  • Cosy Winters Night Whipped Soap By Lotions & Potions

What products do you use in the bath or shower to wash your body? The market is FULL of various gels, creams, mousses and soaps, that we’re spoilt for choice. Personally, what I use depends on my mood. If I’m in a ‘I want to treat myself’ mindset, I will go with something a little luxurious. If I’m tired and have lost the will to live, something ordinary and simple. One product I’ve used on and off over the years in both the shower and the bath is whipped soaps. The last one I purchased was in Lotions & Potions December Pamper Box, caled Cosy Winters Night Whipped Soap. So, what is it like?

    Packaging

120g of whipped soap is housed in a clear, plastic, lidded pot. The fact it’s clear lets you have a sneak peak of what the whipped soap looks like. The lid, I love, as it’s embossed with the Lotions & Potions logo. Also included is a mention that these products from this business are chemical free. The packaging is practical, simple, not flashy and has a ‘natural’ feel to it.

    Look & consistency

Cosy Winters Night Whipped Soap comes in a beautiful and bright spring like yellow colour. Very vibrant and eye catching. The whipped soap you can see has literally been piped into it’s packaging because of the shape its in. It looks thick, solid, holds its shape and dusted with glittery pigments and silver and gold tiny star shapes. Very pretty!

    Fragrance

Cosy Winter Night Whipped Soap is a difficult scent to describe. Its fresh and clean, which is great for everyone and anyone. Very comforting in scent, has a sweet amber like hint to it. It’s beautiful and definitely screams winter to me.

    On the body

I use a fingertip amount of this whipped soap on each body part. Despite the fact that this comes out quite hard and solid, rubbed into the skin it softens and almost melts away. On a sponge, this lathers up beautifully but doesn’t create bubbles. What it does is leave a creamy, soft covering over the skin, it then does what a traditional soap does on the skin, slightly foam and then clean. Does it clean the skin well? Oh yes! Very enjoyable and easy to use. The scent made this product even more decadent and pleasurable and left my skin feeling soft, smooth and clean.

    Recommended?

Gorgeous fragrance, texture to die for, cleans the skin well and does it in a way that its an experience rather than a simple wash of the body. Yes! Recommended! If, like me, you love your richer, thicker textures when it comes to the products you use, you will LOVE this!

Cosy Winters Night Whipped Soap was part of special, seasonal box, so no longer available. But other scented whipped soaps are available here. All 120g and £5.50 each. Enjoy!

  • Pampering Glow’s Rainbow Reef Whipped Soap

There’s so many different types of products that can be used to clean the skin on our bodies. Bars of soap, body washes, shower gels, there’s lots to choose from on the market. What I don’t see everywhere on the high street is whipped soaps. I’ve only ever purchased them from small businesses and my latest one came from Glow. Included in their October’s Subscription Box, was Rainbow Reef Whipped Soap.

    Glow’s Rainbow Reef Whipped Soap
    Why did I use this?

It’s getting a little colder and my skin needed a more moisturising experience in the shower. Not only that, but I find whipped soaps to be a simple, quick but pampering experience which my body needs right now!

    What’s a whipped soap?

A whipped soap is used to clean the body in the bath and/or shower. It literally is a whipped soap, soft, light, not solid, and should be an effective cleanser but moisturising at the same time.

    The look

Rainbow Reef Whipped soap is a beautiful shade of light blue with darker speckles of blue running through it. In the pot it looks like the consistency of whipped cream. You can see how it literally has been pipped into it’s packaging which makes it look almost edible.

    Fragrance

This has an almost mineral base to this. Clean, fresh but slightly sweetened with a hint of citrus. This is beautifully scented and wouldn’t be offensive to anyone.

    Texture

I expected this to be softer but it actually has a nice density to it which I like. It is soft, it definitely is whipped but holds its shape which meant it was easy to use.

    In the bath

I used this while in the bath. A small amount of Rainbow Reef Whipped Soap was placed on a sponge and I rubbed it over my damp skin. The fragrance was intoxicating, which made using this really enjoyable. I found the soap almost melted into the sponge when damp, and on the skin created a cream like foam. Not airy bubbles at all but creamy. My skin is still a little irritated at the moment but this gave me no issues at all.

This was very easy to wash off and left my skin feeling very clean and lightly fragranced. It wasn’t dried out at all and I felt it worked as an effective body cleanser.

    Recommended?

It’s took me a long time to get into using whipped soaps because I just didn’t understand them. Why not use a bar of soap or a bath/shower gel? I don’t have that opinion anymore, obviously. What I like about Glow’s Rainbow Reef is the look of it is appealing, the fragrance is stunning, the texture is perfect and it does what it’s designed to do! It cleans the skin on the body in a pampering way and doesn’t dry out the skin. Why would I NOT recommend this?

These whipped soaps are available to purchase individually for £4.95 for 100g. They also come in a variety of fragrances such as Rainbow Reef, Strawberry, Bubblegum and Pineapple Coconut Vanilla. To grab Rainbow Reef (or any others), head over to the website and I dare you not to be tempted by all their bath and body treats!

  • The Rose & Thistle Wax Patisserie’s Cuddles Whipped Soap

Who doesn’t like a one stop shop? I always shop around online or in physical stores to get the best prices for top quality products. But to be able to find a place that sells different things that you equally love is literally heaven! After purchasing wax melts from a vendor called The Rose and Thistle Wax Patisserie and being very impressed by them, imagine my delight when I found they sold bath products too! I bought a variety of bath bomb type products and whipped soaps a few months ago, including the whipped soap in the fragrance of Cuddles.

    Why did I buy this?

At the time all the bath products were on sale so reduced in price and great value. Perfect time to try them out and to buy some as gifts. I already love whipped soaps so needed no convincing! The fragrance Cuddles I thought would make a nice change from what I already had scent wise on my bathroom shelf.

    Packaging

60g of whipped soap comes in a screw top plastic jar. A simple label on the front and an ingredients label on the bottom.

    How does it look?

Almost a raspberry ripple two tone look going on, but blue and white instead of pink and cream. Beautifully and simply piped into the jar giving it an almost edible look to it. Look wise this resembles a body soufflé because of the little air pockets in it, but has a more thicker looking structure.

    Fragrance

It’s funny how certain scents you just know and immediately recognise. I never used the traditional baby products on my children when they were tiny e.g powders and lotions. But I know what they smell like. Cuddles reminds me of a well known baby lotion. Its clean, it has delicate floral and powdery notes to it and its near identical in scent to the lotion.

    Texture & Consistency

Texture wise this is quite solid. I expected it to be softer and airy. What it reminded me of was a body butter but not as waxy. It rubbed into my sponge easily so no issues there, and I quite liked how thick this soap was compared to others I’ve used in the past.

    In the shower

I used enough to cover half a finger, which then went onto my sponge. I lathered it up under the warm running shower which produced some foam. It cleansed my skin well, but I did go in for a second helping as I felt I needed more to finish off the rest of my body

    My skin

My skin felt clean but not stripped of any natural oils and seemed very comfortable and quite nourished. The scent of the whipped soap didn’t linger and I couldn’t smell it on myself after my shower.

    Other thoughts?

I would have liked more foam. Just a little bit more I think would mean I could have used that touch less, and give more of a pampering feel.

    Recommended?

I quite enjoyed using this. I loved the scent and texture of this, and felt it did what it needed to do on my skin. For my personal use, this jar would be too small. For it to be practical I would need this to be at least double the size because I would be replacing this way too often. Generous sample size at 60g to try out. And as part of a gift, stocking filler or hamper, this size is great! Overall a lovely introduction to the bath product side of The Rose and Thistle Wax Patisserie, which I would be happy to try again but more likely to give to others as gifts. Fancy owning your own whipped soap, get your own Cuddles here now for £3.50.

  • Luxurious Lolly & Moo Crystal Ball Whipped Soap

These days a bar of soap or a bath or shower gel is not the only way to wash our bodies. The imagination of companies and businesses in this area is pretty impressive, which means as customers we get variety and choices to match our needs, wants and budgets. A product that falls into this category as got to be a whipped soap! And using Lolly & Moo’s Crystal Whipped Soap that was released last year was an experience. It costs £8.50 for 140g.

Lolly & Moo Crystal Whipped Soap
    Why did I use this?

I’ve enjoyed using whipped soaps. It’s a great and fun alternative to other products you could use in the bath or shower. All of the whipped soaps I’ve bought have been from Lolly & Moo. So when they made and released Crystal Whipped soap last year I HAD to try it because it looked and sounded amazing!

    What’s a Whipped Soap?

If you’re not too sure what a whipped soap is, its exactly what it sounds like. It’s a soap that has been whipped and fluffy in texture and you use it to wash your body with. You use it the same way you would with a bar, pop it on a sponge or on your hand and wash you body.

    How does it look?

This whipped soap comes in a clear jar so you can see exactly what you are getting. Lilac in colour, and literally piped into it’s packaging giving an edible ice-cream look to it. Sprinkled with dark purple mica pigment, gold and silver glitter and tiny silver stars. And how could I forget the semi-precious stone placed on the top like that very important cherry on top of a cake? This whipped soap could easily be THAT cake you dribble over while passing counters selling delicious cakes and pastries in your favourite supermarkets, restaurants or cake shops. This..is.. SUNNING!

    Texture

Airy and light, but this has a good thickness to it. Very easy to use and feels very luxurious. If you could use a body butter to wash with that had been whipped to an inch of its life, this is how I would describe the texture to be.

    Fragrance

Inspired by a well known fragrance, this SMELLS like a perfume! First thing I pick up on is floral. Its not a strong floral but definitely a fresh one. There’s a hint of citrus, a little sweetness and lastly musk which gives it depth. Its a gorgeous fragrance, easy and pleasant to smell and just the right strength to enjoy.

    On the skin

When I say you don’t need much you really don’t. An amount the size of the tip of you finger placed on a sponge, is ample. With the addition of warm water from the shower this foamed up beautifully. It’s like bathing in something that could be a body moisturiser, it feels that hydrating. Cleans the skin without drying it, and gives it that hit of moisture thanks to ingredients such as apricot kernel oil.

    Recommended?

YES! It does what its supposed to do which is to clean the skin, but its so much more than that. The way it look, it’s so enjoyable to use and it keeps my skin in great condition while washing it. This is affordable luxury at its best!
