  • June’s Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

June was a busy month for me. Filled with important (and costly!) birthdays and lots of other things to keep me on my toes, which is called life. But as usual it didn’t stop me using and enjoying (well, sometimes) products for the face, body, bath, shower and home fragrance. So what products did I use in the month of June?

    Products I used in June
    Aveda’s Radiant Skin Refiner

I’ve heard of Aveda as a brand before but assumed they just did haircare, but I was wrong. They also have skincare products under their umbrella too. I really liked using their Radiant Skin Refiner, which is basically a facial scrub. Great size (so would last ages), easy to apply, an effective exfoliator which left my skin feeling and looking smoother and softer.

Aveda’s Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner
Bubble T’s Hydrogel Under Eye Patches

For 49p Bubble T’s Hydrogel Under Eye Patches were a pretty obvious purchase to make. They won’t make a huge difference to this area of the face but they are fun to use, cooling (even more so when put in the fridge) and affordable!

Bubble T’s Hydrogel Under Eye Patches
Primark’s PS Elements Night Pour Homme Eau de Toilette

Bought for my teenage son, Primark’s PS Elements Night Pour Homme Eau de Toilette was a perfect fragrance to purchase for him. Smells great and suitable for any age, simple packaging but stands out and didn’t cost me a small fortune!

Primark’s PS Elements Night Pour Homme Eau de Toilette
Glow’s Raspberry Candy Floss Shower Gel

A beautifully sweet and lightly sugared scented shower gel from small business Glow in the form of Raspberry Candy Floss. Very gentle on the skin, foams up beautifully, lovely fragrance and created an insane bath!

Glow’s Raspberry Candy Floss Shower Gel
So…? Unique Floral Night Body Mist

So…? Unique Floral Night Body Mist is the body mist I never knew I needed in my life! The perfect fragrance if you love a mix of sweet, fruity and floral because it is sooooo good! Ideal to use all year round but perfect for Summer time use.

So…? Unique’s Floral Night Body Mist
Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel Shower & Bath Gel

Fragrance wise, this is such a good shower & bath gel from Treacle Moon, that you will wonder which is better between this and LUSH’s Snow Fairy scent. Frosted Candy Anger Shower & Bath Gel is 500ml of super bubble making, fragrant bath and shower product that will keep your skin clean and pampered for a good amount of time.

Treacle Moon’s Frosted Candy Angel Shower & Bath Gel
Feather & Down’s Sweet Dreams Bath & Shower Steamers

For 99p, these bath and shower steamers from Feather & Down, purchased from Home Bargains, was a steal! This brand doesn’t normally have such a low price point on their products. But it wasn’t 99p worth spending for me because I didn’t feel they were the best as a bath fizzer or as a shower steamer. Great idea, looks good, eye catching packaging but the actual product was a let down for me.

Feather & Down’s Sweet Dreams Bath & Shower Steamer
Shea Moisture’s Power Greens Hair Care Range

Finding the right hair care products is harder than skincare in my opinion, or at least it is for me. I found Shea Moisture’s Power Greens products easy to use, great at cleaning the hair and scalp without stripping it leaving my hair softer and more manageable.

Shea Moisture’s Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Haircare

So these were some the products I used last month. Did I have any favourites? Probably not, as they were all so different. But quite a few I would happily repurchase again for the second time.

  • May Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

May finally was a good month for me. Why? The constant running and blocked nose thanks to hay fever slowly left the building and my senses finally returned to their normal glory. It means I’ve been able to use lots of products that I could actually SMELL and appreciate and I could finally review. So what products did I use in the month of May?

    Products used in May
Snow Fairy Bath Bomb from LUSH

This was the first I’ve ever used this bath bomb and I can understand what all the fuss has been about over the years! Snow Fairy Bath Bomb smells amazing, looks super pretty, colours the bath in a lovely shade of pink and is surprisingly very moisturising! Definitely a winner for me!

Dirty Work’s Bahama Balm-A Coconut Body Balm

Given to me by a friend, I was hoping Dirty Works Bahama Balm-A Coconut Body Balm would be a tropical hit of moisture. But I found this to be too light weight for my skin although it smelt pretty nice. Not for me, but passed to my teenage son so it doesn’t go to waste.

Dirty Work’s Bahama Balm-A Coconut Body Balm
Selfless by Hyram’s Centella & Green Tea Gel Cleanser

A purchase I resisted for many weeks but finally caved in. Selfless by Hyram’s Centella & Green Tea Gel Cleanser is a really good, non fragranced and easy to use cleanser. It’s gentle on the skin but effective on removing dirt and sun cream. And this was brilliantly priced so much I could afford to buy a few for future use.

Selfless by Hyram’s Centella & Green Tea Gel Cleanser
Yankee Candle’s Lemon Lavender Fragrance Spheres

For £1.99 this makes a Yankee Candle product a good buy. But my own personal experience made me think this wasn’t money well spent. This smelt nice but the strength just wasn’t there. I’ve heard and read people have found these to be very good, so maybe I chose the wrong fragrances. But this is a no from me and I won’t buy another one unfortunately.

Yankee Candle’s Lemon Lavender Fragrance Spheres
Glow’s Crime Scene Investigators April Wax Subscription Box

I’ve fallen in love with all the subscription boxes I’ve received from Glow. They are brimmed with products which makes great value, imaginatively themed and fantastic quality. Crime Scene Investigators April Wax Subscription Box (which I won in a competition) was no exception! Crafted with care with a mix of unusual and fabulous scents, I loved every piece in this collection.

Smooch Vixen By So…? Eau de Parfum

I’m a great believer good fragrances don’t need to be expensive. Smooch Vixen By So…? Eau de Parfum is a beautifully scented fragrance housed in a very cute bottle. This wasn’t expensive and currently on their website for under £5.00 for 30ml. Great for all ages and as I’ve discovered the perfect fragrance to be nicked by a pre-teen!

Smooch by So…? Vixen Eau de Parfum

So that is my May round up done and dusted! Which one was my favourite? That’s a hard question to answer. But this month I enjoyed more products than not enjoying. Let’s see what June has in store, can’t wait!

  • April Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

2023 really isn’t messing about is it? It wasn’t that long ago we were all wishing each other Happy New Year and now it’s May! How did THAT happen? I seem to say this every month but honestly time is flying by so quickly. And in that time I’ve been using more bath, body, fragrance and skincare products and reviewed each and every one of them. So what did I enjoy using (or maybe not) in the month of April?

Products I used in the month of April
Tu Est Belle Body Spray By Designer Fragrances

There’s nothing nicer than getting hold of a beautifully scented fragrance product that not only smells expensive and designer but is super cheap too! Tu Est Belle Body Spray by Designer Fragrances is inspired by a well known perfume and only costs 99p! This is a body spray this does the job of giving a hit of fragrance, can be topped up if and when needed and smells gorgeous.

Tu Est Belle Body Spray by Designer Fragrances
Dirty Works Coconut Foaming Sugar Scrub

Dirty Works Coconut Foaming Sugar Scrub is a body scrub that can be found on the high street and online at an affordable price. Easy to use, decent fragrance but I felt this was geared towards a younger market. Or for those who wanted a fun product rather than a hard working one. It was ‘ok’ but not a scrub I would gravitate towards or purchase myself.

Dirty Work’s Foam At Last Coconut Foaming Sugar Scrub
    Glow’s Madame Coco Rollerball Perfume

Gifted to me from Angela at Glow, Glow’s Madame Coco Rollerball Perfume is a sophisticated fragrance product perfect for those who want to apply fragrance on the wrists and neck. This is perfect if you want a designer fragrance like scent without the price tag because this costs under £5.00!

    Glow’s Madame Coco Rollerball Perfume
    Zoflora’s Midnight Blooms Scent Crystals

Highly fragranced cleaning products seems to be growing even more in popularity. So it’s no wonder many of these brands are branching out into official home fragrance products. Zoflora have released quiet a few items to fragrance the home, including Midnight Blooms Scent Crystals. Great alternative to wax melts, zero clean up and these smelt so good. But I can’t help but wish these were just as strong as the cleaning products version.

    Zoflora’s Midnight Blooms Scent Crystals
    Neom’s Overnight Facial Cream

This was given to me by a friend and my skin thanks her for it! Neom’s Overnight Facial Cream is a lovely, rich (but not heavy) night cream which leaves the skin looking and feeling rested the following morning. Pricey but very good quality!

Neom’s Perfect Night’s Sleep Overnight Facial Cream
Bubble Up’s Blissed Out Berry Bath Melt Bar

A great (and in my opinion a better) alternative to a bath bomb, Bubble Up’s Blissed Out Berry Bath Melt Bar created colour, bubbles and was very moisturising to the skin. The only thing it didn’t quite get right was the fragrance and its strength. But overall still a great product to put into the bath.

Bubble Up’s Blissed Out Berry Bath Melt Bar

So that’s my round up for April completed. What products did you use in April and how do you rate them? Let’s see what the month of May has to bring….

  • December Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

It’s now the perfect time to look back on the products I’ve used over the last 4 weeks, since December is drawing to a close. Some things I’ve enjoyed using more than others. But what I will say is I still had fun trying each of the products I’ve written about this month. So what products did I use in the festive month of December?

Some of the products used in December
Primark’s PS Candy Cane Kisses Bath Bubbles

I’ve bought Bath Bubbles from Primark before and been a little disappointed by them. But Candy Cane Kisses so far has been the best one I’ve used from the store. Not perfect, but great look, size and scent.

Primark’s PS Candy Cane Kisses Bath Bubble
    Lush’s Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb

I haven’t used anything from the bath bomb favourite store Lush in such a long time. Lush’s Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb made me think this was a massive mistake! Cute in appearance, affordable (compared to other bath bombs they sell) and when I say I enjoyed this in the bath I mean it 100%!

    Lush’s Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb
Marks and Spencer’s Shea Butter & Honey Hand Balm

I never thought it would be possible to find budget friendly body products in Marks and Spencer, but I did! Marks and Spencer’s Shea Butter & Honey Hand Balm is a product you can repeat purchase without breaking the bank while keeping your hands in good condition.

    Marks And Spencer’s Hand Balm
    Neom’s Uplifting Hand Balm

I went from one cost extreme to another when it came to hand balms this month! But I was very lucky to be given Neom’s Uplifting Hand Balm rather than buying it and what a lovey gift it was! Pure luxury from it’s packaging, texture and scent.

    Neom’s Uplifting Hand Balm
Primark’s PS Raspberry Ripple Bath Bubbles

My second Bath Bubbles in December from Primark in the form of their Raspberry Ripple fragranced version. Not as good as Candy Cane Kisses but an acceptable bath time treat. Ideal for those who want to keep the cost of bath products low, but not on my repeat purchase list.

Primark’s PS Raspberry Ripple Bath Bubbles
    Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts

For 99p, Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts was a great purchase. Enough for two baths, aromatic, very relaxing and provided a great start to an evening before bedtime.

    Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts
Treacle Moon’s The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower & Bath Gel

I keep forgetting about Treacle Moon, which is naughty of me! They have such good products available that you can afford to use everyday without saving for special occasions. And Treacle Moon’s The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower & Bath Gel falls into this category. A beautifully scented shower and bath gel that screams Winter, which foams up so well in the bath and under £2.00!

Treacle Moon’s The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower and Bath Gel
    Aldi’s Gingerbread Reed Diffuser

My second ginger based buy in December, but this time Aldi’s Gingerbread Reed Diffuser was purchased to fragrance my home not clean my body. This didn’t break the bank but I would have happily paid a bit more if the fragrance was stronger.

    Aldi’s Gingerbread Reed Diffuser

So that’s my round up for December 2022 done and dusted. Except the Neom’s Uplifting Hand Balm which was a present, the total of all these items reviewed came up to…..

    £13.13!
