  • Bath Time Pampering With Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar From LUSH

LUSH is well known for their bath, shower and body products. For some people these products are regular purchases, for others it’s an irregular one off treat. When they had their Boxing Day Sale last year, it was the perfect time for me to grab some half price goodies. I don’t buy from LUSH regularly. So this gave me the chance to buy things I wouldn’t normally at a great price. Not only did I grab bath bombs, I also purchased some bubble bath bars too, including Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar. I bought 3 (don’t judge!), with each one costing £2.00.

    LUSH Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar
    Why did I buy this?

I bought Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb previously and loved it! I enjoyed it so much I wanted the bubble bath bar equivalent. Bubble bath bar’s are one of my favourite bath products so I needed to add this to my collection.

    What’s a Bubble Bath Bar?

A Bubble Bath Bar gives you a similar bath as you would expect using a bubble/foam bath gel or cream. The only difference is this comes in a solid form rather than liquid. Break it up under warm running water and let the bubbles form and enjoy!

    How does this look?

Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar comes in a simple and basic cloud shape. It’s solid, flat (although slightly raised in parts giving it a handmade appearance) and quite chunky in it’s depth. This is coloured with various shades of pink, green, purple and orange. Very appealing and very sweet in look.

    Fragrance

Sweet, herbal lavender with a hint of vanilla. Absolutely gorgeous!

    In the bath

I snapped this in half and crumbled it under warm running water. It was easy to do and Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar now turned from a solid into a powder. The fragrance was released straight away and bubbles immediately were created. Not only was there lots of bubbles formed but the water in the bath turned into a light shade of pink/purple.

Being in this bath was relaxing. The bubbles were plentiful and lasted right till the end. I also felt the water was softening on my skin. I’m not too sure whether using the full bar would have made a difference fragrance wise, but I would loved it to have been stronger.

    Recommended?

I enjoyed using this product. It created lots of bubbles, coloured the water and was nicely scented. If the fragrance was turned up a notch this would have been the perfect bubble bar. But I still recommend this because it’s a good product and enjoyable to use. It’s also a regular bubble bath bar for sale, not just seasonal (although no longer discounted). Only available in it’s larger size at the moment of 200g for £7.00 here if you want to experience a member of the Sleepy family.

  • *NEW* Glow’s Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts

New releases. Don’t you just love them? I get excited when there are new product launches especially from brands I already like and shop with. My credit card not so much. Over the last couple of years I’ve been enjoying the fragrant wax and home fragrance products from UK wax vendor Glow. And now I’m getting the chance to enjoy their new bath and body products they’ve just released. I was gifted a selection of products to try out, including their Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts. These retail for £3.99 for 260g.

Glow’s Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts
    How does this look?

Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts is pale pink in colour and made up of the smallest grains. I can see bits of this glisten but it looks more powder like than crystal. It’s quite fine but still has a texture to it look wise.

    Fragrance

Pink Sugar makes me think of lots of pink flavoured sweets. Candyfloss, even marshmallows, possible berries such as strawberries and vanilla thrown in as well. A sweet lover’s dream and dribble worthy!

    In the bath

I’ve used this in two baths so far. Each time I’ve used about a quarter of this tub and once poured under running water it created foam, and lots of it! Not only was there foam but colour too. The bath water went from clear to a beautiful light shade of pink.

The fragrance was light but there. The strength was very comforting and the fragrance overall was enjoyable and very relaxing. Could the fragrance have been a little stronger? This is me here, a fragrance can always be stronger especially if I really like it! But I don’t think it would translate well being a punchy scent. It would be too heavy and not as nice and natural as it is now. So it’s actually the perfect level strength wise.

In the bath I really enjoyed these salts. The salts dissolved fully. I could feel the tiniest grains on the bottom of the bath but it was barely noticeable. The foam didn’t disappear after a few minutes. In fact, bubbles were still there right to the very end. The water was soft on the skin and the bath salts didn’t dry it out. In fact, there were a few irritated areas of skin on my back which seemed less irritated after using this.

    Recommended?

Glow’s Pink Sugar Foaming Bath Salts is a fabulous bath time product. It provides the best of both worlds when it comes to bath salts and a foaming bath gel/cream. This looks inviting, smells amazing, foams up beautifully and each pot should give 4 baths easily which provides excellent value. You won’t find something like this on the high street so 110% recommended!

This is available at the moment in various fragrances, including Pink Sugar, Peppermint & Eucalyptus, Dazzling, Snow Fairy and Creed. Want to order yours? Visit the website here and I dare you NOT to order!

  • An Alternative To A Bath Bomb, Miss Patisserie’s Frosting Bath Slab

Bath bombs. There are different types and styles of bath bombs on the market, but it doesn’t mean they are all made equal. I’ve used some fabulous quality ones, and also some pretty rubbish ones too. One bath product I’ve given my time, energy and bath to last week was Miss Patisserie’s Frosting Bath Slab. Bought online from ASOS, when it was on sale for £4.00.

    Miss Patisserie’s Frosting Bath Slab
    Why did I buy this?

I’ve used a bath slab from Miss Patisserie before and loved it! So when I saw this was on sale in a fragrance I hadn’t tried before I NEEDED to give this a go.

    What’s a Bath Slab?

A bath slab is no different to a bath bomb, except it’s shaped as a slab. A segmented rectangular flat block which can be broken up and placed into the bath.

    Packaging

Frosting Bath Slab comes in a pastel shaded rectangular cardboard box. There’s a large circular hole at the front which give you a peek at what the slab looks like. I like how this is presented. It makes it stand out, great for gift giving and just makes it look very appealing.

    How does this look?

This is a chunky, rectangular shaped block. It’s segmented like a bar of chocolate and there are 20 segments visible. On one side the bath slab has an almost drip effect on it colour wise. There’s a bright, pink, shimmering shade of colour coming over a section of white which then becomes baby blue in shade. The back is totally one block colour which is blue. Simple but eye catching.

This is a very thick looking and feeling bath slab. It’s 5 inches in length, over 2.5 inches in width and just over 1 inch in depth. It’s a whopper! Not heavy though but has a typical chalky bath bomb feel to it.

    Fragrance

I’m not 100% sure what this is supposed to smell like, but this just comes across quite sweetie like to me. I don’t think it’s very specific in scent but it’s nice.

    In the bath

I threw the whole slab into the bath but it broke in two before it reached the bath. Sat on top of the bath water it fizzed away slowly, releasing a blue colour. A little foam was formed, with both parts of the slab dancing happily around each other.

It took some time for it to dissolve. When it did, the once clear water became a sea of blue which was incredibly relaxing to get into. I enjoyed being in this bath. It felt like a bath soak at this point and was very easy to unwind. It also caused no issues to my skin which seems very easily irritated at the moment. What was also nice is getting a whiff of the fragrance while using this bath slab. It wasn’t strong, it wasn’t too subtle but it was there and I liked it!

    Recommended?

This is a good quality, great looking bath product that could easily be used in more than one bath if you don’t want to be greedy! Frosting Bath Slab has a lovely fragrance to it, turned the bath water into a gorgeous colour and it provided a really nice, chilled out bath. So why would I NOT recommend this?

At full price this is normally around the £7.50 mark. It’s available direct from Miss Patisserie and other online retailers. This will keep any bath bomb addict happy so definitely one to put on a to buy list.

  • Treacle Moon’s The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower & Bath Gel

Supermarkets, love them or hate them, are the one place most of us visit regularly. Not only do we make our food purchases from them, but we also pick up our everyday toiletries including bath and body products. A new item I added to my collection is Treacle Moon’s The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower and Bath Gel. I bought this from Tesco. Usually £1.95 but at the time of writing this post it was down to £1.65 (Clubcard promotion).

Treacle Moon’s The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower and Bath Gel
    Why did I buy this?

I’ve bought Treacle Moon products before and really enjoyed them, but I haven’t tried anything new from this brand for awhile. When I spotted The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower and Bath Gel it interested me. I gave it a sniff and thought it smelt so nice and totally different to other shower and bath products I already owned. And of course the price made this a winner too!

    Packaging

Nothing unusual as it comes in a plastic clear bottle. What I do like is the unicorn prints on it, which look like they are made from gingerbread. It looks fun, doesn’t look like a cheap bath/shower product at all and would look nice in any bathroom.

    The shower & bath gel

This is a similar colour to set honey or even custard. Consistency is no different to any other shower or bath gel as it’s thick but liquid and very shiny.

    Fragrance

This smells like a toned down spicy and warming ginger. And do you know what else I THINK I can smell? Cream soda! I know that sounds crazy but this is the best way I can describe how this smells, ginger meets cream soda. And it’s a beauty!

    In the bath

I gave a generous squirt of The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower and Bath Gel under warm running water and it quickly produced bubbles. Lots of them in fact! The water didn’t change colour but it was covered in light and fluffy white, airy bubbles which I couldn’t wait to get into. The fragrance was there, although subtle. Since it wasn’t strong it was actually very comforting and relaxing because it wasn’t heady. But me being me I would love this to be stronger.

This produced a great bath which I enjoyed. The bubbles lasted well, the fragrance was in the background which smelt beautiful and I spent so much time in the bath I nearly drowned! Skin felt fresh, clean and not dried out when I got out and once dried ready to start the next stage in my body care routine.

    Recommended?

Bath and shower gels aren’t ground breaking, we use them everyday. But I love this one! Why? The fragrance is different, not the typical scent you get on a supermarket shelf and that’s why I really like this. It produces a great amount of bubbles, the perfect 500ml size for family use in the shower and bath and it’s not expensive. So why would I NOT recommend this? The Treacle Moon range is available from Tesco, ASDA, Waitrose and direct from Treacle Moon themselves. But just a warning, this is limited edition. So grab it while you can if this sounds like something perfect for your bathroom.
