  • Women’s Fragrance Gifts For Valentine’s Day from Revolution Beauty

Love it or hate it, every year there is a day called Valentine’s Day. It’s a day where people will purchase cards, teddy bears, chocolates, alcohol and many other things to give as gifts to their significant other. Like any occasion, you can spend as much or as little as you want. But if you’re looking for fragrance ideas for the lady in your life that won’t break the bank, I’m going to point you into the direction of Revolution Beauty.

    Why chose Revolution Beauty?

Revolution Beauty is a one stop shop for skincare, make-up, bath, body and fragrance products. It’s a good site to visit if you are looking for anything in these areas and they are in physical stores too, such as Superdrug. And the thing I love about their site is the fact they regularly have sales, which makes products super affordable. So there’s plenty of opportunities to grab bargains for any occasion.

What type of fragrance products do they have?

Revolution Beauty sell body mists, eau de toilette’s, eau de parfum’s and even men’s fragrances too. For women, their main form of fragrance available is eau de toilette’s. What I like about their fragrances is you can buy them singular and full sized, in a duo with a body lotion or purse sized.

    How are the priced?

Revolution Beauty’s products I would never deem to be expensive, and this is the same for their fragrances. Purse sprays (10ml) are £4.00, body mists between £6.00 and £8.00 (236ml). Individual fragrances (100ml) are £12.00 and fragrance and body lotion gift sets are the same price at £12.00.

    Sales?

There’s quite a few fragrance items on sale at the time of writing this post. I Heart Revolution Coconut Crush Body Mist is down from £8.00 to £4.00. Both Revolution Love Eau De Toilette and Makeup Revolution Ultimate Lights Eau De Toilette are down from £12.00 to £5.00. Plus there is Makeup Revolution Timeless Eau De Toilette & Body Lotion Gift Set and Makeup Revolution Passion Eau De Toilette & Body Lotion Gift Set down from £12.00 to £6.00. BARGAINS!

Revolution Beauty’s Creative Eau de Toilette
    Recommended?

Revolution Beauty as a brand in my opinion is aimed more at a younger demographic. The collaborations they do with particular brands, characters and people scream this to me. But it doesn’t mean older people can’t enjoy these products too, right? I would recommend heading towards their fragrances for gift ideas because there’s a wide selection of fragrances in different forms. Prices are affordable and even better when they are on sale. And there’s still time to get a Valentine’s Day gift delivered so get looking!

  • July’s Round Up. What Products Did I Use?

Anyone else found July to be a very busy and draining month? End of the school year (in the UK), start of the Summer holidays (we’re bored and hungry…have you heard that yet parents?). A heatwave that crippled most of us and just living general day to day life has been exhausting! So a mix of the good, the bad and the ugly, is what most of us have or are experiencing that’s for sure! I could say the same for the products I’ve used in the month of July. Which ones will go in the bin or be repurchased again because they were amazing? Here is a recap of what I’ve been using in this crazy month.

    July’s Products
    Primark’s PS Elderflower Shower Steamer

Sometimes you want a shower but would love to enjoy it as you would a bath. That’s what’s great about shower steamers, they are the shower alternative to a bath bomb. I wasn’t too sure how Primark’s PS Elderflower Shower Steamer would perform and I have to say not very well. No real scent, not enjoyable to use and I ended up throwing half of it down the toilet. I won’t be buying this again!

    Boots Ingredients Vitamin C Serum

If you’re thinking of adding the ingredient of Vitamin C into your skincare routine but don’t want to spend a fortune, I would suggest having a look at Boots Ingredients Vitamin C Serum. It’s affordable, sinks into the skin quickly and very lightweight. The whole Ingredients range is something to look at as a whole because it has such a wide variety of products in it, and regularly on a price promotion. So far I’ve bought this product twice!

    Simple’s Hydrating Eye Gel

Moisturising, slightly cooling and lightly textured, Simple’s Hydrating Eye Gel is a beautiful product! Great for those who just need their eyes to feel hydrated without feeling greasy and experience an instant cooling effect to help combat tiredness or hay fever. Perfect for people who have sensitive skin as it doesn’t contain fragrance or colouring.

    Designer Fragrances Body Sprays

Although I think these could be improved, Designer Fragrances Body Sprays are such a good purchase if you want a designer inspired fragrance at a budget busting price! These smell great and would be loved by people who are fans of the mighty but humble body mists.

Beauty Laundrette’s Radiate & Glow Sheet Mask

This was quite a surprise! Beauty Laundrette’s Radiate & Glow Sheet Mask available from Superdrug was an a joy to use. Jam packed full of serum/solution, great for those who need their skin to feel moisturised and plump. Cooling on the skin and would be even better coming out of the fridge when ready to use. I need to buy this again!

So there we go. Another month bites the dust and some great (and not so great!) products have been used and reviewed by me and shared to you, hopefully inspiring your next purchases when it comes to skincare, bath, body and fragrance.

    See you in August!x

  • Budget Friendly Designer Fragrances Body Mists

I love fragrances! Who doesn’t? Whether it’s fragrances for the home or the body I love anything that’s going to smell nice. What I don’t like is paying high prices for it, especially fragrances for the body. That’s why most of the time I will buy body mists or sprays. They’re affordable, easy to carry around with me and I don’t care if my mini me of a daughter uses them 24/7. So I couldn’t help but pick up 3 (yes 3!) Designer Fragrances Body Sprays from Home Bargains recently for 99p each.

    Designer Fragrances Body Sprays
    Why did I buy these?

It wasn’t hard to figure out when I saw these they were inspired by designer fragrance perfumes. I was actually on the look out for some body mists anyway for my daughter and thought these would be ideal. Perfect price, smelt nice (yes I had a cheeky sniff!) and something both myself and my daughter would use.

    Why do these look familiar?

Home Bargains sell air fresheners from this same brand and they are based on designer fragrances too. They’ve been very popular on social media posts I’ve spotted. So expect the same sort of thing but to fragrance yourself, not your home or your car!

    What did I get?

Black Poppy-vanilla and black coffee (possibly inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium?).

Daisee-floral including jasmine and wild berries (inspired by Marc Jacob’s Daisy).

Xalien-floral with amber and jasmine (inspired by Mugler’s Alien).

Black Poppy, Xalien & Daisee Body Sprays
    How do these smell?

Xalien is floral based. It’s feminine with woody notes, which gives it added depth. Quite a heavy, musky scent but not overpowering.

Daisee is the perfect Spring/Summer fragrance. Another floral based fragrance but this one is is quite uplifting and energising with the smallest fruitiness to it. It’s quite youthful, fun and perfect for day time use.

Black Poppy has a creamy, vanilla element to it giving it a sweetness and there’s floral thrown in stopping it from being too sweet.

All three of these fragrances are very different but equally smell gorgeous.

Do these smell like what they are inspired by?

Xalien and Daisee do. Although I’ve never owned the actual perfumes I know what they smell like and these body mists remind me a lot of them. Black Poppy versus Black Opium? No idea as I can’t recall smelling that designer fragrance.

    Strength & Longevity

When first applied, all of these body spray’s were medium in strength. I sprayed these directly onto my clothes and the scent was immediately obvious. But this strength disappeared quite quickly. It’s longevity wasn’t very long. These are the type of body sprays I find need to be heavily applied and often if you want to get that fragrance hit and enjoy it.

    Recommended?

Although I wish these were stronger and last longer, I actually WOULD recommend these! Why? They are what they are, cheap body mists NOT perfumes! They smell beautiful and would appeal to many people. Throw these in your bag, use them as often as you want without feeling the need to save them for best. Give them to your teens to enjoy, and not have the scent linger too strongly or too long on them. And if they lose them it’s no big deal. These are quick fix fragrances to use up nothing more nothing less.

So if you’re looking for a quick fragrance fix on a budget and happy to reapply regularly if needed, grab these! But don’t compare their quality to an actual perfume although scent wise these are very good.
