  • My Favourite Body Care Products In 2023

A quick and easy way of making your skin look and feel good is in the form of a body moisturiser. Keeping the skin on the body hydrated gives it a smoother feel and a natural glisten. Not to mention you feel more comfortable in a moisturised body compared to a dry one. Throw on a good body scrub before the lotion/cream/oil stage gives even better results. No wonder I love body products so much! So what were my favourite body care products in 2023?

My Favourite Body Care Products In 2023
Glow’s Amber & Lavender Body Butter

I was lucky to be gifted Glow’s Amber & Lavender Body Butter. Angela from Glow wanted me to test this out as it was a new product at the time. What I found was this body butter was rich and solid in texture but melted into the skin like a dream. And the fragrance? Honestly? One of the best things I have ever smelt! Soothing, calming, fresh, a little musk, slightly sweet…stunning!

    Safa’s Skin Therapy Oil

An affordable (69p from Home Bargains), alternative to a traditional body moisturiser was Safa’s Skin Therapy Oil. Moisturising enough to use on it’s own or ideal to layer with other body products. This wasn’t heavy and too greasy, with an aromatherapy style fragrance to it. This was a good buy.

Glow’s Raspberry Candy Floss Body Butter

This body butter from Glow was just as good as the Amber & Lavender Body Butter version but different. Just as moisturising but the texture was a little different and more body butter like in consistency compared to Amber & Lavender Body Butter, which was a little more whipped. The fragrance of Raspberry Candy Floss Body Butter was mouth wateringly good and smelt as you would expect a candy flossed scented product to smell like!

    Glow’s Defence Moisturiser

Glow’s Defence Moisturiser was a brilliant product to use especially during the Summer. I didn’t always want to use heavy and greasy body creams, especially when my skin was feeling hot and irritated. This was light weight but had a slight slip to it, cooling on the skin with a fresh, minty fragrance.

Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub By LUSH

My first, and hopefully not my last, body scrub from LUSH (given to me by a friend). I have never used a scrub like this before. The colour was crazy (bright blue), the texture was almost jelly like and the fragrance was an earthy floral scent which was amazing. Plus it did a great job exfoliating my skin leaving it smooth and hydrated.

So these are my favourite body care products of 2023. I wonder what new products I will find to try out in 2024? Can’t wait!

  • My Favourite Bath Products Of 2023

When you’re as addicted to baths as I am, you will use ALOT of bath products in a year! What I love is there is so much variety in regards to the fragrance, consistency, shapes and even colours bath goodies can come in. So what were my favourite products I used in the bath in 2023?

My favourite bath products of 2023
Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar From LUSH

Bubble bars are a great alternative to bath bombs. Most can be broken up and used for more than one bath. Compared to bath bombs, bubble bars are more moisturising and many create foam. Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar From LUSH ticks all these boxes AND has a glorious, relaxing fragrance as well.

Bubble Up’s Blissed Out Berry Bath Melt Bar

Bubble Up’s Blissed Out Berry Bath Melt Bar could have been a little more fragrant. But what it lacked in scent it didn’t lack in size. Great size, multiple baths could be used from one bar, created bubbles and left my skin feeling silk smooth and soft.

Snow Fairy Bath Bomb From LUSH

As much as people have raved about the Snow Fairy range from LUSH, I was a little sceptical about their Snow Fairy Bath Bomb. It smelt and looked great, but how it would perform I wasn’t too sure about. But perform it did and it created a relaxing and enjoyable bath. It was surprisingly moisturising for a bath bomb, it didn’t irritate my skin and I loved using it.

Treacle Moon’s Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts

I’ve used Treacle Moon’s bath salts before and I was so happy to find them being stocked in Boots because I loved them. Treacle Moon’s Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts costs only £1.00, and when poured into the bath provides soft fluffy foam and fragrance.

Glow’s Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts

Bath salts can create a very therapeutic bath for not only the mind, but for the joints and skin too. But they can be very plain and give a basic bath. Glow’s Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts was a great product to help me unwind from top to toe. It also had a soft fragrance to it while creating lots and lots of foam.

All of these products were great to use, provided soothing and chilled out baths while keeping my skin in good condition. What more could I ask for?

  • My Favourite Skincare Products Of 2023

Every year I tell myself I won’t get sucked into buying more skincare and as usual I fail miserably! I love skincare, I enjoy trying new products and finding things that work well for my skin. But 2023 definitely was the year I relied more on budget friendly prices, price promotions and sales more than ever thanks to the cost of living. So what skincare products were my favourite in 2023?

My Favourite Skincare Products of 2023
    Face Facts Ceramide Gentle Cleanser

Face Facts Ceramide Gentle Cleanser was THAT product I would happily repurchase again and again if it stayed in stock in Home Bargains. Fragrance free, gentle but effective on the skin and easy to dispense thanks to it’s pump action packaging.

Face Facts Ceramide Hydrating Gentle Cleanser
Selfless by Hyram’s Centella & Green Tea Gel Cleanser

Another cleanser I enjoyed using was Selfless by Hyram’s Centella & Green Tea Gel Cleanser. I thought it was so good I must have bought at least 4 of them! I used this, my kids used this. Overall it was a very good cleanser that didn’t strip the skin and it gave my skin the best clean base to start my mornings and end my evenings.

Simple’s Illuminating Under- Eye Hydrogel Mask

When your under eye area needs a quick fix, under eye patches are a great product to use. Simple’s Illuminating Under Eye Hydrogel Mask are one of those eye products I re-purchased in 2023, used on myself and actually gave as gifts too. Easy to use, cooling, comfortable, a small but instant improvement on the under eye area and very affordable.

    Freeman’s Pre-Party Mask Duo

The best form of skincare bargain is that purchase which is cheap but works, and I found this when I bought Freeman’s Pre-Party Mask Duo. I never used this brand before. It was never on my radar until I spotted this product reduced in my local Tesco store to 67p! Once sachet of a facial skincare mask and one sachet of a moisturiser was included. This duo really impressed me because after use my skin felt and looked so good! Brilliant buy!

    CeraVe’s Resurfacing Retinol Serum

Sometimes if you have specific skincare concerns you have to pay a little more for a specialised product that targets that issue. CeraVe’s Resurfacing Retinol Serum was purchased because I was, and still am, suffering with hyperpigmentation. Its much better than what it was but I would love to see this improve even more. This is one of the things I’ve been using to help and it definitely has changed the look of my skin for the better.

    CeraVe’s Resurfacing Retinol Serum

So those are my favourite skincare products I used in 2023. Looking back on my choices and purchases, I didn’t go crazy buying lots of skincare with most of these being products I needed rather than wanted. Let’s hope 2024 is the same….

  • Glow’s Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar Day 22 to 25

I can honestly say, despite having many advent calendars over the years, Glow’s Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar has been the best! The best I have ever had. The mix of different products, the fragrances, the sizes, have all been phenomenal with no day and reveal disappointing me. What does disappoint me is that it has to end! And with that, I’m going to go through what Day 22 to 25 had to offer.

    Glow’s Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar
    Day 22 Bon Bon Perfume

Bon Bon Perfume is that kind of fragrance which smells as a fragrance should, expensive and fabulous in quality! Bon Bon is feminine, floral and fruity. I adore this and I’m currently hiding it from my 12 year old daughter before she steals it!

    Day 22 Bob Bon Perfume
Day 23 Muscle Pain Massage Oil

Containing eucalyptus, lavender and cannabis salvia oil, Muscle Pain Massage Oil is ideal for tired, achy bodies who need that extra TLC and anti inflammatory action thanks to the ingredients it contains.

Day 24 Christmas Market Wax Melt

A winning fragrance for all bakery fans! Christmas Market Wax Melt is filled with vanilla, sugar and warming and comforting spices. Ideal to melt and enjoy during colder and darker days while keeping comfortable and warm inside.

Day 24 Christmas Market Wax Melt
Day 25 Apple & Cinnamon Candle

Last but not least for the final day of the calendar is Apple & Cinnamon Candle. A generous medium sized candle which is simple and classy in appearance. The scent of this is fresh, crisp, sweet apple with a hint of sugar and winter friendly, spicy cinnamon. Beautiful!

Day 25 Apple & Cinnamon Candle

So that’s Glow’s Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar completed! I have loved every, single day of this calendar. The wax melts, the bath and body products, EVERYTHING! And do you know what the best bit is? Although the day’s have ended I still have so much product left that I can continue to enjoy this calendar at least for a good month if not more to come!
