  • Is Aldi’s Snow Fairy Shower Gel Dupe Any Good?

The supermarket Aldi is well known for their dupes. Skincare, haircare, body care products, many have a familiar look to them because they are ‘inspired’ by other brands. The one thing that they don’t share with the branded counterparts is the same price point. Aldi’s versions are cheaper, as many dupes tend to be. One product they bring out every year around autumn and winter time is their Lacura’s Sweet Angel Shower Gel. And what is this a dupe for? Snow Fairy Shower Gel by LUSH. But is this actually a good dupe?

Aldi’s Lacura Sweet Angel Shower Gel
    Packaging

This shower gel has always been housed in a tall and thin clear flip top lid plastic bottle. The only difference has been the label, which changes year to year. 2025’s version is pink, with silver stars on it, and quite pretty. Practical and nicely presented.

    Fragrance

Aldi’s Lacura Sweet Angel Shower Gel has a sweetie type scent to it. Think of a rhubarb and custard hard boiled sweet smell but replace the rhubarb with strawberry, and this is what it smells like to me! The scent is nice, but could smell a little more natural and less synthetic. It has a Snow Fairy like smell to it but not identical.

    Look & consistency

This shower gel is pink in colour, shiny, decent thickness to it which means it’s easy to pour but concentrated enough not to use half a bottle!

    Price

    £1.99 for 500ml.

    In the bath

Although this is a shower gel, I use it in the bath. It provides lots of bubbles when poured under warm running water, and I don’t need to use too much of it. The fragrance is there immediately and remains while I’m in the bath, but in a subtle way but still very much noticeable. The bubbles last a good amount of time and the shower gel itself is pleasant to use on the skin while washing, and has caused no irritation or drying out of the skin during or after use.

    Recommended?

If you’re a lover of sweeter scented bath and shower products you would appreciate this as a stand alone product, not just as a dupe! The fragrance is nice, decent size and packaging and doesn’t dry or irritate the skin (at least for me that is). Price point and quality thumbs up, so a good item to grab while grocery shopping.

  • Is This A Snow Fairy Scented Air Freshener Spray?

The fragrance Snow Fairy by LUSH, is such a popular scent. It’s been the centre of many duped products including Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel Shower and Bath Gel. What I haven’t found much of is this scent in home fragrance products on the high street. Surely it would make sense for your home to get the chance to smell like this and not just the body? So when I spotted Airpure’s Ice Queen Air Freshener Spray I had to see if it was similar in smell. So what is it like?

Airpure’s Limited Edition Ice Queen Air Freshener Spray
    Packaging

I quite like how Airpure package their air freshener sprays. This is quite short and chunky in regards to it’s canister. The spray function is a big trigger lever which makes using this very easy and simple. Most of this is coloured pink, which already is quite eye catching. Other than that it’s very practical but simple in design.

    Fragrance

This smells pretty much like the packaging says it smells of, which is bubblegum, pear drops and candy floss. I would probably say the pear drop side is the thing that comes through more. But overall this just smells like a mix of sugary, fruity sweets without being sickly.

    Strength & longevity

Spraying this, it comes out at as medium in strength. Anything stronger I think would be too heady. It lingers quite well and longevity is very similar to other brands of room sprays I’ve used before. It doesn’t last forever, but does provide a short term burst of fragrance. Great when used against smells you don’t want to smell, so overall a decent home fragrance product.

    Price

£1.25 for 250ml from Home Bargains. Fair price, not expensive and considering this is a dupe, I actually think is good value. You can also buy this online direct from Airpure for £1.49.

Does it smell like Snow Fairy?

I think it does! It’s not identical but similar, as it has the key notes of Snow Fairy. If you love Snow Fairy as a scent, you will enjoy this!

As a product it does what its supposed to do which is provide fragrance, and it does it well. The fact it smells similar to Snow Fairy means if you like that scent from LUSH or you like sweet scents, definitely worth a buy!

  • My Kids Bought Me Snow Fairy Bath Bomb From LUSH

I wouldn’t say I’m the hardest person in the world to buy gifts for, but I’m not always the easiest. Like most people, you have to know my general likes and dislikes, and dig a little deeper to get more specific. My children know how much I love a bath and how I love to add various things into it. So for my last birthday, my children bought me a few things, including Snow Fairy Bath Bomb from LUSH. Did I enjoy it?

Snow Fairy Bath Bomb by LUSH
How does Snow Fairy Bath Bomb look?

I’ve had Snow Fairy Bath Bomb before but this looks different. This is in the Snow Fairy iconic bright pink colour. It’s shaped like a very cute and simple angel e.g wings, holding a wand, but the back of it is flat. Great size as it takes up the majority of the palm of my hand. Solid, quite weighty, and typical chalky bath bomb consistency.

    Fragrance

There isn’t too many people out there that doesn’t know what Snow Fairy smells like. It’s a sweet, fruity, slightly candyfloss type scent which is hard not to like.

    In the bath

Popping this bath bomb on the top of an already run bath was like watching a show. It fizzed and released a little froth and colour around it which slowly turned the once clear water into a deep shade of pink Barbie would appreciate! Snow Fairy Bath Bomb kept going and going and going. Releasing colour, fizzing up, floating all around the bath while slowly getting smaller and smaller. This bath bomb didn’t want to disappear! It must have been a good 10/15 minutes when it finally finished, leaving no residue in the bath but lots of colour.

    On the skin

My skin has had it’s ups and downs last year, so I wasn’t too sure whether this would do more harm than good. Thankfully, it caused no problems. No stripping of the skin, no irritation. The only thing I did notice is how areas of my skin became very pink! I held the bath bomb when it was in the bath and that became a different colour compared to the other hand. My feet looked a little pink in shade too. This did disappear after many washes of hands (left the feet, wasn’t bothered!). I think the colour stuck onto me more because these areas were dry and needed a good exfoliating.

    Recommended?

If you’re a fan of Snow Fairy as a range or scent and love bath bombs then of course it’s a must! It looks great, smells nice and creates a nice bath. Would I buy this myself? Probably not. Considering how vibrant the bath was (and my skin afterwards!) the fragrance should have matched it and it didn’t (should have been stronger). I also don’t fancy turning into a colour changing person so would probably opt for a different type of bath bomb of a different colour.

  • The Festive Snow Fairy Wand By LUSH is Back!

When most people think of the store/brand LUSH, there is one fragrance and range of products that is incredibly popular….SNOW FAIRY! It’s a fragrance I originally was introduced to by using products inspired by this scent not by the official range itself e.g wax melts. But I’ve now experienced a few actual Snow Fairy products from LUSH, including their Snow Fairy Wand. This costs £8.50.

    Snow Fairy Wand
    Why did I buy this?

It’s something a little bit different from a traditional bath bomb or bubble bar so it caught my interest. It’s quirky and I thought I would enjoy using this.

    What is Snow Fairy Wand?

Snow Fairy Wand is a bubble bar but on a stick. With it being on a stick it can be used for more than one bath, and can actually be used to blow bubbles through the middle section of it.

    How does it look?

Snow Fairy Wand is a five pointed star shape. Quite thick and chunky in look with a circular hole through the middle. Its pink in colour with a stick going through the bottom of it.

    Fragrance

This smells just as good as the other items from the Snow Fairy range because it’s identical in scent. Sweet, slightly candy floss like with a hint of berries underneath. Perfect for those who love their fragrances on the sweet side.

    In the bath

I popped this under warm running water, and as soon at the water hit Snow Fairy Wand it immediately produced bubbles. Not only were the bubbles coming thick and fast but the water itself slowly went from clear to being pink in colour. The fragrance was there as well, not massively strong but enough to give a comforting and soothing fragrance experience. AND…I could blow bubbles from this! The whole in the centre, when blown into it, created sizeable bubbles which was fun.

I enjoyed being in this bath. The bubbles were soft and airy and lasted a lot longer than I thought they would and once out this didn’t dry my skin out at all. It also didn’t irritate my skin, which is an ongoing issue of mine. After using this, the wand was a little smaller because the water dissolved some of this, but not by much. So this should easily provide 2 if not 3 more baths in the future.

    Recommended?

This is a MUST for any Snow Fairy fan! It’s different, it’s fun, smells great and creates a really good bath. And, you can get multiple uses from this which makes the initial cost less expensive. Great gift idea for a bath lover or a pampering treat for yourself. Limited edition so grab it while you can!
