  • A Summery Frozen Lemonade Wax Melt From Wickford & Co

Fragrance, whether that’s for the body or the home, can be a very seasonal thing. Autumn tends to be a time to use more cosy and warming scents. Winter is comforting, yet crisp and fresh scents. Spring can be more clean and floral and summer uplifting, fruity and sometimes a little tropical. Personally, I use whatever I feel like using at the time. But my most recent wax melt I’ve used in my home has been Wickford & Co’s Frozen Lemonade Wax Melt Snap Bar from Home Bargains. So, what is it like?

    Price

79p for 88g of wax melt.

    Packaging

This wax melt snap bar comes in a standard plastic casing which the wax was probably melted then poured into it to create the bar shape. It’s sturdy, practical and clear. But the thing that makes it stand out is the label. Yellow, to match the scent, with an image of lemons on it. It’s not amazing art work but it’s easy on the eye.

    The wax melt itself

This wax melt comes in the form of a wax melt snap bar. It’s a chunky, rectangular bar of wax made up of 8 squares. Snap off as many squares as you need to use. Frozen Lemonade is a soft shade of yellow. No other colours, no glitter, patterns, nothing. Just one block of colour.

    Fragrance

This has an almost fizzy, sweetie lemon scent to it. It’s not tart, it’s not sour, but is a lemon citrus closer to more of an edible sweet version (think lemon sherbet but less zingy). It’s quite uplifting, not too sweet and smells really nice.

    Strength & longvity

I used two cubes in a wax warmer in my hallway. I found the fragrance wasn’t immediate but did build up and become more noticeable. Strength was medium. Perfect for this type of scent. Longevity wise I had this on for at least a good few hours, maybe up to 4 before turning it off, and it remained consistent in strength and scent.

I heard good things about Wickford & Co’s Frozen Lemonade Wax Melt Snap Bar from people who had bought it. I thought the actual scent of this was very nice. Not a sickly sweet fruit based wax but had an effervescence to it which balanced it out. This is a great wax to melt during summer if you are a seasonal fragrance person. The fragrance not only smelt great but it had the ideal strength to it and lasted as long as I needed it to. Should you buy it? Yes. For 79p it’s a decent quality wax melt that will provide hours of summer inspired fragrance.

  • Home of Honey’s Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar

Why is home fragrance important? It sets a mood. A nice smelling home or room is inviting and comforting when you’re in it. On a practical level home fragrance products can get rid of the not so nice smells we all experience, such as cooking. These are just two reasons why home fragrance products, especially wax melts, are very popular. One wax vendor I’ve been introduced to is Home of Honey, who recently gifted me various wax melt products, including Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar. I’ve been melting this recently, so what is it like?

    Packaging

This wax melt snap bar comes in a plastic casing. I find these great because it keeps the wax secured inside and makes it very easy to store. Since the casing is clear, you can see the wax and the front is finished off with a simple but effective label.

    How does the wax look?

Lily of the Valley comes in a long, rectangular five segmented bar. It’s a buttery golden colour with a subtle gold shimmer running through it.

    Fragrance

Powdery, white florals. That’s the best and easiest way to describe how this smells. This isn’t the type of fragrance I normally go for but it’s pretty and the perfect fragrance to enjoy during Summer.

    In melt

I used Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar in two rooms in two different wax warmers. In one, with a slightly larger dish, I used two segments. In the other I used one. Both melted very quickly and left a gorgeous golden, shimmering wax pool behind.

    Strength & Longevity

This is medium strength wise. I rarely find floral based wax melts to be stronger than this so this is what I expected. It’s the perfect strength because it gives the air a natural fragrance rather than an over the top, heady one. Longevity I find is good. I’ve had both wax warmers on for two days with Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar melting for a good number of hours and I can still smell it. Although it’s not as strong as it was on day 1, I think overall it’s performed very well.

    Recommended?

I’ve enjoyed experiencing Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar. It comes across as quite a traditional floral fragrance which floral fragrance lovers should like. The powderiness of the scent gives it a very clean feel to it which I found very appealing. I would recommend this if you’re looking for Summer styled fragrances and floral based ones because it’s really nice and brings the outside in.

If you want to buy Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar or other fragrances that are available, the wax melt snap bars only cost £2.50 each.
