  • The Bath Bae’s Oh So Slushie Bath Cubes

If you love baths you will love bath bombs. Different fragrances, colours and designs are available which means your bath time treat can be varied from one bath to the next. Not all bath bombs come in the typical ball shape. The Bath Bae, who I found on Instagram, sell lots of different bath treats e.g bath dusts, rocks and cubes. Definitely NOT typical bath bombs! Which made me want to try out their products, including their Oh So Slushie Bath Cube. So what were they like?

The Bath Bae’s Oh So Slushie Bath Cubes
Why did I buy Oh So Slushie Bath Cubes?

I found the look and idea of bath cubes appealing. The scent from the description online sounded like something I would like and I thought I would enjoy using these cubes.

    What are bath cubes?

Just think of a bath bomb and what they are made of and designed to do, and instead of it being round its cubed! And lots of them! All small, cubed bath bombs that are thrown into the bath to enjoy.

    Packaging

200g of bath cubes come in a clear, pouch, so you can see the cubes in all their glory. Resealable, so they don’t need to be used all at once.

    How do these look?

Oh So Slushie Bath Cubes are similar in size to a dice. Beautiful mix of colours are in each of them, pink, blue, little bits of purple and white. They have a great hand made look to them as they aren’t identical in appearance but look inviting and fun!

    Fragrance

These smell AMAZING! They smell like an actual slushie drink. Sweet, strawberries, raspberry scented, cherries with a slight fizzy hit to it. This is how they smell.

    In the bath

Its recommended to use either half or the full packet of these bath cubes. I used a third. Used like a normal bath bomb, I threw a handful of cubes under warm running water. Each cube slowly became an individual mini bath bomb which fizzed about and released bright streams of colours. A little foam was made, and then the bath went from a party of mini bath bombs, to then turning into a purple coloured bath soak. The water felt very soothing, my mind felt very relaxed with no irritation just supple and hydrated skin.

    Good value?

The bath cubes cost £6.45, but when I bought these they had a 25% offer attached to them. A good quality bath bomb can easily cost up to £6.45 and the amount of product you get from this sachet is a maximum of 2 bath bombs so decent value.

    Recommended?

I loved these bath cubes! Scent was to die for, gorgeous bath was created and the bath cubes weren’t drying on my skin. These created a a relaxing and enjoyable bath which any bath lover would love!

Are these still available? Unfortunately not. Like many small businesses over the last few years The Bath Bae is no longer with us, but they really did hand make and sell some really great quality products.

  • Going Bananas For The Body Shop’s Banana Bath Blend

I’m always on the look out for new products, especially for the bath. When you love your baths as much as I do its easy to go through different fragrances and different forms of bath time treats. So when something comes up that is different and unusual, it will always grab my attention. I was given by a friend The Body Shop‘s Banana Bath Blend. I’ve never seen or heard of this before which meant I NEEDED to use it.

The Body Shop’s Banana Bath Blend
    What’s a Bath Blend?

Bath Blends harness the powers of fruit and vegetables. They combine vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to create a moisturising and nourishing bath product to provide a decadent and above average bubble bath.

    Packaging

250ml of bath blend comes in a screw top lidded clear bottle. You can see the bath blend in it, with the labelling complimenting the colour of the blend perfectly with its hues of green, orange, yellow and brown. Very earthy in appearance and strangely enough could easily be mistaken for a milk based drink because of how it looks and its contents. Very appealing!

    Fragrance

I was praying this wouldn’t smell artificial and fake and thank god it didn’t! Banana is an odd scent which could go horribly wrong as it’s not the easiest scent to create. This smelt to me of chopped up slightly ripened bananas. Drizzled with a touch of honey and a dash of cream thrown on top. It’s creamy, sweet but not sickly and has an almost vanilla like element to it. Truly beautiful, true to life and not for drinking!.

    Consistency

Its not a gel or a bath cream. It’s milky/creamy yellow in colour and has quite a thinnish consistency to it, but not too watery. If you have ever tried a bath milk I would say this is similar when poured out.

    In the bath

I didn’t need to use much of this. Under warm running water this lathered up like a dream and created ALOT of foam/bubbles. Underneath the foam the water was a very pale yellow colour. But it was the scent that got me. Exactly the same as what I smelt in the bottle, but mixed with warm water in a warm room it truly was beautiful. Not heavy, not too strong, very comforting and yummy and just the perfect scent to help set the scene for a great bathing experience.

    On the skin

Very kind and gentle while in and out of the bath. No drying of the skin, no irritation, and I didn’t walk around smelling like a milkshake!

    Recommended?

Unusual fragrance. concentrated formula, created lots of bubbles and was gentle on my skin? Definitely recommended! It’s a great bath product which is different because of how it smells and it’s consistency and creates a fabulous bath. The Bath Blend not only comes in banana, but also berry, mango and pear! Each one costs £8.00 which is more than your average bath soak but it IS different! Visit The Body Shop online to grab your fruity bath time bath blends.

  • Bath Time On A Budget With The Body Shop’s Moringa Bath Bubble

One of the easiest ways for me to relax is in the bath. Perfect time to switch off, unwind and have some important time to myself. So it’s no wonder I have so many bath products in my collection! One product I used recently which was given to me by a friend, was The Body Shop‘s Moringa Bath Bubble. This retails for £1.50.

The Body Shop’s Moringa Bath Bubble
    What’s a Bath Bubble?

The Body Shop’s Bath Bubbles when popped into the bath produce bubbles, fragrance and colour.

    How does it look?

Wrapped in a small yellow coloured packet, Moringa Bath Bubble is a small, flat, yellow, heart shaped looking bath bomb/fizzer. Hard in feel and slightly chalky like a bath bomb. It’s very simple in look, very plain but still left me intrigued and wanting to use it.

    Fragrance

Moringa Bath Bubble‘s fragrance is an uplifting, slightly sweet floral mixed in with a touch of plant like smell. I’m not a massive floral fan. But because this isn’t heavy and doesn’t have one particular flowery scent dominating it, I found this to be really nice.

    In the bath

Under warm running water, I could see the outer layer of this Bath Bubble fizzing nicely and it started to produce small amounts of foam. By the time I came to turn the water off there was a surprising amount of foam created from such a small little item! White, fluffy, super soft and airy foam lay on the top of a slightly yellow/marine coloured bath water, which impressed me greatly. The original fragrance I could smell when I opened the packet was what I could smell in my bathroom, but it was beautifully subtle which I loved!

This was a very relaxing and enjoyable bath. On my skin, I felt Moringa Bath Bubble was quite moisturising on the skin. I didn’t feel I needed to use anything straight away on my skin after I got out of the bath because my skin wasn’t dried out at all.

    Recommended?

Before I was given this I didn’t realise that The Body Shop made these AND bath bombs. I didn’t realise that a small £1.50 love heart would be of such high quality and unbelievably affordable and create so many bubbles. Fab little bath time treat which doesn’t break the bank, so totally recommended!

  • Druid and the Witch Rainbow Cloud

Bath bombs are available everywhere. Shops, supermarkets, discount stores. But how many people buy their bath time treats from small businesses who make and sell their own bath products?. I definitely do! One business I’ve bought bath products from has been Druid and the Witch. I purchased a collection of products from them including their Rainbow Cloud Bath Bomb last year. Individually this costs £2.20.

Rainbow Cloud by Druid and the Witch
    How does this look?

No surprises but this comes in the shape of a cloud. It’s flat and takes up the palm of my hand so a really good size. On the front it’s mainly white in colour with a delicate addition of light purple highlighting around the edge. There’s also a slight shimmer to this bath bomb and a hand painted silver lightening bolt shape on the left hand side of it. If you look on the bottom edge of Rainbow Cloud you can see different colours popping through ( purple, blue, yellow ) giving you a hint of what’s to come when this is added to a bath.

    Fragrance

This was labelled as Blueberry Lemon in scent. When I took this out of its plastic wrapper and gave it a little sniff there was a faint smell of something citrusy but if I’m honest it wasn’t strong or clear what exactly this was fragranced with.

    In the bath

While warm running water was filling my bath, Rainbow Cloud Bath Bomb spun round and round like a windmill. As it was turning it released streams of different colours. It wasn’t as uniformed as what I thought it would be e.g separate straight lines of colour, but colour was there. While the different colours was released ( green, purple and yellow ), some foam was created. Once the has disappeared altogether, it turned the water in the bath into a pretty sea topped off with fluffy foam.

One thing that did disappoint me a little was lack of fragrance. It was barely there. Was this to do with the fact I had this bath bomb in my stash for awhile? Too long that it lessened the fragrance of it? Not too sure. But fragrance was what Rainbow Cloud Bath Bomb was lacking.

    On the skin

No issues for me, no irritation, and I continued with my usual after bathing ritual of moisturising with a body lotion while feeling very relaxed.

    Recommended?

I would happily try this out again in a different fragrance and use straight away once purchased to see if the fragrance behaves differently. As mentioned, it was only the smell or lack of that didn’t quite grab me but everything else I enjoyed. It’s affordable, kids would love this and overall I think it was fun. So would I recommend this? I would say give it a go if you like a bit of bath art from your bath bomb.

Druid and the Witch have lots of bath and body treats available that come in various forms, fragrances and budgets here.
