  • How Good Are Primark’s PS Skin Caffeine Eye Patches?

We all live in hope that skincare products will sort out specific skin issues quickly. Some deliver results fast, some take time and some not at all. My expectations of how skincare products will work can be varied, but I’m still willing to give things a go and hope for the best! I recently bought Primark’s PS Skin Caffeine Eye Patches to try out. Containing 15 treatments, this cost £1.80.

Primark’s PS Skin Caffeine Eye Patches
    Why did I buy this?

Because I look tired! Who wants to look like a zombie with under eyes touching their knees? I don’t! This is why I love under eye patches. They won’t change this area of the face permanently, but can give a temporary boost. I also like using them, so why would I NOT try these?

What do you get & what do they do?

15 treatments, 30 under eye patches in total. Created to smooth the under eye area and help de-puff eyes and make them look better. Caffeine as an ingredient can help with circulation and energising of the skin.

    Packaging

Primark’s PS Skin Caffeine Eye Patches come in a resealable sachet. Very practical to use and store, basic in look but very appealing with how it’s presented.

    How to use

Apply onto freshly cleansed skin, place under the eye area and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove and don’t wash off.

    In use

These eye patches are typical in look and feel to most tissue under eye patches. White in colour, moist with serum but not drenched and a decent thickness to them. Very easy to apply. They covered the whole under eye area and stayed where they were placed comfortably. Slightly cooling, these didn’t budge until I removed them which I loved.

Taking these off, I felt my under eyes were moisturised lightly, so felt as if they had been treated in some way. Did Primark’s PS Skin Caffeine Eye Patches change the look of my under eyes? Nothing massively noticeable to be honest. Maybe a tiny bit fresher in look but not wowing. But I did enjoy using them!

    Recommended?

Controversially, I actually would recommend these, and I will explain why. The patches are well constructed and had the perfect amount of serum soaked into them. Good shape, comfortable to wear, soothing, not fragranced and they didn’t dry out too much. They also didn’t dry out my under eyes and actually hydrated them. The fact you get 15 pairs of eye patches in a sealed packet means lots and lots of pampering for myself and anyone else who wants to use them in my household! So do they improve the under eye area? No eye surgery here. But they do provide light relief delivered in an enjoyable way for only £1.80.

  • Massaging The Undereye With Primark’s PS Skin Eye Roller

As much as I love skincare I can be very lazy. I’ve never been a massive fan of facial tools because if I’m honest I just can’t be bothered using them. BUT one tool that has always fascinated me is an eye roller. I picked up Primark’s PS Skin Eye Roller a few months ago during a shopping trip for £4.50.

    Primark’s PS Skin Eye Roller
    Why did I buy this?

My under eye area has always been the part of my face that I’ve always wanted to improve the look of. Lack of sleep? Feeling ill? Suffering from hay fever? This area really suffers through these different situations. So this particular tool already grabbed my attention because I hoped it could help. The design and look of it was appealing and the price was affordable, so why not?

What is this supposed to do?

Primark’s PS Skin Eye Roller is designed to improve the look of the under eye area by helping the blood circulate and to help combat puffiness.

    How does it look?

This eye roller is made of metal. It’s green in colour, flat, and is curved along the bottom of it. On the opposite side it has a long thin neck which widens with three small ridges along it. At it’s tip, where you roll the area under the eye, is a small sphere made of metal. It’s magnetically attached to it so can be removed. The eye roller comes with a second sphere.

    How to use

There isn’t a clear set of instructions on the packaging. But there is two small illustrations to show the areas on the face you can use this on. Also to use with circular motions anti-clockwise. This can be used under the eye, around the eye socket, around the nose, chin and even on the neck.

    In use

This is a very easy facial tool to use because of how it’s shaped. It sits very comfortably in the fingers. The sphere piece of the eye roller on the skin is incredibly soothing because it’s very cooling but not cold. I find this sensation enjoyable but especially first thing in the morning. It wakes up this part of my skin and helps me wake up too.

I’ve never found myself using this for long periods of time. Just a minute in the morning and evening. Quick, simple and easy to use.

    Any changes?

Honestly? To look at my under eye area I have no idea! It looks no worse than before using this but I have only just started to use this consistently for a short period of time. I love using this and the fact it’s easy to use is perfect for someone time and energy starved as myself. I love the feel of this on my skin, so even if it hasn’t changed my under eyes it definitely does something to my mind at least.

    Recommended?

This won’t be for everyone. Some people just won’t be interested in using implements for the face and body, and that’s ok. This facial tool is great for those who love and are interesting in skincare and more so looking after their eye area. Even though I can’t see any physical changes..yet.. I don’t expect miracles, but every little helps! What I do get is a fast form of pampering which is targeting an area of concern for me and something that can be slotted into any facial care routine. Don’t forget this can be used on the whole of the face and the neck area, so very versatile.

    Definitely recommended!

  • Primark’s PS Love Opal Crush Eau de Toilette

Most of us will have a collection of fragrance products. My daughter is no exception to this. At the age of 12 she seems to have gathered a varied mix of fragrances in different shapes, forms and strengths. All bought (of course) by the Bank of Mum. One fragrance I bought for her 12th birthday was Primark’s PS Love’s Opal Crush Eau de Toilette. This cost £4.50 for 50ml.

Primark’s PS Love Opal Crush Eau de Toilette
    Why did I buy this?

Primark has a good selection of fragrances. This particular one caught my eye because of the packaging. The scent notes sounded like a good combination (they’re on the box) and if I recall correctly there was a tester so I used it and it smelt pretty good! The price was affordable and overall this made a good gift for the birthday girl.

    Packaging

Opal Crush is housed in a glass bottle. Not totally rectangular in shape because the edges are curved with mint green detailing on the label and the lid. The bottle comes boxed, mint green in colour with a perfume bottle shape cut out of the front so you can see the actual bottle inside. Not extravagant in packaging but easy on the eye.

    Scent Notes

    Oriental, floral and vanilla.

    Fragrance

This is quite a Summer feeling fragrance, thanks to it containing feminine florals. I’m not too sure what type of floral it is but there might be a hint of rose but only lightly. Mixed with the floral is a hint of comforting and sweet vanilla, which I love anyway. I’m not getting much in an oriental scented way but what I do get is something powdery. Overall it’s a great scent that would appeal to most people.

    Strength & Longevity

When I first applied this (onto clothes), I would say this was a light to medium but more closer to light. It’s such a nice scent it could have been stronger but it wasn’t. But that’s my personal preference. I was quite generous with the amount I used hoping it would last all morning while in work. I noticed it at the start of the day but by mid morning I only got a light whiff of this scent. So longevity for me wasn’t long and I couldn’t reapply it to boost the fragrance while the scent became softer. Both strength and longevity was low for me.

    Did my daughter like it?

Strangely enough no she didn’t! She’s a very fickle person so she might dislike it one minute and love it the next. But she wasn’t keen on how it smelt overall. I think she prefers her fragrances to be more fruity and sweetie like rather than floral.

    Recommended?

Although presented nicely with a great scent, I wouldn’t recommend this fragrance to everyone. It just didn’t deliver the punch and staying power needed for it to stand out or wow me. BUT for my daughter this is more acceptable because she doesn’t need overpowering fragrances. So if you want something affordable and pretty in scent but light, then this would be fine. But honestly? This should and could have been much better because I’ve used body mists that performed better.

  • June’s Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

June was a busy month for me. Filled with important (and costly!) birthdays and lots of other things to keep me on my toes, which is called life. But as usual it didn’t stop me using and enjoying (well, sometimes) products for the face, body, bath, shower and home fragrance. So what products did I use in the month of June?

    Products I used in June
    Aveda’s Radiant Skin Refiner

I’ve heard of Aveda as a brand before but assumed they just did haircare, but I was wrong. They also have skincare products under their umbrella too. I really liked using their Radiant Skin Refiner, which is basically a facial scrub. Great size (so would last ages), easy to apply, an effective exfoliator which left my skin feeling and looking smoother and softer.

Bubble T’s Hydrogel Under Eye Patches

For 49p Bubble T’s Hydrogel Under Eye Patches were a pretty obvious purchase to make. They won’t make a huge difference to this area of the face but they are fun to use, cooling (even more so when put in the fridge) and affordable!

Primark’s PS Elements Night Pour Homme Eau de Toilette

Bought for my teenage son, Primark’s PS Elements Night Pour Homme Eau de Toilette was a perfect fragrance to purchase for him. Smells great and suitable for any age, simple packaging but stands out and didn’t cost me a small fortune!

Glow’s Raspberry Candy Floss Shower Gel

A beautifully sweet and lightly sugared scented shower gel from small business Glow in the form of Raspberry Candy Floss. Very gentle on the skin, foams up beautifully, lovely fragrance and created an insane bath!

Glow’s Raspberry Candy Floss Shower Gel
So…? Unique Floral Night Body Mist

So…? Unique Floral Night Body Mist is the body mist I never knew I needed in my life! The perfect fragrance if you love a mix of sweet, fruity and floral because it is sooooo good! Ideal to use all year round but perfect for Summer time use.

So…? Unique’s Floral Night Body Mist
Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel Shower & Bath Gel

Fragrance wise, this is such a good shower & bath gel from Treacle Moon, that you will wonder which is better between this and LUSH’s Snow Fairy scent. Frosted Candy Anger Shower & Bath Gel is 500ml of super bubble making, fragrant bath and shower product that will keep your skin clean and pampered for a good amount of time.

Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel Shower & Bath Gel
Feather & Down’s Sweet Dreams Bath & Shower Steamers

For 99p, these bath and shower steamers from Feather & Down, purchased from Home Bargains, was a steal! This brand doesn’t normally have such a low price point on their products. But it wasn’t 99p worth spending for me because I didn’t feel they were the best as a bath fizzer or as a shower steamer. Great idea, looks good, eye catching packaging but the actual product was a let down for me.

Feather & Down’s Sweet Dreams Bath & Shower Steamer
Shea Moisture’s Power Greens Hair Care Range

Finding the right hair care products is harder than skincare in my opinion, or at least it is for me. I found Shea Moisture’s Power Greens products easy to use, great at cleaning the hair and scalp without stripping it leaving my hair softer and more manageable.

Shea Moisture’s Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Haircare

So these were some the products I used last month. Did I have any favourites? Probably not, as they were all so different. But quite a few I would happily repurchase again for the second time.
