  • Reduced Home Fragrance Products In ASDA!

Coming to the end of one season and having another one just around the corner, means change. Stores have already started to add new product lines to their shelves and reduced the price of others. Great for customers who want a bargain and pay less for a product. So the month of August is an ideal time to keep your eyes peeled for special promotions and prices that will save you money. A recent trip to my local ASDA showed quite a few home fragrance products were on the shelves that were reduced. So what did I find?

    Yankee Candle Scent Plug Refills

Probably one of the most expensive plug refill products on the market is from Yankee Candle. So being able to get their plug in refills for a lower price than usual is great to see. I found Pink Sands and Midsummer’s Night set of 2 plug in refills both down from £7.00 to £4.98.

    City Break Small Candles

Very cute looking glass jar candle that would make a great gift idea for a keen traveller or look nice in a room in the house. Down from £4.00 to £1.98.

    Luxury Reed Diffusers

These reed diffusers were available in three fragrances: Smoked Amber, Wild Pear, and Parisian Violet. Smoked Amber is a scent mix of dark chocolate, vanilla, amber and pink pepper. This sounds and looks great for autumn and winter use. Wild Pear is a scent mixed with apples, pears, plum and elderflower. Parisian Violet is a combination of ylang ylang, roses and vanilla. All three fragrances sounded delicious, all packaged in a very stylish way and comes with a small plate to pop the diffuser on. Down from £10.00 to £4.97.

    Luxury Large Candles

Each candle comes in the same fragrance as the luxury reed diffusers. Great sizes, quite heavy glass and simple but stylish in design. Down from £10.00 to £4.97.

These were just a few of the home fragrance products I found in ASDA reduced, because there were more! What I liked about these items was the fragrances would be great to use in the more cooler seasons coming up, not just for summer. And all at affordable prices.

  • Crackle Wick Wax Melts For 79p From Home Bargains

There’s so many wax melts available on the high street, how does anyone choose which ones to buy? The most important thing for me is the fragrance, and is it something I would probably enjoy melting. But what will drag me in first is how they look or are packaged. Crackle Wick Wax Melts from Home Bargains is my most recent wax melt purchase. Each one is 79p and comes in a variety of different sets of fragrances. So what are they like?

    Crackle Wick Wax Melts
    Packaging

These wax melts come in a clear, plastic casing. Label on one side showing you the scents of the wax and the other is clear so you can see the wax. This type of packaging makes it easy to store wax melts, keep them in tact and safe.

    The wax itself

Crackle Wick Wax Melts come in three different fragrances. The wax comes in one 2 segmented wax melt snap bar for each fragrance with each duo coloured differently to reflect the fragrance. The colours match the label on the front too. All block colours, plain, no added sparkle or anything embedded into it.

    Fragrances

I bought two Crackle Wick Wax Melts. One contains Fresh Vanilla Pod, Rich Toffee and Sweet Biscuit (Coffee Shop). The other Soft Delights, Light Denim and Cosy Wool (Cosy Comforts). The trio including Fresh Vanilla Pod are definitely comforting, bakery like scents. Sweet, sugary, buttery, basically everything that you would think of when you see the fragrance names. The trio containing Soft Delights is the polar opposite. Fresh, clean, almost laundry like with a hint of floral. Both smell, from their casings, really good and what I would hope for from what their names are.

    First impressions?

So far so good. Affordably priced, nicely packaged and a decent amount of wax (88g in total in each). Having three different fragrances is a good idea, which you can mix up to create your own bespoke scent. Overall, my first impressions are I like these. But how they perform is the important part, so let’s see if they fully deliver!

  • Laundry Inspired Home of Honey Candle Co’s Unstoppables Wax Melt Collection

With a seasonal change comes a change in home fragrance scents. The type of fragrance used in my home isn’t dependant on the time of year. But many of us will switch our scent types when the weather changes. With the sun out and the temperature heating up, I’ve found myself using more fresher, cleaner scents like Home of Honey Candle Co’s Unstoppable Wax Melt Collection. Originally gifted, this collection has been keeping my wax warmer very busy lately. So what is in this collection?

    The wax

In this collection there are three wax melt snap bars. Each one is in a different fragrance and each coloured differently. One mint green, one pale pink and the other a soft lilac shade. On the back of each you can see they are covered in a liberal dusting of glitter, giving them an added sparkle.

    Fragrances

    The fragrances included are:

    • Dreams Unstoppables – fruity, floral, musky scent with a powdery clean smell to it.
    • Bliss Unstoppables – floral, slightly fruity with subtle woody notes blended through.
    • Spring Unstoppables – floral, berry fruity scent which is uplifting.
    Strength & longevity

These wax melt snap bars perform so well. The strength of these is just what you hope for from laundry inspired scents which is strong. One square of each of the fragrances in this collection packs a punch and fills whatever space it’s being melted in. Longevity is just as good. I’ve only been changing the wax because I want a different fragrance not because the scent has disappeared. Performance wise I have zero complaints!

    Recommended?

If you love your laundry scents (who doesn’t?), and you want to experience long lasting clean and fresh scents ,then you need this collection! 3 similar but different fragrances which smell beautiful, look great and nicely packaged. What more can you ask for?

How much is this collection? Only £8.50 for a total of 150g worth of wax. Even better, use the code KARINA30 for a generous 30% off your purchases here.

  • What My Kids Bought Me For Mother’s Day

Whether Mother’s Day is an occasion you celebrate or not, it’s one day in a year that many people buy gifts for their mum’s, grandmother’s and other female relatives in the family. Is it easy to buy for these special women in our lives? Sometimes it is. But the shops online and in stores are ready to throw everything and anything at the public to purchase anything mildly floral, pink in colour or have the word ‘MUM’ emblazed on it. My kids were sweet enough to buy me gifts this year. So what did my teens buy me, not including the obligatory chocolate and sweets?

The Wizard Bath Bomb from Lush

My daughter knows I love baths and we both love the film Wicked. She went into LUSH, found something shiny and Wicked connected and bought it (her words not mine). This is quite a weighty rounded bath bomb, which is striking thanks to it’s eye catching gold colour. The bath bomb has an image of the Wizard, from the film, almost carved into it. Slightly sinister in look but incredibly fun and different. Fragrance is quite earthy, a bit plant like and unusual but very nice.

    ASDA’s Flower Market Reed Diffuser

My son sneakily took a solo trip to our local ASDA and picked this up along with the candle counterpart. The box this comes in along with the diffuser bottle both have flower images on them, which makes it look incredibly pretty. Perfect for Mother’s Day gifting. Designed to last up to 8 weeks, I can’t wait to use this in my bedroom.

    ASDA’s Flower Market Scented Candle

This is in the same fragrance as the reed diffuser and comes in a large, glass jar with a wooden lid. Same labelling. The jar is clear but pink in colour and this is a whooping size (size/weight not on label but it’s massive). Unlike the reed diffuser I can get the smell of this by simply taking the lid of and its beautiful! It’s a sweet, feminine floral mixed in with a creamy citrus and it’s sooo good! Not an old fashioned or boring floral but a modern yet classic floral all at the same time.

I think my kids did very well with these gifts! Whatever they bought me I would have appreciated. But I can tell they both put some thought into what they bought and asked the important question of ‘will my mum like this?’, especially where the home fragrance products are concerned. AND they didn’t spend a small fortune too! Well done kids!
