  • New Skincare In Home Bargains!

If you love skincare, you will love seeing affordable and branded products in discount stores like Home Bargains. Skincare products vary in price, but those with a good eye will know a good deal when they see one. That’s why discount stores selling skincare is a popular way to buy these items. You never know what will land on a shelf and for how little. I visited my local Home Bargains store to see if I could spot anything new and budget friendly, and these are the skincare products I found:

    New skincare in Home Bargains!
Nivea’s Luminous Skin Glow Daily Liquid Exfoliant

Exfoliants containing granules are still on the market, but a more popular version is gentle acid based liquid exfoliants. Nivea’s Luminous Skin Glow Daily Liquid Exfoliant is that type of exfoliant which helps to improve skin texture and tone, reduce pores and leave skin looking and feeling fresher. This product can be used daily, and doesn’t need to be washed off. Simple and quick to use. £3.99 for 100ml.

Nivea’s Luminous Skin Glow Daily Liquid Exfoliant
    Pause & Glow Menopausal Skincare

Not a brand I’ve ever seen or heard of, except in Home Bargains, but some women may find these products interesting. I’ve spotted the Cooling Relief Serum Roller, which needs to be rolled onto the skin. It provides a cooling and soothing effect thanks to the rolling action, and containing aloe vera. Another product from this brand is their Soothing Eye Serum, to help smooth and lift the under eye area. Cooling Relief Serum Roller is £2.99 for 30ml, and the Soothing Eye Serum £1.99 for 15ml.

    Pause & Glow Menopausal Skincare
Pacifica’s Kale Dissolve Dark Spot Micro Patches

Containing 4 micro needling patches, these help to improve the look of dark spots and hyperpigmentation thanks to ingredients including tranexamic acid, niacinamide and glycolic acid. Apply to clean skin and can be worn overnight, but must be left on for a minimum of 6 hours to be effective. £1.49.

Pacifica’s Kale Dissolve Dark Spot Micro Patches
Dr Paw Paw’s Hydrating Facial Mist

This facial mist can be used in the morning and evening, and helps to freshen and hydrate the skin. Also, this mist is designed to help skin appear and feel smoother and look brighter with the help of hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. £1.99 for 100ml.

Dr Paw Paw’s Hydrating Facial Mist
Revolution Skincare London’s Sali Hughes Gel Quench Moisturiser

A light weight but highly hydrating facial moisturiser that can be used in the morning and evening. Perfect for those who don’t like heavy textures, and those who have oily to combination skin. Some of the ingredients in this moisturiser include niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, plant peptides and glycerin. £1.99 for 60ml.

Revolution Skincare London’s Sali Hughes Gel Quench Moisturiser

So, what do you think of these finds? Tempting? All of these are budget friendly and I like the fact they’re different types of skincare products doing different things. Anything I want to buy myself? The dark spot patches. These would be useful for me as I suffer from spots that lead to hyperpigmentation, so would be curious to see if these would work…so lets see?

  • 3 Body Products For Under £3.00 In Home Bargains!

Looking after the skin on our bodies is just as important as the skin on our faces. Thankfully, most of us don’t need a complicated 10 step body care routine. We wash our bodies, sometimes exfoliate and moisturise. Like skincare, body care products can be as simple or as luxurious as you like. But with body care products, many of us like to use this time to pamper ourselves. And thankfully, it doesn’t have to cost a fortune! Here are some affordable and budget friendly body care products found recently in my local Home Bargains:

Body Products Under £3.00 in Home Bargains!
Sor Bae Beauty’s Exfoliating Body Polishes

I love body scrubs and I love texture in body care products, so this immediately jumped out off the shelf! I found 2 different versions of this body polish (although there maybe more). Coco Colada Creme, which is a mix of coconut and pineapple fragrance. Also Watermelon Sugar, which you guessed it, is watermelon fragranced. Both of these are body scrubs which are sugar based with shea butter. This means they should exfoliate the skin, the sugar particles should dissolve so won’t be aggressive and the added shea butter should help to moisturise. £2.99 for 300g.

Sor Bae Beauty’s Exfoliating Body Polish
    Globetrotter’s Body Lotions

Whooping 500ml body lotions in various fragrances, including Mykonos (Vanilla Sea Breeze) and Dubai (Guava Granita & Amber Sunsets). Containing ingredients including shea butter, sunflower seed oil and glycerin, these body lotions are fun in theme and economical to use. £1.99 for 500ml.

    Globetrotter’s Body Lotion
    Face Facts Body Butters

These body butters have been in Home Bargains store on and off for months. They appear to sell well and come from quite a well known budget brand for skin and body care products. Containing sunflower seed oil and avocado oil, this should be a rich highly moisturising body product. £1.49 for 400ml.

    Face Facts Body Butter

So, for under £3.00 you can pick up a body scrub, body lotion or body butter and have change left over! Everyday, affordable body care products.

  • Women’s Fragrances Available In Primark

My local Primark, which is in the city centre of my town, can get busy and messy quickly! I love having a look around their beauty department, but sometimes it’s hard fighting your way through bodies and shelves that look like they’ve been ransacked. I’ve always found visiting early morning is the best and tidiest time. So I had a chance early morning last week to have a look at some of their women’s fragrances, because I haven’t looked at them for ages. So what did I find?

    Women’s Fragrances In Primark
    Neroli Breeze

This consists of mandarin, neroli and musk. From this combination I would expect something with a freshness but depth, and could be liked by both men and women. Nicely shaped blue bottle, very square and angular in look, and housed in an identical sea blue coloured box.

    Neroli Breeze Eau de Parfum
    Orchid Whispers

Bergamot, violet and patchouli are the notes in Orchid Whisper. I can imagine this is a floral scent but quite a heavy, deep one, possibly ideal for night time use. The bottle this comes in looked a little cheap to me with its large gold door knob like top with a square purple bottle. Comes in a simple purple coloured box.

    Orchid Whispers Eau de Parfum
    Forever

Now this looks fun! Shaped as a heart, this fragrance is made up of notes of jasmine, tuberose and tonka bean. Could this be a feminine, heady, seductive fragrance? Possibly with these notes in it!

    Forever Eau de Parfum
    Golden Girl

Containing notes of jasmine, rose, vanilla and musk, this comes across as a very feminine girly girl type fragrance. Very pretty, perfect for spring and summer and for everyday use. Packaging is simple, with a cut out on the front to see the bottle inside. I really like how this is presented. It suits the description of the fragrance perfectly.

    Golden Girl Eau de Parfum
    Capri Girl

Packaged in the same way as Golden Girl, but using different colour combinations (mainly soft blue). This fragrance contains notes of lemon, jasmine, amber and vanilla. Again, another feminine, pretty sounding fragrance, but this feels like it will be fresher and quite light and subtle.

    Capri Girl Eau de Parfum
    Formulation, size & price

Each fragrance mentioned is of an eau de parfum formulation, which means it has a certain percentage of fragrance oils in it e.g stronger than an eau de toilette. Each is 30ml in size (except Forever which is 50ml) and all cost £6.00 each.

    Thoughts?

These represent a good mix of fragrances but perfect for the up and coming seasons. There were more available but I didn’t get the chance to look at them all, as a comic book shop and two teens were calling for my attention! But most were nicely packaged, ok sizes (anything under 50ml for me turns into travel size) and decent prices. I did manage to smell one and it smelt really really good. But my thought is, how good are they when it comes to longevity and strength? Maybe I need to find out…

  • The 75p Bargain Body Scrub In Boots!

Sales. There’s something very satisfying and smug worthy about picking up items in a sale. Saving money is something no one should be ashamed of, especially in our current economy. Boots in the UK over the last few weeks have had lots of products in store reduced to clearance prices, including Treacle Moon’s Peace In A Flower Body Scrub. How much did it cost and what is it like?

Treacle Moon’s Peace In A Flower Body Scrub
    Usual Price vs Clearance Price

I couldn’t see the usual price in Boots for this product. But direct from Treacle Moon this body scrub is £3.00. Not expensive at all. BUT on clearance in Boots this cost me only 75p!

    Packaging

This body scrub comes in a clear plastic flip top tube. You can see the product inside and the labelling is sweet, very in keeping with the name and fragrance of this product. On a practical level, easy to use and easy to store in any bathroom.

    Look, consistency & texture

Treacle Moon’s Peace In A Flower Body Scrub is soft pink in colour with visible tiny brown specks throughout it. It’s squeezable, and comes out fluid but it’s not loose. The best way I can describe how thick it is is it’s similar to a body lotion.

    Fragrance

Feminine, floral, very pretty with a slight powdery smell to it. Floral can be quite old fashioned if not done well but this would appeal to a variety of different ages.

    On the body

Applied on damp skin, I used a generous amount of this to make sure I was covered from neck to feet. There’s enough scrub pieces in this to feel it on the skin, and for it to do the work its designed to do. Also the ‘bits’ weren’t too big where it could be rough and damage the skin. Very easy to apply and wash off, leaving the skin feeling lightly moisturised, and feeling soft and smooth.

For me, the fragrance was the best bit, it’s beautiful. It made applying this scrub a pleasure not a chore. The fragrance is the perfect spring fragrance because of the floral aspect it has.

    Recommended?

This is a good scrub! It does what it’s supposed to do to the body, its easy and enjoyable to use and the fragrance is perfect. I’ve used other Treacle Moon scrubs and I’ve found that at least one was more moisturising than this one. So if I could change anything about this product I would like it to be more moisturising during use and after. But for 75p it’s a no-brainer! If you see it at this price or less buy it! Even if you’re not a fan of floral fragrances, this would make part of a great gift for someone e.g Mother’s Day, birthdays etc.
