  • Glow’s Essentially Glow Body Butter

We all have a go to body cream or lotion that we grab to use because it always works. It could be the texture, the fragrance or how moisturising it feels on the skin that makes us love it. One that is definitely high up there on my favourites list is a body butter. It’s always been a body moisturiser I adore, so there’s always a few floating around in my body care collection. One of the newest ones to grace my bathroom shelf is Glow’s Essentially Glow Body Butter. I received this in their New Year New You January Subscription Box last month. So what is it like?

    Glow’s Essentially Glow Body Butter
    Packaging

This body butter comes in a cardboard tub, with a very firm lid keeping everything in place. Being made from this material means it’s fully recyclable and much more eco friendly than other materials.

    Texture

Essentially Glow Body Butter is whipped, solid but melt in the hands type of texture. Truly decadent in feel and goes from a solid to a liquid within a few seconds of being handled by warm hands or/and fingertips.

    Fragrance

This has a very calming and soothing scent to it, which is soft lavender with an almost citrusy kick to it underneath. Beautifully fragranced and ideal for night time use to help with relaxation.

    In use

There’s something very satisfying scooping this out of it’s tub. It’s quite solid, as I’ve already mentioned, and feels so rich and luxurious. I just knew my skin was in for a treat from that first moment. The amount it took to cover a finger tip was enough for each part of my body. I rubbed this into the palms of my hand and it quickly went from a solid to an oil. On the skin, it coated it beautifully, leaving it feeling moisturised and gave it a glistened look not a greasy appearance. Despite it being more oil based this felt on the skin not particularly heavy and very comfortable.

The fragrance was there. How this smells makes it perfect for night time use because it’s so relaxing, not distracting but gives the body a hug.

    Recommended?

I’ve always been a body butter fan. There is zero change in that thought using Glow’s Essentially Glow Body Butter. The texture is unique and pampering, the fragrance is beautiful and it moisturises and cocoons the skin without making it look and feel oily. It’s a brilliant body product and I think everyone who likes a body butter really needs to try this out because this a perfection!

Not in stock at the time of writing this post, but keep your eyes peeled on the Glow website for updates because you need it!

Simple Face & Eye Skincare Masks

There’s been quite a few different Simple skincare face and eye masks available on the shelves at Home Bargains for the last few weeks. Ranging from 49p up to 89p, these are considerably cheaper here than anywhere else on the high street.

Garnier Eye, Lip & Face Skincare Masks

Although a lip mask isn’t really something I would want to purchase, some may want to for 99p. What more people would be more drawn to I think is the Garnier eye and face masks. For 69p you could grab either their Hydra Bomb Tissue Face Mask or for the same price their Moisture Bomb Eye Sheet Mask. Picking up all three of these items would cost less than one in some high street stores so great value.

Glow Perfume Mists, Body Washes & Body Butters

Social media has been going crazy over the latest products from Glow. They’re supposed to be dupes of the popular (but very expensive) Sol De Janeiro brand. Different fragrances are available with generous sizes. The perfume mists cost £3.99 and the body butters £4.99. The body washes are HUGE! For 750ml, and nicely fragranced, these came in at only £2.49. Are these good dupes for Sol de Janeiro? I don’t know, I’ve never used products from the brand. But how these products are packaged and marketed seems to indicate they are.

So the question is, did I buy anything I’ve mentioned? Silly question, of course I did! If you want to grab any of these affordably priced products check out your local stores quickly, because they won’t be there forever!

  • The £2.49 Brightening Eye Serum From Skincare Brand Glow

If you try to look after your skin, there is always at least one area that you want to improve on. My area of concern is my under eyes. They’re not bad, but I want them to look a little more rested and alive which in itself will give me a younger, fresher look. So I have a weakness for eye products and I’ve been looking for an eye serum to give this area of my face a little pick me up. I picked up Glow’s Time To Glow Eye Serum from Home Bargains for £2.49 for 30ml, to see if this would help.

Glow Time To Glow Eye Serum
What is this designed to do?

Glow’s Eye Serum is designed to reduce the appearance of dark circles, make the under eye area look fresher and brighter thanks to ingredients included such as ceramides and Vitamin C.

    Packaging

Glow’s Eye Serum comes in a glass bottle with a pipette applicator. This makes it easy and hygienic to use. Quite simple in look but does stand out thanks to it’s soft pink coloured label, and comes boxed with the design and colour mirroring the bottle. It does stand out and is quite appealing.

    Consistency & Fragrance

This eye serum is clear, liquid but not as fluid as water, which is what I would expect from a serum consistency wise. I can’t smell a fragrance although the packaging doesn’t state it’s fragrance free. But I can’t see an obvious listing of a fragrance in the ingredients either.

    How to use

Using a small amount, dab the serum under the eyes.

    On the skin

I found this a very easy serum to use. The consistency is perfect because it’s not too fluid and I can feel this going onto the skin with my fingertips. It feels lightweight and quite moisturising and sinks in very quickly. It doesn’t leave a film or layer on the under eye area to look at, but it does feel as if something has been applied to it.

The previous eye product I was using was a cream. That formula was much more nourishing compared to this but it would because of it’s texture. But looking at the visible look of the under eye area, after using this for a few weeks, looks and feels no different to before use. I had hoped to get even the smallest amount of freshness in appearance from this but nothing.

    Recommended?

This was a nice enough product to use but I didn’t feel it made any difference. The look, the feel of the under eye area was pretty much the same for me as before so it’s not something I would repeat purchase. I think this is an ok product to use if you just need something light weight for this area of the face, but it’s not the best. I’m happy to pay a little more for a better product and possibly a branded one that I know of and can research and get customer reviews on.

  • Glow’s Coast Bubble Bath Is Perfect For Bath Lovers

A bath is an evening ritual I rarely miss out on. I find it relaxing, I use it as time out for myself and it gives me a few minutes of not having to move. Why would I NOT love a bath? Having baths regularly means the amount of products I have for the bath is varied and I always love to try something new. My latest bath time treat comes in the form of Glow’s Coast Bubble Bath. This was part of Glow’s New Year New You January Subscription Box. So what was it like?

    Glow’s Coast Bubble Bath
    Packaging

Simple, practical and basic is how I would describe how this bubble bath is packaged. It comes in a clear, flip topped plastic bottle which is labelled.

    Consistency & Look

Consistency wise Coast Bubble Bath is a little thicker compared to other bubble bath products I’ve used. But it’s liquid and flows. Look wise, this is a beauty! It’s a turquoise colour which is very sea/marine like, with the most stunning shimmer and sparkle to it. It has hints of fine gold running through this which is eye catching and mesmerising.

    Fragrance

Clean, fresh, mineral based with a hint of sweetness. This is the type of fragrance that would appeal to both the guys and the girls. I love how this smells! It’s strangely relaxing and invigorating at the same time!

    In the bath

A small amount of this bubble bath created a generous amount of white, fluffy, compact bubbles which were foamy and a joy to sit in. Not only was a lot produced but they lasted a good amount of time too. The fragrance was incredibly relaxing when I used this for the first time. It was the perfect medium strength to smell but not overpowering. I enjoyed every moment in this bath. I was unsure whether my skin would like this or not as it’s incredibly irritated at the moment. But it didn’t cause my skin any issues, it didn’t feel worse, it didn’t dry out and didn’t cause me any issues.

    Recommended?

The fragrance, the look, the bubbles and the atmosphere created are all reasons why I recommend this product. I loved using it. It’s totally different to anything you can grab off a supermarket shelf look and scent wise, and it’s a great quality bath product which I can’t see anyone NOT liking!

This is available on Glow’s website for only £2.25 for 100ml. It comes in different fragrances along with Coast, including Snow Fairy, Aliens, Millions, Wish, Kreed and Slumber.
