  • B Blissful Baby Powder Squeezable Wax

I’ve been a wax melt lover for years now. I’m open minded to using other forms of home fragrance, but there is something I find very addictive about a good melt. One alternative to solid wax I haven’t used before is squeezable wax…until now! Towards the end of last year I bought some wax melts from a wax vendor called B Blissful, and I couldn’t help but purchase as well two different fragranced squeezable waxes as they were on sale. I tested out Baby Power first, which costs £3.00 for 100g ( at the time I think I paid £2.00 for each ).

Why did I choose a squeezable wax? I’ve known about this type of wax for awhile and I guess it was purely down to curiosity that I purchased it. Baby Powder was an easy choice because I’m familiar with the scent and I love a simple, clean fragrance to use and experience.

B Blissful Baby Powder Squeezable Wax

What’s a Squeezable Wax? A wax that isn’t hard and solid like a traditional melt or candle. It’s soft, and as the name suggests, you squeeze it out to pop into your warmer to use. Despite it’s form it still is designed to provide fragrance.

Packaging. The wax comes in a clear tube. Flip top lid on the bottom, with vendor, fragrance name on a label on the front and relevant detail e.g ingredients, on the back. Basic but very practical.

Scent. To get a proper whiff of this it was much easier for me to unscrew the lid and smell it that way. I could definitely get the typical baby powder scent. Clean with powdery notes. It’s just one of those fragrances that we all know and this is spot on for what it’s trying to mimic scent wise.

Consistency. Quite strange to see this squirt out of the tube! To me this reminded me of an emollient cream. Quite thick, white in colour but didn’t appear to be silky smooth almost on the granular side. But this does contain coconut oil so made perfect sense to me. I’ve used coconut oil in the past and depending on temperature, if cold, does have this kind of texture.

In the warmer. I couldn’t tell you the actual measurement of wax I used, I just squirted it in! Because it’s not totally solid I found this melted super quickly, smelt the same as it did in the tube but stronger. It made my living room smell clean and cosy, and the fragrance filled it well considering it’s a medium sized room. What I liked about this was the fact I could go back and easily add more ( which I did ). The wax itself when melted was clear, no colour and nothing added to it such as glitter or mica pigments. Although I did notice after it melted there was a slight shimmer in the warmer dish. So maybe a secret surprise that wasn’t obvious from the start?

Strength & Longevity. Strength I thought was medium. Baby Powder as a scent can be quite a powerful one and heady. This was perfect for me! Although if I added a little more it may have been stronger. Longevity was good. I had this melting for a good number of hours over 2 days and it still threw scent well.

Pros. Warmer months sometimes aren’t kind to wax. They can sweat, even melt and occasional leech colour. In a tube this wax is protected. In fact, warmer temperatures mean easier use of this as it maybe softer and more fluid like. Great as a gift idea. They look different. Wax melt lovers will be excited to try this out if they haven’t already. And I think these are easy to display and store. Want to do some mixology? Of course you can snap and break normal wax but surely its easy to squirt one wax and then another in the warmer then melt?

Cons. Its just isn’t as pretty and satisfying to watch melt as a traditional wax melt. When I get new melts not only do I stare at them like beautiful newborn children but sniff the hell out of them when cold, and you can’t really do that with squeezable wax. Something I did notice when I used this was I really did have to give it a good squeeze. It was a very cold evening and with there being such a high coconut oil content to it, this does react in temperatures so I assume it was down to this. But a little rub with the hands sorted that out so no massive issue.

Recommended? I think it will take me awhile to get used to using a squeezable wax but its definitely an interesting product! Everything about how this smelt and lasted got thumbs up from me. Not having to touch, cut or break wax was a bonus, plus how quickly it melted too. And I like the idea of the wax being safe and sound in a tube, keeping my containers clean so easy to store. So it is recommended! Not to mention great value. A typical good quality wax melt or pot weighing at an average of 45-50g can cost from £2.00 upwards. So this can provides hours of affordable fragrance.

Fancy something a little different in the form of wax? B Blissful’s squeezable wax is available in a variety of fragrances ( I counted over 30! ) and you can choose what colour you want it in from a selection of 9. So what’s stopping you? Order here now!

  • Secret Scents Home Fragrance Fireside Wax Melt Clam Snap Bar

We all have our favourite or go to scents when it comes to how we fragrance our homes. One of mine is a scent called Fireside. It’s cosy, homely and literally is one of the most comforting scents I’ve ever experienced. Recently I was gifted a Fireside wax melt clam snap bar from a wax vendor called Secret Scents Home Fragrance. So what was it like?

Secret Scents Home Fragrance Fireside wax clam snap bar
    Packaging

This wax comes in a sturdy plastic casing, which to open you simply pull the top of it to open. The label is very appealing and perfect for home fragrance products like this. Black in colour, scent name included along with brand and finished off with a gold ribbon secured to the top. Beautiful and very sophisticated!

    How does this look?

Once you open the casing you can see the wax is off white in colour. Plain and very simple. Turn it around and it’s a little more special and festive, with a generous addition of various sized glitters in red, green and silver. You can see how the wax is segmented in 6 very chunky square, which you snap off to use.

    Fragrance

Fireside is fresh fragrance but with musk and woody notes. Dashes of incense and a hint of delicate sweetness. Quite manly in a certain way but also warming, comforting and truly intoxicating.

    In melt

Before this turned from a solid to a liquid, the scent was quite strong. Melting Secret Scents Home Fragrance Fireside Wax Clam Snap Bar just made this scent get stronger and stronger. The fragrance travelled through both my kitchen and living room beautifully. From just one square this fragrance reached a good distance.

    Strength & Longevity

This fragrance is a powerhouse and is very strong. Not only was the strength great but how long the fragrance lasted was just as good. One cube melted away for over 3 days and the strength remained as strong and as vibrant as the day it first was used.

    Recommended?

Nicely packaged, a generous amount of wax and the most glorious fragrance ever, so yes, recommended! A great quality piece of wax which I can tell Secret Scents Home Fragrance really puts the time and effort into their creations, as this isn’t the only wax I’ve tried from them. This wax melt clam snap bar costs £6.50, which will provide hours of home fragrance if and when needed.

  • Pretty Home Aromas Cosy Cuddles 80g Wax Melt

My wax stash is not getting smaller, it’s just getting bigger! I promise myself time and time again that I will use up my fragranced wax more. But then I buy more than what I’m melting! But while it’s cooler and I’m enjoying being inside more than outside, this makes the perfect time to use more home fragrance and hopefully get my stash down. My home fragrance of choice, of course, is in the form of a wax melt. And this particular wax piece comes from Pretty Home Aromas and is in the scent of Cosy Cuddles.

Pretty Home Aromas Cosy Cuddles 80g Wax Melt Segmented Pot
    Why did I buy this?

I recently bought a beautiful Autumn scented wax bundle from Pretty Home Aromas, which included this piece. Wanting to chose something from this collection, I opted for this scent because I hoped for something quite fresh but calming at the same time.

    Packaging

80g of wax sits in a flip top clear plastic pot. What I like about this is on the lid it gives a brief description of the scent and what fragrances are in it. The lettering and logo being in black really makes it stand out and look very upmarket. On the bottom of the pot is the relevant ( and legal ) ingredients list.

    How does it look?

If the character Tinkerbell was ever an inspiration for wax it would be this one! A simple base of cream coloured wax with a random and sparingly run through of mint green. A large leaf ( not real ) is embedded close to the middle and surrounded by gold coloured glitter and green shimmering pigment. Absolutely stunning!

If you turn the wax around to look at the bottom, you will see how although it’s one whole piece, its segmented like a piece of chocolate so you can break off individual sections for use.

    Fragrance

A minty scent with a subtle herbal based background, finished off with an intoxicating sweetness and a dash of musk. It’s one of those scents which makes you want to inhale it. This fragrance is fresh in its own way, but warming at the same time. I wouldn’t normally associate this with any form of mint, especially eucalyptus. Very comforting, very relaxing and a little cuddle in wax form!

    In melt

I used only 1 segment of this wax. I just loved how it melted into a decadent wax pool of hues of brown and green with a little glitter. I’ve melted this in both my kitchen and living room ( at different times ), and I found the fragrance filled the rooms beautifully. Exactly the same scent when melted as it was when solid.

    Strength & Longevity

Strength I would say is medium. This was ideal for the scent type, and it just smelt and seemed so natural rather than a piece of wax just melting in the corner. Noticeable and very inviting. Longevity was great. This lasted for hours over a 3/4 day period and only on its last day I felt the strength got less.

    Recommended?

A total recommendation here! Visually this is a gorgeous piece of wax! It’s just so pretty! Take into consideration the look and amount of wax you get is fantastic value. And I can’t forget to mention ( which is the most important thing! ), how gorgeous the scent of this is. The scent itself is definitely Autumnal but a nice change to the classic, bakery based scents most of us love around this time of year. This wax literally is bringing the outside into the home without you opening the front door!

Does the sound of a Cosy Cuddle without socially distancing yourself sound like your type of scent? You can order your segmented wax melt direct from Pretty Home Aromas here and it costs £4.50. Enjoy!
