Normally as a wax melt lover, I will grab a piece of wax from my stash and just melt it. Whatever fragrance I feel like at the time is what I go for with no particular need or want to head towards a specific vendor or brand. But I had so much fun a few weeks ago spending 7 days melting from just one wax vendor I thought I would do it again! So over the last 7 days I’ve been melting from a wax vendor called Glow, using pieces from the first order I placed with them a few months ago. So what did I melt?
Glow Wax Melt Snap Bars
White Dove
If you think of the brand Dove (soaps, bath and shower products etc), this is what this is inspired by. Think of the Original formula and this is incredibly similar. Fresh, clean with powdery notes to it. This smells like a bar of soap. Can’t go wrong with this fragrance at all and perfect after a cleaning session.
Glow’s White Dove
Cherry Kisses
Oh my! These make me think of cherry flavoured lozenges or sweets. They have that cherry fruitiness to them, not overly sugary but more sweet inspired than fruit, if that makes sense? Love it and quite mouth watering.
Glow’s Cherry Kisses Wax Melt
Marine Garden
Ok this one get me a little excited! I expected a very plant based, earthy, fresh fragrance coming out of this wax melt snap bar. But what I got was indeed fresh, but with sweetness to it. In there somewhere is a white floral, I’m convinced of it. A touch of woody notes in this and musk. It’s beautiful and not what I expected AT ALL!
Glow’s Marine Garden
Walking on Sunshine
Sunshine in a wax melt snap bar alright! A little effervescent citrus, it’s zesty, sweet but not syurpy. This will put a zing in any room this is melting in and perfect for Spring and Summer.
Glow’s Walking on Sunshine
White Fairy
I had no idea what to expect from the scent name alone, but what I got wasn’t what I thought it would be like. It has an almost pear drop type of scent going on, fruity, sweet, sweety like. Totally moreish and very energising.
Glow’s White Fairy
Parfum Pink Elegance
This is a soft, floral scent. Exceptionally pretty, quite delicate and very feminine. If you love your scents to be inspired by body or perfume fragrances but don’t want something too obvious and strong, this one is perfect!

My Week Melting Glow In A Nutshell
It’s been fun melting Glow’s wax melt snap bars. I definitely chose these scents well as they’re ideal for Spring and Summer seasons. Each one coloured beautifully and when melted created stunning wax pools. Fragrances have been enjoyable to experience, long lasting and the perfect medium strengths. Each scent I’ve been impressed with and liked every single one of them, but Marine Garden is my favourite!
Such high quality when it comes to these wax melt snap bars from Glow. This collection of wax melt snap bars will keep me busy for hours and hours. But they’re that good I just want to order more! Did I mention how brilliant they are in price? These are currently on offer and start from £1.00 per bar.

If you’ve read any of my blog posts about home fragrance, you will know my favourite home fragrance product to use is wax melts. Why? They come in a massive range of fragrances, sizes and shapes. I don’t have to worry about using tealights and actual flames, as I can pop them in my electric wax warmers and I find them visually appealing. And these are just a few reasons why I’m a wax melt hoarder and have way too much wax than I should. So am I guilty that I’ve just received my first order from UK based wax vendor Glow? No I am not! But I did want to share with you all what I ordered.
Glow Wax Melts
Why did I order?
This is my first order from Glow but not my first experience of their wax. I’m part of their Facebook group, and last year I was surprised and thrilled that the lovely owner Angela had gifted me Glow’s October Subscription Box. This gave me the chance to try the wax out and I was very impressed by each of the pieces. So when I saw in the group some wax melts on the website were on sale for as low as £1.00 in some stunning fragrances, I was powerless! In my defense, I did think of future birthday’s coming up for some of my wax melt lover friends, so a great time to buy one for them and a few for me.
What did I order?
Snap bars in the following fragrances: Pink Dragon Fruit, White Dove, Walking on Sunshine, Paradise Island, Purple Rain Cocktail, White Fairy, Hotel of Dreams, Sleepy, Marine Garden, Sea of Dreams and Parfum Pink Elegance.
Wax Shapes: Cherry Kisses, Honey Wash and Vanilla Caramel.
Cost
Including delivery this bundle was around £20.00.
How do they look?
What I love about each of these pieces is they look so different to each other because of how they are coloured. Vibrant, bursting with eye popping shades of blues, greens, yellow, pinks. I think somehow I’ve received a rainbow in a box! And did I mention the shimmers and glitters I can see twinkling in most of this collection? These are eye catching, fun and have that hand made/hand poured type of look that in all honesty you wouldn’t get if you bought the standard wax melts available from a supermarket.
As much as wax snap bars are practical and great to use, I adore a shape or two! And these shaped wax melts are so cute, substantial in size and I can see it will take me a good amount of hours of melting time to use these up!
Fragrances
Normally when I buy wax the first thing I do is give them a big old sniff! I couldn’t do this when these arrived because I wasn’t feeling that great. But now I can sniff away without my head exploding. I bought a good mix of scents within this order and some I can smell without opening them up. Vanilla Caramel has that distinctive vanilla fragrance to it with an almost light coffee undertone to it. Parfum Pink Elegance is that pretty, feminine fragrance you would want to wear thanks to it being a floral with a hint of fruitiness. White Dove is that fresh, clean, soap type scent which I adore and is such a classic and neutral scent.
From what I can smell without putting them on to melt, these smell just as gorgeous as I thought they would. And genuinely I can’t wait to use them!
Recommended?
In one word YES! Glow’s wax melts are easy on the eye and playful in appearance, excellent quality and fragrances on cold (un-melted) are perfect. I am beyond happy with this little order, and I know others who have or are ordering will be too. Tempted? Head over to their website here because at the time of writing this post, there were still wax melts which were on special offer price wise. Enjoy!
Wax melts are addictive! They’ve grown in popularity over the years so who can blame anybody for having an obsession with them? They make the rooms in your home smell amazing, you can pretty much get any fragrance you want in them and they are easy to use and affordable. And dare I mention how some are so pretty they are a joy to look at but a pain to melt? So it hurt me a little to melt pieces from Glow’s October Wax Melt Subscription Box that was kindly given to me by Angela the lady behind the brand. But we need to know what they smell like, right? So let’s begin with the review….
Glow’s October Wax Melt Subscription Box
What was included in Glow’s October Wax Melt Subscription Box?
I snapped a fifth of this wax melt and popped it into my warmer. Such a Spring/Summery type of wax pool with it’s shades of orange, a bit of green and a little yellow. Fragrance wise I can sum this up simply and easily. This is a mix of juicy sweet apples with chewy sweets! It’s not syrupy sweet, it doesn’t smell like a cheap and synthetic scent that makes you pull a face. It’s yummy, it’s delightful, it’s fruity, it smells so good! Strength of Apple Bonbon is a medium. Doesn’t need to be any stronger it’s perfect! Longevity wise I had this melting for a good number of hours over 2 days and only changed the wax to try something else, not because the scent had faded.
Apple Bonbon Wax Melt
Pumpkin Spiced Latte.
I used a fifth of this melt. What was lovely to see was the two colours of the wax while it melted. It created a beautiful and even wax pool. You get a fleshy slightly sweetened hit of pumpkin that has been rolled around in a selection of warming spices. This is Autumn in wax form for sure! Comforting, cosy and delightful. Medium in strength and longevity just as good as Apple Bonbon. Melted over 2 days and only taken off for a change over of wax.
Pumpkin Latte Wax Melt
Black Sweets.
This wax melt smells identical to the Black Jack sweets. There’s an aniseed, liquorice scent wafting through which is very distinctive. A beautiful shimmering purple wax pool was created which was so pretty! The fragrance I got was so specific before it melted, but I only got this faintly while it melted. When this happens I do a few things. Change the amount of wax I’ve used. In this case I did think I used a bit too much. Change the position of the warmer it’s melting in or change the room it’s in completely. So I’m in the process of doing that so can’t comment as yet on the final result. But on cold it’s a great scent and unusual one.
Black Sweets
Hareebos.
I felt bad hacking a third of this grinning pumpkin head but needs must! A gorgeous two toned wax pool was created of mint green and pink which shimmered! Fragrance wise this is an effervescent, energising, and sweet scent. I got a little citrus in this, a little berry. There’s a mix of different fruity inspired scents here all sugar coated and in sweet form. Strength wise a medium. Again on for 2 days and then a wax change.
Hareebos Wax Melt
Candyfloss.
It’s so hard to cut a small piece off such a big wax melt! I could have used less but I again I used roughly a fifth. What I realised after giving it the chop is inside the middle was a surprise of purple and pink wax chunks. So when this was melting not only was there a stunning golden orange pool but a hint of these two colours as well. And to top it off this was truly golden because it had gold pigment running through this which was eye popping!
Fragrance wise I thought I knew what I would get with Candyfloss, but this was a bit different. It wasn’t overly sweet. So think of traditional candy floss scent, take the sweetness a notch or two down and throw in a little fruitiness. Medium in strength, long lasting (melted over 2 days) and threw a scented curve ball at my nose!
Candyfloss
Dolly Mixtures.
This snapped off effortlessly thanks to it’s shape and thinness. Yet again the magic number seems to be 5 and I used a fifth of this wax melt like the others. The section I used had a bat on it, so to see it slowly submerge in a sea of green gave me Batman and Joker vibes. Such a lovely pool was created with irregular splodges of black, green and yellow molten wax with a shimmer. Similar in scent to Hareebos but more citrusy and fizzy. Strength, like the others was a medium. And wax changed as the others after 2 days.
Dolly Mixtures
Sweet Melody.
I didn’t use much of this wax melt. I broke a small piece of it off and removed the ghost shape off the top and popped that into my warmer too. The scent from this was so warming, so enjoyable. This reminded me of when I was little and my dad would give me hot Vimto. Smells just like the drink! Rich, berries, sweet. And dare I say there seemed to be a slight hint of bubblegum in this? Absolutely delicious! Another medium strength melt on the verge of being strong. This built up strength once it started to melt and packed a fruity punch in my kitchen. I can tell this would be a long lasting fragrance but I had this on for my usual 2 days with no sign of fading.
Sweet Melody
My final thoughts.
This set is incredible! The sizes, the appearance of each wax melt, the fragrance. All of which tie in perfectly with the theme of everything October, which includes Autumn, Halloween and what do people big and small love getting during Halloween? SWEETS! And smelling like sweets this set did indeed!
Although this box is no longer available for sale, if it was, I would recommend this in a heartbeat! More so if you love your sweet inspired scents. I am very impressed with this collection and impressed with the quality of wax Glow creates! I am so excited to see future subscription boxes and if you can get one please do! Glow’sFacebook group will announce when they are available so feel free to join their loving, wax mad community. But if you want to cherry pick your own wax delights visit their website here because they truly have some beauties available.
For anyone that loves to use wax melts as home fragrance products, one of the best purchases they can ever make is to buy a subscription box. Why? A selection of different scented wax melts of various shapes and designs would provide hours of fragrance which is what any wax lover would love. And that’s why I was very happy to be gifted Glow’s October Wax Melt Subscription Box from Glow themselves.
Glow’s October Wax Melt Subscription Box
What do you get from a Glow Subscription Box?
Every month Glow will release a small number of subscription boxes which have a particular theme to them. This theme will be reflected in how the wax melts look and smell. These are exclusive wax melts, with most of them not being created to sell individually and only available within that month’s subscription box.
What’s included in Glow’s October Subscription Box?
Glow’s October Subscription Box contains 7 individual wax melts, which include:
Hareebos. A chunky, cackling pumpkin head. Two tone in colour ( green and pink) with a dusting of glitter.
Black Sweets. A coffin shaped wax melt with a touch of pale blue. An impression of a cross sits on the top with a dusting of silver glitter.
Sweet Melody. A circular disc shaped wax melt with a ghost shape sat on top. Spookingly cute!
Pumpkin Spiced Latte. A massive pink and blue pumpkin shaped wax melt covered in a glittery pigment, giving it a gorgeous shimmer when the light hits it.
Candyfloss. Another whopper of a pumpkin shaped wax melt but this wax melt is more of a traditional looking pumpkin. Orange in colour with an added gold shimmer.
Apple Bonbon. A very large and unusual shape wax melt. Not too sure how to describe the shape of this but it’s fun and different! Apple Bonbon wax melt is made up of lots of varied sized spheres of different colours.
Dolly Mixture. This wax is disc shaped with different coloured shapes on the top. All Halloween themed, ranging from a bat, ghost and even a witches hat.
Fragrances
I haven’t melted any of these pieces yet. After having a cheeky sniff of them through their packaging, these smell glorious! Perfect for me as they seem quite sweetie inspired, which is one of my favourite fragrance families. This type of fragrance ties in well with the Halloween theme.
First impressions?
This screams Halloween, but not the typical dark, creepy, serious and scary Halloween. Glow’s October Wax Melt Subscription Box is colourful, super cute and fun. Great variation of colours and shapes in these wax melts. Plus the sizes are beyond generous which will give hours and hours of fragrance. A beautiful and well thought out collection which will make any wax melt lover beyond happy!
