  • The Festive Candy Cane Bubble Bar From LUSH

There is nothing nicer than getting hold of bath and body pampering products that are festive in look, style and fragrance. As per usual, high street store LUSH have rolled out their seasonal products ready for customers to lap up, enjoy and give as gifts. One product brought out for Christmas is their Candy Cane Bubble Bar. This retails for £5.00 each.

Candy Cane Bubble Bar By LUSH
    What does it look like?

Like a candy cane! Candy cane shaped with stripes of red and white (now pink because this has been boxed with other items). Chunky in look and feel, raised and slightly rounded on the front of it while the back is totally flat.

    Fragrance

This has a soft sweetie like scent to it but with a minty freshness. It’s pleasant, not too minty so doesn’t have the traditional coldness to it. This would appeal to most people fragrance wise.

    How to use

While holding the Candy Cane Bubble Bar, place it under warm running water and when finished put to one side to dry out ready to use again.

    In use

I placed this under warm running water and as soon as the two met, the bubble bar created bubbles and colour. The bubbles came thick and fast and were white and fluffy. While the bath water turned into a pretty shade of pink. Using this again for a future bath wasn’t what I wanted so I crumbled up the bubble bar under the running water. The bubbles increased and the pink colour of the water intensified. The bath itself looked very inviting, full of bubbles and colour. And the fragrance was there, although subtle but noticeable.

The water itself was very soft and nourishing on my skin. Candy Cane Bubble Bar felt very moisturising both in and out of the bath. My skin afterwards wasn’t dried out at all or irritated. Overall I really enjoyed using this bath treat, I just wish I was less sleepy to truly appreciate it!

The shape and fragrance of Candy Cane Bubble Bar is fun and festive. The fact this can be used multiple times makes this better value although £5.00 for a bubble bar isn’t actually that bad of a price. With this being quite moisturising on the skin it was a winner too. Definitely recommended, perfect stocking filler for a bath loving person.

Candy Cane Bubble Bar is available, for a limited time, online and instore now.

  • The Festive Snow Fairy Wand By LUSH is Back!

When most people think of the store/brand LUSH, there is one fragrance and range of products that is incredibly popular….SNOW FAIRY! It’s a fragrance I originally was introduced to by using products inspired by this scent not by the official range itself e.g wax melts. But I’ve now experienced a few actual Snow Fairy products from LUSH, including their Snow Fairy Wand. This costs £8.50.

    Snow Fairy Wand
    Why did I buy this?

It’s something a little bit different from a traditional bath bomb or bubble bar so it caught my interest. It’s quirky and I thought I would enjoy using this.

    What is Snow Fairy Wand?

Snow Fairy Wand is a bubble bar but on a stick. With it being on a stick it can be used for more than one bath, and can actually be used to blow bubbles through the middle section of it.

    How does it look?

Snow Fairy Wand is a five pointed star shape. Quite thick and chunky in look with a circular hole through the middle. Its pink in colour with a stick going through the bottom of it.

    Fragrance

This smells just as good as the other items from the Snow Fairy range because it’s identical in scent. Sweet, slightly candy floss like with a hint of berries underneath. Perfect for those who love their fragrances on the sweet side.

    In the bath

I popped this under warm running water, and as soon at the water hit Snow Fairy Wand it immediately produced bubbles. Not only were the bubbles coming thick and fast but the water itself slowly went from clear to being pink in colour. The fragrance was there as well, not massively strong but enough to give a comforting and soothing fragrance experience. AND…I could blow bubbles from this! The whole in the centre, when blown into it, created sizeable bubbles which was fun.

I enjoyed being in this bath. The bubbles were soft and airy and lasted a lot longer than I thought they would and once out this didn’t dry my skin out at all. It also didn’t irritate my skin, which is an ongoing issue of mine. After using this, the wand was a little smaller because the water dissolved some of this, but not by much. So this should easily provide 2 if not 3 more baths in the future.

This is a MUST for any Snow Fairy fan! It’s different, it’s fun, smells great and creates a really good bath. And, you can get multiple uses from this which makes the initial cost less expensive. Great gift idea for a bath lover or a pampering treat for yourself. Limited edition so grab it while you can!

  • Sunday Rain’s Mango & Coconut Foaming Bubble Bar

I’m a bath addict. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Doesn’t matter what the season is, the temperature, time of day, I WILL have a daily bath! After having a couple of days away with my children during this Summer, I had a meltdown when I realised my room only had a shower. Lesson learnt, book a room with a bath is a must! So as you can imagine bath products are definitely a love of mine and I like to try out different types and different brands. I’ve just spent some one and one time with Sunday Rain’s Mango & Coconut Foaming Bubble Bar. I bought this from ASOS some time ago for less than £5.00.

Sunday Rain’s Mango & Coconut Foaming Bubble Bar
    Why did buy use this?

I’ve used Sleep Easy Bath Bomb from this brand before and loved it. But bubble bars are one of my favourite bath products and I really wanted to see what this was like from Sunday Rain. The picture online looked appealing, mango and coconut as possible fragrances sounded nice and the price point was affordable.

    What’s a Bubble Bar?

Most bubble bars are similar to a bath bomb. But they tend to create foam and bubbles and are more moisturising on the skin because of the ingredients it contains e.g various oils and/or butters.

    Packaging

Very simple. The bubble bar is shrink wrapped, and then housed in a plastic sleeve. Over this a cardboard sleeve which is placed around it and is similar colouring to the bubble bar itself. Nicely presented with the bubble bar well protected too.

    How does it look?

Sunday Rain’s Mango & Coconut Foaming Bubble Bar literally is a segmented bar made up of 8 pieces which you can snap off to use. It looks slightly chalky and solid like a bath bomb and is a beautiful shade of peach.

    Fragrance

I’m not getting any coconut scent from this bubble bar, but there is a mango-esq hint to it. I wouldn’t call it a true mango scent but more the type of smell you get from products wanting to smell like mango, if that makes sense? It’s nice enough, not too sweet but not particularly wowing.

    In the bath

I used two segments of the bubble bar in the bath. I thought this would be quite solid but it actually crumbled up under warm running water like a dream. Not chalky at all in texture and quite soft. As soon as it was hit by the water it created lots of bubbles. Soft, airy, white, fluffy, a lot more than what I was expecting. The water itself stayed clear and wasn’t coloured, but the bubbles still made this a very inviting bath. There was no bubble bar pieces left on the bottom of the bath so totally dissolved.

Fragrance wise? I didn’t get much to be honest. I got a little hint of mango but it smelt a touch on the synthetic side but was so light it didn’t make much of a difference.

Being in this bath it was pleasant, relaxing, no more or no less than other bath products I’ve used. What I did notice was touching the bubbles in between my fingers, they felt very moisturising. This made me rub them all over my body and it felt good! My skin after this bath wasn’t dried out and very normal in feel, but would have liked more indulgence and moisturising from this bubble bar.

    Recommended?

Sunday Rain’s Foaming Mango & Coconut Foaming Bubble Bar definitely delivered on a few things. It foamed, and created a good amount of bubbles in the bath. There is zero need to use the whole thing so someone could get a maximum of 4 baths out of this easily. Quick and easy to crumble up and presented nicely. What would have made this better would have been more fragrance and more moisturising, then this would have been perfection! For what it is and does I would still recommend it if available at the right price. This is available on Amazon for £12.99 which is ridiculous! It’s worth buying if under the £5.00/4.00 mark but availability is hard to come by online, so maybe difficult to purchase cheaper.

  • Bubble Up’s Blissed Out Berry Bath Melt Bar

I’m going to be controversial. As a bath lover, bath bombs aren’t my favourite bath product. I think they can be fun and create a great bathing experience, but personally I enjoy bubble or bath melt bars more. Why? I find them to be more moisturising than bath bombs and most of them create bubbles too which not all bath bombs do. As a little bath time treat I recently used Bubble Up’s Blissed Out Berry Bath Melt Bar. This was in a gift set given to me from a friend for my birthday. Individually this costs £4.49.

Bubble Up’s Blissed Out Berry Bath Melt Bar
    Why did I use this?

I wanted a bit of a pamper and a moisturising bath without having to use a bubble bath or soak and thought of this. When I have the time and a chilled out mindset, this is when I want to use products like this so I did!

What is a Bath Melt Bar?

Bubble Up’s Bath Melt Bars are designed to be moisturising (ingredients include coconut oil and grapeseed oil), produce bubbles while creating a fragrant bath.

    Packaging

This bath melt bar was wrapped in plastic and then housed in a cardboard box. The front is cut out so you can see it, and the box is simple in look and colour (white, black and red). It’s fun and it does stand out.

    How does it look?

This bath melt bar is nearly the length of my hand and just as wide. Segmented like a chocolate bar and rectangular in shape. It’s not the flashiest in appearance. Colour wise it looks like a very pale pink colouring but actually made up of tiny specs of pink, purple and blue. No design, no glitter or patterns, just plain. And the texture of this is chalky like a traditional bath bomb, thick and quite weighty.

    Fragrance

There is a slight raspberry scent to this. Sweet berry like with a little sharpness. But it doesn’t smell strong (when taking the bath melt bar out of it’s plastic wrapping).

    In the bath

Rather than me breaking this up I just threw the whole bar into the bath! It fizzed a little and slowly but surely created some foam and colour. I did have to give it a helping hand by breaking it in two and crumbling sections of this, which created more foam and turned the bath water into a shade of pink. By the time this dissolved the bath was full of fluffy white bubbles over a bed of pink bath water.

The fragrance was incredibly subtle which was slightly disappointing. I really hoped it would be punchy and fragrance the bathroom which it didn’t.

The bath itself was very relaxing. Blissed Out Berry Bath Melt Bar really was moisturising because my skin felt silky. I could also feel the drier parts of my body feeling less dry such as the heels of my feet. And out of the bath my skin didn’t feel dried out or irritated (which it has been recently).

    Recommended?

This is a very, very good bath product. It’s a generous size which easily could be used in three baths. It created lots and lots of bubbles which lasted a good amount of time and this is affordably priced. The only downside for me was the fragrance. It needed to be stronger and specific. But I would still recommend it because it performed very well.

This isn’t a brand that seems to be readily available instore or online. I’ve found them, and this product, being sold at The Perfume Shop along with other products from the range.
