  • My Experience of Wax Melts From Home Of Honey

There are lots and LOTS of places you can buy wax melts. Supermarkets, discount stores, everywhere. But my favourite way to buy wax melts is direct from wax melt vendors. Their range of fragrances, shapes, sizes and forms are the most imaginative and creative wax you will ever see, and still quite affordable! Here is a lowdown of wax melt products I’ve used from wax vendor Home of Honey. All gifted, many used for every day home fragrancing, so what are they like?

    Shapes

I love different shapes in wax melts, and Home of Honey gave me lots of different wax melts in a variety of sizes and shapes. From the traditional wax melt snap bar, wax melt pot, small faceted hearts, cloud shapes, crumble. So many different forms with each being easy to use and great on the eyes.

    Colours

What I like about the colouring of Home of Honey’s wax melts is they are all quite subtle. Beautiful colours, nothing garish, all incredibly pretty with a few that really give the WOW factor. Many pieces finished off with a touch of glitter makes them even more special to look at.

    Fragrances

A good wax vendor will sell wax melts of varied fragrance types, and Home of Honey is no exception. Floral, laundry, bakery, perfume inspired, I got a chance to try them all! Mint Choc Chip Wax Melt Brittle was mouth watering. Rose Wonderland was a great mix of floral and fruit and Opium Goddess has that expensive, perfume quality to it. Gorgeous!

English Pear & Freesia Wax Melt Brittle
    Strength & Longevity

All of the wax melts I’ve used from Home of Honey have been medium in strength. To start off with they’ve been quite light (on the whole), but grown and became more obvious as they’ve melted through. All of them have lasted well longevity wise and I’ve had the chance to use each one for many hours at a time.

    Prices

Prices are varied but all affordable. Starting from 50p for sample sizes which is ideal to try a scent out you might not be sure about. Wax melt snap bars are £2.50. Wax melt bear shapes (soooo cute!) £2.50 and wax melt brittle for £3.00. Many more different forms and shapes available in wax form, and lots of different configurations, sets and collections are available for sale.

  • *NEW* Glow’s Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts

New releases. Don’t you just love them? I get excited when there are new product launches especially from brands I already like and shop with. My credit card not so much. Over the last couple of years I’ve been enjoying the fragrant wax and home fragrance products from UK wax vendor Glow. And now I’m getting the chance to enjoy their new bath and body products they’ve just released. I was gifted a selection of products to try out, including their Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts. These retail for £3.99 for 260g.

Glow’s Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts
    How does this look?

Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts is pale pink in colour and made up of the smallest grains. I can see bits of this glisten but it looks more powder like than crystal. It’s quite fine but still has a texture to it look wise.

    Fragrance

Pink Sugar makes me think of lots of pink flavoured sweets. Candyfloss, even marshmallows, possible berries such as strawberries and vanilla thrown in as well. A sweet lover’s dream and dribble worthy!

    In the bath

I’ve used this in two baths so far. Each time I’ve used about a quarter of this tub and once poured under running water it created foam, and lots of it! Not only was there foam but colour too. The bath water went from clear to a beautiful light shade of pink.

The fragrance was light but there. The strength was very comforting and the fragrance overall was enjoyable and very relaxing. Could the fragrance have been a little stronger? This is me here, a fragrance can always be stronger especially if I really like it! But I don’t think it would translate well being a punchy scent. It would be too heavy and not as nice and natural as it is now. So it’s actually the perfect level strength wise.

In the bath I really enjoyed these salts. The salts dissolved fully. I could feel the tiniest grains on the bottom of the bath but it was barely noticeable. The foam didn’t disappear after a few minutes. In fact, bubbles were still there right to the very end. The water was soft on the skin and the bath salts didn’t dry it out. In fact, there were a few irritated areas of skin on my back which seemed less irritated after using this.

    Recommended?

Glow’s Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts is a fabulous bath time product. It provides the best of both worlds when it comes to bath salts and a foaming bath gel/cream. This looks inviting, smells amazing, foams up beautifully and each pot should give 4 baths easily which provides excellent value. You won’t find something like this on the high street so 110% recommended!

This is available at the moment in various fragrances, including Pink Sugar, Peppermint & Eucalyptus, Dazzling, Snow Fairy and Creed. Want to order yours? Visit the website here and I dare you NOT to order!

  • Rice & Shea Flower Wax Melt By Strawberry’s Wax Creations

Can someone have too many wax melts in their collection? Yes. Does that stop them from adding to it? No. I am definitely THAT person who has an unhealthy addiction to wax melts and I’m not ashamed to admit it! One of my latest unnecessary wax melt orders has come from Strawberry’s Wax Creations (formally Strawberry Melts). I was pleased to receive Rice & Shea Flower Wax Melt as a free sample as it was totally unexpected. I decided to melt this because it’s a fragrance that intrigued me as I had no idea what it would smell like.

    How does this look?

A small but perfectly formed gingerbread man style shaped piece of cream coloured wax. Dotted with small, scattered shards of glitter.

Strawberry’s Wax Creations Rice & Shea Flower Wax Melt
    Strawberry’s Wax Creations Scent Description

An exquisite powdery feminine fragrance with top notes of ozone, ginger and aniseed, middle notes of coconut milk and rice flower, and base notes of amber sandalwood and musk.

    In melt

This little wax didn’t take long to melt due to it’s size. All I could see was it drowning in it’s own wax juices which when melted was a simple creamy coloured wax pool. The scent didn’t hit me straight away, it crept up on me after an hour or so. It worked its way in my living room where my wax warmer was set up and on.

    Fragrance

Rice & Shea Flower Wax Melt has a light and beautiful floral fragrance to it. It’s quite delicate and airy in scent. There’s a powdery element to it which gives it a comforting clean scent. There’s also a subtle zing to this finished off with a warming, light musk giving added depth. In all honesty, this is one of those scents that’s so hard to explain in words but it’s a very special fragrance.

    Strength & Longevity

Strength wise this is medium. It’s not designed to be punchy, but one that fills the air naturally. I’ve melted this for at least 10 hours ( over 2 days ) and the longevity has been very good. This has shown the same strength from when it first melted on Day 1 to when my warmer was turned off end of Day 2.

    Recommended?

As scents go, this wouldn’t be my first choice based on it’s name alone. BUT I really love it! This is a beautiful, comforting scent. It’s gorgeous and very unusual and I need more! So totally recommended!

  • When Unicorn Fly Wax Melt By Strawberry’s Wax Creations

As somebody who has a slight addiction to buying and use wax melts, it’s very hard to avoid new wax releases. My wax melt stash is pretty large, so to curb temptation I delve into my haul of wax I already have (and forgotten about). To keep my credit card safe and my home fragrant with a new scent, I’ve delved deep into my wax melt stash and pulled out When Unicorn Fly Wax Melt by Strawberry’s Wax Creations to use.

    Why did I buy this?

I bought this as a set from Strawberry’s Wax Creations (formally Strawberry Wax Melts) towards the end of 2019. This set consisted of different scented wax pieces which were all unicorn themed scent wise. I bought this set because anything connected with unicorn in scent tends to be quite sweet in fragrance which I love. The set costing £10.00 with 10 wax melts in 5 different scents I thought was great value so a totally winner!

    Strawberry Melts When Unicorn Fly
    Strawberry’s Wax Creations Scent Description

Loads of sweet, rich buttery top notes followed by fresh coconut and itty bitty hints of sweet berries with bottom notes of yummy, super sweet vanilla.

    How does this look?

This set of two wax melts came in mint and white colouring. Both differently shaped with both looking like they’ve been set in a mini fancy cake or jelly mould. Small golden butterflies sprinkled on the top of each to complete the look. Size wise these were roughly 1 inch and raised, so not completely flat.

    In Melt

This is quite a good sized wax shape so it took some time to fully melt. When it did it the now liquid wax became a deeper green colour.

    Fragrance

It took awhile to figure out how these wax melts smelt but they smell like strawberry pencils! Those highly addictive long pencil shaped sweets with white fondant running through the middle is how this is fragranced. Creamy, sweet, slightly strawberry confectionery type scent with definite hints of coconut. This is one of those scents that will have you wiping the drool from your mouth once you smell it because it’s delicious!

    Strength & Longevity

When Unicorn Fly Wax Melt is medium in strength. Fighting cooking smells in the kitchen means it had a decent punch to it. Longevity was great as well. I had this on for 3 days melting away at 4 hours a time. The scent was still there and I only changed the wax melt because I wanted a different fragrance.

    Recommended?

Those who love their sweetie inspired scents you will love this as much as I do! Its sweetie and fruity like, totally yummy and an enjoyable scent to melt. Absolutely recommended and yet again great quality wax melts from Strawberry’s Wax Creations.
