  • Sunday Rain’s Mango & Coconut Foaming Bubble Bar

I’m a bath addict. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Doesn’t matter what the season is, the temperature, time of day, I WILL have a daily bath! After having a couple of days away with my children during this Summer, I had a meltdown when I realised my room only had a shower. Lesson learnt, book a room with a bath is a must! So as you can imagine bath products are definitely a love of mine and I like to try out different types and different brands. I’ve just spent some one and one time with Sunday Rain’s Mango & Coconut Foaming Bubble Bar. I bought this from ASOS some time ago for less than £5.00.

    Why did buy use this?

I’ve used Sleep Easy Bath Bomb from this brand before and loved it. But bubble bars are one of my favourite bath products and I really wanted to see what this was like from Sunday Rain. The picture online looked appealing, mango and coconut as possible fragrances sounded nice and the price point was affordable.

    What’s a Bubble Bar?

Most bubble bars are similar to a bath bomb. But they tend to create foam and bubbles and are more moisturising on the skin because of the ingredients it contains e.g various oils and/or butters.

    Packaging

Very simple. The bubble bar is shrink wrapped, and then housed in a plastic sleeve. Over this a cardboard sleeve which is placed around it and is similar colouring to the bubble bar itself. Nicely presented with the bubble bar well protected too.

    How does it look?

Sunday Rain’s Mango & Coconut Foaming Bubble Bar literally is a segmented bar made up of 8 pieces which you can snap off to use. It looks slightly chalky and solid like a bath bomb and is a beautiful shade of peach.

    Fragrance

I’m not getting any coconut scent from this bubble bar, but there is a mango-esq hint to it. I wouldn’t call it a true mango scent but more the type of smell you get from products wanting to smell like mango, if that makes sense? It’s nice enough, not too sweet but not particularly wowing.

    In the bath

I used two segments of the bubble bar in the bath. I thought this would be quite solid but it actually crumbled up under warm running water like a dream. Not chalky at all in texture and quite soft. As soon as it was hit by the water it created lots of bubbles. Soft, airy, white, fluffy, a lot more than what I was expecting. The water itself stayed clear and wasn’t coloured, but the bubbles still made this a very inviting bath. There was no bubble bar pieces left on the bottom of the bath so totally dissolved.

Fragrance wise? I didn’t get much to be honest. I got a little hint of mango but it smelt a touch on the synthetic side but was so light it didn’t make much of a difference.

Being in this bath it was pleasant, relaxing, no more or no less than other bath products I’ve used. What I did notice was touching the bubbles in between my fingers, they felt very moisturising. This made me rub them all over my body and it felt good! My skin after this bath wasn’t dried out and very normal in feel, but would have liked more indulgence and moisturising from this bubble bar.

    Recommended?

Sunday Rain’s Foaming Mango & Coconut Foaming Bubble Bar definitely delivered on a few things. It foamed, and created a good amount of bubbles in the bath. There is zero need to use the whole thing so someone could get a maximum of 4 baths out of this easily. Quick and easy to crumble up and presented nicely. What would have made this better would have been more fragrance and more moisturising, then this would have been perfection! For what it is and does I would still recommend it if available at the right price. This is available on Amazon for £12.99 which is ridiculous! It’s worth buying if under the £5.00/4.00 mark but availability is hard to come by online, so maybe difficult to purchase cheaper.

  • The Body Shop’s Mango Body Butter, Worth Buying?

The skin is the body’s largest organ. Do we look after it as much as we should do? Probably not. I try to keep the skin on my body in the best condition possible but I’m not perfect. But what I do pretty well is keeping it moisturised. There are many different types of body moisturisers out there on the market, and one of my favourites is a body butter. My collection of body butters isn’t exactly small, and includes an exceptionally fruity one in the fragrance of Mango from The Body Shop. Given as a gift last year by a friend, this retails for £6.00 for 50ml or £18.00 for 200ml.

    The Body Shop’s Mango Butter
Why did I start using this?

My body care routine at the moment consists of using body lotions, which are working well. But with a body butter they are richer in texture. I find these to be a lot more pampering and luxurious than a lotion, which is what I want right. Fragrance wise I love anything fruity, so I grabbed this wanting luxury and mouth watering fragrance to experience daily.

Mango Body Butter, what does it do?

Ideal for dry skin. This is supposed to deliver up to 48hours of moisturisation thanks to it’s rich formulation and ingredients. And also to provide an exotic fragrance to the skin.

    Fragrance

Rather than this smelling like mango, my first impression of this scent is this is what tropical flavoured sweets smell like. Think fruity flavoured chews you can buy labelled tropical and this is the fragrance with this butter. It’s sweet, sweetie like, tropical yes but not true to the actual fruit. Absolutely nothing wrong with how this is scented, it’s gorgeous and I like it! It’s right up my fragrance street. But it’s more of an interpretation than a realistic fragrance in my opinion of mango.

    On the skin

I’ve probably said this many times but I’m not shy with the amount of body product I use on myself. But with body butters they are richer in texture, so using this for the first time I took the less is more approach. What I found was a thick, smooth and very buttery body product that melted into the skin effortlessly. There wasn’t a need to rub it in like I was washing my car. I applied this quickly, it sank into the skin well and wasn’t greasy at all. Of course there was that rich feel to it, but my skin didn’t feel or look oily. What it did look and feel like was moisturised.

The fragrance was there on the skin even hours later but so much more faintly compared to when this was first applied. But skin remained well conditioned, healthy in look and super soft. Was this moisturising for up to 48hrs? I hate it when companies use these types of terms as it’s not realistic. But let’s just say I didn’t need to apply it again until after my evening bath the same day, which is good enough for me.

    Recommended?

People either love or hate body butters and I can understand why. You want your skin to be protected and enveloped in moisture but you don’t want to be cocooned in grease, which some body butters can make the skin feel like. Not this one. It’s incredibly light weight considering what it is, rubs into the skin like a dream and I think the great quality of this shines through. So if you like the idea of a body butter but not a heavy, thick one, this is for you. Highly recommended!

The Body Shop have loads of different fragranced butters if this version isn’t your thing. But if you like fruity scents you will adore this! The 50ml size is a great introduction to what possibly could be one of their best body products from the brand. Keeping close to my love of getting good deals, body butters from The Body Shop are regularly on sale, so keep your eyes open and your wallet close to buy.

  • Druid and The Witch’s Mango Fandango Bubble Scoop

If I could choose one bath product above any other, I think it might have to be a bubble scoop. I’ve only been using these for the last few years but I have to say I absolutely adore them! So was it any surprise I added Mango Fandango Bubble Scoop to my order from Druid and the Witch, at the end of last year? If memory serves correct it cost around £2.00-2.20.

Druid and the Witch’s Mango Fandango Bubble Scoop

Why did I order this? A bubble scoop for me is an alternative to something like a bath bomb. These work well on my skin and I have to say they rarely fail me.

What’s a bubble scoop? A bubble scoop normally provides colour, fragrance and foam in a bath. More importantly, because they tend to contain ingredients such as shea or cocoa butter, they really moisturise the skin while in the bath. So for me, this truly is a treat for the body.

The look. What I love about bubble scoops is how they look. Almost edible, which obviously they aren’t! Shaped as if this was a scoop of ice cream, doomed on the top although not totally smooth but flat on the bottom. Soft mint green in colour and soft orange running through it.

Texture. Unlike bath bombs or fizzers, this doesn’t have a chalky feel or residue to it. It does feel quite solid but looks like it could crumble.

Scent. There’s definitely a tropical mango scent to this, and to me a little hit of citrus. Not too sweet, not too strong and very pleasant.

In the bath. I threw this under warm running water, and although it remained whole for while, it lightly created colour and foam. The colour was faint in the forms of soft yellow and pale green. As the bath got bigger and bigger, so did the foam. This little bubble scoop created ALOT of foam which was just what I hoped to see.

Fragrance wise it was there during bath time but not strong. The bath itself was enjoyable, relaxing and the bubbles/foam lasted a decent amount of time. By the time I got out ( I didn’t count but a minimum of 30 minutes later ), there was a small amount left but not much. And the water itself was green tinted.

On the skin. No irritations! I’ve found recently my skin has been a bit awkward, but this didn’t irritate it at all and it didn’t dry it out. Some bubble scoops can leave a layer of oil or moisture on the skin because of it’s ingredients, but not this one. What I would say is it left my skin feeling and looking normal, so I followed my usual body routine with a lotion.

Recommended? I am such fan of bubble scoops and so far never had a bad one, so this is recommended! What I loved about this is the foam and amount it created, the water definitely felt more softer because of it’s ingredients and it was so enjoyable. It’s good for people who love bath bombs or fizzers but they want bubbles, and don’t get them with their chosen bath treat. But more importantly, if they find what they’ve been using has been drying out their skin and they need something more hydrating, this is ideal.

Checking the website there is no current listing for the bubble scoops. But they have been a regular item so keep checking! Everything is handmade, stock levels and what’s available will change. But there are plenty of bath and shower treats available in the meantime, so go visit their Etsy store to check them out! Or visit them on Facebook to keep a track of their latest creations.
