  • Simple Skincare Products In Farmfoods Under £2.00!

Skincare for most of us is part of our everyday routine. We all want different things from the products we put on our face, which means it’s great to have a variety of different brands on the market. One brand that is a regular in my household is Simple. The brand gears towards people who want or/and need products that are effective, affordable, but more importantly contain or leave out ingredients for more sensitive skin. That’s why it was great to see a small selection of their products in my local Farmfoods store at lower prices compared to other places on the high street. So what did I find?

    Simple skincare products in Farmfoods
    Purifying Cleansing Lotion

This is a cleanser aimed at a more drier skin type. Helping to gently remove dirt and grime from the skin without stripping the skin of it’s natural oils. This doesn’t contain colour and perfume, so ideal for sensitive skin. Farmfoods current price? 99p. Everywhere else? From £2.29 upwards.

    Simple’s Purifying Cleansing Lotion
    Moisturising Facial Wash

An effective but kind to the skin facial wash. Doesn’t dry out the skin, and should leave skin feeling fresh and clean. Like the lotion, it doesn’t contain unnecessary colouring and fragrance. Farmfoods price? £1.99. Everywhere else? From £2.29.

    Simple’s Moisturising Facial Wash
    Replenishing Rich Moisturiser

This is designed to be a moisturiser that nourishes and protects the skin without being too heavy. Ideal for a drier or older skin type, or those who like a more richer texture for their moisturiser. Like the other products in the range, no colour or perfume is included. Farmfoods price? £1.99. Everywhere else? From £2.29.

    Simple’s Replenishing Rich Moisturiser

If you’re someone who uses this range and these products, visiting Farmfoods is a must. The prices are cheaper compared to other stores, but these aren’t necessarily regular stock items and the products available were limited. But any savings count, right?

  • New In Home Bargains! I’m Plant Based Body Wash By Original Source

When you have teenagers in your household, they come with so much stuff! Clothes, trainers, electrical devices AND body care products. I have one teen that has sensitive skin, so I keep products simple and free from colours and fragrance. For my other teen, anything goes, and he seems to like his shower products to be fragrant. So having him in mind, I bought a couple of bottles of I’m Plant Based Body Wash by Original Source from Home Bargains for 79p. So what is this like?

I’m Plant Based Body Wash By Original Source
What’s so special about this body wash?

This body wash has lots of things about it that may make this different to other body care products from Original Source, such as:

    • Paraben free – parabens are chemicals which helps preserve products and lengthens their shelf life.
    • Sulphate free – sulphates help to create foam and helps to make a product an effective cleaner.
    • Fragrance comes from a natural source.

Some people will find the above appealing when it comes to what they use on their skin, some are less concerned. But having different products available omitting certain ingredients gives people choices and not stuck with the standard offerings.

    Packaging

335ml of body wash is housed in a plastic flip topped lid bottle. Clear but green in colour with the labelling making a massive point of this product being plant based along with it’s benefits. The look of this ties in well with the Original Source brand but is clearly marketed as a more ‘natural’ product.

    Fragrance

I’m Plant Based Body Wash comes in the fragrance Cedarwood & Eucalyptus (or at least that’s the only fragrance I saw available). The scent of this body wash is what I would describe as being clean, woody, earthy, herbal and very much has an aromatherapy type smell to it. This would work well for those who want a more masculine type scent and not the typical floral or fruity notes. Do I like it? I would need to be in the mood for this. It’s not a fragrance that’s on top of my list but I would still use it!

    Cost & where to buy

This cost only 79p from Home Bargains. Probably the cheapest I’ve found any Original Source bath or shower product (minus travel size).

    Worth a purchase?

Considering the price, amount of product and the brand this comes from, as long as the scent is your type of thing, I would give it a go! So worth checking out your local Home Bargains store to see if they have this in stock, and also to see if there’s other fragrances available too!

  • Crackle Wick Wax Melts For 79p From Home Bargains

There’s so many wax melts available on the high street, how does anyone choose which ones to buy? The most important thing for me is the fragrance, and is it something I would probably enjoy melting. But what will drag me in first is how they look or are packaged. Crackle Wick Wax Melts from Home Bargains is my most recent wax melt purchase. Each one is 79p and comes in a variety of different sets of fragrances. So what are they like?

    Crackle Wick Wax Melts
    Packaging

These wax melts come in a clear, plastic casing. Label on one side showing you the scents of the wax and the other is clear so you can see the wax. This type of packaging makes it easy to store wax melts, keep them in tact and safe.

    The wax itself

Crackle Wick Wax Melts come in three different fragrances. The wax comes in one 2 segmented wax melt snap bar for each fragrance with each duo coloured differently to reflect the fragrance. The colours match the label on the front too. All block colours, plain, no added sparkle or anything embedded into it.

    Fragrances

I bought two Crackle Wick Wax Melts. One contains Fresh Vanilla Pod, Rich Toffee and Sweet Biscuit (Coffee Shop). The other Soft Delights, Light Denim and Cosy Wool (Cosy Comforts). The trio including Fresh Vanilla Pod are definitely comforting, bakery like scents. Sweet, sugary, buttery, basically everything that you would think of when you see the fragrance names. The trio containing Soft Delights is the polar opposite. Fresh, clean, almost laundry like with a hint of floral. Both smell, from their casings, really good and what I would hope for from what their names are.

    First impressions?

So far so good. Affordably priced, nicely packaged and a decent amount of wax (88g in total in each). Having three different fragrances is a good idea, which you can mix up to create your own bespoke scent. Overall, my first impressions are I like these. But how they perform is the important part, so let’s see if they fully deliver!
