  • Fragrantasia’s Sweet Snow & Cherries Wax Chunk Pot

When I was growing up, home fragrance came in the form of an open window and a bottle of Zoflora. That was how my dad operated. Bless you Mr Griffiths! These days it’s expanded and a bit more elaborate than that. Brands such as Zoflora and Fabulosa are pretty big, combining cleaning with fragrances. Candles are still very popular. Reed diffusers seem to be available all over the place and wax melts are going from strength to strength. Wax melts probably are still my favourite way to fragrance my home. I will use these multiple times in a week mainly in two rooms. This week I decided to use Fragrantasia’s Sweet Snow & Cherries Wax Chunk Pot from my open box. This cost £2.40 for one pot.

Fragrantasia’s Sweet Snow & Cherries Wax Chunk Pot
    Why did I buy this?

Firstly, I LOVE wax chunk pots! They look great, they cleverly incorporate two different scents that creates one new fragrance which is imaginative. These are one of my favourite wax forms if you haven’t already guessed. This scent I went for because it was new to me at the time of purchase, it sounded quite fruity (which I love) and I just had a feeling I would love it!

    How does it look?

Off white coloured wax with irregularly aubergine purple pieces of wax embedded into it. Not only can you see these physically breaking through the surface of the top of this wax chunk pot, but if you look round the sides and bottom of the pot this sits in you can see it’s FULL of these chunks! These two different colours of wax are two different fragrances. It’s not a complicated or an arty looking piece of wax, but there’s something so pleasing to the eye about how this looks.

    Fragrance

This maybe simple in name but it explains what this fragrance consists of perfectly! You get a fruity, dark cherry scent. There’s a little tartness to it so not too sweet. Mixed in with this, is a scent inspired by a well known bath bomb shop and one of it’s product fragrances (hint, LUSH’s Snow Fairy). This scent is sweet, almost candy sweet. Think candy floss, even bubble gum and fruit flavoured sweeties. What I like about this is it’s not over the top, it’s not so sugar based it makes you feel queasy or comes across synthetic. Perfectly balanced and lip lickingly good!

    In Melt

I used a quarter of this and popped it into the wax warmer that lives happily in my kitchen. One thing I didn’t realise with this wax chunk was there is a slight shimmer to it. This was only revealed once the piece of wax warmed through and slowly became liquid, that my eyes were met with a delicate and very pretty sparkle. What was left once totally liquid, was a beautiful deep shimmering shade of purple.

It didn’t take too long to find that not only was my kitchen filled with the scent of Sweet Snow & Cherries but also my living room, which is next door to the kitchen.

    Strength & Longevity

Strength wise this is medium to strong. It’s powerful but in the sense of the fragrance is there, it stands out and it travels outside of the room it was melting in. Like many wax pieces I use, I had this on for 2 days (at least 4 hours at a time) and it maintained it’s strength and quality throughout.

    Recommended?

I love this scent! It’s a combination of two different fragrances that are delightful on their own but are amazing together and I adore it! Although this was part of a Winter inspired range of wax last year, I could happily melt this any season as it’s beautiful. So of course this is recommended! If you like your fruity and sweety like fragrances this will be a winner in your home. And the size and weight of this wax chunk pot (roughly 45-50g) will provide hours and hours of fragrance to enjoy.

At a glance I saw only 1 of these left in stock! So if this is right up your wax melt fragrance street quickly grab it here now.

  • My Fragrantasia Wax Melt Open Box

Let’s talk wax melts. There is no doubt that fragrancing rooms and homes with wax melts is still incredibly popular. It is in my house that’s for sure! I have been super good and not bought any so far in 2022, my last purchase of 2021 came from a wax vendor called Fragrantasia. Rather than it being one or two pieces that arrived, I paid for an open box. And for any wax melt lover that hasn’t used this service before it’s a game changer!

My Fragrantasia Wax Melt Open Box
    What’s an Open Box?

An open box is quite a common thing with some small wax melt companies. You can order what you want and add to your order whenever you like. When you want the whole lot shipped to you, you pay for postage and your order is delivered. I might fancy 3 wax melts today so I order them. I then get paid in 2 weeks and I buy 4 more then. Oh, there’s a sale on so I’m going to buy 10. And I’ve now decided that’s all I want so I pay my p&p and get all 17 pieces posted to me. And THAT’S what I did with Fragrantasia. I bought bit by bit of what I fancied and then closed it when I was done.

    What did I get?

I got quite a few things over a number of months. Some were popped into Christmas presents but some I’ve kept for myself. My open box included Halloween inspired scents, everyday best seller waxes and Christmas ones too. Here are some of the scents included:

Halloween. Snoozy Ghosts. Werewolf. Witches Laundry.

Everyday scents. Fresh Linen. Patchouli Musk. Gold Orchid. Candy Hearts. Cake Batter Fudge.

Christmas scents. Silver Storm. Tinsel Town. Baby It’s Warm Outside. Snow Love. Sweet Snow & Cherries. Fluffy Pink Candy Canes.

    Christmas Inspired Wax Melts

I took advantage of having an open box and I bought a range of different scents from different times of the year. Have I started melting these? Unfortunately not! I’ve been kept busy with my wax melt advent calendar from Fragrantasia so my wax warmers have been very busy since December! But I’m very excited to try all of these as they look and smell amazing (from their little packets).

So, if like me you love your wax and buy them from small businesses who specialise in making and/or selling them, find out if they do an open box. I’ve reviewed various wax melts from Fragrantasia and been more than happy with what I’ve tried so I highly recommend them. I’m so pleased to see them back after their Christmas break. Their website is up and running, with some fantastic blends and shapes ready to be melted in your wax warmer of choice.

So after browsing their website, what would YOU want to melt?

  • Mrs Mac Candles Hot Apple Pie Wax Melts

We all have our favourite scents that we want to enjoy in our homes. There is nothing more inviting than walking into a room that smells fabulous, right? I’m currently in love with some of the typical Autumn and Winter inspired scents. They tend to give a cosy feel to a room, which is ideal when the weather is damp, dark and chilly. No surprise then that I’ve been melting Hot Apple Pie Wax Melts from Mrs Mac Candles. I bought a selection of these around a month ago. This came in the form of 2 discs and normally £1.75, but I bought these when there was a 40% off sale.

    Hot Apple Pie Wax Melts

    Why did I buy this?

I follow Mrs Mac Candles on Instagram. Never ordered from them before, but their wax melts have always looked so appealing. Great variation of scents available and super affordable. So they’ve always been on my to order list. Being a new vendor to me, getting these at a discounted rate gave me a great opportunity to try them out without spending too much. The actual scent Hot Apple Pie is an easy purchase for me because I love bakery scents and this scent is perfect to hermit with inside!

    How do these look?

I have never had wax melts look like this before which made these already very special. What came was two discs roughly 4cm in size. A beautiful shade of mint green, with an eye catching raised design on the top of each. Finished off with what I always love to see is a little magical sparkle from glitter! Wrapped up in a clear plastic sleeve. So incredibly pretty and packaged simply and practically.

    Fragrance.

Just as I had hoped and expected. A warming hit of cinnamon with spices (possibly being cloves and nutmeg) mixed in which gave it warmth and depth. Of course it wouldn’t be Hot Apple Pie without the scent of apples! Just ripened juicy apple cutting through giving it that fruity, clean and not too sharp element to this scent. A gorgeous and classic combo.

    In melt.

I used one in my warmer, and found because these are quite thin, they really didn’t take too long to melt all the way through. The wax pool left was the same shade of gorgeous green as when it was solid, with the glitter floating around the top. I liked this scent in the kitchen because it fooled me into thinking I was in the middle of baking which I wasn’t! A very homely feel this scent provided which was slowly released as the wax melt/disc became molten.

    Strength & Longevity.

Strength wise this was a medium. The fragrance was obviously there and you could easily pick it up in the room but it wasn’t clawing. Some fragrances that have a spicy element to them can be very strong which I’m glad this one wasn’t. I had this melting for over 2 days and it performed very well. After that, I did feel it needed to be changed strength wise but I also just wanted a change of fragrance. When I use a wax melt, bare in mind I have these melting for hours not just an hour or two a day. So believe me when I say these were worth the price!

    Recommended?

Considering this is a new wax melt vendor to me I’m so glad I’ve tried them. These particular wax melts smelt great and gave me what I had hoped for. They performed very well, they looked fantastic and dare I say would make great gifts for Christmas or any other gift giving occasion. So totally recommended and I am glad I ordered other wax melts too!

If this review has peaked your interest and you want to purchase this fragranced wax melt here’s the link. Don’t worry if this isn’t your type of scent because there are loads of amazing sounding scents available to buy. Please don’t blame me if you spend a small fortune, but your house will thank you for it!

  • Snap Wax Melt’s Ava Bath Wax Snap Bar

Fragrance is a personal choice. What one person likes another may not. And how we fragrance our homes has the same principles. My favourite product to fragrance my home is in the form of wax. Wax shapes, wax melts, wax snap bars. Although I melt whatever I feel like regardless of the time, day or season, sometimes you just want to grab and enjoy something specific to the time. And Ava Bath Wax Snap Bar, that was kindly gifted to me by Snap Wax Melt earlier this year, screamed Summer to me! And to create a cooler and refreshing vibe at home, I decided to melt it.

Snap Wax Melt’s Ava Bath Wax Snap Bar

    Why this one?

I wanted to fragrance my kitchen with something that was going to be quite fresh, and not heavy in regards to it’s notes e.g musk. It might be warm, I might be dripping with sweat, but at least around me it can smell fresh and clean! And this is what I hoped from this wax snap bar.

    How does it look?

A rectangular, segmented bar which has 10 raised squares on it ready to snap off (think chocolate bar shaped). A vibrant but not eye bulging green colour, simple but very Summer like. I did think it was one block of colour but actually it’s two. Turn the wax snap bar over and you can see a different shade of green, slightly lighter in shade than the top. I liked this! Simple but gave the bar an interesting look. Came in a clear plastic sleeve with the company label on the front and ingredients on the back.

    Fragrance.

This is a citrus lover’s dream! Zesty, sharp, lemon and lime. Not sweet but totally fresh and punchy!

    In melt.

I snapped off 4 bars of this and popped it into the warmer in my kitchen. It turned into such a glorious sea of green, it was nice to see the two shades of green merge into one. The scent itself was super noticeable. Despite the fact this was melting in my kitchen with various foods being cooked, it cut through those smells like a knife! Filled the space and even drifted into the living room as well.

    Strength & Longevity.

Strength is a medium. Any more than that I think it could make your eyes water, but this strength is perfect! Because of the type of scent this is, as I found, ideal for kitchens or rooms where you want to combat other smells. Longevity was great. As per usual I melted this over 2 days for many hours, at least 8 hours in total, and provided the same quality and strength of scent throughout.

    Recommended?

Totally! Although it can be melted anytime of the year, this is perfect for Summer time use. Great for deodorising, perfect when you want something fresh and clean but NOT a laundry scent. And great for those looking for something fruity but not sweet or the typical favourites e.g berry based, rhubarb etc. Every wax snap bar I’ve melted from Snap Wax Melt has been of a high quality. For £3.00 each per bar, this will provide hours of fragrancing, so visit their website here to chose your very own home fragrance wardrobe!
