  • Are These Undereye Hydrogel Patches For Under £1.50 Any Good?

If you have a favourite type of skincare product, what is it? One of my favourite products has got to be under eye patches/masks. They’re an easy way to give tired looking under eyes a little more of a rested and hydrated look and feel. So anytime I see them, especially when they’re affordable, I have to buy them! My latest purchase comes from Home Bargains in the form of Popmask Skin’s Angel Eyes Under Eye Hydrogel Patches. Containing 5 pairs, this set cost £1.49. So how did they perform?

    What are these?

These under eye patches are to be placed onto clean skin. Designed to help improve puffy eyes, give a cooling effect and overall make the under eye area look and feel better (on a temporary basis). This set contains 5 pairs of patches, meaning 5 separate treatments. Fragrance, colour and cruelty free.

    Packaging

Popmask Skin’s Angel Eyes Patches comes in a black and white cardboard box. It’s only after using these patches I realised that the black images on the packaging are angel winged shaped. So very much a stand out box that caught my eye straight away on the shelf. The patches themselves, each pair, come in their very own sachet with the look mirroring the box.

Popmask’s Angel Eyes Undereye Hydrogel Patches
    Ingredients

Include sea water, pumpkin fruit, caffeine and cucumber extract.

    How do these look?

The patches themselves are quite large, black and winged shaped, just like the images on the packaging. Quite thick, with a shiny, sticky side and on the front almost felt like.

    In use

Once I took these off the clear sheet of plastic these were stuck on, I placed them on my under eye area and they were secure, not moving and very much in place. Despite these being in the fridge overnight, I didn’t feel any coolness. Although these felt very comfortable on, it was very different to any other under eye patches I’ve used before. It felt like tape had been placed on my face, with no sense of moisture or serum on them, which was an odd sensation.

Taking them off was easy to do. But I did do it gently and slowly because these really were stuck on well. My under eyes didn’t feel hydrated or rested, before or during use, just very rigid for 20mins.

    Recommended?

The packaging and the look of these I loved! Being in sachets mean these are great for travelling and keeps each pair fresh and ready for use. The design and look of the patches themselves is fun and very different. But the problem I had was there was no feel or action of any serum being placed from them to the under eye area, which you would want surely? Using these didn’t feel very pampering, or hydrating and as fun as these looked on did very little. So I won’t be buying these again. And I wouldn’t recommend them if you want under eye patches that soothe and smooth this area of your face.

  • Cosy Winters Night Whipped Soap By Lotions & Potions

What products do you use in the bath or shower to wash your body? The market is FULL of various gels, creams, mousses and soaps, that we’re spoilt for choice. Personally, what I use depends on my mood. If I’m in a ‘I want to treat myself’ mindset, I will go with something a little luxurious. If I’m tired and have lost the will to live, something ordinary and simple. One product I’ve used on and off over the years in both the shower and the bath is whipped soaps. The last one I purchased was in Lotions & Potions December Pamper Box, caled Cosy Winters Night Whipped Soap. So, what is it like?

Cosy Winters Night Whipped Soap By Lotions & Potions
    Packaging

120g of whipped soap is housed in a clear, plastic, lidded pot. The fact it’s clear lets you have a sneak peak of what the whipped soap looks like. The lid, I love, as it’s embossed with the Lotions & Potions logo. Also included is a mention that these products from this business are chemical free. The packaging is practical, simple, not flashy and has a ‘natural’ feel to it.

    Look & consistency

Cosy Winters Night Whipped Soap comes in a beautiful and bright spring like yellow colour. Very vibrant and eye catching. The whipped soap you can see has literally been piped into it’s packaging because of the shape its in. It looks thick, solid, holds its shape and dusted with glittery pigments and silver and gold tiny star shapes. Very pretty!

    Fragrance

Cosy Winter Night Whipped Soap is a difficult scent to describe. Its fresh and clean, which is great for everyone and anyone. Very comforting in scent, has a sweet amber like hint to it. It’s beautiful and definitely screams winter to me.

    On the body

I use a fingertip amount of this whipped soap on each body part. Despite the fact that this comes out quite hard and solid, rubbed into the skin it softens and almost melts away. On a sponge, this lathers up beautifully but doesn’t create bubbles. What it does is leave a creamy, soft covering over the skin, it then does what a traditional soap does on the skin, slightly foam and then clean. Does it clean the skin well? Oh yes! Very enjoyable and easy to use. The scent made this product even more decadent and pleasurable and left my skin feeling soft, smooth and clean.

    Recommended?

Gorgeous fragrance, texture to die for, cleans the skin well and does it in a way that its an experience rather than a simple wash of the body. Yes! Recommended! If, like me, you love your richer, thicker textures when it comes to the products you use, you will LOVE this!

Cosy Winters Night Whipped Soap was part of special, seasonal box, so no longer available. But other scented whipped soaps are available here. All 120g and £5.50 each. Enjoy!

  • Face Facts Body Products Under £3.00

Body care. As much as body care is important to many of us during warmer seasons, it’s just as important, if not more SO, during the colder ones. It’s not just about keeping our skin in good condition, but it’s also giving us the chance to pamper and comfort the body when it needs it most. Also, it helps the mind and body relaxed, which is invaluable to health. Do we want to spend a small fortune on various lotions, potions and bath salts? I don’t. For people who are looking for budget friendly bath, body and shower treats, the brand Face Facts has you covered with their range called Scủủp which are raspberry ripple scented products. So what’s available?

Face Facts Scủủp Raspberry Ripple Bath, Shower & Body Products
    Sugar Body Scrub

Exfoliating the skin on the body while moisturising, thanks to this scrub containing shea butter and coconut oil. Would be ideal to use, leave on the body and rinse away while soaking in the bath tub. 350ml.

    Sugar Body Scrub
    Foam Body Wash

Designed to be hydrating and not stripping to the skin, Foam Body Wash is a body wash in a foam consistency. Soft and foamy texture, sweetly fragranced but aims to be an effective cleanser for the body. 240ml.

    Foam Body Wash
    Sweet Bath Sprinkles

A simple formulated product but sounds and looks fun! Different from bath soaks or bath salts thanks to its powdery consistency. Not sure whether this product foams, fizzes or creates colour or a creamy feel in the bath. Either way it’s a good amount of product for multiple uses (300g).

    Sweet Bath Sprinkles
    Cream Body Lotion

Using all of the above products or just one of two, the Cream Body Lotion is the last product to put onto the body. Containing shea butter and Vitamin E, this product should hydrate the skin leaving it soft and smooth ready for the day or evening ahead. 200ml.

    Cream Body Lotion
    Packaging

I think the packaging is fun in shape and colour. It’s quite simple. Is it sophisticated? No. But I don’t think it’s supposed to. The colouring matches the fragrance and it stands out individually from other Face Facts products.

    Price

Each product costs only £2.59 each! Great value with good sized products which should provide lots and lots of uses.

    So what do I think?

This is a good collection of products that covers all body care needs. Pampering and practical which is what everyone and anyone should want. I didn’t get a chance to smell any of the products but if you love your sweeter fragrances, this hopefully will tick that box. At a cost of £2.59 EACH, very budget friendly! So if you’re looking for affordable, bath, shower and body products and don’t have specific skincare needs for the body, have a look at this range in B&M now!

  • The Best Body Butter? Treacle Moon’s Rouge Love Story Body Butter

There are so many different forms of body moisturisers on the market to fit everyone’s body care needs. Body lotions, creams, oils, soufflés, there’s literally a product for everyone in various forms, fragrances and textures. Now that we’re coming into a cooler season this maybe the perfect time to switch up products used. One item I’ve slipped into my body care routine is Treacle Moon’s Rough Love Story Body Butter. How good is it?

Treacle Moon’s Rouge Love Story Body Butter
    Why I’m using this

I bought a few of Treacle Moon’s body butters for gifting because they are perfect as presents. I saved one for myself, and felt my body really needed a more luxurious and thicker textured body moisturiser. I’ve been using Epimax Oatmeal Cream, but wanted something less ordinary, richer and if I’m honest I wanted something with fragrance so I could smell nice.

    Packaging

200ml of Treacle Moon’s Rough Love Story Body Butter comes in a plastic screw topped tub. It’s very basic but the lid with the product name, the brand and other words in different fonts and sizes, really makes it pop! It’s practical packaging. Easy to open and close, but more importantly no product is wasted because every last bit of body butter can be scrapped out.

    Consistency & Texture

White in colour. In the tub this looks thick and rich, as it doesn’t have any movement to it. Scooping it out it still has that richness and slip to it which we all want, but has a softness to it.

    Fragrance

This is supposed to be a Baccarat Rouge fragrance dupe. But I honestly haven’t smelt the original so can’t confirm or deny. What I would say is how this is scented is stand alone gorgeous! This is sweet, floral, but not a pretty floral scent a slightly heavier, darker one. It’s feminine, its intoxicating and definitely smells like a perfume type fragrance.

    On the skin

I was generous with the amount of body butter I used but I couldn’t help it! I took a decent amount into my hands, which felt thick but not solid and incredibly soft and silky smooth. Rubbing it onto my skin was so easy. I actually gasped because it felt amazing on! Rich, not greasy, moisturising, but protective. The formula is absolute perfection and a joy to use. It wasn’t heavy on the skin, but it was comforting. It left my skin with a healthy sheen to it not a shine. And what topped off the experience was the fragrance hitting me as I used this. It’s not overwhelming, but it’s enough to appreciate and enjoy it and take it in.

The feeling of my skin being moisturised, never felt as if it had left. My skin felt supple and soft for hours, and the fragrance was still there too. Of course, it didn’t have the same strength to it hours later compared to when first put it on, but it was there!

    Recommended?

Why has it taken me so long to actually use this?? Treacle Moon’s Rough Love Story Body Butter is amazing! Great size, stunning texture, fabulous fragrance and enjoyable to use and have on from start to finish. So yes! Recommended 110%!

Treacle Moon’s Rouge Love Story Body Butter is available for £5.00 for 200ml in a few stores including Boots, along with other products from the brand which I dare you not to buy!
