  • July Recap! Products I Used & Found On The High Street

Another incredibly busy month has come and gone in the blink of an eye! It’s full on summer now. Schools in the UK are closed, people are venturing off on their holidays and we’ve experienced every type of weather known to man. I also found lots of great affordable skin and body products on the high street, and made a few purchases too. So what products did I use in July and what products did I find that were worth a mention?

Products I’ve bought, used or seen on the high street in July
    Mallows Beauty Products

A skin and body care brand that delivers products designed to be fun, enjoyable and easy to use. Not to mention effective! Mallows Beauty products have been sat on the shelves in Home Bargains at prices well below their usual rrp’s. Scrubs, facial toners, body cleansers, all products sold for under £5.00 each.

Face Facts Skincare For Mature Skin

Skincare for older skin tends to come with a heavier price tag compared to other products for different age groups. But Face Facts, already a budget friendly brand, caters for the older and more mature skin type too but cheaply. Cleansing balm, eye serum, facial serum night cream and neck masks all can be found in supermarket Tesco for under £5.00 each.

Versace’s Eros Energy Eau de Parfum

This is the most expensive fragrance I’ve bought in years! But your son only turns 16 once so why not? Versace’s Eros Energy Eau de Parfum might not be cheap, but it’s a beautiful and unusual men’s fragrance perfect for summer wearing. My son likes it, I got it at a good price, so very happy with this purchase.

    Under £1.50 Bargains!

Who doesn’t love a cheap but good product? And as usual there were plenty in discount store Home Bargains in July. From bath treats by Bubble Up, and skincare products from Face Facts and Simple, all budget friendly. Great for everyday use or gift giving.

    Face Facts Repairing Cream
    29p Gel Mask

How much does a skincare face mask cost these days? £2.00? £3.00? I picked up Que Bella’s 1% Hyaluronic Acid Gel Mask from Home Bargains for only 29p! It’s not the best skincare mask I’ve ever used if I’m honest, but definitely not the worst. But for only 29p, fragrance free and enough for 2 applications? Not a bad buy at all!

Hair & Body Mists in Primark

More Sol de Janerio hair & body mist dupes? Yes, probably! Walk into Primark and you will find a variety of differently fragranced hair and body mists perfectly scented for summer. £3.50 each, decent sizes and nicely packaged.

    Simple’s Soothing Water Cream

My current facial moisturiser is Simple’s Soothing Water Cream. A beautifully rich but light weight moisturiser that has slotted into my skincare routine perfectly. Did I mention it was only £1.29? BARGAIN!

Lady Millions EDT Fragrance From Lotions & Potions

Want to buy a teenage girl a great fragrance that not only smells nice but packaged cutely? This is why I bought my teen for her birthday Lady Millions EDT Fragrance from Lotions & Potions . For only £10.00 this delivered a grown up fragrance in an adorable, but age appropriate packaging.

So, these are some of the products I’ve bought, used and also found on the high street in July. What will I find and buy in August?

  • May Review Round Up. What Products Did I Use?

Another month has zoomed by! I say this every month, but where is the time going? It didn’t seem that long ago when I wrote my April Review Round Up post and now I’m doing it for May! But here we are again. Another month, another collection of products I’ve used and reviewed. So what were they in May?

    Products used in May
Primark’s PS Guava Peach Bath Fizzer

At a cost of £1.50, this massive bath fizzer might satisfy those who love baths and love low prices too. But for those who are after quality AND quantity, spend your money on something that will provide fizz and not fizzle out!

Maui Moisture’s Coconut Coffee Body Scrub & Wash

This was a bargain find! 99p for a 577ml shower product. Although Maui Moisture’s Coconut Coffee Body Scrub & Wash is marketed as a 2 in 1 product, it isn’t in my opinion. Just call it a good quality, great smelling body wash and appreciate it for just that.

Maui Moisture’s Coconut Coffee Body Scrub Wash
    Aldi’s Lacura Moisturising Hand Cream

A highly moisturising hand cream containing glycerin and oatmeal. Such a great quality product at a bargain price. Would appeal to those who uses and loves Aveeno products because of their similar ingredients.

    Aldi’s Lacura Moisturising Hand Cream
Primark’s PS Hydrating Coconut Cream Mask

A great priced mask but for me, lacked the hydration factor my skin needed. Such a shame, as I wanted something nourishing but what I got was something similar to a clay mask so did the opposite.

Momento’s Salt On My Skin Eau de Toilette

A slightly hidden brand as I’ve never heard of it before! Available from Boots. This has such a beautiful scent. The problem I had was not how it smelt, but it’s strength and longevity. Is this proof if you want quality you have to pay a bit more for it?

Beauty Kitchen’s Abyssinian Oil 5 Minute Miracle Mask

This mask has made me realise how picky my skin has been recently. Always remember that skin is an individual thing which never stays in exactly the same condition all of the time. Beauty Kitchen’s Abyssinian Oil 5 Minute Miracle Mask, because of the quality of it’s ingredients, will be loved by many. But yet again my thirsty skin remained thirsty after using this so not my personal go to mask at the moment.

So, as you can read, May was a month that mixed things up a little bit when it comes to the products I used. A little skincare thanks to the use of masks, fragrance via an eau de toilette and some pampering times in the bath and shower courtesy of a bath fizzer and body wash. Is there anyway we can indulge in more products and keep costs down as low as possible? Check out this post for some tips – How To Save Money On Skincare/Beauty Purchases, and I will see you on the next product review!x
