  • Designer Fragrance Dupe Melissa Jane Daisy Wax Melts

Wax melts. You either love them or love them! What is there NOT to love about a piece of wax that can come in a multitude of fragrances and make a room smell amazing? What seems crazy, and ingenious, is many wax melts now are inspired scent wise by famous fragrances. Cleaning products, bath and body items and of course designer fragrances are now all available. Think of any scent and chances are you can find it in wax. I was delighted to receive for my birthday some designer fragrance inspired wax melts from a wax vendor called Melissa Jane in the scent of Daisy.

    Melissa Jane Daisy Wax Melts
    How do these look?

These came as 10 small off white wax melts shaped as different types of flowers. I’m no gardener, but one shape ( and there are 3 in total ) resemble tulips. Super cute, simple and easy on the eye.

    In Melt

I wasn’t too sure how many melts to use but opted for three. Due to their size they melted super quickly and left a creamy coloured wax pool.

    Fragrance

Now this is the tricky bit. I assume this is inspired by a well known fragrance but I’ve never smelt this perfume in real life. So all I can describe is what this smells like not whether this is a good version of the fragrance or not. What I can say is this is beautiful. Its floral, with a hint of fruity sweetness to it ending with a slight musky tone. Very feminine and pretty in scent. Definitely smells like it’s a perfume to me and totally addictive!

    Strength & Longevity

Strength wise this is a medium to strong with 3 melts. What I love about this is it fragrances the room but doesn’t overdo itself. If it was super strong it could be very heady and overpowering. Longevity was excellent. This scent melted away over 4 days for at least 3 hours at a time and only then did I feel the scent needed changing. It gradually faded but in a natural way. It just became softer and lighter but still just as pleasant and enjoyable to smell.

These Daisy wax melts provide great fragrance. They are super cute and simple looking melts which were long lasting. So these get a thumbs up from me! I’ve never tried this vendor out before and thanks to a friend, I will try Melissa Jane out in the future!

  • When Unicorn Fly Wax Melt By Strawberry’s Wax Creations

As somebody who has a slight addiction to buying and use wax melts, it’s very hard to avoid new wax releases. My wax melt stash is pretty large, so to curb temptation I delve into my haul of wax I already have (and forgotten about). To keep my credit card safe and my home fragrant with a new scent, I’ve delved deep into my wax melt stash and pulled out When Unicorn Fly Wax Melt by Strawberry’s Wax Creations to use.

    Why did I buy this?

I bought this as a set from Strawberry’s Wax Creations (formally Strawberry Wax Melts) towards the end of 2019. This set consisted of different scented wax pieces which were all unicorn themed scent wise. I bought this set because anything connected with unicorn in scent tends to be quite sweet in fragrance which I love. The set costing £10.00 with 10 wax melts in 5 different scents I thought was great value so a totally winner!

    Strawberry Melts When Unicorn Fly
    Strawberry’s Wax Creations Scent Description

Loads of sweet, rich buttery top notes followed by fresh coconut and itty bitty hints of sweet berries with bottom notes of yummy, super sweet vanilla.

    How does this look?

This set of two wax melts came in mint and white colouring. Both differently shaped with both looking like they’ve been set in a mini fancy cake or jelly mould. Small golden butterflies sprinkled on the top of each to complete the look. Size wise these were roughly 1 inch and raised, so not completely flat.

    In Melt

This is quite a good sized wax shape so it took some time to fully melt. When it did it the now liquid wax became a deeper green colour.

    Fragrance

It took awhile to figure out how these wax melts smelt but they smell like strawberry pencils! Those highly addictive long pencil shaped sweets with white fondant running through the middle is how this is fragranced. Creamy, sweet, slightly strawberry confectionery type scent with definite hints of coconut. This is one of those scents that will have you wiping the drool from your mouth once you smell it because it’s delicious!

    Strength & Longevity

When Unicorn Fly Wax Melt is medium in strength. Fighting cooking smells in the kitchen means it had a decent punch to it. Longevity was great as well. I had this on for 3 days melting away at 4 hours a time. The scent was still there and I only changed the wax melt because I wanted a different fragrance.

Those who love their sweetie inspired scents you will love this as much as I do! Its sweetie and fruity like, totally yummy and an enjoyable scent to melt. Absolutely recommended and yet again great quality wax melts from Strawberry’s Wax Creations.

  • Gin & Tonic Soy Wax Melt Pot By Pretty Home Aromas

As a wax melt lover and user, I have my favourite fragrance families and scents I like to use regularly. But I also like to try new and unusual scented wax pieces as well. Pretty Home Aromas (formally Pretty Candles) is a wax melt vendor I’ve wanted to purchase from for awhile. It seemed the perfect opportunity to try them out when they had a 50% off sale towards the end of last year/beginning of this. The first Pretty Home Aromas wax melt pot that I melted was Gin & Tonic. This cost 60p (30g) down from £1.20.

Pretty Home Aromas Gin & Tonic Wax Pot
    Why did I buy this?

I LOVE gin! But how does this translate into fragrance and wax? This was too intriguing to miss out on and I needed to know what this was like scent wise.

    How does this look?

Gin & Tonic Wax Melt Pot comes in a small, clear, lidded pot. The wax itself looks so pretty in a simple way. It has a marble like look to it made up of mint green and white colours. Lovingly lavished with a healthy sprinkle of green coloured glitter on top.

    Pretty Home Aromas Scent Description

The sharp scent of gin blended with a zingy citrus tonic.

    In Melt

This melted evenly and quickly. And when it was totally molten it turned into a pool of glittery sea moss green coloured liquid. It took very little time for the fragrance to be released as the scent was clearly there when cold before it warmed through.

    Fragrance

Gin & Tonic is a fresh and clean scent. Zesty in more of a lime way rather than lemon. Sharp but not overpowering and quite energising. It’s so hard to describe this scent as its not a fruity inspired gin fragrance but more the traditional, simple but delicious gin served with tonic…and this literally is THAT smell!

    Strength & Longevity

I wasn’t too sure how strong this would be as I used half of this little pot, but goodness me! I put this on in the kitchen in the morning and by afternoon this had travelled to the living room. So strength is medium to strong. Longevity is excellent. This has been melting for 3 days for a good number of hours at a time and the scent is still there. I’ve only changed the wax because I wanted a change not because the fragrance had gone from this.

    Recommended?

What I love about Gin & Tonic Wax Melt Pot is its the total opposite to other gin inspired wax melts I’ve tried. The one’s I’ve melted before have been sweet and fruity , whereas this is zesty and clean. It’s one of those scents I think the majority of people would love because in an odd way its so neutral. A great one for the kitchen as it would help to cut through smells and a perfect melt during Spring and Summer. So this is definitely a winner!

  • Did You Know The Body Shop Sells Wax Melts?

Home fragrance. There is nothing nicer than filling your home with beautiful fragrances, especially during the colder months of Autumn and Winter. It gives a cosy and comforting feel in rooms which is important when you spend more time inside than outside. That’s one of the reasons I love to use wax melts during these seasons. Considering I thought I was a bit of a wax melt know it all, I was a bit shocked to discover that The Body Shop actually sold wax melts! How did I find this out? Through a friend that gave me The Body Shop’s Enchanted Forest Wax Melt. So what is it like?

    Enchanted Forest Wax Melt

Enchanted Forest Wax Melt is a special edition item. Possibly available just over this winter season. It’s a scent that The Body Shop describes as bringing ‘ The fresh forest scent indoors ‘.

    How does it look?

Enchanted Forest Wax Melt is a green circular disc shaped wax roughly 2 inches across and 0.5 inches in depth. It’s flat underneath, but on the top there’s a very festive Christmas tree shape embossed onto it, giving it a slight 3D feel. Housed in a protective plastic little holder and then shrink wrapped. This is 15g of wax.

    In Melt

I wasn’t too sure how much to use of this, but considering how many wax melts I’ve used over the years I trusted my judgement and popped in two thirds. It took a little time to melt in my kitchen but it released fragrance steadily.

    Fragrance

Enchanted Forest has a scent of pine in this. Earthy, leafy, plant like. But what makes this quite special is it has an sweetness to it as well. With that combined with the overall freshness this gives off, it makes this easy and enjoyable to smell. And, just in case you were wondering, it smells NOTHING like a pine scent toilet cleaner! If all Christmas inspired pine wax smelt like this I would buy it more often, because it’s beautiful!

    Strength & Longevity

Strength is medium. I could smell it clearly in the room it was melting in and it travelled into the room next to it. It also had to combat cooking smells, so it had to have some power to it. Longevity is good as well. I’ve had this on for over 12 hours over 2 days and it’s still going.

    Enchanted Forest Wax Melt

Yes! For this time of year and over Christmas, this is an ideal piece of wax to melt. It’s very seasonal and perfect when you want something fresh in scent. It looks great, smells great and currently on sale for £1.50 ( normal price £2.50 ). What is there not to love?
