  • Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel is a Snow Fairy Dupe!

If you’re a fan of the Snow Fairy range from high street retailer LUSH, then you will be very familiar with how that range smells. You will also have a pretty good idea how much these products cost and because they’re seasonal, you can’t purchase them throughout the year. So what’s currently on the market that can give you that fragrance hit without it hitting your pocket? How about Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel Shower & Bath Gel? I bought this from Boots for £1.99 for a 500ml bottle.

    Why did I buy this?

I love the brand Treacle Moon. I’ve used their shower & bath gels, hand creams and body scrubs and enjoyed each product. So when I read online that Frosted Candy Angel was a dupe for Snow Fairy I thought it would be pretty silly NOT to see if this was similar in fragrance considering how much it costs.

    Packaging

500ml of Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel Shower & Bath Gel comes in a clear, plastic bottle with a flip top lid. Super cute labelling depicting the shapes of snow angels which gives it a slightly Wintery seasonal look. Quite attractive in look and doesn’t look like it’s sub £2.00 in price.

    Fragrance

Think of pear drops the sweets. The sugary, fruit scent of these sweets mixed in with a slight candy floss type of scent and this is what this shower & bath gel product smells like. Love the scent personally and doesn’t overdo the sweetness in my opinion, it’s just right.

Does this smell like Snow Fairy?

It actually does! I can say this confidently because I have Snow Fairy Bubble Blowing Wand in my collection so I can literally compare the two. Not identical because I think Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel is a little more heavier on the pear drop scent AND I actually prefer how this smells to the Snow Fairy bath product!

    Consistency & Look

This is quite liquid but with a decent thickness to it. Easy to pour, very similar in consistency to similar products on the market and pink in colour.

    In the bath

Even though this is a shower and bath gel I used this in the bath. I didn’t need to use much because under warm running water this created lots of frothy, soft bubbles. I didn’t notice the water changing colour so if it did it was barely noticeable. But it would be hard to spot anyway under the mass of white foam sitting on the top.

Fragrance was their immediately. As always, I can take a power house when it comes to scent. The strength of this could’ve been a touch stronger but was absolutely fine for what it was. It was there, it was comforting and it was enjoyable.

This created a very relaxing bath which I was happy to experience. It didn’t dry out my skin at all. But what I did notice was an area of irritated skin on my body that didn’t like this. Thanks to the heat, a small patch of my skin is sore and wasn’t too fond of being bathed in this. No fault of the shower gel, blame 30 degree heat! I know my skin and fragrance sometimes needs to be avoided if my skin hates me and I give it some fragrance free time or very little fragrance in my body care routine.

    Recommended?

If you love your shower and bath products to be sweet in scent, then you will really like this. It smells so good, great size and performs well in the bath and will make your bathing experience a nice one. But if you are a Snow Fairy fragrance fan then this is a MUST! At a fraction of the price you can bathe till you run out of water and save yourself money too in the process. But if your skin is feeling sensitive, maybe put this purchase on hold or try with caution. If not, head towards Boots, ASDA, Tesco, Waitrose or even direct with Treacle Moon themselves to pick up this bath time treat!

  • Treacle Moon’s Gentle Powder Love Shower & Bath Gel

Guess one of my pet hates? Running low on something! Hate it! It’s bad enough if its food or drink as an example. But even WORSE when it’s a product I use on my skin. Imagine my despair when I noticed my bath and shower gels looking pathetically low in their bottles, on the side of my bath? So on top of my shopping list last week was to buy something to use in the bath and shower. I picked up Treacle Moon’s Gentle Powder Love Shower & Bath Gel from Tesco for £1.99, while doing a small top up grocery shop.

Why did I buy this one? I’ve used products from Treacle Moon before and been very happy with them. Normally I would get them from Tesco, but a certain pandemic has limited my time and places to shop in. But when I got the chance to visit my local store recently, I thought it was a good idea to pick up and try one I hadn’t used before. And guessing what this smelt like, I thought it would be a good product for my son to use too.

Packaging. 500ml of shower and bath gel comes in a clear plastic bottle with a flip top lid. There is a little paragraph on the side, which for me conjures up how the fragrance of this is supposed to make you feel. A cute picture on the other side completes it. These details always catches my eye when I see these bottles and draws me in to inspect. Overall a great look to their packaging which is modern, interesting and cute!

Scent. This reminds me so much of baby lotion. That clean sent with slight powdery notes to it and the smallest hint of floral. This was subtle and not overpowering and very easy on the nose. The fragrance side isn’t typical for standard shower and bath gels, which is bonus. And its one of those fragrances that universally the majority of people will like it.

Look & consistency. The colour of this is baby blue, which I think is perfect considering the scent and the name of this product. Looks creamy in appearance, shiny and smooth. Consistency is what I would expect which is fluid but with a slight thickness to it.

In the bath. I squirted a small amount of this under warm running water, and it slowly created ALOT of foam. The water had a slight pale blue tint to it but pretty much was overrun by mounds of white, fluffy, soft bubbles. The bubbles lasted as long as my bath did. The scent was there and very delicate. My time spent in the bath was relaxing and super pleasant, which is what a good quality bath product should create.

In the shower. Lathered up beautifully on a sponge. Soft and creamy which is what I want when using something in the shower. Didn’t need to use much and my skin felt clean and fresh once finished.

On my skin. In and out of the bath my skin was perfectly normal. No issues and not dried out or irritated in the slightest.

Recommended? Totally! The formulation of Treacle Moon’s shower & bath gels mean you get exactly what you need from this type of product. It cleans the skin without stripping it, creates foam and has a lovely fragrance. Price wise it’s not expensive. You get 500ml which will last a good amount of time. And it’s one of those rare affordable products that actually look great as a gift and looks more expensive than what it is!

Want to get your hands ( and body ) all over Gentle Powder Love? There are a few ways and places you can buy it. You can go direct to Treacle Moon here and it costs £3.00 ( yes, it’s less in Tesco so bare that in mind ). Bonus though is they have all their range on there and delivery is free with a £15.00 spend. You can pick this up ( dependant on store and stock levels ) from Tesco instore or online. Waitrose also stock this range too. Happy shopping!
