  • How Good Is Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist?

I am NOT that person that needs anymore body mists. I have PLENTY. BUT occasionally, like a beacon, a body mist will call out to me, I cave, and I buy! It could be the packaging, the price, but most of the time the fragrance description is what draws me in. And this is why I bought Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist from ASDA. But is this any good?

I think there’s alot of body mists on the market that are ‘inspired’ by a certain well known brand and this body mist is one of them. This fragrance comes in a clear but tinted purple plastic spray topped bottle and finished off with a white lid. It’s not the most stylish looking body mist I’ve ever seen, or the best copy of THAT particular brand. But, it still caught my eye!

    Fragrance

When I saw the words ‘Vanilla Orchid’ I had to stop and have a cheeky sniff, which I did. After smelling it I threw it straight into my basket. It has that sweet, creamy vanilla scent to it mixed in with light florals. This combination does give it a slightly exotic feel to it, it’s not heavy and it’s a stunner!

    Strength & longevity

Strength starts off as a medium and lessens. But what I will say is it doesn’t totally disappear as I still get a hint of this at the end of the day, although it’s faint. So longevity not the best.

    Price & size

This costs £2.48 for 100ml. Compared to similar products on the market it’s fair and still affordable. Size wise I wouldn’t want a body mist to be any smaller as there wouldn’t be much point. It will have a weaker formulation compared to an actual perfume, so this size means you can be generous with application.

    Recommended?

YES! As a vanilla lover I love this! The mix between this and floral makes this smell pretty, feminine and for me it’s that type of scent I will smell it, inhale and smile. Which is what you want from a fragrance. You want to smell nice but you want to feel good wearing it and I feel good wearing this. Could it last longer and be stronger? Of course it could. But that’s what the extra spraying action is for! Despite this I would happily repurchase Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist.

  • Who Stole My Limited Edition Halloween Pumpkin Spice Body Mist?

One word? My daughter! I bought Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween body mists in the fragrances of Fruity Sour Apple Mist and Pumpkin Spice. Only ONE I have to use because my teenage daughter stole the other one! I’m not surprised. She saw it, smelt it, said how great it smelt and said it was hers! And it’s been in her school bag ever since. So what makes Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Pumpkin Spice Body Mist so temptingly good it gets stolen?

    Packaging

100ml of fragrance comes in a small but perfect formed plastic bottle. Tinted orange, which runs with the pumpkin theme perfectly. Cute pumpkin inspired label on it which makes this body mist look fun. This is the ideal size and shape of body mist to throw into a jacket pocket in work and clearly ok to live in my daughter’s school bag!

    Fragrance

This does have that typical pumpkin spice scent to it that most of us will recognise. But what comes through more than anything is the warming spicy notes. This gives off a ginger, cinnamon. mixed spice sort of smell, which is very comforting and in keeping with this time of year.

    Strength & longevity

When I first used this (yes, I actually have got the chance to use it!) it had a medium strength to it. This type of scent rarely is a subtle one. But what I would say is the strength goes down along with the longevity quite quickly. I didn’t find this lasted as long or as strong as Sour Apple Body Mist which surprised me. Bare in mind I only apply fragrance onto clothes rather than skin. So how this would perform on skin could be different. But I did expect and hoped would it perform better.

    Price?

£3.49 but regularly on some form of promotion. At time of writing this post its on a buy one get one free deal. Sometimes it can be half price, which works out the same cost individually if you grab the multi deal.

Despite the fact this wasn’t strong or long lasting enough for me, I actually would recommend it! It’s affordable enough to keep reapplying when needed and small enough to carry, so using isn’t an issue. It smells great, not too sickly and heady as some products scented in pumpkin spice can be. Nicely packaged, and a joy to use. This clearly gets the vote of a 14 year old, so would appeal to younger body mists users and the older ones too.

  • Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Sour Apple Body Mist

It’s always great to find a fragrance product which is a bit quirky, especially when it’s affordable. And I found this in one of my latest purchases from Superdrug in their Fruity range. Sour Apple Body Mist is a limited edition fragrance for Halloween. So how good, or bad, is it?

    Packaging

It comes in a very simple but practical plastic spray top bottle. I love the fact the plastic is tinted lime green and the label on it is fun, eye catching and matches the scent name perfectly.

    Fragrance

This is sweet, fizzy, apple scented but in a sweetie sort of way. This isn’t a delicate, soft, sophisticated scent. Opening up a bag of sugar coated sour apple flavoured sweets is literally how this smell, and I love it!

    Strength & longevity

Strength wise this starts off as a medium. It’s not a shy scent, but I do find myself spraying A LOT of this on myself. Why? Because I love how it smells! It’s a body mist. So it won’t have the same strength or longevity as an actual fragrance, so it does fade quite quickly. But it doesn’t disappear fully. So longevity isn’t amazing although not bad, but performs as I expected.

    Price

Usually this, and other body mists in the Fruity range, retail for £3.49 each. When I purchased this it was on a half price promotion when using Superdrug’s loyalty card so I paid only £1.79 (size 100ml). At full price, considering this is limited edition and very unusual scent, the cost is fair. But for half price? A bargain!

If, like me, you love your fragrances on the sweeter side, this is a must! It smells amazing, it’s different and did I mention it’s a great one to layer with? Hint…vanilla! Although it doesn’t maintain it’s strength and longevity as much as I would like, that’s sorted by just spraying it more and regularly! I’ve been very generous using this and there’s still loads of it left so still good value.

If you want this, remember it’s limited so won’t be on the shelves or online forever!

  • Not For Me? Impulse’s Wide Awake Sapphire Fragrance Mist

I can’t help but zoom in on bargains, especially if they’re fragrance related. Months ago I popped into my local ASDA to find some of their fragrance mists were massively reduced, including Impulse’s Wide Awake Body Fragrance Mist. Usual rrp price? Around £4.50-5. ASDA price? 70p! So was this 70p body mist a good buy or disappointing?

Not For Me? Impulse’s Wide Awake Sapphire Fragrance Mist
    What’s the mist-ic collection?

Wide Awake Sapphire Fragrance Mist is part of a group of fragrances under the mist-ic collection. All of these are inspiration from precious stones in regards to the mood they evoke and how they smell.

    Packaging

This fragrance mist comes in a typical plastic spray topped bottle which is lidded. Clear, with the labelling giving a modern interpretation of a sapphire. I actually like how this is presented. It’s very clean, simple, modern and very different in look to other Impulse fragrances on the market.

    Fragrance

This is a very fresh scented fragrance. It’s more herbal based and earthy, which comes through first. But it’s not strong. Although there is supposed to be some citrus element in this from grapefruit and eucalyptus, I didn’t really get these coming through. They may have just added to the clean aspect of this mist, but the individual scents I didn’t detect. Overall, it’s very unusual, very unisex, and quite nice. But won’t appeal to everyone.

    Strength & longevity

I found this to be quite a light scent, which isn’t a bad thing especially during summer and you don’t want or need anything too heavy. But for me, I needed this to be a little more stronger and noticeable. I found longevity quite poor. Since the mist is quite light anyway, imagine it getting less and less in strength? Literally disappeared! This is one of those fragrances I would need to reapply regularly to get the hit of fragrance I want.

    Recommended?

Would I buy this again? Not this version no. Lovely scent, very different and great for summer but just not strong enough for me. Considering I’ve seen this being sold for £5.00 in some places on the high street, I would be pretty annoyed at how subtle this was for the price. But for 70p I’m not complaining, although for 70p I still wouldn’t buy it again. Just not strong enough for me, but ideal for those who want something subtle, earthy and relaxing.
