  • Wicked: For Good x LUSH Lion Bath Bomb

As a bath lover, I enjoy using different types of bath products. It could be a simple bath soak, salts or bubble bars. Anything that helps me to enjoy my moments just laying there, relaxing and shutting out the world. Considering how much time I spend in the bath, I’m not surprised my daughter bought me a bath bomb for my birthday. Not just any bath bomb, but the Lion bath bomb from Wicked: For Good x LUSH range. So what is it like?

Wicked: For Good x LUSH Lion Bath Bomb
    The look

This is a beautiful looking bath bomb. The shape is of a lion’s head. Basic facial features almost carved out on the front of it. Raised lines going down the sides giving the appearance of a mane. The colour of Lion is yellow, but dusted with glitter making it sparkle. But more so over the mane section as it has a more copper, denser glitter/pigment running down the sides. This is a good size as it covers the majority of the palm of my hand.

    Fragrance

Lion Bath Bomb has a light, zesty, citrus scent to it. Not too sweet but effervescent and energising, but done in a soft way. Very appealing, with the scent being one most people would like.

    Price

£5.50 for 120g of bath bomb. Anyone that has purchased bath bombs, or products in general from LUSH, will know prices aren’t exactly cheap. For me, this would be a considered purchase as a treat or present for someone, but not an everyday buy.

    In the bath

Lion Bath Bomb fizzed, turned and swam around the bath tub as I placed it on top of the water. It immediately released a stream of yellow which made the water literally glow, with a small amount of foam added. It also left a tiny amount of glitter visible on the top of the water (and then on the bottom of the bath tub).

The bath bomb didn’t disappear straight away. It took a good number of minutes for it to disintegrate fully. Fragrance wise I was expecting the smell to come alive once it hit the water. I got the hint of fizzy citrus but it never got strong or developed. Very faint and barely there.

On the skin this was surprisingly moisturising. I could feel it comforting on the driest parts of my body which were my hands and feet. Overall it was pleasant on the skin and provided a decent bath.

Despite the fact there was a light dusting of glitter/pigment on the bottom of the bath tub and the water was yellow in colour, clean up was a breeze! No marks or stains left and the bath was cleaned out quickly and easily.

    Recommended?

This was a nice gift from my daughter. Thoughtful and appreciated. It’s a great looking bath bomb, good size, provided a decent bath without drying out my skin but lacked a punchy fragrance. If the fragrance was there I would recommend it whole heartedly. Without it? Buy if you’re a fan of the franchise and bath bombs, it’s still worth trying out. But it’s not one I would buy myself because I want the whole package of looks, bath and fragrance. I’ve tried it once, I don’t feel I want or need to repeat the experience again.

If unlike me you like a delicate fragranced bath product and this bath bomb appeals to you, at the time of writing this post it’s available online (not sure about in store). But it is limited edition, so grab sooner rather than later!

  • What’s In My LUSH Stash? Using Snow Dragon Bath Bomb

Why do so many of us love a bath? We don’t have them just to clean our bodies but we use them as a form of relaxation. You can lie there and scroll through your phone, drink a glass of wine or even read a book. Whatever you choose to do, what do you put into the bath to add to this experience? I love to use lots of different things including bath bombs. I recently decided to use LUSH’s Snow Dragon Bath Bomb I bought in their Boxing Day Sale. This originally was £3.50 and then went down to £1.75.

    LUSH’s Snow Dragon Bath Bomb
    Why did I use this?

One thing LUSH do perfectly is create bath bombs that visually are very appealing, including this one. It just took my fancy one evening so in the bath it went!

    How does it look?

Imagine a dragon laying flat on it’s belly with it’s tail curved round it’s body, almost in a sleeping position. This is how this bath bomb is shaped. The details are there, it’s easy to see what it is and the fact it’s blue in colour makes it very striking. The addition of crystal like pieces on the top of this bath bomb makes it look even more special.

    Fragrance

Snow Dragon Bath Bomb has a slight citrusy scent to it. It’s slightly sweet but fresh and zingy. This is one of those fragrances most people would like and enjoy because it’s not too specific and unusual in scent.

    In the bath

I put this in an already filled bath and it sank straight to the bottom straight away. It started to fizz a little and release colour and it came up to the surface of the water. I was hoping there would be some form of bath art going on, some movement, hidden colour. No, none of that. Snow Dragon Bath Bomb turned the clear water into a pale blue shade, fizzed a little, no foam and disappeared. It was pleasant enough to look at but it didn’t bowl me over.

The fragrance was there while I was in the bath and lasted quite a while after. There was still that citrusy element to it but it smelt more chalky once in the water.

In the bath my experience was fine and reasonably relaxing. I didn’t feel it was a particularly great bath with Snow Dragon Bath Bomb in it but it wasn’t bad. No negative reactions on my skin but nothing positive either.

    Would I buy this again?

For the price I paid, how it looks and the bath it created was ok, I would but for a friend. I wouldn’t repeat purchase this because it didn’t stand out enough to go in for another buy. But for friends who like bath bombs and baths in general, I think what I paid was good and even full price a more affordable bath bomb from LUSH. So this was decent, but not exceptional.

  • Lush’s Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb

LUSH. I don’t think there are many people that have never heard of this store. They sell a wide range of bath and body products, but probably are best known for their bath bombs. I don’t buy from them regularly despite being a massive fan of living in the bath. These days there is such a wide variety of bath products and brands out there this isn’t my go-to if I’m honest. But I had an urge to go into the store last week. I caved and decided to treat myself to a Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb which cost £3.50.

    Lush’s Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb
    Why did I buy this?

It looked cute, smelt great and is one of the more affordable bath bombs available from LUSH. If money was no object, I could go crazy in the store, but I wasn’t going to do that because this woman is trying to be on a budget!

    What does this look like?

Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb is shaped as a bear which is laying down on its stomach. It’s simple in shape and off white in colour. But on the top of its back, there are lavender pieces imbedded into it. This makes a very plain looking bath bomb look just that little bit more special.

    Fragrance

I don’t mind lavender, but I hate it in its pure, traditional scent. It can be strong and old fashioned. Mixed with the right elements though it can be nice. And nice this is. This bath bomb smells of lavender but it’s more sweet and less herbal/aromatherapy like. It still has a relaxation feel to it but it’s softer and more pretty in scent. I adore it!

    In the bath

This was placed on an already warm, run bath. As soon as it hit the water it fizzed and hissed. Rather than the water turning into a different colour, it became cloudy almost milk bath like. The lavender pieces floated around in the bath as the bath bomb got smaller and smaller and eventually disappeared. There was no bath art, no explosion of colour. When Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb disappeared, it left behind what looked like a bath soak. No bubbles, no colour, no foam. And I still couldn’t wait to dive into this!

The fragrance from this was incredible! It was so soothing, relaxing and strong enough for me to be able to smell this from start to finish and I loved it! It was the perfect strength and the ideal scent to experience if you’re looking to unwind.

I enjoyed this bath so much. I was sad to get out of it. It may not have been filled with colour and foam, but it was gentle enough on my skin, provided beautiful fragrance and totally relaxed me from head to toe. I also thought the lavender pieces were just the right amount. They gave decoration to the bath bomb and also the scent of lavender. There was no massive clean-up in the bathtub, and I didn’t feel overwhelmed with bits in the bath.

    Recommended?

YES! If I’m honest I didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I did but I did. It’s not a traditional bath bomb as I’ve already mentioned. But it doesn’t make it any less special. It’s easy on the eye, has a fabulous scent and gave me one of the best chilled out baths I’ve had in a long time. Total winner and I WIL be getting a few more of these! Grab yours in store or online here for a relaxing treat for yourself or for someone else.

  • Bubble Up Keeping It Cosy Bath Bar

I don’t care whether its freezing outside or if its so hot the world is melting, I will always love and have my baths. Can’t help myself! I put it down to old age. While I’m young enough to get out of them unaided I’m going to continue to get into them! This is why my bath products are so important because I want to enjoy my bathing experiences as much as possible. So it would have been rude of me not to pick up Bubble Up Keeping It Cosy Bath Bar from Asda during a shopping trip a few months ago, at a cost of £1.50 ( was on sale normally £3.00 ).

Bubble Up Keeping It Cosy Bath Bar

Why did I buy this? Sometimes I’m a bit of a snob! I will look at a product on a shelf, look at the price and assume whether it will be good or not. This I liked the look of it, packaging and colouring but for the price and the fact I never heard of the brand before, I wasn’t sure about the quality of it. Worst case scenario I thought I would hate it never to be used again. Best case scenario I actually like it. So in the shopping basket it went and crossed my fingers!

What’s a bath bar? I think this is probably a bubble bar with a different name. If you think of how a bath bomb performs, this will be of that type of product but contain more nourishing ingredients and creates foam. And of course, its shaped like a bar rather than a ball!

Appearance. Rectangular in shape, 4 inches in length, 2 inches in height and 1 inch deep. So overall a really good size! The texture looks quite chalky and although flat on all sides not totally smooth. Its made up of coloured stripes of burnt orange and a terracotta red which is simple but quite striking.

Scent. Not the strongest scent I’ve ever smelt. Taking this out of its packaging then the cling wrap, I got a little ginger. When I say ginger I don’t mean the punchy, warming ginger scent you think of. More a lightly perfumed version of ginger with a slight, sweet, citrus twist to it. Nice enough to sniff and quite different compared to other bath products I’ve used before in regards to its scent.

In the bath. With most products like this, I dopped this under the warm running water in my bath. Immediately when it hit the water it created colour and bubbles. Colour first, turning the bath water from clear to orange. Then came the bubbles. Started off being a few, with a small amount having an orange coating on them. But then more and more came, to the point the bath was full of bubbles! And what lay underneath was a sea of bright yet burnt orange tinted water.

On the skin in the bath. This was a delight! Without reading the packaging this clearly is a product that contained some form of moisture giving ingredients because I could feel it. I felt a slip in the water, I felt a slip on my skin and I could feel it with the bits of this that was left at the bottom of the bath. What was nice about this is it felt very comfortable and moisturising, but not greasy or oily. This, I normally I love. But sometimes you don’t want or need that, especially when you have bubbles in the bath too.

Out of the bath. Now this was interesting…I assumed that my body would feel like there was something on it but it didn’t. It felt and looked super clean, matt and not coated in anything. Skin wasn’t dry as in squeaky or uncomfortable. It felt more prepped and ready to go.

Recommended? I think I may have found a little gem with this! I really love it so its a yes from me. I would definitely recommend this if you see it on your travels. Its a great size and looks very appealing. The amount of bubbles and colour created was insane and my body loved this! What an enjoyable evening bath I had with this which I would happily repreat again and again and again! I think I got a bargain at £1.50 but even at full price ( £3.00 ) its an affordable luxury! And I cannot wait to try other versions and fragrances out in the future.

Want this bar in your bath? As mentioned you can get this from Asda but depending on store in regards to availability. If you were doing an online grocery shop with them, lucky for you it’s available online here as well.
