  • Treacle Moon’s Sunny Brazilian Love Fragrance Mist

I am a sucker for a fragrance mist! They are the most affordable and easiest way to get a daily fragrance hit if and when needed. Having a teenage daughter who ‘borrows’ my fragrances means I’m not too annoyed because they’re not expensive. If she loses or uses them they can be replaced easily. The Latest one I’ve purchased is Treacle Moon’s Sunny Brazilian Love Fragrance Mist from Tesco. Usual price £4.50, Clubcard price £3.00.

Treacle Moon’s Sunny Brazilian Love Fragrance Mist
    Why did I buy this?

I love Treacle Moon product and I’ve used many of them, including their hand cream, shower and bath gels and body scrubs. Their fragrance mists were new, priced cheaply and I wanted to see if they were just as good as other Treacle Moon products I’ve used.

    Packaging

Sunny Brazilian Love comes in a plastic spray bottle. Eye catching thanks to the vibrant label which looks fun, youthful and screams Summer.

    Fragrance

This has an interesting blend of creaminess to this with a slightly tropical smell to it (probably coconut). It’s mixed in with some light floral notes, so I would describe this as a fusion of tropical fruit and florals. It’s really nice. It definitely has a Summer vibe to it and I find it quite relaxing rather than energising.

    In use

I rarely apply fragrance directly onto the skin. It normally is sprayed onto my clothing. The stream coming from the spray was generous and fine, which I loved. And the fragrance immediately hit, which smelt great. I was quite heavy handed with application because I wanted the scent to last the morning. But what I found was the fragrance didn’t last. Not only was the strength very weak but I could barely smell the scent which was disappointing. It’s such a nicely scented fragrance mist it just wasn’t strong enough and needed to have a better longevity.

    Recommended?

I hoped for great things with this fragrance mist. But it’s not a product I would buy again because the longevity and strength just wasn’t there for me. If I apply a fragrance, I want to smell it at least for a short time. This failed. Would this react differently on the skin? I’m not sure, but on clothes it was a no from me. Such a shame as this smells really good, just needed to pack more of a punch.

  • Reduced Priced Products In Boots

As much as I would like to visit the store Boots more regularly, I can’t. Time and location of the stores means if and when I visit it’s normally for another reason. But when I’m in the area I always like to have a look to see what’s available and check what special promotions are on in regards to bath, body, skincare or fragrance products. Did I find anything during my most recent visit, and more importantly, did I buy anything at a special price point?

    My bargains in Boots
Treacle Moon’s Papaya Summer Shower & Bath Gel

I’m a fan of the brand Treacle Moon, and I’ve tried (and loved!) quite a few of their products including Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts, Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel and Papaya Summer Body Scrub. So I grabbed their Papaya Summer Shower & Bath Gel which was reduced from £1.99 to £1.38. When I got to the till it actually scanned at 50p, so I went and grabbed three more! 500ml in size, smells amazing (tropical and fruity) and is the perfect Summer scented bath and shower product.

Salt of the Earth Unscented Natural Deodorant Crystal

I’m very open minded to natural body products. Salt of the Earth Unscented Natural Deodorant Crystal got my attention because we go through LOTS of underarm products. With a 14 and 12 year old you can imagine the amount I have to buy in various fragrances and types. This seemed very affordable (£1.38 down from £5.50). Contains 100% natural ingredients, unscented and is supposed to not leave white marks. I bought 3 in the end.

Salt of the Earth’s Unscented Natural Deodorant

So these were the two bargain buys I found in Boots. 4 shower and bath gels and 3 natural deodorants for roughly £6.00. Not bad if I say so myself! It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on shelves in stores such as Boots, Superdrug and also supermarkets because there can be some really great priced products available to suit even the lowest of budgets.

  • What’s New In Home Bargains

The lure of buying new skincare, fragrance, bath and body products is a strong one. But if you’re going to have a little splurge on yourself or on others, try and make it as affordable as possible. I’m always on the look out for new products on the high street but I don’t want to make expensive purchases. So what have I found that’s affordable recently in Home Bargains?

    New Finds in Home Bargains
Treacle Moon’s Creamy Shea Butterfly Bath Salts

I love the brand Treacle Moon. It’s normally found in certain places but not everywhere. Their products are budget friendly, great quality and enjoyable to use. Finding their bath salts in Home Bargains nearly gave me a heart attack because they were priced so low (£1.99), they look pampering and perfect for gifting. Not to mention they come in a glass jar which is reusable and easy on the eye.

    Calcot Spa’s Smoothing Body Scrub

For only 99p, this orange and wild rose scented body scrub from Calcot Spa grabbed my attention as I’ve only ever spotted it in Tesco. The cheapest price I’ve ever seen this for was £2.00. So for 99p this is a steal!

Calcot Spa’s Pamper Bliss Smoothing Body Scrub
    Calcot Spa’s Soothing Bath Soak

The perfect partner to their Body Scrub, Calcot Spa’s Peaceful Sleep Soothing Bath Soak looks like it’s made for relaxation. Fragrance wise this includes spiced ginger and bergamot orange. I can imagine this being a very comforting bath product. A great size of 500ml, this costs, like the scrub, only 99p.

    Face Fact’s Wonder Cream

Face Facts Wonder Cream is designed to give the skin hydration and a healthy glow and natural smoothness to the skin. Normally £7.99 on the Face Facts website, in Home Bargains it’s currently £3.99 for 50ml.

    Face Fact’s Wonder Cream

No wonder no one can go into this shop and buy just the one thing! Too many products and not enough time to try them all out….and I haven’t mentioned ALL the new products I’ve found (watch out for the next post). Such a great selection of budget friendly skin, bath and body products!

  • Affordable Treacle Moon’s Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts For £1.00!

It can be the simple things that make people happy. The feeling of peace and quiet shut off from the world. A few moments of pure relaxation and alone time. I’m basically describing having a bath! If you love your bath you will know having that time submerged in warm water with various lotions, potions and products in it really can be bliss. That’s why I take my bath products very, very seriously. During my last trip to high street retailer Boots I purchased not only Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel Shower & Bath Gel, but also their Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts. The bath salts cost £1.00 for 80g.

Treacle Moon’s Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts
    Why did I buy these?

I bought Treacle Moon’s bath salts a few years ago when they were available in Aldi and I thought they were great! But I hadn’t seen them since instore. When I saw these I had to purchase them! The price was still affordable and the scent from the name alone sounded perfect.

What is Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts?

These are baths salts that contain safflower and jojoba oils. You place the salts in your bath and they produce bubbles. Fragranced, foaming and vegan friendly.

    Packaging

The bath salts come in a sachet. Fun in look, colourful and you actually can smell the fragrance of the bath salts from the packaging without even opening it.

How do these bath salts look?

I expected Sweet Berry Kisses to be pink or purple in colour because of their fragrance but it wasn’t. What I got was not typical bath salts in structure, but quite a fine powder with a few irregular sized pieces in it and the odd glisten of tiny crystal shapes. The actual colour? Brown! Not much different to hot chocolate powder that you just add water to it. Not massively appealing but was a big surprise.

    Fragrance

A mix of slightly zesty but sweetened orange with ripe berries. An absolutely stunning scent and quite unusual as I don’t think I’ve smelt anything similar before in a bath product.

    In the bath

Under warm running water, these bath salts immediately created soft, fluffy foam. It also turned the water from clear to a light pink colour which I didn’t expect because of the actual colour of the salts. The fragrance was there but light which suited me perfectly because a heady scent was not what I needed at the time. The foam/bubbles created wasn’t a massive amount but enough to cover the surface of the bath. They lasted a decent amount of time too which always helps.

In the bath I enjoyed it. As mentioned the fragrance was the right strength for me at the time (I had the mother of headaches), I spent 20 minutes in there and felt my time was well spent.

I did worry once out if my skin would react to it. Since the temperature and humidity in the UK has risen, my skin hasn’t liked it. A few small areas of skin have been itchy, sore and easily irritated. These bath salts didn’t cause any issues at all and were actually quite gentle on my skin overall and didn’t dry it out either.

    Recommended?

Although this could be thought of as not the most economical because it’s only designed for one bath, I think it’s great. Perfect to add in a gift for someone, ideal to take away when travelling. And of course to just use at home when the mood takes you is a given. So I love the idea of this one bath serving sachet as it’s convenient with zero waste! Fragrance is stunning, creates foam, non drying or irritating to the skin and produces a lovely relaxing bath for £1.00. What more do you need? Totally recommended!

Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts can be found in a few selected stores such as Boots, Waitrose and direct from Treacle Moon themselves.
