  • New In Home Bargains Including Mallows Beauty Products!

Finding new products in Home Bargains always makes me nervous! It gets my fingers twitching to make a purchase which I don’t necessarily need but want. Surely this isn’t just me? I’m weak when it comes to new bath, shower, body and skincare products and unfortunately I’ve found some new ones in HB recently. So what did I find?

    Decleor Mini’s

Yes the Decleor mini’s are back! Incredibly popular because as a brand the products were expensive when sold in department stores in the UK. These are definitely mini sizes and range from 5ml to 25ml, which is perfect for travel or to try out. Different products are available including their facial oils and night cream, still only 79p per sachet (with sachets containing 1 or 2 products).

    Decleor mini’s

    Nail & Cuticle Oil Pen

Cuticle oil is something a lot of us overlook using (I’m one!). They instantly can make your nails look and feel healthier and well kept. But most come in a brush or dropper form in a bottle. This is an actual pen you can ‘paint’ around the nail quickly, no mess and easy and handy to travel with. This comes in strawberry and orange fragrance. £1.00.

    Nail & cuticle oil

So these are the products I’ve found recently in Home Bargains. All newly on shelves (except the Decleor mini’s), all affordable and budget friendly products to use regularly or to gift.

  • 10 Beauty Products In Home Bargains For Under £3.00!

What can you get for £3.00? Not much! The raising costs of anything and everything these days is still a massive issue with the majority of people feeling it in their wallet and purse. But it’s still possible to find really affordable items on the high street, especially for the skin and body. Here are 10 beauty products I found in Home Bargains this week:

10 Beauty Products In Home Bargains For Under £3.00!
Oh K!’s Vitamin C Sheet Mask

This skincare sheet mask contains a full sheet mask and a sachet of powdered Vitamin C. Applied together, left onto the skin for 10-15 minutes, should provide a pampering treat for the face. Designed to hydrate and brighten the skin. Perfect for those who like sheet masks but want to take it one step further. 49p.

Oh K!’s Vitamin C Sheet Mask
    Brightening Caffeine Eye Mask

Applied onto clean, under eyes, these eye masks should make tired looking eyes appear better. More rested, brighter, smoother and very easy to slot into an everyday skincare routine or a one off pampering session. 49p.

    Brightening Caffeine Mask
    Biovene’s Lip Butter Balm

This lip balm has been available in different versions but the most recent one I spotted was in avocado. A highly moisturising lip balm, containing moisture giving ingredients including shea butter, avocado, grape seed oil. olive fruit oil and jojoba oil. These come in a super cute little pot, so the ideal type of packaging for gifting. 99p.

    Biovene’s Lip Butter Balm
    Biovene’s Eye Masks

There were two versions of Biovene Eye Masks that I spotted. One was Hyaluronic Eye Mask designed to hydrate tired and dry under eyes thanks to containing hyaluronic acid, aloe vera and Vitamin E. The other version was Retinol which is for more aged under eye area (e.g dehydrated, lined and wrinkled) and these contain retinol, peptides and hyaluronic acid. Both were only 29p.

    Biovene’s Eye Masks
    Sunkissed Sunset Whip Hand Cream

This hand cream is packaged in a bright and fun way, which made it immediately eye catching. Tropical in scent (so probably fruity), this hand cream hopefully should be moisturising without being too heavy or greasy. 99p.

    Sunkissed Hand Cream
    Sence’s Body Cream

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve seen this body cream in different fragrances. But the most recent was Energise. A floral fragranced body cream formulation containing argan oil and shea butter. This sounds like a body product that will be richer than a lotion but not as heavy as a body butter or balm. 99p.

    Sence’s Body Cream
    Sence’s Mousse Body Lotion

Containing sweet almond oil, shea butter and sandalwood, not only does this sound like it will smell great but have a beautiful whipped texture to it too. Nicely packaged, unusual delivery system but only £1.29.

    Sence’s Body Lotion Mousse
    Simple’s Smoothing Gel Cleanser

If I was to buy any of these products it would be this! Gentle on the skin but designed to be an effective cleanser and exfoliator thanks to it containing lactic acid and hyaluronic acid. So this shouldn’t strip the skin of it’s natural oils and won’t do any harm to the skin’s natural barrier. £1.99.

    Simple’s Smoothing Gel Cleanser
    Face Facts Body Scrub

This body scrub comes in different fragrances but I found Energise on the shelf during my last visit. Fragranced in ginger and lime, this should be a zesty, fresh and warming fragranced body product. Not only will this product get rid of dead skin cells and dry skin, leaving skin soft and smooth. But if left on the skin while you soak in a relaxing bath, will provide another body treatment thanks to it containing sea salt. £1.99.

    Face Facts Body Scrub
    Dove’s Restoring Care Bath Salts

This bath product is made by a well known bath and body care brand that we all know and have probably used at some point. These salts are made from sea salts, fragranced in coconut and cacao, so this will be quite a comforting, relaxing experience with a beautiful scent. This is the cheapest I’ve ever seen these salts, which is £2.49. The closest price has been £3.49 and that’s when they’ve been on special offer, so a great buy!

    Dove’s Bath Salts

So there are 10 beauty products I’ve recently spotted in Home Bargains, for the face and body, all under £3.00 each! Have you seen any of these and bought them?

  • Fun & Fruity Primark Bath, Shower & Body Products

Depending on which Primark I visit, sometimes I struggle to see products in their beauty section. As a store, Primark can get very busy which means less space to look at items but also it can get messy quite quickly. It must have been a decent day for eyeing up products when I recently visited my local store. I wanted see what they had bath, shower and body product wise. So what did I find?

Bath, shower and body products in Primark
    Whipped Shower Foam

I found Primark’s Whipped Shower Foam in three different fragrances: Sweet Candy Gummies, Juicy Watermelon and Watermelon Cooler. The shape these come in and being a shower foam resembles the brand Sundae. But these are much more colourful in look, playful, eye catching and cheaper! 250ml for £3.50.

    Whipped shower foams
    Jelly Shower Gel

I only saw one fragrance available, which was Raspberry Syrup. Interesting and different shaped bottle than usual shower gels on the market, which is always good to see. 300ml for £3.50.

    Jelly shower gel
    Meltin Moisturiser

Again, I could only find this in one fragrance which is raspberry syrup. Good to now that there’s a matching body moisturiser to go along with the shower gel. A brightly pink coloured bottle with matching label to the shower gel. 300ml for £3.50.

    Body lotion
    Soak Sorbet

In raspberry syrup fragrance, I really liked how the bottle of this is shaped. It’s almost like a laundry detergent type packaging. Fun to look at and easy to pour. The only issue I have with this product is it would have been nice if this came in a bigger size e.g 500ml, rather than 300ml. Bath soaks/bubble baths tend to come in a slightly bigger size than their shower gel counterparts. But this is the same price as the rest of the range which is £3.50.

    Bath bubbles
    What do I think?

This is a great range to have ready for summer. The packaging is colourful, fun in shape with very sweet and fruity fragrances available. All affordably priced with decent sizes. It’s a shame there wasn’t more fragrances available in each product, but I suspect that was the stock at the time. These won’t appeal to everyone. Definitely geared towards a younger market and those who like a particular type of fragrance. Would I buy any of these myself? Good question. Fragrances for me would be a yes but I don’t know if these products would leave my skin feeling normal or dry it out. I’m not sure, but who knows, I might give a product or two a try.

  • What Products Did I Buy Last Week?

Last week was a very BUSY week for me. A big birthday for one of my kids, work, usual life stuff. Not to mention the month of May and June are very spendy months which I can’t really get away from. So last week I tried to keep my general spending down to a minimum, especially when it comes to personal care items. I literally bought what I needed and that was it! So what products did I buy? And how much did each item cost?

    Products I Bought Last Week
    Face Facts Ceramide Foaming Cleanser

My current budget cleanser I’ve been using, which is Aldi’s Lacura Moisturising Wash, was running very low. Rather than going into the supermarket to buy it and ‘accidently’ buy other stuff £20-£30 later, I bought this instead. I’ve used a Face Facts Ceramide Cleanser before, but not this particular one. It’s gentle and fragrance free which is a must for my skin right now. The price for this at £2.99 for 400ml was the best price I’ve seem on the high street or online, so I grabbed it!

    Face Facts Foaming Cleanser
    Biovene’s Pimple Patches

I bought these for the first time about 2 weeks ago for my daughter, and she asked me to buy these again. As a teenager and I suffered from the occasional spot, I just dealt with it as we all did. This generation now have various pimple/spot patches in different shapes, sizes and colours that can be used to minimise the look and feel of these invaders. 24 patches in total is included and they come in 3 different sizes, which is very useful. Transparent, so although obvious not as obvious as other patches, and very easy to use. 69p.

    Biovene Pimple Patches
    Simple’s Pure Soap 2 Bars

I easily buy these every 2 weeks because both myself and my daughter use them mostly in the bath, but also in the shower. I’ve noticed around spring time the skin on my body can be easily irritated, so avoiding products on my body that contain colour or fragrance is a must. My daughter was a sufferer of eczema, so its out of habit now to stick with products that are gentle on the skin and products her skin is used to. Cost? 89p.

    Simple Pure Soap
VT Direct’s Turmeric Joint Complex Capsules

As much as getting older has its benefits, it has its downsides too. My body isn’t the same as what it was when I was a teen or in my 20’s. I find my body takes longer to recover from general wear and tear. Aches and pains manifest from no where. I take these tablets to help with my joints because they need all the help they can get! I recently ran out and needed to restock. There’s information to suggest that turmeric can help with inflammation of the joints and stiffness. Also this can be good for the skin, help with digestion and other possible health benefits. This cost £2.79 for 60 capsules taken twice a day.

Vit Direct Turmeric Joint Complex Capsules

What was the grand total of these 4 products I bought? £7.36. All from Home Bargains. Which isn’t too bad at all. Besides the pimple patches, the other products should last between 2 weeks to 4 weeks which is great when on a budget.
