  • The Festive Candy Cane Bubble Bar From LUSH

There is nothing nicer than getting hold of bath and body pampering products that are festive in look, style and fragrance. As per usual, high street store LUSH have rolled out their seasonal products ready for customers to lap up, enjoy and give as gifts. One product brought out for Christmas is their Candy Cane Bubble Bar. This retails for £5.00 each.

Candy Cane Bubble Bar By LUSH
    What does it look like?

Like a candy cane! Candy cane shaped with stripes of red and white (now pink because this has been boxed with other items). Chunky in look and feel, raised and slightly rounded on the front of it while the back is totally flat.

    Fragrance

This has a soft sweetie like scent to it but with a minty freshness. It’s pleasant, not too minty so doesn’t have the traditional coldness to it. This would appeal to most people fragrance wise.

    How to use

While holding the Candy Cane Bubble Bar, place it under warm running water and when finished put to one side to dry out ready to use again.

    In use

I placed this under warm running water and as soon as the two met, the bubble bar created bubbles and colour. The bubbles came thick and fast and were white and fluffy. While the bath water turned into a pretty shade of pink. Using this again for a future bath wasn’t what I wanted so I crumbled up the bubble bar under the running water. The bubbles increased and the pink colour of the water intensified. The bath itself looked very inviting, full of bubbles and colour. And the fragrance was there, although subtle but noticeable.

The water itself was very soft and nourishing on my skin. Candy Cane Bubble Bar felt very moisturising both in and out of the bath. My skin afterwards wasn’t dried out at all or irritated. Overall I really enjoyed using this bath treat, I just wish I was less sleepy to truly appreciate it!

The shape and fragrance of Candy Cane Bubble Bar is fun and festive. The fact this can be used multiple times makes this better value although £5.00 for a bubble bar isn’t actually that bad of a price. With this being quite moisturising on the skin it was a winner too. Definitely recommended, perfect stocking filler for a bath loving person.

  • The Festive Snow Fairy Wand By LUSH is Back!

When most people think of the store/brand LUSH, there is one fragrance and range of products that is incredibly popular….SNOW FAIRY! It’s a fragrance I originally was introduced to by using products inspired by this scent not by the official range itself e.g wax melts. But I’ve now experienced a few actual Snow Fairy products from LUSH, including their Snow Fairy Wand. This costs £8.50.

    Snow Fairy Wand
    Why did I buy this?

It’s something a little bit different from a traditional bath bomb or bubble bar so it caught my interest. It’s quirky and I thought I would enjoy using this.

    What is Snow Fairy Wand?

Snow Fairy Wand is a bubble bar but on a stick. With it being on a stick it can be used for more than one bath, and can actually be used to blow bubbles through the middle section of it.

    How does it look?

Snow Fairy Wand is a five pointed star shape. Quite thick and chunky in look with a circular hole through the middle. Its pink in colour with a stick going through the bottom of it.

    Fragrance

This smells just as good as the other items from the Snow Fairy range because it’s identical in scent. Sweet, slightly candy floss like with a hint of berries underneath. Perfect for those who love their fragrances on the sweet side.

    In the bath

I popped this under warm running water, and as soon at the water hit Snow Fairy Wand it immediately produced bubbles. Not only were the bubbles coming thick and fast but the water itself slowly went from clear to being pink in colour. The fragrance was there as well, not massively strong but enough to give a comforting and soothing fragrance experience. AND…I could blow bubbles from this! The whole in the centre, when blown into it, created sizeable bubbles which was fun.

I enjoyed being in this bath. The bubbles were soft and airy and lasted a lot longer than I thought they would and once out this didn’t dry my skin out at all. It also didn’t irritate my skin, which is an ongoing issue of mine. After using this, the wand was a little smaller because the water dissolved some of this, but not by much. So this should easily provide 2 if not 3 more baths in the future.

This is a MUST for any Snow Fairy fan! It’s different, it’s fun, smells great and creates a really good bath. And, you can get multiple uses from this which makes the initial cost less expensive. Great gift idea for a bath lover or a pampering treat for yourself. Limited edition so grab it while you can!

  • May Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

May finally was a good month for me. Why? The constant running and blocked nose thanks to hay fever slowly left the building and my senses finally returned to their normal glory. It means I’ve been able to use lots of products that I could actually SMELL and appreciate and I could finally review. So what products did I use in the month of May?

Snow Fairy Bath Bomb from LUSH

This was the first I’ve ever used this bath bomb and I can understand what all the fuss has been about over the years! Snow Fairy Bath Bomb smells amazing, looks super pretty, colours the bath in a lovely shade of pink and is surprisingly very moisturising! Definitely a winner for me!

Dirty Work’s Bahama Balm-A Coconut Body Balm

Given to me by a friend, I was hoping Dirty Works Bahama Balm-A Coconut Body Balm would be a tropical hit of moisture. But I found this to be too light weight for my skin although it smelt pretty nice. Not for me, but passed to my teenage son so it doesn’t go to waste.

Selfless by Hyram’s Centella & Green Tea Gel Cleanser

A purchase I resisted for many weeks but finally caved in. Selfless by Hyram’s Centella & Green Tea Gel Cleanser is a really good, non fragranced and easy to use cleanser. It’s gentle on the skin but effective on removing dirt and sun cream. And this was brilliantly priced so much I could afford to buy a few for future use.

Yankee Candle’s Lemon Lavender Fragrance Spheres

For £1.99 this makes a Yankee Candle product a good buy. But my own personal experience made me think this wasn’t money well spent. This smelt nice but the strength just wasn’t there. I’ve heard and read people have found these to be very good, so maybe I chose the wrong fragrances. But this is a no from me and I won’t buy another one unfortunately.

Glow’s Crime Scene Investigators April Wax Subscription Box

I’ve fallen in love with all the subscription boxes I’ve received from Glow. They are brimmed with products which makes great value, imaginatively themed and fantastic quality. Crime Scene Investigators April Wax Subscription Box (which I won in a competition) was no exception! Crafted with care with a mix of unusual and fabulous scents, I loved every piece in this collection.

Smooch Vixen By So…? Eau de Parfum

I’m a great believer good fragrances don’t need to be expensive. Smooch Vixen By So…? Eau de Parfum is a beautifully scented fragrance housed in a very cute bottle. This wasn’t expensive and currently on their website for under £5.00 for 30ml. Great for all ages and as I’ve discovered the perfect fragrance to be nicked by a pre-teen!

Smooch by So…? Vixen Eau de Parfum

So that is my May round up done and dusted! Which one was my favourite? That’s a hard question to answer. But this month I enjoyed more products than not enjoying. Let’s see what June has in store, can’t wait!

  • The Iconic Snow Fairy Bath Bomb From LUSH

Who hasn’t heard of the fragrance Snow Fairy? It’s one of those scents that has inspired some of the fragrances of cleaning, home fragrance and bath and body products. If you are a fan of Snow Fairy, you can get your hands on this scent nearly anywhere. But when I first heard of this fragrance, this was because the store LUSH every year releases products using this scent including their Snow Fairy Bath Bomb. I bought this during their Boxing Day Sale earlier this year as part of a collection.

Snow Fairy Bath Bomb by LUSH
    Why did I use this?

Is it wrong that I’ve never used a LUSH product from their Snow Fairy range? Well I haven’t, up until using this. I wanted to see why people go crazy over this and whether it was worth all the fuss.

    What does it look like?

A large, round, chalky textured bath bomb with two separate ‘looks’ on each side of it. One side is pink with a white snowflake shape sat over it. The other side is white with a blue snowflake shape. Gently dusted with an iridescent fine glitter/pigment giving it a delicate shimmer. This looks so pretty and is generously sized too.

    Fragrance

Snow Fairy is quite sweetie like in scent. To me it smells like a mix of fruity sweets with a hint of candyfloss.

    In the bath

I placed Snow Fairy Bath Bomb on top of an already run, warm bath. It fizzed, it span around like crazy and immediately started to bleed colours of pink and a little blue. It took no time for the water to go completely pink while sat on the top was a small amount of foam. The bath bomb took awhile to dissolve and did leave some fragrance in the bathroom, although could have been stronger. Would I call this bath bomb art? Not quite, but it was still an inviting looking bath!

What I was surprised about was this was actually quite a moisturising bath bomb. I could feel the water hugging on the more drier areas of my body and my skin felt soft too. Overall I enjoyed being in this bath. Very relaxing, and my skin out of the bath wasn’t stripped of moisture and didn’t irritate my already irritable skin.

    Recommended?

I really liked Snow Fairy Bath Bomb. It was beautiful in appearance, great fragrance, good size and created an enjoyable looking and feeling bath. There’s no doubt this is a good quality bath product and one I would happily buy, use again or gift to someone. So this get’s a thumbs up from me and I am officially a Snow Fairy Fan! Christmas 2023 here I come!
