  • Better Than LUSH? Glow’s White Hot Chocolate Foaming Bath Rocks

Sometimes it can take time to find good quality and budget friendly bath bombs and fizzers. We all know of a certain shop that sells them, but at a cost. Finding more affordable bath products can be trail and error. I’ve found myself using different bath products from a business called Glow over the last few years. Some were gifted, lots bought, including White Hot Chocolate Foaming Bath Rocks. I purchased this towards the end of last year. So what were they like?

Glow’s White Hot Chocolate Foaming Bath Rocks
    What are bath rocks?

Bath rocks are basically chunky squared small bath bombs. You can use one in the bath or a few at a time. The choice is yours!

    Packaging

These bath rocks come in a lined paper sachet. The type of packaging I expect to see some expensive, organic tea or coffee to be housed in. So not the standard high street way to present and store bath rocks/bombs, but I like it!

    How do these look?

I received 5 bath rocks in my sachet. Roughly cubed (well, technically more rectangular), about 2 cms in width, depth and height and white and soft yellow in colour. From far away these look like posh marshmallows, but they have the typical bath bomb chalkiness and texture to them you would expect.

    Fragrance

These bath rocks smell like a mix of caramel, vanilla, white chocolate and milk. The scent of these is absolutely stunning, and I’ve never smelt anything like this from this type of bath product…EVER!

    In the bath

I popped two of these bath cubes in an already run bath. Immediately they created foam and fizzed a little, and the fragrance was there straight away. The bath cubes took a long time to disappear, not the immediate in the water 5 seconds then gone! They turned the water pale yellow in colour. After the initial fizz and slight foam, there were no bubbles, just coloured water.

The best part of this bath for me was the fragrance. Incredibly comforting, the perfect strength. This made my bath relaxing, enjoyable and I really liked using these. Despite having slightly sensitive skin at the moment, these caused no issues. They also didn’t dry out my skin either.

    Recommended?

Purely for the fragrance of Glow’s White Hot Chocolate Foaming Bath Rocks YES, BUY! If like me you love scents that are within the bakery family, vanilla, biscuit…you know the types of scents, you will love how these smell! The bath it created I enjoyed. I’m wondering if a more pretty bath would have been made if I used all of the cubes into the water. I’m not sure, but either way, I would be happy to buy these again and try out other versions. Yes, these come in different fragrances, including Aqua, Twilight Opium and Candy Cane. Cost? Only £4.00, for a quality bath product in different scents. Interested? Check these out on the website here to order.

  • Is The Wizard Bath Bomb From LUSH Wickedly Good?

As a person who enjoys a daily bath, I also love a good bath bomb. I’m also a fan of the film Wicked. Marrying the two together literally is my idea of heaven. So to say I was very happy to receive the limited edition The Wizard bath bomb from LUSH this Mother’s Day from my daughter is an understatement. Did I enjoy this bath treat or did it leave me disappointed?

The Wizard Bath Bomb by LUSH
    The look

This is a very striking bath bomb. Round-ish in shape, reasonably weighty and what I would call a standard size for a bath bomb. And that’s where the comparisons between this and a normal bath bomb stops. The Wizard bath bomb is a rich, shiny, deep gold colour, almost gold leaf in appearance. On one side is a slightly sinister looking face formed into the bath bomb. On the back is the words WICKED and LUSH engraved into it.

    Fragrance

Citrusy, lightly floral, earthy, almost plant like in scent. Not the usual fragrance I like but somehow it’s very appealing. It’s not a masculine or feminine scent, and would appeal to quite a few people.

    In the bath

I popped this on top of an already run bath and it immediately moved around in the water. It fizzed and foamed and started to bleed the colour green. It didn’t take too long to see that the gold on the bath bomb was just the outer layer as it came off in the bath, and the bath bomb now was just green in colour. This bath bomb literally swirled around for such a long time in the bath it lasted a good number of minutes. No residue was left (except a layer of gold dust on the bottom of the bath). But what was left was a foam free, emerald green coloured bath that would have made any Wicked lover happy.

The fragrance was there and the perfect strength. Not too strong to make it heady, but strong enough to be noticeable. This, and the bath itself, I found relaxing and enjoyable. The Wizard didn’t dry or irritate my skin. And no major clean up in the bath afterwards either!

    Recommended?

This bath bomb look wise is brilliant. Eye catching and very different. The fragrance is nice and won’t be offense to most people. But the best bit about it was the colour it turned the bath water into. Perfectly themed, enjoyable to use and would definitely recommend to any bath bomb loving Wicked fan! Unfortunately, this is a limited edition bath bomb and currently not available online, but worth checking instore for stock.

  • 59p Bath Cubes From Dirty Works in Home Bargains

In these times where everything is so expensive, it’s always nice to be able to buy something which isn’t a necessity, but a treat, and a cheap one too! Most bath lovers will enjoy using various products at bath time to help them unwind and relax. So Dirty Works Cube Tropicana Fizzy Bath Cubes might appeal to these people. I bought this from Home Bargains for only 59p! But was it 59p well spent?

Dirty Works Cube Tropicana Fizzy Bath Cubes
    What are fizzy bath cubes?

This is just another name for bath fizzers. The reason its called ‘cubes’ is because you will be throwing cubes of Cube Tropicana in the bath! It SHOULD provide some form of fragrance and fizz in the bath while it dissolves.

    Packaging

Dirty Works Cube Tropicana Fizzy Bath Cubes comes in a rectangular cardboard box. Brightly coloured, very appealing with an open window at the front, so you can see the bath cubes inside.

How do these bath cubes look?

The bath cubes come in a chunky rectangular bar which is segmented off like a bar of chocolate. To use, you snap off the amount of cubes you want to throw into the bath. The bar itself is purple and green in colour, which matches the colouring of it’s packaging perfectly. On the back, the Dirty Works logo is embossed into it. The texture of this looks and feels like most bath fizzers or bath bombs which is hard and chalky.

    Fragrance

These bath cubes are supposed to have a berry like fragrance to them. What I got was definitely fruity, more berry than anything else, and a little powdery. But also a smell of chalkiness you get with some bath fizzers. The fragrance itself was pleasant. Not the best fragrance I’ve ever smelt from a bath product, or the strongest, but nice enough.

    In the bath

I used two cubes of Dirty Works Cube Tropicana Fizzy Bath Cubes. I popped them in the bath and they immediately fizzed, while slowly turning the water from clear to a soft mint colour. The bath cubes took awhile to disappear, but did and left no residue. No foam or bubbles was created, just coloured water was left behind. Fragrance wise it was incredibly faint. I just about got a slight whiff of the scent of these bath cubes but nothing that stood out.

Being in the bath, it was ok. It just felt as if I was sitting in coloured water. Nothing particularly moisturising, comforting or pampering about this bath. But on a positive note it didn’t irritate or dry out my skin during or after. So overall not a bad bathing experience but not the best.

    Recommended?

This needed to be more fragrant. It would have improved this product so much if this smelt better and stronger. The colour it left the bath was nice but that’s it. Besides fizzing and colour that’s all these bath cubes did. So it’s not something I would repurchase for myself. But for the price, the packaging and the amount of bath cubes you get it’s hard to complain (well, not for me it isn’t!). If you just want a cheap bath fizzer to throw in the bath or give as a gift to a bath bomb lover (not expert), then buy it, it’s only 59p! If, like me, you want more, give this a miss.
