  • Better Than LUSH? Glow’s White Hot Chocolate Foaming Bath Rocks

Sometimes it can take time to find good quality and budget friendly bath bombs and fizzers. We all know of a certain shop that sells them, but at a cost. Finding more affordable bath products can be trail and error. I’ve found myself using different bath products from a business called Glow over the last few years. Some were gifted, lots bought, including White Hot Chocolate Foaming Bath Rocks. I purchased this towards the end of last year. So what were they like?

Glow’s White Hot Chocolate Foaming Bath Rocks
    What are bath rocks?

Bath rocks are basically chunky squared small bath bombs. You can use one in the bath or a few at a time. The choice is yours!

    Packaging

These bath rocks come in a lined paper sachet. The type of packaging I expect to see some expensive, organic tea or coffee to be housed in. So not the standard high street way to present and store bath rocks/bombs, but I like it!

    How do these look?

I received 5 bath rocks in my sachet. Roughly cubed (well, technically more rectangular), about 2 cms in width, depth and height and white and soft yellow in colour. From far away these look like posh marshmallows, but they have the typical bath bomb chalkiness and texture to them you would expect.

    Fragrance

These bath rocks smell like a mix of caramel, vanilla, white chocolate and milk. The scent of these is absolutely stunning, and I’ve never smelt anything like this from this type of bath product…EVER!

    In the bath

I popped two of these bath cubes in an already run bath. Immediately they created foam and fizzed a little, and the fragrance was there straight away. The bath cubes took a long time to disappear, not the immediate in the water 5 seconds then gone! They turned the water pale yellow in colour. After the initial fizz and slight foam, there were no bubbles, just coloured water.

The best part of this bath for me was the fragrance. Incredibly comforting, the perfect strength. This made my bath relaxing, enjoyable and I really liked using these. Despite having slightly sensitive skin at the moment, these caused no issues. They also didn’t dry out my skin either.

Purely for the fragrance of Glow’s White Hot Chocolate Foaming Bath Rocks YES, BUY! If like me you love scents that are within the bakery family, vanilla, biscuit…you know the types of scents, you will love how these smell! The bath it created I enjoyed. I’m wondering if a more pretty bath would have been made if I used all of the cubes into the water. I’m not sure, but either way, I would be happy to buy these again and try out other versions. Yes, these come in different fragrances, including Aqua, Twilight Opium and Candy Cane. Cost? Only £4.00, for a quality bath product in different scents. Interested? • I Love Glow’s Cosy Blanket Room Spray!

Room sprays are a form of home fragrance I’ve started to use more of over the last few years. They’ve never really interested me in the past, but I’ve found them to be a quick, easy way to dispense fragrance in a room if and when needed. A quick freshen up, deodorise bad smells and replace them with good. It’s taken me awhile to appreciate them but I do now. The current one I’m using in my home is Glow’s Cosy Blanket Room Spray from their December Subscription Box. So what is this room spray like?

    Glow’s Cosy Blanket Room Spray
    Packaging

100ml of fragrance comes in a white, plastic trigger style dispensing bottle. It’s nothing flash, but the illustration on the label depicts the fragrance name perfectly. Practical packaging, compact and easy to use.

    Fragrance

Cosy Blanket is a beautiful, comforting and slightly warming scent containing creamy vanilla, a little crisp citrus and amber. What this makes is a fragrance that is incredibly inviting, cosy, relaxing and although can be used during any season ideal for Autumn and Winter use.

    Strength & Longevity

The strength of this room spray is medium to strong. It’s strong enough to be there but not harsh. There’s no mistaking when I spray this in any room because Cosy Blanket immediately delivers a hit of fragrance. Longevity is brilliant. I can spray this in various rooms and places and the scent remains for a good amount of time.

    Combatting odours

This is a great room spray to help with smells in the home e.g cooking. Once sprayed, it really cuts down on smells you don’t want in a room with. It softens them and helps to replace it with this beautiful, almost perfume like scent. Does it take away the bad smells totally? Going off my own experience not fully, but it really does take pungent smells down a notch or two.

Thinking of all the room sprays I’ve used in the past, Cosy Blanket has got to be one of my favourites. The smell is stunning! I could have this fragrance in anything and everything whether it’s for the home or body and bath, it’s so good! The fact it has vanilla in it, which is one of my favourite scents, is a winner. But it’s the quality of this product for me as well. It’s a beautiful scent, perfect strength, lasts well and makes bad smells better instantly. Why would I NOT love this? Absolutely recommended, and totally upset this isn’t currently available. But keep an eye on Glow’s website for it’s return, hopefully sooner rather than later!

  • Glow’s Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Sugar Scrub

Why is a body scrub a good body care product to use? It’s a simple, pampering and an effective product which can immediately improve the look and feel of the skin. It gets rid of dead and dry skin, smooths it out and improves the overall condition of it. Perfect step after cleaning the skin and before applying a moisturiser product. Do I love a body scrub? Yes. Do I use one often? No. Am I using one currently? Yes I am! I’m using Glow’s Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Sugar Scrub that was a part of their December Subscription Box. What is it like?

Glow’s Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Sugar Scrub
    Packaging

150g of scrub comes in a clear, plastic pot. It’s not an exciting form of packaging look wise but it’s practical, sturdy and you can see the product inside it.

    How does it look?

Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Sugar Scrub is a cute shade of soft pink. It looks rich and decadent, not totally smooth because there’s tiny sugar particles in it. It looks almost solid but it isn’t. Firm but soft.

    Fragrance

I experienced this fragrance in the Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Bubble Bar and this is exactly the same scent. Spicy in a cinnamon warming type of way, with a hint of cooling, fresh mint with a slight bakery smell. I had my doubts whether this fragrance would work because there’s a lot going on but the more I smell it the more I love it!

    On the skin

I used a fingertip of scrub on each body part. I made sure my skin was damp, and this rubbed over my skin like a dream. This almost melted while applying it. It became softer and created what I call a little ‘froth’ on the skin. I could feel the sugar in it because the sugar particles were the perfect size. Not too small where they wouldn’t do anything and not too big that they didn’t exfoliate. I could feel the exfoliating action and didn’t need to apply too much pressure. Easy to rinse off the skin. Using this while in the bath turned the water cloudy in an almost milk bath treatment way.

The fragrance of this is TO DIE FOR! This really made my bathroom smell good and I enjoyed using this product, not only because of the texture but because of the fragrance too.

My skin after using this, when dry, was incredibly soft and smooth. I noticed this while applying body lotion and also found my skin was lightly scented with the scrub’s fragrance.

  • Glow’s Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Bubble Bar

Bubble bars should be a bath lover’s best friend. If you love a bath bomb, chances are you will love bubble bars too. They’re one of my favourite bath products to use when I want to be indulgent. I haven’t tried bubble bars from Glow, a small business who make and sell products such as wax melts, air fresheners, body butters and face serums. So I was excited to see that a bubble bar was included in their December’s Subscription Box which I purchased last year. So what was it like and did it live up to my expectations?

Glow’s Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Bubble Bar
    How does it look?

Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Bubble Bar is shaped like a thick slice of swiss roll. It’s a deep pink/red colour with swirls of a paler pink shade inside the middle, giving it that swiss roll look. It’s quite solid. I expected it to be a little softer but it’s very firm and in no way fragile.

    Fragrance

This bubble bar smells like a mix of mint and spices. Spice wise, it could be something warming such as a mix of ginger, mixed spice or/and cinnamon. I didn’t get much in the form of cocoa, but overall the fragrance was really good. Not massively sweet or too bakery based. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised because just off the fragrance name I thought this scent would be too busy and it wasn’t.

    In the bath

I broke Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Bubble Bar in two and crumbled half of it under warm running water. I did find the bar itself was quite tough to break up because it was so hard. But once done, in the bath it created a little froth on top of the bath water and the water itself was cloudy, slightly pink in colour which then went clear. The fragrance was subtle and gorgeous. Very unusual in smell and very relaxing. Perfect strength because if it was heavier it could have been too much.

    * I used the second half of the bubble bar differently. Instead of first crumbling it I put it under warm running water whole. Waited a bit, it then got softer and then I crumbled it. Much easier with and I think it created more bubbles this time rather than froth.

This was very gentle on my skin. As someone who had easily irritated skin in 2024, I did worry about using this but no issues. Absolutely fine on the skin, no irritation and didn’t dry my skin out. Strangely enough after coming out of the bath my skin felt very clean (not stripped) which I didn’t expect from this product alone. What I would have liked though is to feel more moisture from this bubble bar on my skin.

    Recommended?

I liked using this bubble bar. My favourite part of it has got to be the fragrance because it’s different and comforting. I have a feeling if I used the whole bubble bar I would have enjoyed this even more, got more fragrance, more bubbles rather than froth and possibly more moisture for my skin. Good job I have another bubble bar to try out! Would I recommend this? Yes, even just for the fragrance alone and it’s because it’s not a bath bomb. Spiced Cocoa Mint Gingerbread Bubble Bar is a lovely bath product, great seasonal fragrance and costs only £4.50. There are other fragrances available here which should suit everyone’s personal fragrance needs, so try it out!
