  • Under £3.00 Face Facts Ceramide Foaming Cleanser

Cleansers aren’t the most exciting products in a skincare routine, but they do an important job. There’s nothing nicer than getting rid of all the dirt, grime, sun cream and make-up from the day and leaving clean skin. Or refreshing the skin in the morning. I don’t change up my cleansing routine with new cleansers regularly. I tend to stick with whatever works at that moment. But I’ve recently changed my daily cleanser from AldI’s Lacura Moisturising Face Wash to Face Facts Ceramide Foaming Cleanser. So what is it like?

    Face Facts Ceramide Foaming Cleanser
Firstly, why did I buy this?

I ran out of the Lacura face wash and saw this one sat on a shelf in Home Bargains. I actually was open to changing my cleanser to one that was less basic in formulation and had some extra ingredients in it, that could help my skin a bit more. I thought this could be perfect. And on top of that fragrance free (which I like), and budget friendly at only £2.99.

    Ingredients

This cleanser contains ceramides (protects skin and helps to lock in moisture), niacinamide (helps boost hydration, anti-inflammatory so calming on the skin) and hyaluronic acid (helps keep in moisture). No fragrance included, and this formulation is designed for dry and sensitive skin.

    Packaging

400m of product comes in a white pump action dispenser. Simple in design and has a slight resemblance of some CeraVe products. The packaging isn’t fancy but it’s practical, which will appeal to any age or sex and will sit nicely in any bathroom.

    Fragrance

It’s fragrance free so no scent! Although, it does have a scent as such which some products have when they are fragrance free. It’s a hard one to explain but it smells of something but nothing at the same time!

    On the skin

On damp skin I use two pumps of this cleanser and rub it into my face. It doesn’t foams up very well. It foams slightly but not much. But after rinsing off my skin does feel fresh, clean and smooth. If I use this in the evening I will repeat this twice and double cleanse.

When I first used this for a few days I found my skin felt a little tight, almost dry, although it wasn’t. But this has now disappeared after using this for over a week and my skin seems much more comfortable.

    Do I like this?

At first I didn’t think this was moisturising enough, and it wasn’t. But now no issues. If I could improve this I would like more foaming. It is called a foaming cleanser! Having more foam and creaminess to this when applied to damp skin would make me enjoy using this more. But my skin seems and looks clean, and I actually think my skin looks a touch better for using this.

    Recommended?

If you’re looking for a cleanser which is quick, easy to use, fragrance free but you need a little more compared to a basic formulation, this could be that product. Great for someone who wants a simple skincare routine, a good one for guys and overall someone who doesn’t want to fuss about with products. And perfect if you don’t want to spend a lot as well. Only £2.99 for 400ml from Home Bargains.

  • What Products Did I Buy Last Week?

Last week was a very BUSY week for me. A big birthday for one of my kids, work, usual life stuff. Not to mention the month of May and June are very spendy months which I can’t really get away from. So last week I tried to keep my general spending down to a minimum, especially when it comes to personal care items. I literally bought what I needed and that was it! So what products did I buy? And how much did each item cost?

    Products I Bought Last Week
    Face Facts Ceramide Foaming Cleanser

My current budget cleanser I’ve been using, which is Aldi’s Lacura Moisturising Wash, was running very low. Rather than going into the supermarket to buy it and ‘accidently’ buy other stuff £20-£30 later, I bought this instead. I’ve used a Face Facts Ceramide Cleanser before, but not this particular one. It’s gentle and fragrance free which is a must for my skin right now. The price for this at £2.99 for 400ml was the best price I’ve seem on the high street or online, so I grabbed it!

    Face Facts Foaming Cleanser
    Biovene’s Pimple Patches

I bought these for the first time about 2 weeks ago for my daughter, and she asked me to buy these again. As a teenager and I suffered from the occasional spot, I just dealt with it as we all did. This generation now have various pimple/spot patches in different shapes, sizes and colours that can be used to minimise the look and feel of these invaders. 24 patches in total is included and they come in 3 different sizes, which is very useful. Transparent, so although obvious not as obvious as other patches, and very easy to use. 69p.

    Biovene Pimple Patches
    Simple’s Pure Soap 2 Bars

I easily buy these every 2 weeks because both myself and my daughter use them mostly in the bath, but also in the shower. I’ve noticed around spring time the skin on my body can be easily irritated, so avoiding products on my body that contain colour or fragrance is a must. My daughter was a sufferer of eczema, so its out of habit now to stick with products that are gentle on the skin and products her skin is used to. Cost? 89p.

    Simple Pure Soap
VT Direct’s Turmeric Joint Complex Capsules

As much as getting older has its benefits, it has its downsides too. My body isn’t the same as what it was when I was a teen or in my 20’s. I find my body takes longer to recover from general wear and tear. Aches and pains manifest from no where. I take these tablets to help with my joints because they need all the help they can get! I recently ran out and needed to restock. There’s information to suggest that turmeric can help with inflammation of the joints and stiffness. Also this can be good for the skin, help with digestion and other possible health benefits. This cost £2.79 for 60 capsules taken twice a day.

Vit Direct Turmeric Joint Complex Capsules

What was the grand total of these 4 products I bought? £7.36. All from Home Bargains. Which isn’t too bad at all. Besides the pimple patches, the other products should last between 2 weeks to 4 weeks which is great when on a budget.

If you suffer from specific skin concerns and are trying out different products to see what works, it can be expensive and time consuming. Having budget friendly brands really helps when needing to change skincare routines and also to maintain them and repurchase if they do work. So what is there to purchase for oily skin and how much does the products cost?

A spot treatment that can be used directly onto blemishes that helps calm and treat these areas. This spot treatment should help minimise the look and feel of these blemishes. £2.00 for 15ml.

    Blemish Treatment Gel
So who would these products be good for?

The first set of people that come to mind is teenagers. Typically with hormone changes their skin can be oily, congested and spotty. But anyone can suffer from these problems at various stages in life for lots of different reasons. So if skin appears blemished and shiny, this could be for them.

If you were to purchase all three of these products it would only cost £9.00! Great value and currently available at Tesco in store (store specific) and online.
