  • Battle Of The Shower Whips/Foams

Shower foams have become very popular. Washing our bodies has normally been the job of shower creams, gels, and even the humble soap. But where has this mass influx of shower whips/foams come from? I suspect it’s come from the land of duping. The brand Sundae has their shower foam retailing for around £12.00. Cheaper alternatives from more budget friendly brands has since been available, and now they are everywhere! So what’s currently on the high street in regards to shower whips/foams and how much do they cost?

    Sunkissed’s Shower Whip

This was the first brand that drew comparisons with Sundae’s shower foams. Sunkissed’s Shower Whips are available in various shops, included discount stores Home Bargains and B&M. Great selection of fragrances including Strawberry Swirl, Pistachio & Salted Caramel and Sweet Vanilla. 250ml for £2.49.

    Daisee’s Foaming Body Wash

This is a brand that is stocked in places including Tesco and Superdrug. Their foaming body wash comes in Pineapple, Vanilla, Pomegranate and Coconut. Very tropical fragrances which will suit people who like their fragrances on the fruity side. £4.99 for 265ml.

    Original Source’s 2in1 Shower & Shave Foam

This shower foam has been around for a long time, so one of the originals when it comes to this type of product. It comes in a variety of different fragrances, including Lemon & Tea Tree. The fragrances are a little more traditional compared to the newer brands, but still as a body care product reliable. Costs from £1.99 for 200ml (available from various stores on the high street).

Dove’s Shower Mousse is another shower foam that’s been on the market for a long time so well loved and trusted. Costs from £2.25 for 200ml (available from various stores on the high street).

Get Up & Glow’s Shower Foam

I’ve only seen this brand stocked in Tesco, so not too sure if this is available anywhere else. But Get Up & Glow had 2 different fragranced shower foams available in my local Tesco. One was Caramel, Pistachio and Vanilla. The other Plum, Vanilla & Musk. Packaging is simple but bright. Price? Expensive compared to others which is £7.00 for 250ml.

Get Up & Glow’s Shower Foam

These are just a few shower foams/whips I’ve found on the high street. Are there more? Yes there are! But this gives you an idea on price points, packaging, fragrances and where these products are available if you want to purchase them yourself.

  • Druid & The Witch’s A little Bit Of Magic Bath & Shower Whip

Having a shower doesn’t mean you have to use a shower gel or a bar of soap. The body care industry consists of so many products it’s insane! If I look into my bath and shower stash there are soaps, shower gels, scrubs, soap sponges and even shower whips. Last year I purchased a specially priced box of bath and shower goodies from a small business called Druid & The Witch. One of the first products I tried was their bath & shower whip called A little Bit of Magic.

    What’s a whipped soap?

A whipped soap is literally what the name suggests. Its not a solid bar of soap or a liquid soap, it’s a soap that tends to be of a similar consistency to thickly whipped cream. You use it the same way you would use a more traditional form of soap to clean the body in either the bath or shower.

    Packaging

100g of whipped soap is housed in a clear lidded tub and labelled. It’s nothing sophisticated, in fact it’s incredibly basic. But it does the job and has a handmade and packaged sort of look to the product.

    How does it look?

A massive reason why I love whipped soaps is how they look. This whipped soap is mid purple in colour. It literally looks like someone has piped buttercream into a tub because of the shape its made into. This really does look edible and totally inviting.

    Fragrance

It’s predominately a citrus scent, but sweet rather than zesty. Scent wise this isn’t far off from resembling a juicy, ripe peach so quite mouth watering. Fresh and almost sweetie like but not in a synthetic way.

    In the shower

I’ve only used this in the shower and not in the bath. For my whole body I could’ve used a tablespoon sized amount, but I’m greedy and used more. When I took this out, I found the texture of A little Bit Of Magic Bath & Shower Whip semi solid. Think of a body butter but a little denser and you will get an idea on how this is textured. On a sponge and under a warm, flowing shower, this lathered up beautifully and the foam was creamy, white, soft and a joy to be covered in. It cleaned my body perfectly and left my skin with it’s faint fruity fragrance. Skin after shower was clean, soft, not dry and ready to receive any other products I wanted to put onto it. And as a psoriasis sufferer no irritation, and I wasn’t desperate to follow up with a body lotion or cream.

    Recommended?

I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for a great quality whipped soap and I’ve found one! This is GORGEOUS! It looks amazing, it smells divine and my skin loved it so much I can’t wait to try the other scents.
