  • Going Bananas For The Body Shop’s Banana Bath Blend

I’m always on the look out for new products, especially for the bath. When you love your baths as much as I do its easy to go through different fragrances and different forms of bath time treats. So when something comes up that is different and unusual, it will always grab my attention. I was given by a friend The Body Shop‘s Banana Bath Blend. I’ve never seen or heard of this before which meant I NEEDED to use it.

The Body Shop’s Banana Bath Blend
    What’s a Bath Blend?

Bath Blends harness the powers of fruit and vegetables. They combine vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to create a moisturising and nourishing bath product to provide a decadent and above average bubble bath.

    Packaging

250ml of bath blend comes in a screw top lidded clear bottle. You can see the bath blend in it, with the labelling complimenting the colour of the blend perfectly with its hues of green, orange, yellow and brown. Very earthy in appearance and strangely enough could easily be mistaken for a milk based drink because of how it looks and its contents. Very appealing!

    Fragrance

I was praying this wouldn’t smell artificial and fake and thank god it didn’t! Banana is an odd scent which could go horribly wrong as it’s not the easiest scent to create. This smelt to me of chopped up slightly ripened bananas. Drizzled with a touch of honey and a dash of cream thrown on top. It’s creamy, sweet but not sickly and has an almost vanilla like element to it. Truly beautiful, true to life and not for drinking!.

    Consistency

Its not a gel or a bath cream. It’s milky/creamy yellow in colour and has quite a thinnish consistency to it, but not too watery. If you have ever tried a bath milk I would say this is similar when poured out.

    In the bath

I didn’t need to use much of this. Under warm running water this lathered up like a dream and created ALOT of foam/bubbles. Underneath the foam the water was a very pale yellow colour. But it was the scent that got me. Exactly the same as what I smelt in the bottle, but mixed with warm water in a warm room it truly was beautiful. Not heavy, not too strong, very comforting and yummy and just the perfect scent to help set the scene for a great bathing experience.

    On the skin

Very kind and gentle while in and out of the bath. No drying of the skin, no irritation, and I didn’t walk around smelling like a milkshake!

    Recommended?

Unusual fragrance. concentrated formula, created lots of bubbles and was gentle on my skin? Definitely recommended! It’s a great bath product which is different because of how it smells and it’s consistency and creates a fabulous bath. The Bath Blend not only comes in banana, but also berry, mango and pear! Each one costs £8.00 which is more than your average bath soak but it IS different! Visit The Body Shop online to grab your fruity bath time bath blends.

  • Bath Time On A Budget With The Body Shop’s Moringa Bath Bubble

One of the easiest ways for me to relax is in the bath. Perfect time to switch off, unwind and have some important time to myself. So it’s no wonder I have so many bath products in my collection! One product I used recently which was given to me by a friend, was The Body Shop‘s Moringa Bath Bubble. This retails for £1.50.

The Body Shop’s Moringa Bath Bubble
    What’s a Bath Bubble?

The Body Shop’s Bath Bubbles when popped into the bath produce bubbles, fragrance and colour.

    How does it look?

Wrapped in a small yellow coloured packet, Moringa Bath Bubble is a small, flat, yellow, heart shaped looking bath bomb/fizzer. Hard in feel and slightly chalky like a bath bomb. It’s very simple in look, very plain but still left me intrigued and wanting to use it.

    Fragrance

Moringa Bath Bubble‘s fragrance is an uplifting, slightly sweet floral mixed in with a touch of plant like smell. I’m not a massive floral fan. But because this isn’t heavy and doesn’t have one particular flowery scent dominating it, I found this to be really nice.

    In the bath

Under warm running water, I could see the outer layer of this Bath Bubble fizzing nicely and it started to produce small amounts of foam. By the time I came to turn the water off there was a surprising amount of foam created from such a small little item! White, fluffy, super soft and airy foam lay on the top of a slightly yellow/marine coloured bath water, which impressed me greatly. The original fragrance I could smell when I opened the packet was what I could smell in my bathroom, but it was beautifully subtle which I loved!

This was a very relaxing and enjoyable bath. On my skin, I felt Moringa Bath Bubble was quite moisturising on the skin. I didn’t feel I needed to use anything straight away on my skin after I got out of the bath because my skin wasn’t dried out at all.

    Recommended?

Before I was given this I didn’t realise that The Body Shop made these AND bath bombs. I didn’t realise that a small £1.50 love heart would be of such high quality and unbelievably affordable and create so many bubbles. Fab little bath time treat which doesn’t break the bank, so totally recommended!

  • The Luxurious Warm Vanilla Body Scrub From The Body Shop

Most of us have at least one scent that’s special to us. Mine is vanilla. I adore it! It’s warming, it’s moreish and it brings back memories of when I was younger, covering myself in vanilla body oil and spray from The Body Shop. My love for vanilla isn’t going away, so I was beyond happy to receive Warm Vanilla Body Scrub by The Body Shop (funnily enough) as a birthday present from a friend.

The Body Shop’s Warm Vanilla Scrub
    Packaging

250g of product lives in a clear pot, with a beautiful labelled lid with pictures of vanilla pods and flowers dotted over it. Very festive in look with added silver detailing. How this is presented is very pleased on the eye.

    How does it look?

The colour of this scrub looks like honey, or liquid caramel or toffee. It looks so rich and resembles something you could eat. You can just about see its not totally smooth in consistency as it looks a little grainy.

    Fragrance

There’s no mistaking this is vanilla! Warm, sweet and comforting. At the same time there is a slight muskiness in this with a faint floral scent as well. This isn’t your typical sugary, synthetic vanilla fragrance, it’s absolutely delightful.

    Texture & Consistency

There are lots of grains in this scrub, but not so much where you feel its solid. They are perfectly sized grains of sugar which are living happily in an almost serum like oil. Its not a sloppy mixture, its easy to take what you need and apply to the body but loose enough to move freely over the skin.

    In Use

Some scrubs I would apply on damp skin this I didn’t. I wanted to feel and enjoy the oiliness of this product direct onto dry skin. This was applied to my whole body. The grains in the scrub didn’t feel harsh but definitely did the job you would expect from this type of product. The scent made the process enjoyable adding to my pampering experience. Using this scrub was relaxing, it felt like a touch of luxury and was a pleasure to use.

    After Use

My skin felt super soft after using Warm Vanilla Body Scrub. It didn’t feel or look dry but was moisturised and slightly scented. No irritation occurred, which is very important ( I’m a psoriasis sufferer and all the naughty foods and drinks I ate over Christmas has really caught up on my skin! ).

    My Top Tip

To get the most out of this scrub and upgrade it from an exfoliator to more of a treatment, don’t rinse this off but slip into the bath straight after its been applied. Your skin will thank you for it for creating a mini bath soak.

    Recommended?

This product is heavenly! I really can’t praise this scrub enough. If you are a vanilla lover like me, you will automatically love this. If you love your body scrubs in general you will love this as it’s a fantastic, pampering scrub that does what its supposed to do and more.

  • Did You Know The Body Shop Sells Wax Melts?

Home fragrance. There is nothing nicer than filling your home with beautiful fragrances, especially during the colder months of Autumn and Winter. It gives a cosy and comforting feel in rooms which is important when you spend more time inside than outside. That’s one of the reasons I love to use wax melts during these seasons. Considering I thought I was a bit of a wax melt know it all, I was a bit shocked to discover that The Body Shop actually sold wax melts! How did I find this out? Through a friend that gave me The Body Shop’s Enchanted Forest Wax Melt. So what is it like?

    Enchanted Forest Wax Melt

Enchanted Forest Wax Melt is a special edition item. Possibly available just over this winter season. It’s a scent that The Body Shop describes as bringing ‘ The fresh forest scent indoors ‘.

    How does it look?

Enchanted Forest Wax Melt is a green circular disc shaped wax roughly 2 inches across and 0.5 inches in depth. It’s flat underneath, but on the top there’s a very festive Christmas tree shape embossed onto it, giving it a slight 3D feel. Housed in a protective plastic little holder and then shrink wrapped. This is 15g of wax.

    In Melt

I wasn’t too sure how much to use of this, but considering how many wax melts I’ve used over the years I trusted my judgement and popped in two thirds. It took a little time to melt in my kitchen but it released fragrance steadily.

    Fragrance

Enchanted Forest has a scent of pine in this. Earthy, leafy, plant like. But what makes this quite special is it has an sweetness to it as well. With that combined with the overall freshness this gives off, it makes this easy and enjoyable to smell. And, just in case you were wondering, it smells NOTHING like a pine scent toilet cleaner! If all Christmas inspired pine wax smelt like this I would buy it more often, because it’s beautiful!

    Strength & Longevity

Strength is medium. I could smell it clearly in the room it was melting in and it travelled into the room next to it. It also had to combat cooking smells, so it had to have some power to it. Longevity is good as well. I’ve had this on for over 12 hours over 2 days and it’s still going.

    Enchanted Forest Wax Melt
    Recommended?

Yes! For this time of year and over Christmas, this is an ideal piece of wax to melt. It’s very seasonal and perfect when you want something fresh in scent. It looks great, smells great and currently on sale for £1.50 ( normal price £2.50 ). What is there not to love?
