  • Everything Pumpkin Scented For Your Home in Home Bargains & B&M

I’ve been keeping an eye on the high street for more autumn scented home fragrance products to hit the shelves. FINALLY, over the last week or so I’ve noticed a clear autumn feel, perfect for those who like to change their home fragrances seasonally. I’ve visited TK Maxx and Primark to see what they had pumpkin scented, and decided to see what Home Bargains and B&M had available in the same fragrance family. So what do they have?

    Home Bargains
    Pumpkin Chai Wax Melt

This particular one, Pumpkin Chai, was available last year, so clearly a popular scent. I can’t recall whether I’ve tried this one in the past, but it’s a little different from the usual pumpkin inspired scents on the high street. 99p for 100g.

    Pumpkin Chai Wax Melt
    Pumpkin Chai Reed Diffuser

If you’re a fan of the Pumpkin Chai scent, why not double up with the wax melt AND reed diffuser? Reed diffusers are handy to provide fragrance in areas where you can’t access electricity or use a tea light. 100ml in size, nicely packaged and only £3.99.

    Pumpkin Chai Reed Diffuser
    Pumpkin Pecan Waffle Reed Diffuser

Although I couldn’t get a whiff of this, I’m hoping Pumpkin Pecan Waffle as a scent will be quite sweet, almost bakery like, which sounds good to me! Probably a little more country style in packaging compared to the Pumpkin Chai Reed Diffuser, but still looks good. Designed to provide fragrance for up to 14 weeks. £3.99.

Glade’s Pumpkin Spice Latte Plug In

Containing one refill and one plug in, this set home fragrance product will provide a hit of autumnal fragrance while not costing too much. Refills can be expensive. These sets can be costly, but this retails for £3.99 which isn’t bad at all!

Glade’s Pumpkin Spice Latte Plug In
Air Wick’s Pumpkin Spice Reed Diffuser

If plug ins or automatic sprays aren’t your thing, a reed diffuser might be. Pumpkin Spice, again, is by Air Wick. With this being a well known brand that delivers different home fragrance products, there’s a sense of reliability. Provides up to 4 weeks of fragrance. Costs £3.49.

I found these pumpkin scented home fragrance products recently. But with stores ramping up their autumn ranges, I’m confident there’s even more on the shelves as I type! To buy or not to buy?

Honestly? There was so many pumpkin scented home fragrance products in both Primark and TK Maxx my head was spinning! This was just a selection of some of what’s available. The ones I could sniff all smelt great, and definitely had the pumpkin element to it. How these products were presented blew my mind! I never look at home products in TK Maxx but I will have to in the future. And as usual, Primark has delivered with what they have in store.

So if you’re looking for candles, reed diffusers (and more) in a pumpkin scent, you need to visit these two stores!

  • Products I Bought & Used In The Month of August

Its officially September! For me? I’m happy about this. Kids go back to school, routines can come back into play and we drift into my favourite time of the year…autumn! But as a month, how was August in regards to budget friendly products I bought and used?

Impulse’s Wide Awake Sapphire Fragrance Mist

A body mist I managed to grab at an amazing low price, but I found Impulse’s Wide Awake Sapphire Fragrance Mist to be great mist scent wise but poor strength and longevity. Not a product I would buy again. It didn’t last long and was too subtle. But I would happily try other scents in this range in the future.

Frozen Lemonade Wax Melt From Wickford & Co

An ideal wax melt to use during summer, Frozen Lemonade Wax Melt From Wickford & Co was really enjoyable to use. Fruity, energising and not the usual tropical scents that is pushed out for this time of year. A typical low priced but good quality product available in Home Bargains.

    L’Oréal’s Hyaluron Expert Eye Serum

Anyone that has issues with their under eye area and wants to address it, will try many different eye products to deal with the problem. My current eye product is L’Oréal’s Hyaluron Expert Eye Serum which is very different from products I’ve used before. The serum applicator acts as a massage tool! It’s a pricey product (of course, I didn’t pay the rrp!), but a product I enjoy using morning and night and I THINK it’s helping slightly!

    Superdrug’s Coconut Oil Clarifying Shampoo

First time I’ve used Superdrug’s Coconut Oil Clarifying Shampoo and it will be the last. Of course, I will use the bottle up, not wasting it! I didn’t find this shampoo was right for my hair. Cleaned scalp? Yes. Cleaned hair? Yes. Enjoyed using it? No.

    ASDA’s Wellness Awaken Wax Melt

Not only do I love a reduced priced product, I love it when it turns out to be really good! ASDA’s Wellness Awaken Wax Melt is a beautifully fragranced wax melt which is a great combination of eucalyptus, tonka bean and vanilla. Great scent, nicely packaged but longevity needs a little improvement.

    Awaken Wax Melt

All of the above products I bought (at different times and months) and used in August, and all were bought at very affordable prices. Some products I liked, some I didn’t. But I know what I would repeat purchase and avoid in September!

  • Is A £1.00 Wax Melt From ASDA Worth Buying?

If you love wax melts you probably have a healthy stash of them some where in your home. I know this because I do! So buying more wax melts isn’t something that I need, but I did stumble upon one recently I couldn’t resist and bought. This wax melt was from ASDA, a part of their home fragrance range Wellness in the fragrance of Awaken. Cost? Was £2.00 down to £1.00. So what is it like?

    Packaging

The packaging was the first thing that got my attention. Rather than the wax being in plastic, this is housed in a cardboard box. The box itself is exactly the same colour as the wax melt, which you can see from the open window on the front. A lovely sage colour, box is slightly textured and looks very neutral and natural.

    The wax

This wax melt is what I call a wax melt snap bar. It’s made up of 6 chunky squared cubes which you break off to use. Sage green in colour, plain, but the fact its exactly the same colour as the packaging for some reason makes something so simple look really good.

    Fragrance

This is an interesting combination of herbal and sweet. I get the cooling mint from eucalyptus, which is very fresh and aromatherapy like. But this also has a sweet, creamy, comforting element from it which is vanilla. This doesn’t come through as strong as the eucalyptus but it’s there. This mix is really good, many people will like this as it comes across very soothing.

    Strength & longevity

I was worried this would be a very light one. When this first started to melt through, the scent was barely there. But it grew, thankfully! The strength was medium which made the fragrance waft beautifully and noticeably down my stairs. Longevity wise? I melted this over a good number of hours. I did feel the scent was still there but longevity could have been a little better and longer. But it really wasn’t a massive thing as the scent is so good! Although I did only use one cube, maybe two may have been better. Overall, performance of this wax melt was ok.

    Recommended?

This isn’t a typical scent, but in a good way. It’s one of those scents that most people will like. It has the freshness, but not the powdery notes, of a laundry style scent. But has an aromatherapy style to it which makes it interesting. I love this! The fragrance is gorgeous and perfect for relaxation, the packaging is is great along with the price. So if you are looking for a cheap but nicely scented wax melt, check out your local ASDA for this one!
