in. They look solid, no movement to them and very glossy in appearance. Vibe’s colouring is almost sweetie like, rhubarb and custard, because it’s a mixed swirl of soft pink and yellow. Pink Candy is a bright bubble gum pink, with both of these whipped soaps glistening with some form of pigment on the top. Beautiful!

    Fragrance

Vibe has a tropical, fruity scent to it. Very Summery and quite mouth watering. Pink Candy smells just like baby lotion, so fresh, clean and would be loved by anyone and everyone.

    Consistency & texture

These look soft in texture like whipped cream. But placing my finger in these whipped soaps, they’re quite solid. Very similar to the texture of a cleansing balm where at first its solid, and then it melts. Except this doesn’t melt like a balm. It does become softer but it still has hold until you either rub it into your skin or onto a sponge.

    In the shower & bath

A finger tip of Pink Candy was enough to wash my whole body, so not much needed product wise. I scooped it out, placed it on a wet sponge, rubbed it in and used! The whipped soap created a sponge full of creamy foam (rather than bubbles) which felt great on the skin and very luxurious.

Skin felt clean and well moisturised after use and lightly fragranced. This was a decadent way of cleaning the skin on my body. Perfect for people with drier skin, people who love their products with texture and for those who see bathing as a pleasure not as a chore.

    Recommended?

I love these whipped soaps for lots of different reasons. The packaging is cute and practical and great for travel or to sample the product. Look and texture of these whipped soaps is so inviting and beautifully made. The product does what its designed to do and is a joy to use with both Vibe and Pink Candy gorgeous in fragrance. Recommended? Yes. Great for stocking fillers? Definitely! Perfect for travel? Absolutely.

Fancy purchasing this? There’s different fragrances and sizes available. The 30ml tin costs £3.00, 150ml £8.99 and 200ml £12.00. Visit the website here to buy.

  • Love Bath Bombs? Check Out Aromatherapy Mini Bath Bombs From Olee Cosmetics

I haven’t used bath bombs for such a long time. For me, they are more a bath time treat than for everyday use. So when I use them I know I’m going to spend a good amount of time in the bath unwinding and enjoying the experience. Have I bought any new bath bombs recently? No I haven’t. But I was lucky enough to win a competition on Instagram where I won some goodies from a bath and body care business called Olee Cosmetics. And what was included? Ylang Ylang Mini Bath Bombs. So what were they like and were they worth winning?

    How do they look?

I received 5 heart shaped mini bath bombs. Off white in colour, but peeping through each of them were petals and seeds (mostly purple in colour), which really made these bath time treats pop! They had such a botanical natural look to them, which was very beautiful.

    Packaging

These mini bath bombs were housed in a small and neutral looking sealed sachet. Clear window on the front so you can see what it contains. I like this type of presentation because it’s practical, great for gift giving and overall is simple but looks good.

    Fragrance

The fragrance definitely has the aromatherapy style scent to it. It does smell of ylang ylang, which is incredibly difficult to describe. It has a similar relaxing effect that lavender gives but in a less harsh, strong way. Very soothing (for me it is at least), very relaxing, slightly sweet, and again, smells like an essential aromatherapy oil!

    In the bath

I used all 5 of these at once. In the water, they immediately fizzed and hissed, and took very little time to disintegrate completely. They didn’t colour the water, or create bubbles of foam, but they did leave the small dried flowers swimming on top of the bath. The fragrance was there which I loved, but not strong. I would have hated it if it was a powerhouse fragrance wise because it would be too heady, but it was soft and subtle and I enjoyed it.

My skin has been a little temperamental recently, but I didn’t find these bath bombs irritating at all. They were quite gentle on the skin, provided a relaxing bath and the clean up afterwards was a breeze!

    Recommended?

I liked these! Beautiful in look, lovely scent and this is the perfect treat for yourself or to give others. Great as part of a pamper package, bridesmaid gifts or dare I say Christmas stockings or Christmas Eve boxes. Only £3.70 for a sachet of 5 or 10 for £5.50. They come in a variety of different fragrances, which you can find on their website here. Perfect product to have a pamper with.
